CanadaWhat do you schedule first, Medical or Interview.
Hi! The medical should be done first, definitely. Even if you pass the interview, the embassy won't give you a visa without a medical clearance. The results of the medicals should be in by the time you have your interview.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHow important are the pictures for proof
Hi! At which consulate are you going to be interviewed? It may vary according to consulate. I'll be interviewed at the Manila consulate, and based on interview accounts by other Visa Journey members, I can tell that pictures are necessary for Manila. But if you're not from a high-fraud country (a Western, first-world one), you're probably more likely to get away with not having pictures.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMust she carry her green card daily?
I know this is an old thread and all, but I have just received my green card and been wondering whether to take it with me everywhere or leave it inside our apartment and keep a copy in my wallet. Based on what I've read in this thread, I think I'm going to keep my green card in a safe place, even though I'm legally required to have it with me at all times. The $450 replacement cost made the decision very easy to make! Plus, this is San Francisco. It doesn't seem to be a place where immigrants are pulled over on the street and asked for proof of legal status.

Joker69 doesn't know that there are many people out there that worked long and hard to have the honor of becoming a united states citizen. That many of us stayed out of problems and choose to obey by the laws and try to be a good law obiding citizen. By the fact that he still has his gang name joker and a picture of a gang banger as an avatar, proves to me he has no respect what so ever. It's sad to think that many good people on here been denied their n400 for silly things like sending the application a day earlier, and people like joker apply and will probably have no problems.

It takes a good deal of character to judge a person by his future instead of his past.

That makes no sense what so ever...

I agree with Dakine. I would say withdraw your application and remain as LPR. If and when you decide you do not want to remain as LPR and ready to give up then you can apply for N400 and loose your LPR officially and get deported.

That's pretty harsh. How are you certain he will get deported??

I've personally never seen it and I bet it's pretty close to never, but it's not a chance I personally would want to take. I wouldn't want it hanging over my head for life that there is just cause to revoke my citizenship and ban me forever, no matter how remote the possibility. If you pissed off the right person who knew about it, and they reported you to someone who thought it worth investigating, you'd be screwed. Or, if there was some other reason for them to review your immigration records (maybe for security clearance?), it wouldn't be hard to figure out.

Makes sense.

While it would be nice if this was true, there's a very good chance it will not be okay. The OP does need to be honest, but this is a very serious matter. It may do no good to worry about it at this point assuming a lawyer is now on board, but to tell the OP that everything will be okay is probably not the way to go. A lie about it (including a lie by omission) would be very, very bad - even if they don't catch it now, that's the kind of thing that gets citizenship revoked when they do discover it (remember, they already have it in their files since the OP discussed it at their AOS interview). However, being honest won't make it a non-issue - it will need to be addressed.

In reality, how often does USCIS catch that stuff after someone is given USC? In just curious.

Just out of curiosity, if he would have never mentioned that he did at one point claim to be a USC at his previous job, or where ever else, would USCIS have ever found out? Do employers forward the I-90s to them? Unless someone admits to it, how does USCIS know if anyone that files for USC has ever claimed anywhere to have been a USC?

US Citizenship General DiscussionQuick question
Hello I will be applying in May for USC. Ive been getting everything ready and I just had one quick question. Do I need to have my passport current when I apply or go for my interview or will my green card and state ID be ok? My passport is expiring in June and I don't want to spend the money or the time going to the embassy if I don't have to. I plan on getting a US passport as soon as I become a USC, god willing. Thanks

Hello guys.. I sent in my N400 may 2nd and USCIS has cashed my check and sent NOA but I still have not gotten my BIO letter. It's been almost a month, is this normal?? What's the normal wait time for this? I'm just a little nervous.

They told me to wait 30 days!! How does that make any sense. If they mail it, it should not take 30 days for the mail to deliver it. I'm trying to do the right thing and inform them so they could send me another BIO before I miss it, and they tell me to wait 30 days. WTH!!

Ok thanks guys. I filed May 2nd and it just seems like its been a long time. When I applied for GC it took like 2 weeks total for the bio letter to arrive. And then when I read that it was sent May 30th I felt like it should have been delivered by now. Thanks for the replies.

Hello guys, I checked my online status and it says that they sent the BIO appointment letter May 30th. I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet and its been like 7 days now. The letter should have gotten here by now. My biggest fear is missing my appointment. I called USCIS and was told to wait 30 days. I'm worried it got lost in the mail and that I will miss my original appointment. Any thoughts guys? Thanks

US Citizenship General DiscussionWhat happens if I miss my BIO appointment?
Hello guys. So I called again (4th time), this time I took the advise above and asked to speak to a level 2 officer. The officer was super nice. He told me I have my appointment in 5 days! He asked if I had a fax machine and he was able to get a copy of it faxed over to me! Thank god. Thanks for your help guys. This forum saved my butt.

US Citizenship General DiscussionWhat happens if I miss my BIO appointment?
Hello guys. Ok here is my situation. I applied for USC May 4th. On May 30th I got an e-mail saying that USCIS sent me my BIO appointment letter. It has been two weeks and I have not gotten that letter. I truly believe it got lost in the mail. I called the customer service number and both times they said that I have to wait 30 days. I asked her to confirm if the letter was indeed mailed out on the 30th and she said it that it was. I asked if it was possible to get another letter or if it was possible for them to fax me a copy of it so that I did not miss my appointment and she kept saying I have to wait 30 days. I then asked her, what happens if I miss my appointment that's on that missing letter that you guys sent, and she refused to answer. She just kept saying to wait 30 days. Worst service ever! My question is, what happens if I miss my appointment, which I am sure that I will now. What will USCIS tell me when I call them June 30th and say that I missed my appointment because I never got the letter? Any help would be great guys. Im starting to freak out.

US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 Scheduled Interview Cancelled
A few years back when applying for my GC I remember getting an interview notice with a date and time, then a few days later I get a letter saying they had to cancel that appointment. I waited a week and I got another letter with an interview date and time.. I went to that one and everything went fine.. I do remember being nervous that my original interview was canceled though.. The point I'm getting it, is that it happens. Don't worry
