Cali, I have been there and done that, even got the T-shirt. lol

It's a p!sser having to wait for the government. I should know, it took us about a year and a half from submitting the I-129f to getting the Visa, ending up contacting Lawyers and Senators and blowing so darn much money on USCIS's muck up.

I hope you hear from them soon, and they decide to pull their grubby little fingers out of their <achooo> oops I sneezed lol.

All in all, I would of done the wait again to be here with my husband.

Keeping fingers crossed you hear back soon, I know its frustrating, but once you get your visa, you will feel like a big weight has been lifted off your shoulders and your life can start up again.

All the best.

Jo

Thanks Jo. It may suck but I know I'm meant to be with Jon and I will go through anything to be with him in the end. I'm sure things will turn out ok I'm just not sure when.

Sarah

I am still hanging in here with ya, I have been so frustrated lately too. I know what you are going through, you and I have been going through this entire process together seems like. It seems as if our cases are going through the exact same thing, HUH. Hopefully you will have better luck with your senator than I did. Good luck to you , I am glad you finally got in contact with them at least. Hopefully they can give you some answers. We really need some at this point. I guess I am just going to wait another month and see if anythign happens at the magic 6 month mark. Good Luck to you you are in my thoughts.

~Stacey

It does seem like our timelines are going through the exact same thing. It sucks but I'm glad I know someone who is going through the same thing. As much as it sucks its good to know I'm not alone. I hope we hear something soon.

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. Jon called one of his senators today and they recieved his request for help, information. They said they would work on our case this week and get back to us when they find anything out. I'm just glad someone is looking into things even if we don't get a specific answer out of it. It sucks that soooo many people's lives are in the hands of the government (and not just us visa journey'ers either).

Sorry to hear about how long it is taking. It sure is a ridiculous amount of time to wait. I am also waiting in Canada. If you don't mind me asking, why did they put a border block on you? I think I have the same thing on me too.

I didn't have sufficient ties to Canada so they border blocked me for that. I also was visiting too much I think. You think you have the same thing? Tell me about your experience in PM if you want.

Thanks guys, I have cried my eyes out alot today. I called Jon while I was upset too and he says he is going to get on them on Monday and find out what is going on this week if he can. It makes it worse when I have no close friends here to do things with or that I live in the sticks and can't get into town to do things on my own (no buses and i dont drive) so I have all this time to think and its driving me mad. I am definatly getting some sort of job when I get out to California because I can't stand not having anything to do anymore. It's no use me getting a job now because who knows when things are going to pick up with uscis and then i will be asked to truck here and there for medicals and interviews. *sigh* I guess I'll have to make do with what I have and try to stop stressing out as best I can.

How heart breaking is that? Jon didn't hear anything from his senators this past week either. I asked him to call on Monday or Tuesday and find out if they even got his request for help. I know he should have faxed but he doesn't follow any directions but those given on the forms. Which don't say to fax. I'm going out of my mind about all of this arghhhh. I was hoping it would be over in 6 months and ha its not even half way yet!!! I really don't want to have to go through another Canadian winter ya'll!!! I hate not knowing what is going on. Pooh. Yep another Sarah vent. *sigh*

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTouched again

I guess it's true then, it depends on the individual guards. Neither of us were asked about sufficient proof of returning at any time. There were a few times they didn't even take the driver's license we were holding out to them...just asked how long the visit and when the return and when was the last time we visited.

Believe it or not, one guard (when I told him I was coming back to the States) asked my 'why I would even tolerate having a LDR because most of the time they don't work out.' Can you believe that??

Oh, btw...my fiance and I met on a music related website too. We've gone to a few concerts...have more planned in our lifetime LOL

Very cool how you met. Yes it depends totally on the individual guard you are dealin with. I was let through my one lady after I had my first turn back (that visit was for 2 weeks) then when I went to go for the holidays, i was turned back again. Sigh.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTouched again

Hi, calidreamer...I noticed in your timeline that you had a 12 month border block put on you...whatever was the reason for that?? It wasn't as if you were coming to the USA every other week. My fiance is from Canada and the last time he came across, I think the guard was alluding to the fact that he might be blocked next time due to visiting too much. I swear, those of us in LDR must proove that we have a legitimate relationship but on the other hand if we visit 'too much' we are penalized. It sure is frustrating!!

I think the border block was a couple of things. One, visiting too much and Two, not having sufficient proof I wa coming back to Canada. Yes it is very frustrating!

