PhilippinesMedical exam...asking for more money?

I passed my medical exam & got 3 shots for immunization on my 2nd day. They told me that I lack 1 more shot w/c will be available monday but I need to pay 500 for pregnancy test. Do I have to go back to St Lukes or will it be okay for me to take that vaccine when I go to the US?

I think it's the same vaccone we need coz I was also told the vaccine will be available on Monday. You can have that vaccine administered in the US, but you'd have to shoulder the cost.

PhilippinesMedical exam...asking for more money?

That's true repeat pregnancy tests are not covered. I had to pay 500 pesos after I've undergone the sputum test. Psychological evaluation is also not covered, that's 1000 pesos and if they refer you to do a PEPS test that's another 3500 pesos.

Funny thing is that they had me do the repeat pregnancy test so that I can get immunizations but did not administer any because I needed just one vaccine and they don't have that in stock, if they didn't have it in stock then they should just have told me and not had me do the repeat preg test that day. They said to go back Dec 2 coz that vaccine could be available already but I'd have to pay another 500 pesos for the repeat pregnancy test (AGAIN!) So I figured, I won't go back at SLEC and just have my vaccine done in the US.

PhilippinesK1 VISA Approved Today! 11/19/2013 - Interview experience

We're approved! dancin5hr.gif

I arrived with my brother at the US Embassy at 5am. A vendor immediately rushed at us and asked whether we're for Tourist, K1 or Immigrant. I answered K1 and she led me to the line where the K1 Fiance applicants are. There were chairs lined up (30 pesos /chair rental). I rented one and waited for our scheduled time to be called. They let people in by batches. My scheduled appointment is 7:30. At that time they only had those for 6:15 called in. My fiance, who was at work at that moment and I were communicating through iMessage while waiting for our batch to be called in.

At 5:30am,, the security guard called our batch and we had to line up near the Embassy entrance. There were separate lines for Tourists, seafarers and Immigrants and Fiancee. They had us prepare our passport, Appointment Letter and DS-160 Confirmation ready on hand.

By 5:45am, the embassy lady by the entrance checked the documents on hand and just indicated "New Form" on the appointment letter using a marker then placed my passport inside a ziplock bag. We had to line up again for security check

By 6:15 After security check, had to line up on the counter where I was given a number and was informed to NOT FORGET to drop the Appointment Letter at Window 39.

By 6:30 Inside the embassy, ladies in polo shirts will ask for the Appointment Letter, hand it to them otherwise your number won't be called

By 6:45 My number appeared, went to Window 43 for Finger scanning.  I was asked for my name and birth date and was given instructions for the biometrics.

By 7:00 My number appeared, went to Window 57 where a very friendly Filipino Consul greeted me.

He asked for the following documents: Birth Certificate, NBI Clearance, CEMAR, Annotated Marriage Certificate, I-134, W2 and Tax Transcripts.

Then asked me the following questions: What is your name?

                                                          Birthdate?

                                                          Place of Birth?

                                                          Current Address?

                                                          Email Address and Mobile number?

Your son is not coming with you?

How did you and your fiance meet?

When was the last time you saw each other?

Where will you stay in the US?

Did you bring photos of you and your fiance together? I answered yes and handed him our photos.

He looked at the photos and he said "Very Nice, be sure to show these to the American Consul. Goodluck." He smiled and instructed me to sit and wait for my number to be called again.

The First interview was very brief, lasted about 15-20 minutes.

Here's where the long wait starts, so glad to have met another K1 applicant from Pampanga and we talked while waiting. (Hi Karla! should you happen to come across this.)

By 9:00 am I was called at Window 58, looks like it was a lucky day for me because the female American Consul also was very friendly it made me at ease. She had me raise my right hand and read the Oath.

Then she asked me the following questions:  How long have you known each other?

When did you guys start dating?

                                                                 Has he been married before?

                                                                 Why did they get divorced?

When did he start living in the US?

How did he first enter the US the first time, was it through K1 too? I told her no, he was a tourist and found work immediately after.

                                                                 You have also been married?

                                                                 Why did your marriage end?

What type of music does he listen to? I answered rock and mostly alternative and said he is a guitarist and vocalist in a band.

She said, does he play acoustic or electric? I answered both.

She said, If you are to compare their band to any famous band, which band would you compare them to? I answered Nirvana.

                                                                 Do you have photos together?

I showed her our photos and when she saw a photo of us at Sonya's garden in Tagaytay, she mentioned she's been there and the place is very nice. I smiled and agreed.

She then handed me back our photos and said, Great, I got all I need. I asked her, are we approved? and she said Ofcourse! and instructed me to wait for the number to be called again.

I went back to my chair and felt this big sigh of relief. Oh the feeling of hearing "You're Approved", it's like I was in heaven.

By 9:40 I was called at Window 72, waited in line and the man just looked at our folder and said, you can go home, your VISA will be delivered to you.

I was out of the embassy by 9:50 and called my Fiance to deliver the good news.

The interview went all smooth, thank heavens. I think if you have all documents in place and your relationship is in fact real, there is really nothing to be scared about. smile.png

PhilippinesMedical/Interview Question

An immigrant / K-1 visa is valid for six months from the date of the medical or the date of issuance, whichever comes earlier (99% of time it's the medical).

For most people they will have 4 - 5 months of validity on theirs, due to the medical being ahead of the issuance.

