K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F - CSC NOA-2 in 96 days!!
The workflow at the service centers is a mystery to myself and most of us - it is a black hole our hopes and $340 check enter to emerge with an 'adjudication' an indeterminate number of days later. Like many here I was in the habit of checking my USCIS status morning and night, so I know there was no sign of activity between when they logged it in on April 20th until they approved it on July 24th.

It is my understanding that each adjudicator works on a number of applications at once, and if the application is complete and raises no red flags they can and will approve that one and continue working on the applications which need additional research by the adjudicator or evidence from the petitioner. I assume that our application was moved with others in the same date range to an adjudicator and, as there were no problems found, approval was granted. The good news is the top of the stack of I-129F applications is April which is well within their 'goal' of five-month processing (for us it was three months and six-days).

Now that CSC is working down its backlog they may be able to help out the VSC. I wish everyone a speedy passage through whichever service center they are at the mercy of.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F - CSC NOA-2 in 96 days!!
Working overtime indeed - got an email with a 9:00 PM timestamp letting us know that our I-129F visa application was approved. NOA-1 was April 19, so the CSC is well into the stack of April applications. I had been getting discouraged about getting Jamnan here before the weather turns cold, wet, and dark - maybe we get to see the leaves turn in Yosemite. Having a 9:00 PM email gave me the opportunity to call and pass on the good news and tell her that, no, I don't really know when, but at least the big first step is done.

Thanks for providing lots of reassurance over the months.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsReturn flight cancellation
Always try for a one-way frequent-flyer miles ticket that works for you - they are always half the miles of a round-trip ticket. Once you find a flight for your fiancee, you book on the same flight, may need to beg and plead to get seats together as FF tickets don't allow seat selection far in advance, but the airlines still harbor a few romantics.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports221(g) Refusal at K1 Interview in Thailand. "Your Fiance Has Many Women!!" Player!"
Like to bring the conversation to the 'bolded' section of OP's post:

your fiance has many, many women and he is a player! He doesn't love you and he's not going to marry you. Do you know that he has filed many K1 petitions for women in the past? Why would you think that he is ever going to marry you? I don't believe that you are telling the truth about going to the US to marry this man

We are told that OP had filed an earlier K1 petition, and had met his financee on-line three years ago. As part of my petition I needed to submit all entry stamps; the statement above indicates that much of the suspicion is directed towards the petitioner, not the beneficiary. If there numerous visits before they met the CO may be justified in suspecting that the OP is a player. Of course this may be way off-base, but maybe the focus on the fiancee is misplaced.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportscan someoene help me!!

We hired an in-country attorney for Jamnan who did much of the leg work for her and filled out the documents.  The cost was approximately $1600, which I saw as a bargain having paid attornies her in civil matters - I looked on it as potentially saving me a trip and us some time.  Once we received the visa and we got married we filed for the green card ourselves as the paperwork really is pretty self explanatory.  We managed to get through the process with a minimum of delay or angst - a year and a day from first meeting to greencard in the mail.

An important consideration is whether your fiancee can navigate their country's bureaucracy well enough to obtain necessary documents, find a translator, and fulfill other in-country obligations.  While some couples can easily work through these things together, others will find the process overwhelms the relationship.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAfter entering at US whats next for marriage?
We got married at the Alameda County Clerk's office where we had obtained our license earlier for around a hundred dollars. Remember to get extra copies of the certified marriage certificate (get at least four, you never know when you will be required to produce one for inspection prior to an an official accepting a copy).

The wedding was held in a tasteful private room with a deputy clerk officiating. We brought best man, maid of honor, a flower girl and her mom to the ceremony which cost around eighty dollars and seven for each original marriage certificate. Good thing we had the flower girl as the two adult women we reluctant to catch the flowers.

Remember to find out how long it will take to obtain the certficate - you can't file to adjust status without an original certificate. For us we added the cerificate and sent the package off on the way out of town on our honeymoon.

Question - your profile states you filed at the Bangkok Embassy - are you using direct filing or filing in the U.S.. Direct filing has a much different (and shorter) time line if you have the required six-months residence.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresE-mailing Consulate to Speed up Interview Date?
We wrote and asked for and received an earlier appointment. We were polite and assured them we were ready to interview and able to to travel on a few days notice. We did note that we had underestimated the time necessary to obtain the police certificate and that the original appointment date would put me into conlict between my commitment to support my fiancée and some civic duties back home. I lastly told them we had made plane reservations prior to filing the 129f (showing how naive we were when we started out) so please keep us in mind.

