Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI'm filing this week
Do you have joint insurance (medical, dental, life)? What about a joint car title? You could also submit a couple of affidavits. If I were you I would write a cover letter and explain the lack of a joint bank account. At the same time I would submit older bank statements that prove that you once did have a joint account. Make sure your evidence covers the entire 2 years. Good luck.

Congratulations, Silke!

Just got my NOA1 and on it is stated that early Biometrics is not possible. Since my wife and I are going on a vacation to celebrate our 3rd. Wedding Anniversary in August, I'll try to get an early Biometric session as well should the appointment date interfer with our travel intinary.

I hope they will let you do a walk-in too! Good luck!

Hi Silke,

I don't know about San Marcos, CA ASC. But most ASC do allow early biometric as long as you have the appointment letter and other government issued IDs.

Try this ASC locator.

https://egov.uscis.g...office_type=ASC

If they are open on weekends. Go ahead and do the biometric appoint. Also some ASC might ask for infopass.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the link! I hope they will be able to squeeze me in on Saturday.

After 53 days of waiting I finally received my biometrics notice on Saturday. Since my appointment is still more than 2 weeks away, I would like to go in for an early biometrics.

Does anybody know if the ASC in San Marcos, CA accepts walk-ins? Thanks!

I had 2 people do an affidavit for me at the beginning of June because I was planning on sending in our package this month. But, now we are buying a house and so we are going to wait until the end of July to send in our package so that we can use our new address in our application and show proof of the title, etc. Since the affidavits will be almost 2 months old by then, do you think I should get them to redo them, or will they still be fine to send in? Are there any rules on this? Thanks!

I would get them dated as close to the actual submission date as I could.

I received mail for biometrics today, appointment on July 8, but I have to move to another state with my husband on Jul 2 until the next year. We don't move permanently, therefore I cannot change mailing address or re-schedule biometrics at the new place. I drove to local USCIS, came in and told them the situation. they said you have to wait. I waited for more than 4 hours at their office, finally they did the biomentrics for me. Phew..., I did it.

Congrats on getting your biometrics done! Sounds like I might be in for a long wait on Saturday (I'm planning on doing a walk-in as well).

I just had my biometrics taken! I did not even have to explain why I wanted to do a walk-in and was in and out in 40 minutes.

Did I finally receive the letter, did USCIS sent out a notice that the appointment got cancelled. It seems that they have cancelled all appoints form July 5-10, 2009. I assume they'll be closed on July 3rd. I will try July 10th. The original appointment was schedule for the 9th. What time do they open? We are going on vacation in 23 weeks and thought it to be over with then till the next step. blush.gif blink.gif

I guess you could try a walk-in before the holiday weekend. Try the ASC office locator to find out about the opening times of your local office: https://egov.uscis.g...office_type=ASC Good luck!

Hey All,

I'm still waiting on my biometrics appointment letter. I'm not sure if things have gotten screwy because hubby and I moved states about a month after sending our application. I updated my address online and got a letter from USCIS confirming it. It's been about 50 days - does anyone have any advice for me so that I don't fall through the cracks and get forgotten? I've tried calling the misinformation line but it's been a couple years since I've called and I can't figure out how to get to a person. And of course my I-797C receipt number doesn't work for case status like everyone else. I appreciate the help!

Eli

To get to talk to an actual person I chose the "lost receipt number" option. Good luck!

Hello All,

I checked my mailbox this morning and my biometrics appointment notice was delivered. I have my biometrics on 07/09/09. Hope you all receive yours soon.

Regards,

Maan

I also finally received my notice on 06/23/2009 for an appointment on 07/09/2009.
This is a work day for me, do you think I could do just a walk-in on Friday, which is my day off? Which is 06/26, as I assume 06/09/2009
the offices might be closed due to the holiday the next day.

I don't have any experience with walk-ins yet but I will try to do an early biometrics this coming Saturday. I hope they will be able to squeeze us both in! Good luck.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRetail Theft - Affecting I-751 rejection?
QUOTE (danie115 @ Apr 3 2009, 07:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
On the I-751 form it says

NOTE: Unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related, you do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines and incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500.00 and or points on your driver's license.

because it says "incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500.00" does this mean our municipal code violation can be considered as one of these exceptions because the maximum fine is 200$ for first offense?

The way I read it, that only applies to traffic violations, not to retail theft. I would report it, if I were you. Better to report it and let them judge than find out you had to to report it but you didn't.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRelocating to California and removal of conditions
QUOTE (jasminelily @ May 13 2009, 04:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Probably not AT&T, as AT&T in Texas is the same way, cannot add another name, doesn't matter house phone/internet/cable TV, only one name, probably the one with better credit, otherwise they would ask for security deposit. Electricity and gas are easy, they don't even ask any question or ask to see any documents.

I had AT&T in Chicago as well, but it showed 2 names, that's why I thought it wasn't a problem.. oh well, it's probably going to be ok even without the utility bills, like rkl57 said. star_smile.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRelocating to California and removal of conditions
Thank you guys!
So far we only set up Gas and electric (one bill only, as this company does both) and AT&T, and AT&T was the one that told me we couldn't add another name to the account in California. I'll call SDEG (San Diego Electric and Gas) in a couple of months to ask them to add my husband at least on the billing address. Thank you for the feedback!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRelocating to California and removal of conditions
Hi guys,
I'm already gathering all documents and evidence of our marriage for my removal of conditions, even if I just received my conditional card 2 months ago innocent.gif
Anyway.. I have just relocated to San Diego from Chicago, and when I set up the utilities I was told that in California you can't show 2 names on the bills (mine and my husband's). Is this true? I wanted to have both names on our utilities as extra evidence for my paperwork..
Any advice?
Thank you!
