Have you tried calling the service center to be sure it was forwarded to NVC?

We were approved on 5/09, and our NVC letter was dated 5/22.

I am part of the 'first wave' of applicants who sent in their I-129F's recently with the new forms.
Put my package in the mail on June 20 and got the receipt back on the 29th---whicj was a pleasant surprise as I've seen so many posts here of folks not g\hearing from them for several weeks.

When do I get my case number?

When you get your NOA1, it will have the case number. You can enter the case number into the USCIS webpage and check for updates on your case.

If you look at the Immigration Timelines section, you can see other people's timelines--but no one knows for sure how long it takes for NOA2. Some people wait only 2 weeks while others have waited over 6 months.

Return your RFE as soon as possible, so at least they have all your paperwork.

It sounds like you forgot to sign one of the pages. Did you and your SO sign and submit all 4 pages of the G-325? Your letters of intent need signatures too. Hopefully it was just a small error and can be corrected easily.

Your case number should be on the back of the cashed check. Get a copy of it from your bank, then you can register in the USCIS system and check for updates about your case. It will also help you get information about your missing NOA1 if you have a case number to refer to.

From what I understand about IMBRA, the USC's criminal background doesn't affect the approval. It is only concerned with informing the foreign fiance of the USC's background.

Most likely your case has been researched and approved, but they are waiting for the IMBRA related RFE to be turned in. When that happens they will be able to generate the NOA2 and send your case on.

You can't. When you log into USCIS you can see when your case was last updated--but not how many times it was updated.

Don't worry about touches--our case was touched only once--the day before it was approved! Some people's cases get touched many times others none.

My timeline used to say we would be approved as early as June 10--but we were approved May 9. It is just an estimate. Some people's applications take 6 months or even longer, but you will most likely be approved before the VJ estimate.

I just received an update on the status of our K1 application (from the CSC), it reads:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On July 8, 2006, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued.

Does this mean it has been approved? I have a bad feeling that they did not just simply say "Your case was approved".

Has anyone else received this type of notice?


I thought I saw someone post something similar--it had something to do with an RFE.
I see by your timeline you have recieved one and sent it back--perhaps USCIS hasn't recorded it yet.

Since you are traveling for business, I don't see how the subject of your fiance visa would even come up.
If you have your return ticket, paperwork confirming your registration at the training, and something from your company that shows you are expected to return to London after the training--I don't see a problem.

We just wrote our names on the backs of our photos. My fiance's photos were actually more than 30 days old by the time he sent them to me, I organized the packet and mailed it.

I think they just want to be sure the photos are recent.

If you are not planning to live in the United States, then you don't need a K-1 visa. The K-1 visa is for people who want to immigrate to the United States, specifically to marry a US citizen who lives here.
