K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsThere is no status update for the passport number submitted?

It has been 18 days since my interview and the last time I tracked my passport it says "Still with post". I got a bit worried cause when I checked it today it say that "There is no status update for the passport number submitted". Anyway, the requested documents from the consul just arrived the USEM this morning.

Anyone who has the same experience like mine? Below is my timeline. Thanks

Hello Keane! I also have that status since Monday on ustraveldocs "There is no status update for the passport number submitted". I had my approved interview last Sept. 16. The online status on CEAC the next day was "Issued". The status changed to AP after two days- been on AP for 7 working days. Last Monday, the status changed to "Ready". It went back to AP yesterday and when I checked today, it's back to "Issued". My fiance called the embassy last Monday and the agent said my visa is now in final processing. Hope we can hear great news this week. smile.png

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting on Visa after sending required Documents after Interview

Last week the embassy contacted my fiancé and said that the wrong document was sent - marriage certificate and not certified divorce decree.  We know which form was sent and this was a shock to us.  No sense in arguing with them, so my fiancé went down to her local office and got the necessary documents and sent them ASAP.  Documents were received from the embassy last Thurs.  They said to her that they cannot respond to further emails, which I am not sure I understand this comment to her.  Maybe they said they cannot receive by email.  Not 100% sure.

Knowing they have everything necessary to process; does anyone know how long this could take to process and send passports with visa? or, how long should I wait until I email them and ask - or should I even email taking risk of upsetting them?

So frustrating.

I wouldn't keep paying for those PINs if you can just email them and get a response.  Also, for the rest of us, which email address did they respond to?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting on Visa after sending required Documents after Interview

Finally got a response yesterday.  They said that they are waiting on a document ? which was sent to them. Either way, Document was sent and the embassy will receive it on Thursday.  Fingers crossed that we do not have to wait 3.5 weeks to process. My Fiance is going to call tomorrow afternoon using the PIN access.  Feels much better to know the Embassy will have everything necessary to process the Visas.  Phew!

Will update soon - Thank you for all the advice!

That should do the trick.  As long as you have that case number in there somewhere, they know you have pending business with the embassy.

It allows them to filter out frivolous emails like "I met this girl in a bar last night, how do I get her a visa to the U.S."  I'd bet they get alot of those.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting on Visa after sending required Documents after Interview

I did put the "case# BNK XXXXX" in subj line but not IV Inquiry.  Should I send another email or will the case # alone suffice?  I have sent a few emails over the last week with no response.  I'm at a loss on what to do.  I do understand how swamped the dept could be, but they have had our documents and passports since Jul 29th - and this is our last step.  So frustrating and a complete nightmare of a situation to be this helpless and in the dark.  Argh.

I forgot. Make sure the subject line is:  'IV Inquiry BNK2013XXXXXXX'.   With the BNK number being your case number.  You should have the case number from the letter that NVC sent you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting on Visa after sending required Documents after Interview

Thank you - just sent another email to the alias 2.  Tomorrow my fiancé will purchase the pin ?. Today the post office told her not to buy bc the pin is only for starting the visa process.

good.gif

I was never able to get a response from them using the email without the '2'.  They seemed to respond fairly quickly to the email with the '2'.  Keep in mind this was back in 2009.

Thanks!  I'll ask her to do that today.  I've been sending emails to Visasbkk@state.gov.

Have your fiancé buy a special pin number from any Thai post office that will allow her to call directly inside the embassy to the I V unit.

What email address are you using?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting on Visa after sending required Documents after Interview

The interview was approved pending my fiancé submitting her 'original copy' of her divorce decree along with her and her daughter's passports.  We sent everything by registered mail and it was received by the embassy on July 29th.  We have been waiting ever since and not a peep from the embassy with no way of contacting them.  We do not know what to do.  I sent email to them the week after and they said they haven't received our documents from their postal department.  I sent another email asking for status Almost 2 weeks ago and no response from them.  Is this normal to experience?

PhilippinesWhat to expect on Personal Evaluation?

Everything should go well. it is just a test...

Did you expect you would go through sputum test too?

