I would recommend that you add state taxes for 2010 2011 and that you also should include more bank statements. Perhaps one statement per quarter for each of your joint accounts. Good Luck :)

Our DL's (hubby didn't have his car yet at the time)

A rental agreement with my parents

The pictures you are discussing sound like real life, they are not staged. I believe that USCIS wants to see your real mariage, well there it is. I would definitely include the picture of your wife with your family and the ones where you are together with your dad and also mountain biking. You can include a description of each picture explaining date, location, circumstance, etc.

I received an RFE for my husband's ROC at the beginning of August, sent back the ROC at the end of August and we just got approved on 9/14. Received the card today. This is all at CSC though. I know how frustrating this all is, patience is key. I wish you good luck!

Hi, We received RFE for our I-751 application requesting more evidence for our marriage.
So far I have a copy of our rental agreement, title of our car that we acquire few months ago, auto insurance for this year, and photos for our recent trip together with my husband's family in the Philippines. no credit card payment due to the fact that we both have our own separate card. Do you guys think this is enough to show proof for our RFE? I can't show proof for any utility bills and payments in the house we are renting because we are sharing the rent with my parents and sister. The utilities are name under my parents.


I would write a letter explaining your living situation as well as your credit cards, so that they understand why you cannot produce the utilities as well as a copy of a utility bill in your parents' names. Good Luck!

I absolutely agree with AlexGreen. I'v been following this forum for a while now. I'm also a January ROC filer and its been really helpful. This forum had been used for its intended purpose till you guys got approved. I've been following most of the threads for the Jan. 2012 ROC Filers and its all about giving each other much needed support, fingers crossed and after-hours prayers being made. Lets not forget those still expecting approvals.
Calpyso, Fatima, Menina and co....You guys have my total respect as I've read your comments which are very positive and encouraging and gotten tons of support from it. Please let's not deviate from what the forum is intended for. Like Alex said earlier, those messages can done privately. I pray for Fatima and the rest still awaiting approval. Considering I am not even a January Filer and I am editing your approvals for January, I am in no way forgetting them :)In fact, my ROC is in March. It is refreshing to discuss things while waiting for updates on approvals. It depends on which part of San Diego, I was born and partially raised here myself. I love that I can go to the mountains, desert, or beaches whenever I want :)


Calypso, I was born in Santa Monica, but I have lived most of my life in San Diego. Both places are ridiculously expensive. We are trying to buy a house here and prices are way too high. I wouldn't mind living in Santa Barbara, but apprantley the cost of living is high there as well. That's California, I suppose. As you said, we pay the price for the weather and the beaches. :)

On another note, I am hoping all the other January filers will receive their approvals soon. It seems CSC is already going through the February cases.

Hi,

I am in the middle of ROC on my husband. We did our biometrics yesterday. He will be eligible to apply for naturalization 3/2/2013. If we were to apply prior to 4/2/2013, would I have to pay for another biometrics or would it still be valid from the ROC?

Second question, we were married in Tunisia, and so, our marriage certificate is in Arabic/French. We had our marriage certificate translated into English in Tunisia by a certified translator, will this be acceptable?

Hi Friends,

It's that fun time for me and my husband to remove conditions on his green card! I am gathering our evidence and will hopefully file March 3. However, I went to my bank this morning to ask for a letter stating how long we have had our joint account, etc. and they told me that they had never written one before. Does anyone have a template of what this should look like?

So, I believe we are almost ready to mail all our proof, we have:

-Joint Fed Taxes for 2009-2011
-Joint CA Taxes for 2010-2011
-Hubby listed as my beneficiary for my 403b accounts
-Listed as each other's beneficiaries on our IRA accounts
-2 affidavits

and...
a letter from our bank.

While I have everything else finished, I cannot seem to get my bank to write me the letter. I cannot use account statements because for some reason my husband's name doesn't appear on them. Do you think it would be the end of the world to forego the bank letter? Any suggestions for getting this done with Union Bank?

Your best bet for Tunisia is USPS. Although FEDEX and UPS will claim to get it there faster, they don't. The problem arises once it gets to the airport and how long it sits there, how long it takes go from processing to the town, and how long it takes for the post office to bother notifying the recipient that they have mail to come and pick up.

When I send mail from the East coast, USA to Jendouba, Tunisia it takes on average 12-14 days to arrive. I would use USPS and get a confirmation tracking number which will at least allow you to track it until the moment it arrives in the Tunis Carthage airport.

Don't waste your money with the huge fedex/ups up-charges. When it arrives in Tunis through them, it's turned over to regular Tunisie Postal Service just like USPS.

oh ya, the Tunisian Postal Service is insane, especially post revolution.

I sent mine in a flat-rate express mail envelope. The post office clerk said it couldn't get any faster than that (unless you went to FedEx) but priority would cost about twice as much. You can track it online and print a delivery confirmation for your records. With this option the package gets from IA to CSC in 1-2 days, which for me was good enough.

I do not need to understand nothing (sorry if sounds rude) First of all he IS NOT AMERICAN. He is a US citizen but he is vietnamese. Secondly, this is not the american way because it is not mandatory for their people here in US to adopt the husbands last name. I am no ones property and I am my parents daughter not his parents daughter.

And I do carry documents in different last names because my passport is in my real name and always will be because I am not planing to be come a citizen...ever


So normally when someone has citizenship, they are a citizen of that coutry, meaning your husband is in fact American. It s not mandatory to take his last name, and I never took my husband's. However, now you are in a situation where half of your documents reflect one one and half reflect the other. I would decide together what you would like to do. Whether or not you plan on being a citizen, the fact that you are removing conditions shows that you are living here, so you should do whatever is best for you for your situation here. Good Luck.

That could be another piece of evidence. Any financial information such as bank accounts, joint cards, beneficiaries, etc. will help you.

When you are a student and you want to get financial aid, you file for FAFSA so that you can get grants, loans, etc. fafsa.ed.gov

They ask you questions like married or single. I would print off the page that shows this.
