If you would only make a search on Google.

Yeah, That is a really smart comment.......Don't you think that I have done that already? But you should also know that most of the small name hotels are not listed in a Google search. You should also know that there is no advice like the advice of someone who has done it already, someone who has already made the St. Luke Medical and the US Embassy walk. So before you go telling someone to make a simple Google search....I would really think about what they are asking for first

That's really a bummer that you didn't get better responses; I thought you would. There seem to be plenty of fil-am couples here. :) Maybe the regional forums would have been more help for you... live and learn, i guess. :( Anyways, I don't have anything better, and it's probably too late, but maybe digging around here a little would give a little more info:
http://travel.yahoo....ila_vacations-i
The first one on the list, for example, has like 53 reviews, so at least you're not completely blind about how the hotels really are. It looks like the mapping data is a bit askew, though... it says one of the Manila hotels is in Utah. :P Google? What's that? :P Yahoo! has you covered ;)

Also, when I was over there with my wife, this seemed to be the "yellow pages" of choice that she used when we needed to find something (the URL should take you to hotels on roxas blvd, but for some reason isn't completely limiting to manila) :
http://clickthecity...... blvd, manila
perhaps cross referencing these results with the y! ones above would give good data. Anyways... yeah... prolly too late to be helpful, but in case you can still use it, hope that it's helpful. ttyl,

One more thing I found... people writing about their trips to Manila:

I don't think this as close as you'd like, but it was a nice place and we'd definitely stay there again (including for immigration stuff) :

http://www.mnlceosuites.com.ph/

Nice, friendly staff, pool, TV/VHS, movies to borrow, free breakfast, etc. like the website says. :) Have your wife call for the reservation; they'll give much better rates to filipinos. You should be able to get them down to at least about US$40/night. In case you don't have any options left... ttyl,

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInterview Prep

Yeah...

I have HEAPS of cards from our wedding in Aberdeen, and a great autograph book as well.
I shouldn't have taken them back to NY with me, but that's life...

Yes, I agree. I feel the same...easy as it may be in Sydney or London-why take the chance if it's so simple to prevent. I am going to send it out soon, even though we are still waiting for a date... just in case something gets delayed with mail. I have 2 copies made here as well, just in case...I have found that this entire process is easier if you anticipate that there will be bumps in the road, and do your best to be wily and outsmart any possibility of something getting screwed up...

As for your interview...I can imagine what it must feel like...so much excitement, so much to look forward to ! All you have been waiting for is happening ! I cannot think of a better way to feel !!! You are going to ace it ! After that, have a few drinks and relax with your friends & family and bask in your success !

:D

In a different thread, I suggested a few things that might be helpful (or might not). I agree with you that the well-being part is important too. :) ttyl,

In the AOS fee bill, there is the field called 'Visa Classification'. What should i enter? Is it IR-1 or CR-1. I got married in jan 2006. So will it be CR-1 ?

CR-1. It would be IR-1 if you were already married for two years. ttyl,

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI think I made a huge mistake...

I am soo upset right now!! I mailed my husband his package on the 25th and was told by DHL that it would take 3 days. I went through everything that is in the package as well as the DHL guy packaged it. However, since the 26th it has been stuck in Customs! They have no idea when it will be released and even if they did release it back to me, I don't have enough time to mail another package!

This package has packet 4. His interview letter and his paper that he needs to take to his medical.

I called DHL and begged that they do anything that they can. However, I was told, "this happens all the time with Iran". Why didn't they tell me that when I mailed it?!!?!

So, any ideas guys? Maybe I can get the NVC to mail me another package and have it faxed to my husband in Iran?? I can't believe this is happening 8 days before his interview!!!!

:help:

I don't have any help to offer, but i do hope that one of these paths previously posted will get you going. Good luck joye (and Ali). ttyl,

Hi all,

I used James' shortcut to send AOS fee bill. I made a AOS bill word copy with May 29, 2006 as bill date, after listening to automated voice recording @ NVC. Now I got the original AOS bill fee letter, it has the date of May 30, 2006.

