I think they will abolish it.

It's a stupid process and it should be done by the US Embassy before a interview is scheduled.

We had to go thru DV. I see it as a waste of time.

right!! It's just a redundant process completely waste of time and money to the applicant.

PhilippinesInterview and Getting the Visa
QUOTE (wizzard1663 @ Oct 17 2008, 11:35 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I heard from another petitioner I met while vacationing with my Fiance that he attended the Interview. He told me he thought it might help in the approval process, and he also said they waited overnight to pick up the Visa the next day.

Can any of you verify whether or not the American Petitioner is permitted to sit in on his Fiance's interview in the Manila Consulate? Were any of you able to stay overnight near the Embassy and pick up the approved Visa the next day, or must you wait for it to be delivered by mail.

Yes, you can go with your fiancée during her interview but it not a gurantee to fast track her visa.

What can a local filipino rent an apt for in Cebu.. I am temporarily helping someone there.

I want to compare the numbers they are giving me.

To just get a cheap one or two bedroom apt or house in Cebu is about how much?

do they normally require a deposit or first and last months rent?

thanks for answering...

Well it depends which area? I myself rented room with bath for $100 then not included the electricity I used water is free, prices varies in location, accessibility, safety and cleanliness. As what the above reply ussually they well ask at least 3 months payment.

I read the former topic and I cant help but share my opinion..Every one is special and have their own unique characteristics, Filipinos or Brazilian or Thailander. However, we need to respect people for their own uniqueness, intelligence, loyalty to their country. If Filipinas thinks they are special, I am pretty sure Brazilian or Canadian or Thai's thinks they are special too.

And I also agree that Filipinos are smart and their unusual loyalty to their culture, country and individuality impresses me.

others are too ... yet don't promote it at the expense of others

Yes, and we can always learn from each other to make this world a better place for us to live...i hope most people would realize that..that's what the world needs ever since.. thats what we need...sounds cliche and out from a beauty pageant but true...

the big question is .... will people ever learn?

hi!!!Any filipina here na nsa states na w/ husband..If you guyz na may step daughters, please give me some advice on how to handle it specially to the 11 and 13 years old kids...Your advice is truly appreciated... smile.gif

I'm a step mom of a beautiful 7 years old. My advise don't get involve in term of disciplining with kids leave it to bio parents if you have concern about how the kids treating you talk to your husband cause sometimes kids can be mean and very manipulative. I belong to other forum also about step parents it helps me dealing with my step daugter you can PM so that we can exchange note.

Mine will be an advice from a father point of view and I tend to agree with the advice given above.
If you need talk to him about the kids, do mostly when the kids are not around.
Please, under any circumstance, (worst case scenario) do NOT make the other side have to make a choice between the biological kids and the new wife/husband, most of the time the newcomer will be on losing side. Most parents will side with the biological kids, if they are forced to make a choice.
Try to love the stepkids are they were your own and you will get the love back from them and your husband will notice ...
Love is infectious.. and most of all, be yourself without worry so much...his/her family will love you just as much, once they know you...and become part of the family.

true, I never really get involve with disciplining with my step daughter as a respect for the both bio parents. If I see different I let my husband handle it and I always make sure that my husband understand my side. I am still on the stage were my step daughter see me as her rival to her dad. I always tell her that I'm not here to replace her mom or trying to be her mom but please allow me to love you and protect you. Well, things doesn't happen overtime I'm patiently waiting for that but for a meanwhile I will love her with all my heart as she is always daddy's little girl and create a bonding with her.

Philippinesplane ticket from CEB to LAS
QUOTE (MJ3lasvegas @ Oct 17 2008, 03:49 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hey guys..i'm left with the burden to purchase my ticket to the US..well of course using HIS money..lol tongue.gif
we don't intend to use any credit card in doing so..he prefers to pay it in cash instead, for reasons i really am not sure of..but right now i care less about it. well i looked through online: NWA, HA, PAL and some other sites. i have compared prices and i found great deals from a few airlines. i just don't know how to go about buying the ticket and paying it in cash since i'm used to paying through card.

can anyone guide me through this? i'm from cebu and there isn't much of a choice in airlines out here..i'm really interested on the CEB-LAS flight deal from hawaiian airlines. it's really cheap compared to PAL which is almost 1000 USD one way!!! wacko.gif can anyone help me? ..or maybe at least give me hawaiian airlines number in manila? sad.gif
i remember, there was once a thread on this and there was one member who i guess owns or works in a travel agency that offers great deals..i tried to look for the thread but to no avail, i failed..

so can somebody please guide me through? sad.gif
i'm thinking of buying the ticket this october 24th and i'm looking at a flight set this november, maybe 2nd or 3rd week.

Why don't you call travel agencies compare price some travel agencies offers good deal too. I did purchased my ticket at Travelex(metrobank building fuente osmena) you can pay in credit card or cash then you can ask for discount if you qualified for a first time immigrant.