The appointment was moved forward and Jamnan got her greencard in the mail a day shy of a year since the day we first met.

CanadaMy Canadian Car registered in US
I think you guys are refering to the Registration fees, if it's your car and you take it along to DMV, you can declare it's value at crossing but i don't think you need to pay additional tax, Reistration fees for cars is based on the value (worth) of the vehicle.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGreen Card/Abandoning Status Issues
I would make an infopass appt and discuss the matter with an uscis official there.

If it's possible you and your wife can fly back to the states every 6 months, as such you can still meet the residency requirement, not breaking any laws, the only problem when your wife is ready to fill for citizenship she has to state the time she spent overseas as such her requirement time maybe longer.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionjust wondering
To add

The 90 days is based on your Green Card Approval date, not on the date you got married.

So let's say your interview was on june 15,05, and you received your green card a month later july 05.

So(90 days from June 15, 05 so that put it) from March 15, 07 you will be within the 90 days and you can send out your application for removal.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhat if husband and wife are living in different addresses when filing for lifting condition?
As long as she's going through college there, you can still file under CALIFORNIA, assuming you are still going to be here in california and keep residence here, if both of you plan to move to NY then NY might be your filing locations. As a college students you can live on the dorm at the university but your home can still be your permanent address. Good luck!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionObtaining I-551 Stamp (or other evidence...)
I would go to a different DMV office(Santa Clara Flora vista office). And when you go there ask to speak to a supervisor if you run into any problems.

My wife got her California driver's licence for longer than 2 years. It wasn't based on the expiration of the 2 year green card.

One thing we did was getting a non driver ID as soon as she got here, then later on we used the non driver ID for identification we didn't even show passport or any other ID, not sure if that made a difference

Good luck

Be patient, The time varies we were EVEN TOLD don't contact us until 90 days after the interview. ONLY after 90 days we can make an inquiry about the card, needless to say one week before the 90 days came up, we got the card. Good luck

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTraveling on I-551 stamp
Since your husband is in the military, you fit under a special category, you should not have any problem, and the six months requirement for the green card won't apply to you, you can do a search here there are a few military couple here who could guide you more and read from past experience.

I received the NOA 751 to remove condition, and on that form they even mentioned something about Military families.

Hi! Im traveling late November for Italy because my husband's in the Navy so I should come with him because I'm his dependent. He has his orders already and we should stay there for 3 years. We just got married last May and still in the process of filing AOS. Hopefully I could get my GC after 3 mos without any delays and RFE's.

My questions are,

1.) can I come with him and stay in Italy with my temp green card only?

2.) should I do some paper works also? What else should I do and how do I do it?

3.) Would I be still entitled for Removal of Conditions after 2 years of my GC's expiration date with me living outside US on that period?

I would be entering Italy with a "No-Fee Passport" which will be provided by the Military, so no problem with that, my concern would most likely focus on how can I go back to US after my husband's duty and get a renewed Green Card afterwards.

I hope you guys can help me with whatever knowldge you have, even in the littlest way I would very much appreciate it. Thanks! :help:

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionDuring two years -- travel Possible, right ?
Your wife should not have any problem, specially if she's going back to India. We only ran up into some problem when we we doing our travel arrangement to Europe, Our travel date would extend past the day the green card expire, and Traveling to Europe, she need a shaizahn visa for France.

The french consulate would not issue the visa past the green card expiration date, So we had to wait for the I-751NOA to come through, then we were able to get the visa, and traveled with it without any problem.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhat if my Green Card doesn't arrive in time?
Like others have said, Don't panic, you will receive your NOA saying they have received your application, ON the same NOA paper it will inform you that your green card has been extended for 1 year from the expiration date, I used that form at the French embassy to get my wife a tourist visa, since our traveling date was going to take us past the green card expiration date.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGoing on Cruise to Mexico while waiting for AOS?
What's up Lomesh, Long time no see back from the old mumbai days post. I can see from your link your wife has received the NOA for the removal of conditions, That paper is very valuable IT EXTENDS THE GREEN CARD for one 1 year. SO when travel take it with you, as long as your wife passport itself is still valid, you can travel with the expired green card ALONG with the NOA Extension Letter.