I hope it is not any problem. any comments.

Thank you

I'm about half a step behind you, so I can't speak authoratively, but I doubt anyone would even really look at that, especially since most people aren't generating their own. I would imagine as long as the barcode works, no one will even look at the rest of it. :P When you're at the market, how many times do the checkers actually watch what they're scanning? ;) ttyl,

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresChanging the Maiden Name in the Passport

I'm a us citizen and i applied I-130 for my spouse in India. It has been approved by CIS and forwarded to NVC.

My question is, does my spouse have to change her name in the Indian Passport to reflect her married name? If it has to be changed, would it make any difference if it is done today or right before the interview at the chennai consulate?

Thanks

hi,

You don't have to change the name. In fact some countries won't let you get a new passport with the name change until its time for renewal. We inquired about it (Philippines) because we wanted the passport to reflect the name change, however we were told that we couldn't have that done, but that they would put in a special "stamp" to show the married name.

We'll prolly end up with the stamp too since her passport doesn't expire until 2009, but I still think it's important to make the effort. That's who my wife is now, mrs. mich ;) Other than sentimental reasons for this, we also thought it might be prudent for two reasons: first, all our paperwork is filed in her married name and second, to absolve any doubts the CO might have in the interview. While it might be just a stamp, at least nobody can say that we didn't do what we could. two more cents for you ;) ttyl,

mich

PS - jazzy - my wife had to go to the CFO for her passport name change and they told her that she'll not have to go through it again later for her visa. iirc, they just told her she'll go back and get a sticker. A nice way to get one thing out of the way early :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAfter NVC Case Number assigned

Cygnet --- Once she signs DS3032, shold I ask her to mail me and then can I mail that to NVC? Or NVC wants her signed DS3032 mailed directly from her to the NVC?

Please let me know.

I don't think it matters to NVC whether she mails it or you mail it for her. I (the beneficiary) mailed it because I'm just up in Canada (takes only a few days for them to receive it). I don't know how long it would take for her to mail letters from India.

Is it possible for her to get the computer-generated version of the DS3032? If she can, it would be better for her to maybe fill it out, sign it and then mail it to you right away (like, tomorrow maybe?). You don't even have to wait for NVC to send you the form. I'm assuming you will be the designated agent for your case. Once you get the form from NVC, just mail in the signed DS3032 from your spouse.

Hope that helps...

She can get an access to form on her PC. As I'm looking at the form, it requires to put the barcode sticker of your case number. I've a case number but I don't have a sticker. So that means do I have to wait until atleast she gets DS3032 in India?

If I ask her to fill out the form (without barcode), sign it and mail it to me tomorrow, then I'll have a form without the barcode sticker. Would NVC accept this?

Thanks again.....

See the link in my sig about how to generate barcodes and such. it's the link that says something about aussiewench's NVC or something like that. however, make absolutely sure that you're comfy with these if you choose to use them. If you're not comfy, then you should wait it out for the real documents to arrive. These timesavers are, of course, not approved by the NVC, and are used at your own risk.

Regarding waiting for the info to arrive, I was a day before you... got my case number 22 May, and I still haven't received anything either, so your wait isn't abnormal, it seems. ttyl,

howdy john -

Not a problem, I try to help as I can. :) Hopefully I'm being of some assistance to you. And if I'm not, I hope someone will correct me!

Yes, that is the address that was printed on the fee bill and return envelope. I notice now that the address stated in the timesaver thread is correct, but it is incorrect in the AoS Fee Bill document. The document has this incorrect address (maybe an old one? maybe it still works? i'd rather not test it with my bill to find out ;) ):

National Visa Center
P.O. Box 952200
St. Louis, MO 63195-2200

Hopefully someone has fixed that later in the thread, but I still haven't had time to go through it yet. You don't think I just answer questions on here all day? just kidding.