Thanks, I'm just worried they'd think I'm indeed psychologically incapacitated. smile.png

I was expecting I'd go through the sputum test too coz I had lung surgery 6 years back which left a scar on my lungs. smile.png

PhilippinesWhat to expect on Personal Evaluation?

I went at SLEC last Monday for my Medical and was asked to come back Sept 10 for a personal evaluation which I have to pay an additional 1000 pesos for. They said all applicants who had an annulment with psychological incapacity as the reason should all go through this personal evaluation thing. What should I expect? Are there people denied after going through this evaluation?

PhilippinesSputum Test?

I'm going at St. Luke's starting tomorrow for 3 consecutive days for the sputum test. I've already foreseen I'd be going through this dreaded test since I had lung surgery and the scar on my lungs just won't disappear so I had a PTB smear test done at Medical City last month just to be sure I'd come up negative, which was negative indeed as I'd hoped. So I just hope I'd come up negative as well on this actual one.

The 8-weeks delay is such a bummer, this whole journey has been really daunting for me and my fiance but we're just keeping our fingers crossed now hoping the culture results turn up negative as well. I've read that if culture results turn up positive, you've have to go through DOT/Treatment for 6 months then wait another 2 months to re-do the whole medical again (and you'd have to pay the medical fee again too). That's gonna be a real nightmare. The 8 weeks wait is really scary but we hope and pray everything turns out well.

PhilippinesQuestion on Affidavit of Support (Poverty Guidelines)

The name of the child was put on the form as "following to come" therefore I would think they will want to see income for 4 not 3.

Whether he actually comes or not may not matter and they may count it as 4 just because the child was put on the form to follow.

I am not sure.

That was what I thought too that's why i asked. Coz if my son is counted we'd have a problem since my fiance's annual income doesn't meet the 125% for 4 household members.

Nope.  He is not applying for a visa therefore is not requiring to be sponsored.   When the day comes he actually applies for the visa THEN it will be 4... but not until.

Just because he is listed on the I-129F only means he is eligible to apply for a visa.

Again thank you Hank for the clarification. :) This gives me peace of mind. :)

PhilippinesQuestion on Affidavit of Support (Poverty Guidelines)

3 - being your son is not getting a visa and coming with you at this time.

I-864P    Income required is $24,412

You will be fine with the $28K income.

Doesn't matter there are only 3 people in this situation.

Thanks so much Hank :)

PhilippinesQuestion on Affidavit of Support (Poverty Guidelines)

Hi VJers,

My Fiance has one dependent (his son). I too have a son but have not filed for K2 for him yet since my ex-husband has full custody and we have not discussed whether he'd allow my son to join me in the US at a later time but my Fiance did put in my son's name on the I-134 form under "Name of children accompanying or following to join person:"

My question is what will be the count of the Sponsor's household size in this case? Will it be 3 (Me, my fiance and his son) or 4 (me, my finace, and our sons)?

Also, his annual income is 28K and he has 4500 Bank savings. Will this be sufficient?

PhilippinesSputum Culture - 8th week mark today. So anxious still.

Wednesday will be a good day for ice cream.  smile.png

Indeed Hank. dancin5hr.gif  It took me 10 hours at SLEC before my X-Ray CD and records were released but the wait was all worth it. I didn't get a shot though coz i just needed the Tetanus shot but SLEC said they were out of stock for that particular shot and would have it only by next month but the nurse said I could still go to the interview and have that vaccine administered in the US.

God is good! Interview is on Tuesday. I'm excited.

Nope I have never read of anyone have to re-do the sputum test after a negative result.

Thanks Hank for the replies. I called again today just to be sure, and was told to bring my passport and 495 pesos for repeat preg test. It looks like you are right, my arms will be sore on Wednesday.

Such a relief! :) I am so happy. dancin5hr.gif

I hope you're right Hank. Do you know any instance were they had the applicant re-do the sputum culture even if it was negative? I'm still being paranoid, I know. biggrin.png

PhilippinesSputum Culture - 8th week mark today. So anxious still.

