K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTattoos on medical
If a tatoo had political significance--like something that identified the person as a member of a terrorist group, a gang, or a Nazi, I think the US government would want to know about it.

Perhaps that is why the doctor is required to note any distinguishing marks--such as tatoos.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThank you "billsgirl"-Read Post "Need Peoples Opinion"
I get what is being said about calling attention to those still waiting cuz I'm one of them. Then again some attention is better than nothing at all, you know? I am just worried that everyone will be concentrating now on everyone after March 6th who has been affected by the IMBRA and forget about the ones who are still waiting (Stacey & I that I know of) and that makes me sick to my stomach.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs California Moving?!!!

Thanks, fiance emailed both senators for California. I am hoping it does us some good cuz 140 days to wait for a friggin noa2 is nuts. Especially when a handful after us are being looked at. Geez.

Email is not the way to do it. You will most likely receive a generic email message in a few weeks thanking you for supporting the senator's stance on immigration reform.

Instead, go to the senator's website. Go to the section for Constituent Services. Download the privacy release act form. Fill it out, give the details of your case with your case number, etc. Fax to the senator's office. Follow up with a phone call to make sure they received it. Call again the next day or two days later.

Good luck

Ok I let my fiance know what you told me. Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs California Moving?!!!

No none that I know of. Just says extra security checks. Fiance is still trying to contact a congressman.

It's VERY easy to get a congressman or senator involved. She can find a form regarding privacy on the Senator website, download it, sign it, fill in the story and send it. Then call to follow up. It shouldn't take them more than 1 week to get back to her and to dig into the case. I would PUSH HARD.

We're working on it. The congressman that is responsible for my fiance's area is in jail and was kicked out of office and they just swore in a new guy on Monday. No contact info for him yet so that right now is our roadblock. Figures it has to be the one person we need to talk to.

then SKIP the congressman and go straight to the Senator's office - you can find him/her here:

Well Michelle at least you are not in my boat. I'm still waiting on my noa2 from CSC from frickin January 26. Sucks but meh.

That is ridiculous. Have you contacted them? Congressman? Senator? Did you have an RFE or something else that explains the insane delay?

Lucky you! We filed our application on 15 March, received receipt on 20 March and had nothing since. Never touched :( How is it possible that you have overtaken me in the process?!!! Starting to get concerned our application has falled off the shelf :(
And why are all the other service centres forwarding their files to California - California has enough to work with i.e. my file ;)
Eager to get any information I can on this process. The unknown is killing me.

Man it seems all I do is wait and wait and wait. I emailed CSC again yesterday and they didn't even reply this time. Fiance is mailing a letter as well as a release of info form to his two california senators tomorrow to get them to look into it. This is all ridiculous. I am worried they will get so caught up in this IMBRA stuff that they will forget those of us who are still waiting from January and go and process those of the ppl from March 6th and foward. I'm really going to be pissed if that happens too because its' not fair. Then again in this game nothing seems fair. I swear I'm almost at my wits end. My fiance is coming to visit again next month when he was just going to wait til the interview. Well that looks like a long way off so he figures he better come now or he won't see me til mid fall or something. *sigh* I will never understand this whole process and why its not done with more consistency. I just needed to vent so thanks for listening. Seems I'm doing alot of venting these days on here

I know exactly what you are going through, my thoughts are with you girl......

Thanks hun. Now its getting to the point where they aren't even answering my emails. Jon mailed off the request forms for an inquiry to his senators today. I told him about faxing but on the forms it sails to mail them so he figured he better stick with that. I don't care one way or another now as long as that info gets there and it gets our case looked into. I'm desperate for some sort of movement. Desperate beyond belief.

Well geez! I don't know what he's talking about then but I will pass this on and ask him why he doesnt just fax instead of wasting a stamp. Thanks.

Faxing is faster AND safer. It's not like just anyone is going to be standing at the fax machine in the senator's office. And if it gets lost in the mail, that's not gonna make him feel any better.

Bottom line, if you want answers, he has to apply the pressure and the only way to do that is to go directly to the right source and do it FAST.

OK, I'm done ranting on the poor guy. Good luck.

 Ranting!

I appreciate your help and i've sent him the fax numbers. He'll be seeing this thread later too :)

I did tell him about faxing but he says there is no fax number to fax it. He says he feels safer mailing it anyway. Believe me I don't like the feeling of his dancing around it either because I want answers but I'm not the US petitioner so it all sounds better coming from him. I'll run what you said by him though because I often show him what ppl say on here :)

Tell him I am going to track him down and strangle him. It's not exactly difficult to find this information online:

Senator Dianne Feinstein

Will you PLEASE tell him not to mail the letters and the release forms but to FAX them? Why waste anymore time? You guys are desperate for help and answers (as you should be) so you need to push hard and fast. Send more emails. Fax the letters. Call the senator's office. Talk to the immigration liason. Put on the pressure!!! Let's hope you get some good news, FAST.