All I really have to guess at what you might expect from the NVC is my own experience and keep in mind that's all this is. My DS-3032 and AoS Fee Bill were generated exactly a week after my case number was assigned. However, for whatever reason, it didn't show up on the automated system until the week after that - the day before it actually arrived in the mail. So I guess it actually arrived about 2.5 weeks after I was assigned a case number. So if your timeline is anything like mine (which is unlikely, but just for estimation purposes), the forms would get generated on the 14th, the info line would tell you about it on the 20th, and you would receive them on the 23rd (or maybe a day or two sooner if you're closer to the east coast). This is complete guesswork, so don't make plans or assumptions.

Yeah, the waiting sucks... but such is the government here. And as noted in this thread: http://www.visajourn...showtopic=16920 it could be even worse! Can you imagine how all these massively impatient people would handle getting a driver's license at the DMV? I just use the time as an opportunity to prepare the other things that we'll need - like the interview evidence. A couple weeks will pass before you know it. ttyl,

Hi Mich,

how y'all doing up there! Thanks for that detailed reply. Like you mentioned i'll concentrate on speeding up things on the right hand side; ie, the DS 3032, IV bill etc.

Now, was this the Return address for your AOS Fee Bill:
National Visa Center
P.0.Box 790135
St. Louis, MO 63179-0135

I'll keep you posted about what's happening. So according to what you said, NVC could most probably generate my DS3032 & AOS bill by next week? They assigned the case number on 6/7/06.

thanks

howdy john -

i would have come back to this post - no need to put it again ;) it's been a busy week :P

Anyways, to answer your question, you're right. I didn't send back the AoS Fee Bill as soon as it was generated. This side of the NVC track is really the lesser of the two to cause you concern. The AoS track is usually faster according to the timesavers thread, so the right hand side (DS-3032, IV Bill, and DS-230) is really the one that you need to keep in control.

Because I've been pretty busy the last couple days, I haven't had a chance to review the entire timesavers thread to see if anyone had posted the same issue that I saw, but hope to address that this weekend. Until I hear that other people aren't having issues with this, I'd personally advise (based only on my own experience) to wait until you get your AoS Fee Bill just in case the PO Box is different (maybe I'm just special :energetic: ). Waiting for the AoS Fee Bill to arrive shouldn't slow you down, from what I can tell since that's the faster half of the NVC process and getting that half done early just means that you get to wait longer on the other half. ;) Remeber that your case is not complete in the NVC until both tracks are completed and reviewed.

However, I'll tell you that emailing the NVC instead of sending the DS-3032 (as suggested in the timesavers thread) seems to work pretty well. :) The automated thingee at the NVC was updated really late Monday night my time (I'm in California) and told us the DS-3032 had been generated, so I had my wife send the email on Tuesday and we got the reply two days later on Thursday... So if this means that we've had our DS-3032 information entered into the system, I estimate that we may have saved about a week and a half of sending forms back and forth. The actual DS-3032 arrived for me on the 7th, then round trip Fedex to the Philippines (4-5 days) or at least 1 way if I had just sent her a scanned pdf, then a day or so more for priority mail to the NVC, then a few (or so) more days for it to be entered from the form. Hopefully (!!) I'll get the IV bill next week or early the week after, but we'll see. So this may be of more help to you if you're trying to make sure you do what you can to expedite your NVC processing. Naturally you can keep up to date with my timeline. That's one of the first things I think of when I get a new form or get to a new step in the process - "Have to update my timeline!" :P

I'm also going to be posting my results on the timesavers thread when I have definitive results so that others can easily find all the info in one place. I'm also "auditing" all the barcode stuff too ;) I've generated all the forms from that thread and will match them up as I go along to make sure nothing has changed.

Hope this helps! Feel free to keep asking questions ;) ttyl,

mich

PS - Have you checked out the timesavers thread? I'm guessing you have since you're talking about sending forms that they haven't sent you yet, but I'm not sure. It seems like some of your questions are covered there, but maybe I just read them in another thread somewhere else. :P After working on this for 5 months, it's all starting to run together, I think.

