Hey everyone! Just got back from a quick weekend getaway at the beach! Very relaxing! Now it's back to work

Quick question, and hopefully it's not too personal!, but are you guys going to apply for citizenship or will you keep renewing your Green Card?

Good question, my answer right now is that i'm gonna keep renewing my green card. I'm not too sure about applying for citizenship, i might give it a shot, i just heard it's really hard getting dual citizenship and that's what I would want.

I think interviews are possible throughout the entire process. I don't think it necessarily means they are suspicious of your case, they probably have quotas to meet and what not. I hope I don't get one then, I already had two so far, I feel like we've proved enough! We'll see when we get there I guess...

Alaba, did you receive your green card yet?

Yes, sorry I didn't wrie, I recieved my green card on Wed July 13! Really Happy! I'm actually in Buffalo, NY right now, i'm gonna be traveling around till next month, I've been in Buffalo for a week, then thrusday i'm off to Conneticut for two weeks, then the Bronx NY for a week, then Newark NJ for a week, then off to Rochester NY for a week then August 21, I shall arive to my final destination of Canada and I cannot wait for that! Really excited. My sister is getting married so I will be there for a couple weeks!

Since I've been i PR so long I've had to eat the food that is there, but as soon as I got to Buffalo, first thing i did was go to Timmy's and hammer a Large Ice Cap and a bagel with cream cheese (toasted of course), tasted like heaven. :D... Cant wait to kill some food in Canada!

About the interviews, i heard of this one couple in PR who someone told me that they are always getting interviewed, i don't know how true that is, but they told me that they go every couple years... who knows... :S

Here's a question from me, what are the conditions of our green card? Is it just proving again our relationship in 2 years?

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!

I hate having nerves, lol, I haven't felt nerves like this since the interiew in Montreal... but i know it will all work out.

I saw alot of chat about ticks and bugs, while i was in St. Croix i got bit by a Centipede, and they are not like the centipedes in Canada, they are huge and have poisonous. Hurt for 10 hours straight. Make sure you all check your cover before sleeping if you ever come to the carribean. :P

Australia and New ZealandAustralian Beneficiaries - Packet 3 to Interview date
One last question, which I feel I'm confused about because it's three AM here...

Do I send the original I-129F package to the embassy with the packet three documents or does my fiancé just take it to the interview? Same with the evidence of the relationship.

It's the best answer I've gotten here! Yes,I meant question 8... sorry to not specify earlier.

Thanks, my fiancé and I have been debating this one out for a couple of days.

Thanks.

Australia and New ZealandAustralian Beneficiaries - Packet 3 to Interview date
I have to ask since I can't seem to find a clear answer elsewhere:
In the I-134, does my cosponsor include my fiancé as a dependent, or do I count my fiancé as a dependent (even though I don't work)?

Oh yes we did get our NOA2. :-)

I'm not too worried about him not getting here sooner... the wedding is in December, so as long as he's here in November or early December I'm happy :-) We're starting those docs here (the DS ones and the affidavit of support).

So I just sent my I-129F package!

I'm relieved the first step is done... but how can I check my case status? I'm going to this site:
https://egov.uscis.g...es/Locations.do

But I don't have a receipt number. Do I receive that when I get my NOA?

Thank you!

Asia: East and PacificEmbassy Appointment
Hello,

I'm currently using my fiancé's account here to ask a question in regards to making an appointment with the Sydney Embassy.

We've gotten our letter of approval (NOA2 for the I-129F) and we've been told that the interview will be conducted at the Sydney US Embassy. My question is rather simple: do I make the appointment with them, or do they assign me an appointment time when I receive the packet in the mail?

If I do have to make the appointment, where do I do it, is it online or do I have to call?

Many thanks!

Josh.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI 134 Questions
So I can only have multiple co-sponsors for the AOS? :-(

Thanks for the income question, it was really bothering me.

Would I be considered partially or fully dependent?
BelleSadeFemaleAustralia2010-08-14 20:03:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI 134 Questions
Never mind the second to last question. Found the answer here. But can the cosponsor live in a different state?
BelleSadeFemaleAustralia2010-08-14 09:12:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI 134 Questions
At question 7, in the "I derive an annual income of..." bit, my self employed co-sponsor usually makes around 70k but last year he made around 20k... so is the annual income that from last year or an estimate of the last three years (I feel like I read that somewhere but I could've dreamed it)?

On question 8 I have a more specific issue. I live at the cosponsor's house (rent free), but I'm not (for various reasons) counted as a dependent on the tax forms. Should I write "partially dependent" or still include "wholly dependent"?

And question 10... my co-sponsor would write "None", as I was the one who submitted the I-129F, right?
And question 11, well my co sponsor says he can stay here and eat our food and whatnot, but there's been no talk of exact amount of US dollars given for support. Can I just write "room and board?".

Last but not least... can my fiancé have two cosponsors? If so, can one be living in a different state?

For a last non-I-134F related question, can you guys see my timeline? I tried making one but I don't know if it worked.