I think it really has to do with population. Obvioulsly Callifornia and the Western US has a huge population compared to the Northeast. So I can imagine its why Cal is so much more busy and takes longer to process. Its the only thing I can think of..

If anyone knows about your frustration it would be me. I'm still waiting 145 days since my noa1 and it bothers me to see others getting their noa2s from february or march or even april. its not fair and sometimes i want to tear my hair out too. i dont know why california has to take on all the k-1s but oh well. there really is nothign to do but do ur best to handle the jealousy and just keep telling yourself the noa2 will come. thank goodness im not affected by the imbra or i'd really be pissed then.

Cali - I'm pulling for ya! Hope the senators do something SOON to get this taken care of already!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBorder Troubles
You mean I'm not the only one? Man......when that happens to ya it sure does scare ya and make u extra nervous the next time around. I mean those border guys are doing their job and I realize this but some of them are way more intimidating and rude than they have to be. Next time I go to cross my fiance will be with me and I will have the k-1 in hand. I'm not chancing another run in even though my border block is lifted. I don't need anything else hindering this process more than it has been already.
calidreamer80FemaleCanada2006-05-17 20:29:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBorder Troubles
Well they just told me cuz I didn't work that there was no proof I was coming back to Canada. I know the one time I didn't have a return ticket so I can see why that would be a red flag and it makes sense. But I was let across a week after that with no problem. Was there for 2 weeks (California) then came back and tried to go for the holidays 2 weeks later. I had my return ticket and everything but that wasn't enough I guess. I was grilled really bad and it was just a harrowing experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. I still have nightmares about it happening again. I think I was descriminated against because I wasn't working and I was 24 and still living at home. At least that's what the agent said "you need to get independant and move out of daddys place" is what i think he said. not fair from what i see it because they shouldn't be able to tell you that you HAVE to work or what to do to live your life. oh well. its over now and im just thinking maybe that's why its been 4 months and i haven't had my noa2. Nope nothing was given to me when they gave me the ban, he just made me tell the airline not to allow me on their list for 12 months and entered me in the computer with fingerpints and all. dude was hella rude too.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBorder Troubles
I think I've posted about this before but I'm not sure. I was just wondering if border troubles cause significant delay in gettting a visa or what? I was turned back twice, the second time with a 12 month border block put on me. I guess I was visiting too often and with not enough proof to come back or whatever. I feel so bad about it but I really didn't know what I was getting into and it was a mistake and now I think I'm paying for it with this 4 month and counting wait. Sigh. I don't have a criminal record and never been in trouble with the law so I can't see why this would end up in a refusal of the visa. I'm just nervous because it's taking so long and I have no idea whats going on. I guess I could look at it this way......at least they are doing a thorough review and hopefully by spending a little extra time to figure out that I"M NOT a criminal right? If they do it now then it should be all cleared up for when it comes time to AOS. Positive thinking much? I'm trying to be more positive because being negative isn't making things go faster.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFinding humor in the immigration process

Well, it was a selection of factors. Craig was unemployed at the time, living with his parents, we were traveling by car, together, and truthfully we were just flat out uneducated about it. We had no idea that he'd need to have proof of ties back to Canada. The CBP officer was very nice about it, telling us that it happens all the time, and it's unfortunate but we had to learn the lesson. He wasn't fingerprinted or photographed and not charged with anything. The officer just ask that he reestablish ties in for a few months Canada before trying to cross again.

So needless to say, I've been flying to him a lot. :)

But yes, I recommend taking proof. Even if they don't ask for it, it'll be nice to have in case you come across a grumpy officer. :)

I HEAR YOU ON THAT ONE!!!! LOL I think this process is so emotionally draining, nevertheless, we have to go through it.....

Just curious, I was reading your timeline and noticed Craig got denied access to the US and you hadn't even applied for the K-1 yet??? Wow, you must have ran into a grumpy officer or what???? I'm travelling to the US next week and will be filing for the K-1 and wasn't planning on bringing proof of ties in Canada, perhaps I should rethink this????

I was denied for the same reasons as Craig. Only I was fingerprinted on one occasion and all that jazz. The second occasion I was treated really rougly although I was told that it happens alot. It pays to be educated. I had a 12 month border block put on me too. You are right, we do need to laugh about it sometimes.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCase transferred from Nebraska to California

Just had a thought: if CSC is supposed to only be handling K1s from now on, are they going to send them from TSC and VSC as well?

Dont know about VSC, but they have been sending petitions from TSC to CSC for awhile now. Now NSC is going to CSC as well. VSC is the last one so who knows.

I wouldn't be suprised if they do have one SC do all the processing. I just wonder why California is the one they picked with all the backlog already. It's a mysteeeeeeeeery!