Mich,

So you didn't send the AOS Fee Bill as soon as they were generated! Well i guess i'll also wait. Don't want to delay anything b/c of my stupidity! So did you get any info on that zipcode and po box change for the AOS Fee bill ?

yeah, the message was different. it gave me the date that they were generated (which wasn't the date on the AoS Fee Bill). I would wait at least until they've been generated. I'm pretty sure that's what's recommended even in all the timesavers - that you don't send them forms that they haven't generated yet. it's probably way too early for you to send them yet. you'll note in my sig that mine weren't even generated until a week after i got my case number. also, i noticed that the PO box and zip code for my AoS Fee Bill were different than that in the document in the timesavers thread. so they might have changed something. not sure. i'm going to post over there to see if anyone else has seen anything similar. stay on top of things, but don't :clock: ttyl,

Well, my question is about the automated system response. The system says something like this:

Will it be safe to send in the signed DS3032 form now? The system doesn't say anything about the AOS Fee Bill. Can i send the AOS Fee bill now or should wait? How can i get some information on the AOS Fee bill?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow long from Approval to interview?
Hey isabel,

you should check out the immigration timelines link above. That should hopefully give you a good idea of how things are going in your processing center. Everyone that updated their timeline helps make those numbers accurate, so it can be a much more helpful number than individual responses. :) This should help you with figuring out how long you'll be at the USCIS and how long you'll take to have an interview. I agree with cygnet that the NVC is probably mostly dependent on how quickly you can get the forms back to them. There is time that it takes on their side for entering things and such, but if you sit on the DS-3032 (or pretty much anything on the right hand track) for a week, then you're pushing yourself back for a while. ;) Also, you might post your question (or see if someone else already did) about the embassy in the embasssy forums where you might get a better response (than in the general IR/CR forum) from people in the same boat as you at the same place :) Good luck! ttyl,

mich

Hy guys,

Ah. I understand so clearly what you mean. I also had a really hard time understanding the person at the NVC with which I talked. Wouldn't that be a fun irony if the NVC call center was outsourced to some other country?

Yeah, those fillable forms aren't quite the best. I didn't even bother using the PC to fill in the dates since they were screwy. That and a couple other places that the format was incorrect in the pdf, I just wrote by hand with my most pretty handwriting.

Good luck on your fixed form! ttyl,

Hey there!! I should probably give a lot more detail just in case anyone else has this issue (duh! I don't know why I didn't think of that before!).

OK - so what I thought was "six wrong things" actually ended up being that there was a perceived six month gap on the application for where Josh had lived, which triggers a problem because you're supposed to account for where you've lived for anywhere longer than six months. The person I spoke to over the phone at NVC didn't speak with the clearest accent so it could have been a miscommunication on her part or a misunderstanding on mine.

As far as what the error was: I had used the PDF form where you could enter the information on the computer before printing. If you go to Item #20 you'll see that the date format is different from the others. I think that, in error, they didn't separate the fields of "FROM" and "UNTIL", like they did with all the other columns - so what ended up happening was that I couldn't put 01-1978/06-2006 in that field like I could with the others. I didn't realize that and so what I did was (stupidly) break up the dates onto two lines, which looked really weird now that I realize that the format was supposed to be From/Until or 01-1978/06-2006. I just printed the form out and wrote that in manually this time.

Hope that makes sense! It's a little hard to explain.

Good that it was an easy fix for you. :)

When they told you that there were six incomplete things, they were wrong? Or you had six times that you accidentally messed up the dates? Was it a real gap or was it something like having employment dates that end one month and start in the next? Good luck with your amended form. ttyl,

mich

UPDATE!!!

So I got the letter today...and I could totally kick myself because the mistake I made was so stupid and I didn't even notice it! I made a strange error on Item 20 with regard to the dates that made it look like there was a gap in time when there really wasn't.

I'm sending it on back tomorrow and really really hope it gets a move on now! Thanks for all of your help!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresW7 tax form
QUOTE (KipandSarahJayne @ Feb 25 2008, 06:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Thought I'd just remind everyone that it's coming up to tax filing time again in the US ..... and for those who don't know, but would like to file jointly with their spouses can, even without a SSN.