QUOTE (blukiss24 @ Nov 5 2008, 12:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It has been a tough life even before I came here. I got emails from the x wife saying I couldn't enter the United States because she will do everything. I kept myself silence and distance even to the point of degrading me. I had proved to her that she was not and will never be a hindrance of my happiness. I was granted a visa. I got married last July 25. I am now in the US with my loving husband. I am happy despite of no enough financial stability at this point. Because he has been laid off. I am working on to be a certified teacher here. My husband is working on to seek for employment. Hopefully in the long run we will be free with financial burdens. Other than that, I am VERY HAPPY and contented.

Just today, we went to the court for a name change of his 3 beautiful daughters. She want them change to her married name now. Of course we were there to contest it. To prove that my husband is a good father and don't want their names to be changed until they reach to a certain age to decide for themselves. It was dismissed.

Before that..they came in the court room. Her and her husband together with the 2 kids only. We were at the back since we arrived early and decided to seat at the back. God I saw the kids. I have been here for like 4 and a half months and finally I had the chance to saw 2 of my husband's beautiful kids. Yes,since I arrived here I haven't met them, haven't seen them and haven't got a chance to talk, play and be with them. They look happy sitting beside their stepfather. They just waived to us and smiled. They probably was thinking too that there she is. That was the first time they saw me as well. More importantly I saw my husband, hurting inside I felt. He just kept watching on them. Probably felt jealous that his kids are hugging their stepfather with him at the back. I was in tears seeing my husband. It hurts.

I guess I had been talking a lot. Enough. Why I posted this here because my husband's X wife has been reading this thread. Anywhere here. I was amazed why she found out that I was tested TB skin test positive. I should say she had been my stalker all throughout. If you will read this.. I just wanna make it clear to you. I am not contagious. I was tested TB skin test positive BUT NOT CONTAGIOUS. I have clear chest X-ray and the doctor clearly explained to me that nothing to
worry about. I can hug the kids without to worry about it. What my husband wants to is to be able to see the kids NORMALLY. I am very willing to even become friends for the sake of the kids. Lets just have peace and live life to the fullest. Be happy with both our marriage life and work on with it. We don't have a chance of reaching to them via calling, texting or email because she'll say it's harassment. I know you will read this in time. Please don't deprive him on being a father. Me and my husband has beautiful plans for the kids in the future. Helping them to go college and live a normal life knowing that they are loved in both sides. So again, I am not an enemy. Please let me see the kids and give me a chance to even be their friend. Thank you!

I feel better. Thank you for reading this. Visa journey has always been my friend with this homesickness.
God Bless us!

This is an open forum everyone can read around the world so be careful in posting personal messages. I guess she is not a damn person, it easy to search online so anything you post that could be use against you especially you're using real name, maybe the ex wife just concern about the health of her children being near to you. I'm not telling you this because I am on the side of the ex thats reality you have to face it. My husband would fight to the court for the 50% custody for his child if he thinks he is deprive. He has 2 days on weekdays and alternate weekends which start friday (same with the mother), this is really fair for bio parents. He make sure to call if the child is with her mother never missed a single day and during the time when the child is with us my husband make sure to spend quality time with her. I was touched when my step daughter wrote to me that "I am the best step mom and said thank you". I was once received a letter from the ex of my husband but the letter was totally fabricated and she is using fake email and name, who else gonna say nasty words about my husband?... Well be ready to deal with her and I don't think she is a bad person, so are you and your husband just hear out everyone side. Goodluck hope you find peace in your heart.

Hi everyone. I just read another post, with the lady who never OFFICIALLY adopted her niece as her own daughter. She knew the doctor would know that she has never given birth. THAT got me to thinking....

My fiance' has had an abortion, and I know that's not acceptable there in the Phil. If she tells the truth, will that stay with her and the doctor in the exam room? Or, is that going to raise all sorts of issues that I need to get in front of NOW????

Thank you for understanding my anonimity in this question. I appreciate it.

As long as your fiancée is honest about. I don't think doctors would handcuff her or call a police for having an abortion in the past. The fact that you know it also it's nothing to worry. I remembered during my medical it's one of the doctors question just answer YES.

3. Take the E-mail and documents to SLMEC to do medical.

Or do we need to contact SLMEC to set up an appointment with them after I set up the interview with USE?

It happened to me in my case my corrected BC I lived in Cebu City but I managed to go to that crippy building with lots of fixer hanging outside. Demand to release your MC as that is their job.

The last time I saw Manny when he had training in Cebu City. I met the rest of the Pacman team including the coach since we stayed in the same hotel. They are very nice persons. Thumbs up for Manny and the team.

To all Filipino here also do not be so sensitive, it's normal to react but try to control as this is the place where different culture gather and are trying to understand us also. Happy holidays to all....
