K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCASE STATUS AT NVC
QUOTE (Missy1 @ Nov 12 2007, 08:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I AM SO SHOCKED RIGHT NOW. THE REASON WHY I AM SO CONCERNED IS THAT I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT MY FIANCE IS PREPARED FOR THE INTERVIEW. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT PUSHING THE DATE BACK OR NOT BEING PREPARED WITH THE MEDICAL AND THE PAPER WORK. OKAY....JUST MEANS THAT I NEED TO CALL EVERY SINGLE DAY UNTIL I HEAR THAT THEY HAVE SENT IT TO THE CONSULATE.
THANKS MR2NICE!

I see that you filed at Vermont Service Center, which means that they will send out your NOA2 to NVC a lot quicker than CSC. From what I've seen, it takes about a week to forward the case to NVC. For CSC, it takes about 3-5 weeks. wacko.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCASE STATUS AT NVC
QUOTE (Missy1 @ Nov 12 2007, 08:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I AM SO UPSET....NO ONE TOLD ME THAT!!!!!! A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE HAD MENTIONED IT ON MY THREAD BUT SHE'S NOT ONLINE RIGHT NOW AND I JUST COULDN'T HELP BUT ASK MY VJ FAMILY. I HAVE BEEN USING THE AUTOMATED SERVICE FOR OVER A WEEK TO CHECK THE STATUS AND I HAD GOTTEN NO WHERE. WOW! IF THIS IS TRUE THAN I HAVE WASTED PRECIOUS TIME!

THANKS FOR REPLYING SO QUICKLY

The automated system at NVC are not accurate. Although NVC have sent out our NOA2 to the consulate, their automated system still says that there's no record of our case ever received. It's best to talk to a Live Operator to ensure a more accurate response. Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresName Problem.....
Does the petition have a field for "other name used." That's what women use to list their maiden name. You could use it for the other version of your name. Then USCIS would not be surprised to see both names used.

QUOTE (knewx01 @ Jul 29 2008, 05:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I WANT TO KNOW WHAT DOES THE 2008 MEAN.......................DOES THAT MEAN THAT THE PETITION WAS FILLED ON 2008??

2008 = the year NVC receive your approved application from UCIS
643 = (Julian date code) 143 days in a year +500, = May 22nd, 2008 the exact date NVC receive your approved application from USCIS.
012 = Your are number 12 petitions disignated in that particular date.
SDO = Country code (Embassy)

I hope my addition is right!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnyone been approved for K1 with only one visit
QUOTE (mstamiz2much @ Dec 16 2008, 02:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I have a question...I know the requirements for the K1 is that you only have to met your SO once within the past 2 years...I know it also looks better the more visits you have to see your SO... Im filing the end of December and am trying to go back in March to see my SO again, but if something happens and not able to go financially then (before interview comes) wanting to know if that lowers our chances of being approved...I was just wondering has anyone been approved just going once to see their SO on the K1?...

I know an office mate who was approved in just one visit by her fiancee'. But just make sure that you have enough proof to show them that your relationship is real.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMarraige before K1 approval
We really don't want to wait anymore to get married. I will be visiting her in October in the Philippines and would love to marry her.

What implications are there to the K1 Visa process if we are married while still waiting for her Visa? Do we have to be married in the US to fulfill the 90 day requirement?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat does this notice mean???
I had received the same message a while back. Called and asked them why and was told that because my fiancée's mother sent in a petition for him prior to me sending in mine, that they had changed his previous Alien# associated with her petition and changed his Alien # relating to the I129F that I had filed for him. Not saying this may too be the case for you, but that is what they explained to me. Good Luck on your Journey :-) :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswonderful just F******G wonderful
my initial response to the last two post was "whatever" but then i went back and read them again. i must take exception with you two, mr make send it regesterd and mr mild manner. most of the people here are supportive and responsive to my venting frustration with the USPS, but you two find it necessary to attack me personally with an attittude. at first i was a bit angry but then i just had to laugh at you two. obviously you dont get it so i will spell it out.

it is really quite simple, i havent blamed anyone for anything other then they cant deliver my mail to me SOME of the time. other times they seem to get it right. so i ask, how hard can it be to read an address? its just numbers and letters. i get my mail, i correct my mistake sign my check and send it back via FedEX again (note regestered, signed, trackable, like the I-129F package) and everyone is happy. but they (insert idiots) lost my mail and i cant correct my mistakce.

but with your and mr mild manner posts i can only guess your next response would be something stupid like, if you signed the check this wouldnt have happened. i love that logic like delivering mail hinges on other my penmanship. with this logic if we gave thiefs money they wouldnt have to steal it. the USPS screwed up and its that simple, they lost a very important piece of my mail. who knows whats next, my NOA or maybe something you need? if that happens i suspose that will be my fault as well.