The link below takes you to the W7 tax form for you to fill out and send to your spouse. Print off the pages and read the instructions carefully.
As a foreign national not living in the US you can still file jointly as married.

I have personally seen a benefit to this as 'possibly' it will mean more of a tax refund, and also a copy could be sent in with your AOS financial form ..... therefore showing more proof of a marriage in my books.
It makes another financial tie which I feel would look good.

Make sure you keep photocopies of all forms sent to the tax office! .... more stuff for you to take to your interview just incase good.gif

As a foreign national all you have to do ..... according to the instructions attached to the form .....is send with the W7 a certified copy of your passport. This covers all the necessary identification documentation and proof of foreign nationality ..... you will not need a SSN.

Therefore, you should be able to find a lawyer who can do this quite cheaply for you in your own country.
In England ..... for those from here, it is costing me £5 to get each document certified .... I'm going for biographic page and the cover of the passport .... so it will be £10 .... I can't see it costing £100's, but do call around.
They're not asking for it to be notarised .... only certified.

Send the form and certified copy of your passport ASAP to your spouse in the US (I'd use a postal service which requires a signature at the end, to make sure it gets there) and all he/she has to do is send it with his/her tax form when filed.
You will then be issued a tax number in your own name ..... and it will be sent to the address which you enter into the applicant's mailing address section (I'm putting my US address in this section).

I hope this has been helpful eb0dfafc.gif

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw7.pdf

I will also post this in the K3 forum.

Just additional info. of what my tax preparer told me................
to make sure I direct deposit my refund to my bank.......bacause I will get a hard time cashing my check ..If I didn't do so. it requires 2 signature.....eventhough your spouse sign the check.....some bank won't cash it ..not unless both name in the bank account. I don't know how true is this. But I won't take any chances, infact it's less hassle...........

I have my wife send me a passport......filed my federal. Filled up W7..........and took passport, W7 and marriage certificate to IRS office. Since I don't want to send original passport thru mail. it's way faster this way.......

Hey VJ Family,
I have a quick question... My husband had his interview on 08/28 and he was given a blue sheet (AP g 221) and was asked to check the embassy's website routinely for more info. He is from Iran and was interviewed in Abu Dhabi. We are married and have a new born baby. Does any of you know approximately how long will it take for him to get a visa. My son was born premature and he might need a open heart surgery and I can't imagine going through it by myself. :crying: Any help suggestions would be grate! THANK YOU

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVaccinations needed for Medical Exam
Can someone who has already gone through IR1/CR1 Medical Examination process elaborate on how they handled the big list of Vaccinations list here:

http://travel.state....cinations_are_1

I have gone through the forums but did not find satisfactory answers.

This info is needed for my wife (age 24) in Hyderabad (India) who will be getting interview at Chennai Consulate in ~1.5 months.

Any folks who have recently completed this step for Chennai Consulate please provide input.
Will the Lister Metropolis Laboratory in Chennai do them?

Any one from Hyderabad who have done this step?
Can we get necessary vaccinations from any physician/lab in Hyd? Are there authorized ones in Hyd?

Or should we just get it all done at the time of Medical Examination? What is the cost/benefit of doing this?

Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 Q23: Educational Institutions - Only College or HS too?
My wife's present address (where she currently works) is different State from where she attended her College (3 yrs ago).
Do we need to furnish PCC from the locality of her College?

I called the NVC Rep and was told if both are in same Country then no need to obtain PCC for College stay. But in the NVC - Embassy web page it says:

IF the applicant… ---------------------------------------------------- AND… -------------------------- THEN the applicant needs a police certificate from…

is living in their country of nationality at their --------- is 16 years old or older ----------- the police authorities of that locality.
current residence for more than 6 months

lived in a different part of their country of ------------- was 16 years or older at that time ---- the police authorities of that locality.
nationality for more than 6 months

For the school, we listed everything down to elementary school. I've read that some people don't go past high school.

as for the attachments, we had three attachments.

ours were for question 22, 23, and 25

so we put "see attachment #1" for 22, "see attachment #2" for 23, etc...instead of trying to fit it in

Wowswift,

How did you list the non-College education in the format they asked? What did you write for "Course of Study" and "Diploma"?