Yep, I checked today and our case was touched again. Last time was June 21 and now today. I don't understand the importance of touches because it still seems like nothing is getting done. I'd rather not know when I'm being touched because it gets my hopes up that an approval is coming. It's been 5 and a half MONTHS now and still no approval. I hope we get it before the 6 month mark approaches. Jon is visiting on Saturday for a few days so I hope we have something to celebrate by then. It would really be awesome if the approval came this week. He has his senator on the case and I asked him to follow up with them today since its been a week and half since he first did. I hate waiting!

You do not require fingerprinting at this stage. That comes later at the AOS stage after you are married.

You will need to get a police check done for this stage of the process.

Ok, but I thought I had to have fingerprints on the form to send away to the canadian police in order to GET the background check? At least that's what I understood??

I checked out the flow chart but I'm still confused  too much info for my brain to process i think. Can someone simplify it for me? Thanks guys/gals.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresshould i be worried??

Now I am just talking from the heart and I don't know if people here will disagree.. When in your interview be completely honest.. Let them know the situation.. From what you stated you didn't mean to do anything intentionally... And that is the key right there.. These guys that interview you interview many people a day and hear many lies.. I can guarantee you that .. they hear many.. and they can key onto this.. Just be honest and say... "Hey before we understood the process here is what we were gonna do, then we found out it was not the right way so he went back to canada. and that is why we started researching and following procedures, etc, etc, etc... "

ok thank you. Hopefully that's enough....

Good advice. I've been denied twice at the border (and had fingerprints and been videotaped) so I need to know how to handle myself at the interview too. honesty is the best policy.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes this mean we are approved?

Can we get approved without receiving the RFE in the mail yet? We received the email stating the RFE was sent on 6/23, but haven't received it in the mail until now.

Just today we received this email:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On July 8, 2006, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued.

Does this mean we are approved? We don't want to be too excited until we are sure we are approved. Thanks for your replies in advance.

I hope it's approved...we are also waiting for our NOA2...We sent the I-129F on the same month too....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHang in there everyone we will all make it!!!!!

I just wanted to write this post to tell all of us who are going through this journey together to be strong, and patient. I know this is so hard for many of us but i am so hopeful, and sure that we will all make it through this long hard process. Sometimes it helps just to get a pat on the back. We and our future husbands, and wives, deserve a BIG Congrats for all that we have to endure through these hard times. I have a poem i would like to write for everyone to read i hope that it brings encouragement to everyone.

DON"T QUITE
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will. When the road you're trudging seems all uphill. When the funds are low, and the debts are high, And you want to smile , but you have to sigh. When care is pressing you down a bit. Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is strange with its twists and turns. As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns out: When you might have won had you stuck it out: Don't give up though the pace seems slow. You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out. The silver tint of the clouds of doubt. And you can never tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight with you're hardest hit. It's when things seem the worst that you must NOT QUIT.

AJ1 Good luck to all of us!!!

Nice poem u got there.....We have to claim everything to be POSITIVE for us to hang on.....
;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE Reply

My fiance only passed the questionnaire (page 3) to CSC as his reply for RFE. I have read in one of the USCIS articles that this may delay the processing. He passed the reply last June 30.....too late to say to him that he should pass everything including the first two pages... Does anybody experience the same thing???..... My last update in USCIS is this:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On July 20, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

My fiance doesn't receive anything yet via snail mail....what should we do?

There was no snail mail sent for the RFE Acknowledgments. The RFE specifically said to send both sheets back. There is nothing you can do now.... if they need more info from you, they will send another RFE. Don't bother trying to forward something now... it will get lost.

Jen

Thanks Jen. M starting to worry....it's more than 3 weeks now since we sent the RFE reply. I've seen some of the timelines for other VJ members.....they got approved in less than a month....Tnx again.

One unique aspect of our particular case is that my fiance is from the Philippines, but is living and working in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates now.

Wish us luck! And please feel free to offer any help or advice, those of you who have more experience than I do.

We have the same case. I am currently working in another country.....My fiance's in CA and m here in K.S.A. You can get all the infos here in this website from filing of your I-129F to whatever applications you will need.

My fiance did send the I-129F in CSC and he addressed everything in the Philippines since I am not permanently based here. I will go home if everything is approved and an interview date is set for me.

Good luck to your journey.....God bless...
