There is still time for your friend to submit her/his I-751 petition. Tell her/him to gather all the required documents and submit it to CSC asap!

Yes, you can have someone related to you write the affidavit. In my case, my sister-in law offered to write one for us.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTax Transcripts
I used my husband's SSN as he is the primary tax payer but still wasn't able to request the transcript for 2008.

What I wanted to add is, when we prepared the paperwork for our AOS in 2007, we also orderd IRS tax transcripts and received them all (including the one for 2006!) before April 15th...so there is still hope that it will all work out this time as well and that we will have the transcript in hand when my ROC window opens.

QUOTE (waiting-1 @ Feb 18 2009, 01:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We tried to order a transcript of our 2008 tax return to submit with I-751, but the IRS phone system told us that it is not possible and without giving any reasons. We just filed our 2008 return about one week ago and it was accepted by the IRS. Has anyone run into this problem before?

I ran into the same problem yesterday...I will definitely keep calling but if I don't have the transcript for our 2008 return by the time my 90-day window opens, I will do what some of you suggested and submit printouts of our returns along with the W2s.

no utility bills at all? how is that possible? cell phone with a family plan? credit card? just some things to think about.

It's totally possible.. we do pay as you go cell phones.. everything else was existing already in my husband's name.. and most utility companies we chat with won't add 2 names to an account..

I have a credit card and hubby is an authorized user, but it doesn't show that on our statements.

You could request a letter from your bank stating that your husband is an authorized user. We did the same since my name doesn't appear on our statements either.

Looks good.

Have you moved since becoming a conditional permanent resident? If so, include a list of all the addresses you've lived at since you were granted PR status.

What about copies of credit cards or a joint car title? Do you have any other tax related documents besides the 2007 transcript that you could add (e.g. 1099s addressed to the both of you)?
Do you still have time to request the IRS tax transcript for 2008? If you decide to submit a copy of your return, I believe you also have to include your W2s (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHow long will take from the moment you request the IRS Transcripts?
1. I was able to request our 2008 transcript yesterday (= 6 days after filing electronically).
2. I received other tax transcripts that I'd requested previously after about a week. I'm expecting our 2008 transcript to show up in the mail early next week.

I would probably go ahead and do the same as you did for your AOS which is to list "FNU John" under "other names used"...

Why didn't you have them correct your name on your F1 visa when it was issued?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionFiling I-751 questions
In my case, I left the "In Care Of" field blank.

I became a PR in July of 2007, so we are submitting bank statements/utility bills for that month, December 2007, July 2008, December 2008 and April 2009 (we already submitted bank statements/utility bills covering the time from the day we got married till the day my AOS was approved at our AOS interview).

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionFiling I-751 questions
1. None ( see I-751 instructions)
4. I put down both city and state
5. http://www.visajourn...1_Affidavit.doc
6. We will submit a few pictures covering the past 2 years ( we are not going to include any wedding pictures though since we already presented them during our AOS interview)
7. It's not necessary to include every single utility bill or bank statement; maybe 3 per year will do!
8. Submit tax returns for the years you've been married
9. No

What about joint health insurance, boarding passes from trips that you have taken together, memberships and subscriptions? Is your car in both of your names? Are you each other's beneficiaries as far as life insurance and retirement plans are concerned?
These are just some additional ideas. Your list looks good. Good luck!