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 Q23: Educational Institutions - Only College or HS too?
I'm filing IR1/CR1 for my spouse in Hyderabad, India. I need some help filling DS-230.

Q23. List below all educational institutions attended.

What to exactly write in fields for "COURSE OF STUDY" and "DEGREE OR DIPLOMA" which are pretty small in size?

This is what I have so far (example). Is it good enough?
The full course is "Electrical and Communications Engineering".

SCHOOL AND LOCATION FROM/TO (mm-yyyy) COURSE OF STUDY DEGREE OR DIPLOMA

Anna University, Chennai, India 07-2002 04-2006 Engineering Bachelor

Do we need to also list High School (11th, 12th) or Intermediate 1st, 2nd yrs, Secondary school (?-10th) etc.?
And what to write in these last 2 columns for them?

Q. If any of you have attached additional sheets because of lack of space, what did you write in DS-230 for that question? Is "SEE ATTACHMENT" ok?

Q. If Applicant, Father and Mother do not have Middle Name, is it must to put "N/A" or should be left Blank?

Q20. List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Begin
with your present residence

If applicant stayed at Hostel for the 4 yrs of College, should that address be listed here?

Will this mean that applicant must obtain PCC From College Hostel address also? Hostel is in different State from her present address but in the same Country.

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDo we need 1 or 2 PCCs from Hyderabad/India?
QUOTE (cricplyr @ Aug 31 2008, 09:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello Falcon,
Just a FYI.. You do need PCC from local police station and passport office. I submitted my DS230 with just PCC from local police station but NVC won't complete the case until I submit PCC from passport office too.

Can you tell me for which City you are getting PCC verification for? And which City is your Passport issued at?

My wife just scanned me a copy of PCC she got from District Police Station, Hyderabad and it has ACP signature plus seal of "Inspector of Police, Passport & Foreigners Section, Special Branch, Cyberabad".

So my thinking is if passport issued and address verification is in same City, then probably we get only 1 PCC.

My wife's got her Passport from Hyd and address to be verified is also Hyd. The Passport Office folks also sent her to "Passport & Foreigners Section" of Police Dept.

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDo we need 1 or 2 PCCs from Hyderabad/India?
I'm applying for IR1/CR1 for my spouse in Hyderabad, India. I'm going through the PCC requirement for India.

My wife got her Passport from Hyderabad 3 years ago. She has been living at her permanent (passport) address ever since she got her Passport.

Based on this, do we need 2 PCCs? 1) from Local Passport Office 2) From District Police Station

She talked to Hyderabad Passport Office and they said they don't provide any "additional" clearance certificate to what the District Police Station provides as PCC. She has applied at the District Police Station and should be getting a PCC in a week.

Do we need to do any additional step at the Hyderabad Passport Office?

Can any one who has already obtained PCC from Hyderabad and had it accepted by NVC can please reply on what they did?

I have read many VSJ posts on PCC in India and lot of people have posted saying they got 2 PCCs. Does it apply to my case also?

Police Records

Indian Police Clearance Certificates should be obtained as follows:

* All Indian IV applicants aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police certificates from the local Passport Office. These are usually more dependable than those obtained at a local level and indicate that the subject had no serious criminal convictions on record at the time of passport issuance. Applicants whose Indian passport was issued within the past six months may present just the Passport Office Police Certificate, and need not obtain additional police clearances.
* Applicants over age 16, whose passports were issued more than six months previous to visa application, must also obtain a police clearance from the District Police Office serving the applicant's place of residence.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshuby's interview in chennai
Hi SKluvSH and Hyd617,

Can you please clarify for me - did you guys have to take 1 or 2 PCCs? 1) Hyd Passport Office 2) District Police Station

It seems this process varies from place to place in India. My wife has been in Hyd since the time of Passport Issuance (3 yrs ago). Since her permanent residence and her passport office are both in Hyd, Hyd Passport Office said they are not going to give any separate PCC from what District Police Station will provide.

