Thanks for that information it seems there really is no distinction between the blue and the white! I've seen them both and they are identical and just different in information they want! I also seen on the net that some consulates issue a green or is that from the past? I suppose what I'm getting at.. is one worse then the other? And when I resubmit my paperwork will they look at them as a judgmental thing! Thanks

My Dad lent me the money and was in cash! I paid in cash and got a receipt from the travel agent saying I payed in cash. Lord who would have thought this would cause a problem??

The red flag is that my Dad had lent me the $$ to obtain a ticket and it was in cash and for this we will have to suffer???

That is a strange red flag. Do you have a ticket for the amount of money your dad lent you?

Or did he lend you $20,000 and you bought a $2,000 ticket? (example values)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMy fiancee got a white slip!
Sorry I did not reply sooner! I retained a lawyer in Vietnam "Mark Ellis" my fiancee will see him Tuesday or I presume his associates. I never in my wildest dreams thought this would happen how can two people who love each other as much as we do have this happen?? I have read enough on these forums to know that there is fraudulent marriages and engagements...who in there right mind would go through all this unless they are in love? I made one mistake and it sent up a red flag and that is what they responded to. The rest of the information two years of e-mail chats, telephone bills, pictures, getting engaged buying rings Etc! Made no difference!!! My time line is six pages long and has every date and time we talked or met.
The red flag is that my Dad had lent me the $$ to obtain a ticket and it was in cash and for this we will have to suffer???
Today I got the three months of bank receipts, and now need to write a letter on how my father knows my fiancees Aunts Husband. They both are Vietnam vets and worked in Vietnam as civilians I had put that in the time line but did not elaborate on it. My fiancees Aunt lives in Washington and I in Calif. we have met three times. When I look at all this in retrospect I can see why the CO seen red flags but what can I do now to prove are love??
She got a white paper what is the difference from a blue and white???? Again I thank each and everyone here for all the help....... crying.gif

First, you do exactly what they ask you to do. I doubt they are worried about the relative size of your bank account. Your case fits a fraud scenario where you are being paid to help your fiance immigrate. They would be looking for unusual deposits, so a consistently low balace would actually work in your favor on the one side and no visibility into how the tickets were paid for works against you on the other side. I suggest you proceed with this in mind without addressing it with any direct denials. Let the facts contradict their assumption.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMy fiancee got a white slip!
My fiancee got a white slip yesterday! I have been on the phone with her for most of the night so please forgive my grammar. She was the first person to be called in for her interview and there was an American CO with a woman translator. She said everything went well and she had answered all questions given to her. The interview took fifteen min's never asked her for any chat telephone or e-mails! She asked him if he wanted to see them but he waved her off.
He did look at the photos but just glanced at them.
O.K. this is what they want..... the white slip is just a form letter asking for a new time line! The one I sent was six pages long and described everything "written and typed". I know now what sent up a red flag was my bank savings at the time of starting this process. I had been laid off my job and only had $1500 in the bank! But I own a condo worth 350.000 which I rent out. My father loaned me money to pay for the airline tickets and I paid in cash! They want three Months of bank statements from that time period. I am afraid it won't show much as I was getting my life back together. I work and have a good pay scale and have been recently been accepted for a border patrol job!
Also my father is good friends with my Fiancees Aunt's Uncle! They worked in Vietnam together for many years. They wanted to know the company they both worked for in Vietnam and, how long my father has owned his house. They also asked all the regular questions that have been posted here.
They also want to have a detailed statement from her about the relationship with her Aunt.
I realize now the mistakes I had made but my God these are not interviews it is more like an inquisition. We are deeply in love and this has really made me feel as if I'm losing it!!!! Don't know if I should retain a lawyer "Mark Ellis" suppose I put the cart before the horse but really at a lose as what to do.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEngagement was broken off!!
I'm not going to make this a long story!! My fiancee and I broke off are engagement it was just to much to overcome and time changed are views! I'm now in the Border Patrol Boot camp and have very little time to do anything!

When the Consulate said it was a scam and sent everything back to the U.S. this was a unbelievable blow to us both! Anyway I had heard that if she ever wanted to come over here in the future with her parents Etc!! She will need some sort of letter sent to the USCIS or the Consulate in Vietnam stating I'm withdrawing my support and the engagement was broken off ! I don't want to screw up her changes for future endeavors!!!
What I need to know what is the procedure on doing this?? Is it a form letter or just a letter sent to the Consulate??? Thanks

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaMedical Exam in Bogota

As soon as you schedule your interview you can go to the doctor. There is not a time frame... I remember one of the doctors office recommend maximum 2 weeks prior to the appointment. If the beneficiary has kids, they may need the tuberculousis test which takes an extra 4 day to determine if the children also need chest X-rays.