I dont see where this is everyone elses fault and everyone is an idiot if he didnt sign the check.

As the above poster stated...learn from this....put the package back together remember and double check to sign the check this time and re-send it.

when my mail is not delivered, when it is returned to sender even though i still live there has nothing to do with signing or not signing a check. deliver my mail, i sign the check and everybody is happy. lose my mail, keep my mail, send it back for no reason what so ever, deliver it to who knows where, i'm sorry but that makes them idiots.

i sent the package in and it was recieved and signed for on 12/29/08. until now i have not received anything from the USCIS, nada, zero, mayo, zilch, nothing, check has not cleared the bank nothiing. so i called them this morning to try and find out what has happened. well guess what, like an idiot i forgot to sign the check so they rejected it but that isnt the bad part. they returned the package via USPS to me on 12/30/08. well guess what i have never received it. up to now i have not seen a thing. I should have been concerned earlier as other people were getting my mail they sent me, like christmas cards, as undeliverable return to sender. why? who the hell knows! i have an idiot for a postman!! i have called the USPS and as you might guess they were worthless.

un*******believeable.

so where does this leave me? i could have the USCIS do a search to see if they had it returned to them as well. it would take 30 days and who knows if anything would turn up. sounds like a total waste of time to me. putting the package back together is no big deal, except for the original signatures from cathy. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH talk about a downer. she is going to be bummed. IDIOTS!!!!!

again i am reminded that 90% of people who say they know what they are doing dont or market themselves as experts arent. mediocrity is excellence for the mediocre.

since this is a family forum i wont type what i really want to type. \

have a good day

Sorry I forgot to state:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProposed Civil Partnership/ Fiancee visa
Hello, New here...just signed up today. HELLO EVERYONE!!!! I'm Sarah

I am in DESPERATE need of some help. Me and my Fiancé and about to start this process and I am so confused about how the Fiancée visa all works. If anyone could please please help me out it would be much appreciated.

As of right now my fiancé and I halted on applying for the Fiance visa because I was told a decent amount of money to prove she can support me would have to be in the bank account for 3 months. Well it hasn’t been there for 3 months because I had no idea this needed to happen and she had previous trips planned. Is that fact true does it need to be in there 3 months? And what is the amount they look for? I figured better to have more in her account than in mine, we both work full time at the moment, although I make more than she does. The problem we are having is with the income she makes (which is small, bad economy in England) would not be much, but with what I make now (and also a 10k car I will be selling once the visa is approved) is that going to bode badly with immigration? We a slightly worried that they will see she makes a smaller amount and not take what I have into account. Obviously after the 6 months I will immediately start work, should I mention this in the Visa application. I wire her a little money every time I get paid to help out.

We just now got a place which we put as our new address on the application but I am quite worried that they will think she can’t support me financially, which between her and me we can. Any suggestions, I already got a 1500 loan from family (exchange rate aside). Also will it help a lot of we have a family members from both sides writing a letter stating they will be our co sponsor and help us out financially?

Right now we are very stressed with getting all the documents together, worried about the money problem, how likely is it to be denied. We want more than anything to be able to have a life together and its so hard being apart as well as knowing that our fate is in someone else’s hands. I have a bunch of questions about the application itself and the whole process of what to do after the application is completed and ready to turn in. If what we heard about the 3 months is true that’s another 5 months we have to go through before we even have an answer (3 months of waiting then 2 months of waiting for the application)

We are very scared and I have never done this before and would GREATLY appreciate some help. It seems that if I ask an immigration lawyer for help even if it is just a few questions they just want your money. I’m desperate at this point, please help.