Is there some extra seal/stamp that Hyd Passport Office must put on the PCC?

Thanks

Can you give me some details about the Medical Appt and exam?
Is there any preparation that can be done *before* the exam? like vaccination records etc.

My wife is in Hyd and she is the benficiary/applicant. I'm US Citizen, her petitioner. We are currently waiting for IV bill.
She applied for Police Clearance at local Police station in Hyd and was told that it can take 10-15 days. Her passport is 2 yrs old.
Is this expected time for PCC in Hyd or is there way to get it faster?

Also some posts said get Income Tax Clearance before leaving India. Is this something you looked into?

Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat happens after NVC setup Interview?
Hello All,

I'm (US Citizen) filing IR1/CR1 for my spouse (24yrs) who is in Hyderabad, India. My stage now is waiting for Interview Date from NVC. I've contacted NVC today and they said that all document processing is completed. They could not setup Visa Interview in Oct because of limit reached. I'm expecting Visa Interview in 1st or 2nd week of Nov 2008.

I'd like to know what are next steps from here on. Here are few questions:

1) Is there a way we can find out what vaccinations she may need to take and have them done before she visits Med Exam?
I'm concerned about Vaccination costs if we leave it up to Embassy approved physicians.

2) Finger printing is done on the Interview Day at the same place?
Is there any delay in processing or verifications of fingerprints?

3) I've already paid Aff of Supp and IV bill to NVC. What other payments
What other documents and payments need to be made from Beneficiary side to Embassy?
On Chennai Embassy, I read that Courier fees need to be paid to VFS. I don't see anything else applicable to me.

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 petition for a Tourist VISA holder fiancee
Hi,

I'm a U.S. Citizen and my fiancee is Filipino Citizen working in Dublin right now. We've met already here in the U.S. 2 weeks ago using her Tourist VISA. We want to get married. I did some research and actually spoke to two lawyers and also read the help page from Visa journey (very helpful by the way, but im still confused).

Lawyer #1 told me that we should "NOT" plan to get married prior to her arrival here and we should "decide" on getting married after staying here for 60 days. His recommendation was to use the 1-130 but my fiancee should go back to the philippines while paperwork is being processed. He said not to use the Adjustment of status route.

Lawyer #2 said that we should apply for a fiancee visa and have her go back to manila and wait for another 6-9 mos till she gets the visa.

Visa journey: It said that we can get married anytime but if my spouse has an intention of getting married and immigrating here which really is our intention then she might get deported or denied. And that she should go back to manila after getting married and then wait for the paperwork.

I'm confused. From the USCIS it said that as long as she entered legally here in the US we can apply for the 1-130 and at the same time apply for an AOS.

Confused Reggie

hi.. im scheduled on feb 5 for my interview and im freakin out!!! im worried bout my chances on having my visa approved..

im a 25 yr old filipina, happily married for 1 year and 8 mos to a 27 yr old wonderful filipino, he's a naturalized USC.

enough on our background.. wink.gif here's my problem. we only have photos (more than 200), joint bank account, money transfer receiptsand few chat logs as proofs of a bona fide marriage. are these enough?

we've been communicating over the phone and he uses cards coz its cheaper so we dont have phone bills to show..

and since we're communicating over phone twice a day everyday, there's no need for us to communicate thru emails. do consuls ask for emails?

do we need more proofs? do we need a 3rd party affidavit as an additional proof?

also, ive seen in some very recent posts that they were asked to submit new affidavit of support and w2 2008 before their visa will be realeased.

my hubby doesnt have his w2 2008 yet and itr cannot be filed up until early february.

some says recent itr (2007) is ok coz filing itr will be until april 15 and waiting for the filed itr can result to delays.

i dont know what to believe. im sooooooo confused and im really really worried.

guyz please help me..

i need prayers too..

sad.gif

I had my AOS interview yesterday here in Cali, they did not ask for the W2 2008.