Also I remember that when I called the only doctor that had time available before my interview was Doctor Dennis. So it would be a good idea to call as soon as you have paid your visa nterview to schedule the appointment for the doctor.

My fiancee already went for her labs, medicals, and vaccinations in Bogota even though we're still waiting to get an interview. She was told the medicals are good for 6 months, so as long as we get our interview (and we are granted a visa), we should be ok. Most people schedule the medical tests after getting an interview, but I wanted to get them out of the way ahead of time...

I recall their being 4 doctors. Yes the labs must be done first but can be scheduled the same day as the medical.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaQustion about Notifcation from Embassy in Bogota

You can also register your case with the USCIS by entering your receipt number, once you provide them with an email address, they will email you with the approval before mailing the NOA2. It's faster that way.

Diana

Thanks. Just did it via USCIS website...

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaQustion about Notifcation from Embassy in Bogota

Hi Mambocowboy, you will get notice of your NOA2 or RFE in the mail just like you did for your NOA1, and if you provided USCIS an eMail address in your I-129F, they will send you an eMail that it has been either approved or, if you are getting an RFE. Your fiance' is supposed to get contacted once your visa is entered in the system at the embassy in Bogota, but, from what I read from the folks who have gone through this process, the embassy is not reliable when it comes to making contact with your fiance' so you will have to follow up with them on your own.

If your petition is being processed by the CSC, from the other posts I have read, it appears as if it's taking between 5 to 6 months between NOA1 and NOA2, but the CSC seems to be picking up speed as of late, so you should hear something hopefully very soon!!

Jon & Clau

Thank you for clearing that up. Looking at the timelines for California Service Center on this website it seems like 5 months is the average time right now, so I'm hoping to get some news soon...

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaQustion about Notifcation from Embassy in Bogota

Hi Andrea and Arturo, I called NVC today (2/1/12) and they said they just created my case and assigned a BGT number this morning. The rep said it would take a few days before it leaves the NVC for the embassy, so I'm thinking maybe some time next week I will check to see if the package has arrived at the embassy. I think you are a couple steps ahead of me so keep me posted on your progress and I will do the same for you. What are you doing for vaccinations? Not sure if it's easier to just get it done the week we are in Bogota or see if she can have it done in her home city(Barranquilla).

Thanks again for your help!!

Jon & Clau

So those of you getting your NOA2, how are you finding that out? They're sending something to you or your fiancee? My 5 months since NOA received is 2/14/12, and I've been assuming I should wait to hear...Can someone clarify? Thanks in advance...

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaColombia Embassy Receives petition - what are the next steps?

I had a question on the medical appointment. Which doctor did you have and how long was the wait and the appointment?

Art

The doctor was Jairo Rojas. The labs were at 7am, physical at 5pm, both the same day. I think with the physical and vaccinations for the later appointment she didn't get out of there until 730pm...

Hi RJQuilla, congratulations on her getting her visa!!! Must be relief that this is almost over. Just a couple questions, what did you do for vaccinations, and what did they want for the I-134?

Thanks and best wishes to you both!!

Jon & Clau

My fiancee, who has had her medicals but not yet the interview, had her vaccinations done by the same doctor who did the physical (all one appointment).

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaPaying Visa Fee - Colombia

Hi Mambocowboy, here is the embassy web site: http://bogota.usemba...rant_visas.html

Look to the right where it says "Schedule Interviews"

Before you do this, you probably should call the NVC to see if you have been issued a BGT (case number) as you will need this number to open an account with the embassy and set up an interview. The NVC phone number is 603-334-0700, then press option #1, and I think option #5 to speak with an operator as the automated system will not work for K-1 visas. The NVC usually does not sit on petitions more than a few days so I would think by now, your visa should be at the embassy by this point, but call NVC and they will tell you if it was already sent to the embassy.

Jon & Clau

Thanks!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaPaying Visa Fee - Colombia

Stefan y Karen, I just booked my interview in Bogota and was able to get March 22nd at 7:30am. I remember on the calendar I saw openings for the following week. I don't know why you could only get April dates. Could you cancel your current inerview and try to schedule it again? If you are doing a K-1, I don't know why you could not get the end of March.

Let me know what you decide to do.

Jon & Clau

Can you share the link to the website where you can schedule your interview? I received my NAO2 2/3/12 but haven't heard anything since....Thanks