CanadaMarrying an American AND Starting Your Career in the USA
My fiancé tried to get a work visa for an entire year (and not in a common field, mind you), and all failed. I wouldn't suggest it. The economy is pretty bad and companies don't really want to sponsor a foreigner.

The cases in the Immigration Offices are taking long time after all the situations around the world (Egypt, Japan and Libia). That countries had priority in their cases and by that everything is running more slow.

Hi Mari!!!!

Thank u so much for ur greetings!!!
I was not good in this days, sorry!!! The pregnancy is wonderful for one side and hard for another side. This changes in my body are killing me. The pain in my legs, nauseas, be tired so fast, etc. and i have just 5 to 6 weeks!!! I really wont imagine near up to the birth. :/

I received the I-797 from the NOA2 and i was very excited until i start reading at last. The USCIS will tranfer all the documents to NVC and that could take 2 weeks. Then the NVC has 90 days (could be more) to get comunication with the turkish consulate and get a VISA number for my husband. So, u can know how i am feeling right now. IM VERY DISSAPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!

And I called then for ask to continue with expedite and they told me that maybe dont make any difference in the time to wait bcz everything is about if they find a number... And right now they are giving advance to the egyptians by the political problems they have there.

What do u think about all this???

Nihal , you mean Jan 11th, not Aug 11th? No worries girlfriend, it's coming any day now, just watch. :reading:

Maribel & Unal: Congratulations on your NOA2 & the good news of a litle AmeriTurk on the way!!!

Then I took a few pics in front of the Christmas tree to send to him and ughhhhhhhhhhh. I dont' like it. I swear we need to get together in Turkiye this summer. How about a trip to Izmir when all of this is over. No, I think all of us should meet somewhere in the states after all of our spouses are approved. I think the first meeting should be in Chicago. Ok, I'm rambling, but I think it would be so much fun to finally see, hear, touch, etc. the ppl (and the spouses) that have started to morph into extended families during this whole process.

ey girls... my travel is on this 29... But Im feeling wont go by the situation with my dad right now. We dont know when he will return to home from this hospital. Now Im breaking nights here with my dad bcz somedays before the doctor sent the nurses for inject my dad with a medication for make him rest and that caused strong allucinations. So strong, that my dad once stand up fighting and fell down his body over me and i catched him from his belly to can turn him around and with the wall make him go very slow to be sitted over the floor. I have my back, hips and sholders hurted. And the effect of that medications had a duration of 48 hrs. Bcz the mix of that medication with antibiotics for old ppl is dangerous. So... u both could understand me and know why i am not so excited for this trip.

Hi Erika,
Yup all the credit goes to Mari for re-starting this thread but I think it is wonderful. It is so nice to meet everyone and for all of us to share our stories. I am so happy to hear you and hubby made it through the process successfully. And, I hope you two have the opportunity to make it back to Turkey sometime soon.

Our story: I was playing Farmville on Facebook, there was something that I needed more friend for. I found this thread on facebook where you could go and find other Farmville players and add them as friends. I came across Kemal's picture, I melted and so I sent him a msg requesting to add him as a friend. He added me, so I wrote him and said "thank you and hi" and we have been talking and together ever since. Something just clicked and the minute I saw his picture something inside of me just said, talk with him. It was his eyes and his smile. We talked daily almost all day since we first met and in August we decided I should come to visit him. I went in October 2010 had the best time in my life. I am going back in 3 weeks and I absolutely cannot wait. I fell in love with him instantly.

WELL.. I REALLY LOSE THE LINE OF THIS TOPIC, BUT I JUST HAVE TO COMMENT HERE THAT TODAY MY MOOD IS NOT A GOOD ONE. IM REALLY PISSY OFF FROM THIS SITUATION TO NEED WAIT THIS "·$%&/()(/&%$· PPL DO THEIR WORK. I DIDNT REGISTER ANY TOUCHED IN THE WEPLIKN FROM USCIS UNTIL MONTH AND HALF. SO, THE ONLY THING I NEED TO DO ITS GO TO TR FEW DAYS FOR SPEND TIME WITH MY HUSBAND UNTIL THE GOVERNMENT WANNA BRING TO US THE APPROVEMENT LIKE ALL OF U TOO.
I AM REALLY WISHING THIS COUNTRY COULD BE LIKE SOUTH AMERICA, WHERE THE PPL HAVENT ANY PROBLEM TO GET MARRIAGE AND CARRY THEIR LOVED ONE BESIDE OF THEM. BUT THIS ITS THIS !"·$&/))(/&%$·" GOVERNMENT THAT DOESNT APPORT ANYTHING TO ME. JUST A PASSPORT OR CITIZEN BCZ I AM WHO IS GIVING TO THEM ALL.

I MOST TO DO A LOT OF THINGS TO FINISH MY BAG, BCZ I AM CARRYING FOOD FROM HERE TO THERE AND LET MY FAM IN LAW ENJOY OUR TROPICAL FOOD FROM PUERTO RICO. HOPE THE SURPRISE TO ME HUBBY BE AMAIZING IN HIS EYES BCZ ITS A BIG EFFORT TO MY FAM AND ME TOO
