That would help your situation and reduce your chance of being rejected, as it would be very difficult to prove that you 2 got married. Can you go the K1 visa route since you have been meeting each other every year, therefore passed the requiment of having met within the last 2 years. I think you are going to have a really rough time about this one if not to say IMPOSSIBLE, already they give hard time for folks doing things the normal route, with getting married over the phone or over the internet I don't think that's an acceptable medium when USCIS is concern, the other question Have you met your fiancee within the past 2 years, how can you get married over the phone? what kind of proof you will bring for the interview, that would be waisting your money and become laughable. A friend of mine has been here for more than 4 years, now has green card. he's looking to bring in his adopted son to the US, does his wife has to file for the child, THe child name was already on the CRI paper. just decided to bring the child to the states at a later date, better education back to this country. Does he have to file, or Since the child name is already on the papers His wife can bring the kid using those same documents, do they need to start from scratch? You can sign up for a year premium but there's no string attached it's only valid if you make the payment that way you can select the cheapest options, that should give you enough time to get married and add her to your insurance policy, here in california her insurance takes effect on the day of marriage and you have 31 days from the civil ceremony to change your status and add her to your health plan. I would speak to an Immigration Lawyer like everybody has suggested, But I doubt it that you would need to go through the K1 since you already had a green card, as a canadian a few visits back and forth to the us could have avoid this problem but it's all in the past now. Like the previous Poster have mentioned You have to be really careful with uscis, you don't want to put your life and your spouse in Jeapordy by lying to them. Best Option Get your us citizenship 1st As a requirement of the I-129F fiancee K1 visa application you need to provide your citizenship number so right away without it you'll have problems. In Asia, it's difficult for the parents to let their daughter leaving home without being married, but once you get closed to family and let them know the situation, they will understand. It's very common to Have a BIG ENGAGEMENT, that way her family, friends, everybody can come to send her off, but like i said ENGAGEMENT, one of the VJ member here had sign a paper there while being engaged but it turns out it was a marriage certificate, he only f ound out about it, when the marriage went sour and going through a divorce process. So the catch is Be careful what you are signing, No papers for engagement. Always keep your original whenever you are dealing with USCIS as you may, should I say most likely will not get it back, if you have to show any original document you can bring it with you at the interview along with a Copy then give them the copy. With that said on a human level, i saw from your timeline you'll be graduating this coming december so Congratulations to you for all the hard work, you are almost there. At 22 you are still young gentleman and with a college degree you have a full bright future ahead of you, This may sounds harsh but the 1st step is to break the embilical cord from your parents, If they can't understand the way you feel about your fiance, and they are not being supportive A part time Job, something to get you going until December, once you graduate you can get a Full time Job and become more Independent as such, you'll be able to Support yourself and your fiance when she gets here, you won't have to ask your parents for affidat of support.