Update: Just got a call from SLEC a few minutes ago. Got pretty scared because they said if SLEC calls, expect bad news. The lady on the phone asked if I have my med cert (from lung surgery 5 years back) with me and old xray films and I said they're still with me (been too lazy to go to SLEC and submit them). She asked me if I can come by Wednesday or Thursday next week to submit them. I asked her if the culture results are already available and she said to call back on the 12th, I insisted and asked her still and she said it's negative (YEY). She even said they're not allowed to disclose the results over the phone and to pretend I don't know the results yet when I come in next week. (haha) But I thanked her for telling me anyway and giving me a little peace of mind.

Does this mean I'll be cleared now when I present my med cert and old xray films? Or should i still worry?

PhilippinesSputum Culture - 8th week mark today. So anxious still.

Today is the last day of our 8 weeks wait. What a long journey! I'm still nervous about the results though, I tried to call SLEC today (even if I was asked to call on Tuesday) but couldn't get through at all, I re-dialed for an hour and gave up.wacko.png Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. I just really really really want this to be done and over with.

Base on other user's experience, they said that if SLEC didn't call within the 8th week period, the result lean more towards being negative (I pray pray pray this is true.)

Had there been any accounts were result was positive even if SLEC didn't call within the 8th week period?

PhilippinesSlight boo-boo on the I-134 Form - Erasures acceptable or should I leave form as is?

Don't bother bringing the older tax returns from 2011 and 2010 to the interview the CO will not ask for them and they will NOT take them even if you try to give them to him/her.

Thanks Hank. I'll scrap the old tax returns, my folder is too heavy with documents already. I think I'm all set on Tuesday. Yey. :)

Sounds like you provided more than what they ask as you went farther back than requested so Don't worry, You are Fine.

My Fiance and 2 kids had Embassy interview yesterday/Today and passed :-) I keep posting this just because I'm so happy and proud of what we have done with no attorney involved. God bless VJ site :-)

Thanks. I want the interview to run smoothly as possible. :)

PhilippinesSlight boo-boo on the I-134 Form - Erasures acceptable or should I leave form as is?

You should be fine, don't modify the form. It is an easily explainable error that probably won't even come up since the amount he put is above 125% level.

Thanks. I guess it's best to leave the form as is. :)

PhilippinesSlight boo-boo on the I-134 Form - Erasures acceptable or should I leave form as is?

do you have his pay stubs? a copy of his last 3 years of tax transcript and especially 2012. The letter seems fine don't change it because it has an original signature on it.

Yeah he sent me his pay stubs from August to October of this year, 2012, 2011 and 2010 ITRs and the employment letter. I guess I'll just leave the form as is as I don't want any suspicions to arise if the form has erasures.

PhilippinesSlight boo-boo on the I-134 Form - Erasures acceptable or should I leave form as is?

Here is an example of the letter I used for my USEM interview:

This is to certify that [insert the petitioner's name] is an employee at [name of company] and is working as a [title of job] since [date of starting employment with the company]. His current gross salary is [amount] per annum.

If you have any questions regarding [name of petitioner] employment, please contact our office at [insert name and phone number to answer questions].

Sincerely,

Don't change anything on the documents unless you are prepared to create a new document that will become the original.

Good luck

Hi thanks for the reply.

My fiance already sent me the employment letter as well but the thing is what's put in there was his hourly rate and his year to date salary (which is what he earned from Jan-Oct only) and not his gross salary per annum. My Fiance may have thought this was his gross salary per annum so that's what he entered on the I-134 form. Is that okay?

JobienJeckFemalePhilippines2013-11-14 08:55:00
PhilippinesSlight boo-boo on the I-134 Form - Erasures acceptable or should I leave form as is?

I just got the documents needed for the interview that was sent by my Fiance today.

I noticed that on the I-134 form he put in his year-to-date (Jan-Oct 2013) income that was noted in the employment letter he requested from his employer instead of the annual income noted in his 2012 income tax return. His year to date income is still over the 125% poverty guideline, is this okay? Should I leave it as is or should I replace it with his 2012 annual income? If the latter, are erasures acceptable or should I have him re-send the form?

Yes I did, I requested CENOMAR online and what was delivered is called CRS Form No. 5 - Advisory on Marriages. It's some sort of letter stating that I was married but the marriage has been annulled.