"An immigrant visa is usually valid for up to six months from the date of issuance unless your medical examination validity expires sooner, which may make your visa valid for less than six months. You must arrive and apply for admission in the United States before the visa Expiration Date."

PhilippinesFinally in the US with Fiance, What's next?

1. get on a PC
2. click the word 'Guides' above
3. Read the AOS Guide for K1/K3 visa holders

That's it !

If you are using a handphone or tablet to study at VJ, toss it, turn it off, come back on a PC. The landscape is different, and you miss so much on a handphone.

Technical Problems? Hire a teenager for the evening.

Hihihi thanks so much for this :)

laughing.gif   Ah you are in San Jose... that is sort of cold ... for California anyway.

Glad you are home safe.

Next is get married. wink.png

The follow the GUIDE for AOS.

Thank you Hank. Guide for AOS it is. :)

Actually before you wed, get your SSN card in maiden name. Go to the local office after you have been here 7 or 8 days.

After you marry simply go back to the SSN office and change the name to your new name......easy to do.

Getting your SSN now will make things easier later like taxes, jobs, AOS etc.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I've read that we could get our SSN card earlier. Do we have to pay for this?

My fiance is arriving in North Carolina on Monday dancin5hr.gifwith temps that are 40F degrees colder than California.   I can hear her say the same thing as you just said. ranting33va.gif  I hope doesn't turn around and get a plane back to PI cray5ol.gif  Welcome to America BTW.

Well the next step is to get married. But I think you are looking for a more complete timeline and I am not the expert there.

Anyhow, good luck and Merry Christmas.

Haha, I'm pretty sure she'll hate the cold weather too, keep her warm with your embrace so she won't turn back. :) The cold weather is not something to look forward to, I can barely move my muscles! LOL Our first purchase was a portable heater. haha

Dear Ms. Enocia,

Thank you for writing to US Visa Service Desk.

In regard to your query, the cases of Rachelle Enocia and Misha Joyce Riezelle Enocia are still on process and the passports are not ready for delivery. Please track your passport at a later date or time and wait for another notification once there is an update in the case. Please also be advised that the courier (2Go) sends out a text message to applicants informing them that the visa is out for delivery (it may take 1 working day if within Metro Manila and 2-6 business days for provinces depending on the location) or the visa is ready for pick up at the 2Go office selected by the applicant. Please note that the phone number(s) and email address you have provided will be used for correspondence. All applicants should be aware that the processing time is an average and that the turn around time of a specific case can vary due to individual circumstances and other special requirements.

There is no standard turn around time for an Immigrant Visa Application. It depends on the documents that were submitted or on the consular officer who is adjudicating the case. Please note that an Immigrant Visa Application is being handled on a case to case basis. It is not advisable for applicants to finalize any travel plans unless they have received their visas.

In addition, you may check the status of your application online. To check the status of an immigrant visa case, please follow the instructions below:

Is the status updated date changing?  If yes, that's another good sign because it means that they are actually going thru your case file.

Initially, the processing date was October 21, 2013 then a month later, after periodically checking the online Visa status, the date was updated to November 18, 2013...so as you had stated with the good news, around what timeframe do you think I should be receiving my Visa? Thanks dancin5hr.gif

In regards with the Visa Status "Administrative Processing," based on anyone's experience, under what circumstance(s) would delay the Visa release?

My fiance and I have only met in person for a period of 9 days when he was here in the Philippines last September 2012...would that situation be iffy under the US/Philippines Embassy standards?

It's what my fiance and I assumed in the first place; hence the prolonged delay...

I had the same experience with you..My interview went smooth and both consuls asked less than 5 questions..When the American consul told me to go back to my seat and wait for my name to be called, i asked him if i am approved...He told me that all my papers are good..

The lady at the counter 72 called my name and she told me that all my papers are good..nothing is lacking but i am on AP..After 2 weeks on AP, my husband asked help from Senator Reid's office and in return, his office sent a Privacy Release form to the US Embassy in Manila..3 weeks after my case changed to Ready for 1week from AP, then it changed to Issued..

PS...I was not given any 221g form...

this is confusing because no documents were asked from me... huhuhuh

I was there on the 21st with my fiance for her interview. Did the American consul indicate to

you that you were missing documents? Because when it gets to window 78 they tell you

what you needed and why a 221g was being issued.

No documents were asked from me. She just gave me a white 221g form and no document was checked. She highlightened the "WAIT UNTIL YOU HEAR FROM US",  that all. Thank for the reply

Philippines221g "Wait until you will hear from us"

Sorry to hear you're still waiting for results of your interview. Have you tried calling the embassy and inquiring about your case? Probably far from the reason but how close did you do the medical from your interview schedule? Can you think of anything that they might be extra curious about that needs further "investigation"?

I emailed them and they just told me that they're conducting further administrative investigation and review about my case. I did my medical examination 2 weeks before my interview. I don't have any idea because I only had 5-10mins of interview. It was good and smooth. Do you think I'm denied? They kept my passport.

The embassy kept all my documents as well as my passport. Please help me... Is anyone there can tell me the processing time for this? please...Thanks and God bless

Another thing, no documents were asked from me... Who have the same experienced with me? Please tell me your experience... or If you don't have an experienced like but you have an idea, please share it with me... PLEASEcray5ol.gif
