Hiya guys. I just got card production ordered email this morning. We sent off hubby's forms 5/22, got NOA1 dated 5/26, and had biometrics on 7/1. Once we could access online case status, it always said they received the application on 6/3. Not sure what accounts for that. Anyway, yay. That's 66 days from package sent to card production ordered. We've been incredibly lucky with our USCIS processing times.

Congrats!

Had my biometrics appointment today. The two people working there (the guy doing the biometrics and the woman checking everyone in) were clearly in the middle of a blazing row (involving much yelling at each other, storming off and door-slamming!), so the 5 or 6 of us who were in the waiting room were shuffling around awkwardly giving each other "uh-oh!" looks. unsure.gif Biometrics guy was very nice to me, though, and I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes.

Nothing else to report, but thought I'd post to bump the thread! smile.gif

Congrats on getting your biometrics done! Nothing to report here either...

I received the same cancellation notice today. I'm glad I did a walk-in on Saturday (my actual appointment would have been on July 9th). Maybe you could try to do a walk-in as well?!

Hey Silke,

Are you 100% sure that your walk-in and now the cancellation of your original biometrics is not going to mess up all your Biometrics process? I mean... now you should receive another biometrics appointment letter and maybe they will cancel you original appointment in the system or something like that.

For that reason I am not going to do the early walk-in. I know thay MAYBE could speed up the process a little bit but this is the USCIS... and I don't want to take the risk of any bigger delay or problem. I am going to be patient with that and wait until the original appointment date. I hope to receive the appointment soon and I hope will be one with no cancellation or delays.

In any case good luck and let us know any news in your case.

I called USCIS and they said it was actually a good thing that I did a walk-in on Saturday because of the appointment cancellations we've been seeing...

I got a response to my service request on Saturday - they basically just sent me a copy of my biometrics notice, saying that my case would be considered abandoned if I don't show.

And then I got home from work just now to yet ANOTHER envelope from USCIS - this one a biometrics cancellation notice. Sigh. Looks like (from my quick scanning of this and the AOS forum) that appointments (all of them?) on July 7, 8 and 9 are being cancelled.

Anyone else got one of these cancellation notices? Hopefully it won't take 'em too long to schedule a new appointment... blah.

That puzzles me, too - the business about CRI89. ?? I guess as long as you're in, that's all that matters but - does anyone else's read like that??

This is what my NOA says: Upon receipt of your ASC appointment notice , you can find the status of your case online at www.uscis.gov. To view the status of your case, enter the application number found at the top of the ASC appointment notice. NOTE: The I-751 form type will be listed as "CRI89" under the application type in our case status online tool.

Really? That has changed, then, since we did AOS 2 years ago (and from the K1, etc).

During the AOS process I also used my NOA receipt number to check my status online but for ROC things are different. Down at the bottom of my ROC NOA it says "Upon receipt of your ASC appointment notice, you can find the status of your case online..."

I have been following this thread even though I filed in late April.

It's been 52 days since CSC received my application and issued my NOA and I still haven't gotten my biometrics notice. I have an infopass appointment this coming Monday so hopefully that will get things moving...

Looks good. Some other things you could submit are: copies of joint credit cards and copies of boarding passes from trips that you have taken together. Do you have joint health and dental insurance? If yes, you could submit proof of that as well.

Getting a letter from HR stating that your wife is your beneficiary of your work life insurance is a very good idea good.gif. We included such a letter as well.

If it's not too much trouble, I would add a couple of affidavits from friends. In my opinion they add a personal touch to the whole application.

Make sure all your evidence covers the entire 2 years!

By the way, we did not submit copies of our passports.

Congrats on your baby boy star_smile.gif

Silke, we haven't moved at any point since filing the original K-1, not entirely out of fear of how badly such things seem to throw USCIS, but sort of lucky on that point ourselves. Perhaps that helped us get the reminder letter? tongue.gif They should get your address right now though, off the removing conditions packet you sent in.

I hope you are right! smile.gif

We submitted a lot of strong, primary evidence but also included a couple of affidavits. The affidavits probably won't have a big impact but we figured it wouldn't hurt to send them.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving Conditions and CA drivers license
Thank you so much! I am already relieved smile.gif

I know things might change in 2 years but hopefully they will continue accepting the extension letter as a proof. It's already a relief knowing you were able to have your license renewed for another year that way.

Thank you so much again!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving Conditions and CA drivers license
Hello everyone,
I have searched this topic several times and still cannot find an answer to my question, so I'm hoping someone here that has been through the same problem can give me a heads up.

My conditional Green Card will expire on March 2011, and my CA driver's license will expire the same day (I heard some people were lucky and got a regular 5 year license, but unfortunately I wasn't).
That being said, since I commute 20 miles to work every day mon through fri, it would not be good for me if I wouldn't be able to renew my CA license once the time comes to file the I-751.
The CA DMV website shows the I-551 stamp as an accepted proof of eligibility, but doesn't say anything about extension letters (the one we receive after we file the I-751).
Has anyone gone through this before and what do I need to show to the DMV office when my license will expire?
Should I get a stamp on my passport for another year or the extension letter will suffice? Has anyone tried this in CA?

Thank you! star_smile.gif

I will have the same problem in a few months.. but I was told that CA DMV accepts the NOA1 as proof of extension :)

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionDO I NEED TO RENEW MY PASSPORT?

some airlines may insist on the 6 months validity on passport as most airlines base their information on IATA's TIMATIC database which may not always be very accurate.

Absolutely correct. I worked for an airline for 5 years, and that's what we were going by when checking passports to passengers. I wish I had known then what I know now about immigration :)

did you send in a Money Order or a check? If you sent a check, you can see if it was cashed already from you bank.

No it's not. If you have been married for 2 years or more when you do AOS (Adjustment of Status) you get a 10 year card, and do not have to go through Removal of Conditions. Phenixdragon is correct in his statement.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHow long does it take to be able to use USCIS site for tracking application?
I had the same issue after receiving my bio better in December. They only added my case on Jan 10 (yesterday). I tried today and that was the date of the last update, so I assume that's when they added it.
I had no problem seeing my I-485 case back on AOS, but I guess this time it took a little longer. Nothing to worry about really... My I-130 still shows under "Initial Review" :bonk:

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionName Change before or after removal of conditions

Now . . . I did change my first and my last name at the naturalization stage. But guess what, that doesn't effect my old (German) name. The authorities in Germany give a rat's behind on what I would like to call myself. For them I am who I have always been, which is cool, as it opens the world to two passports with two different names. I see an advantage in keeping the Old World and the New World completely separate.

Hi JustBob,
I will have the same "issue" once I change my name during Naturalization: 2 passports, 2 completely different names. Now, when you travel to Germany, which passport do/will you use? The name on the tickets will have to match the one on the passport as well, so if you book with your American name, you won't be able to use your German one upon arrival in Europe.. I'm just curious as to how this should be handled when the time comes :)
Thanks!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRFE ...
QUOTE (NArocks @ Sep 14 2009, 05:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Why are you waiting until the last moment to get the RFE in? What was exaclty requested? What did you send inititally? This will help others who have filed or have yet to file to make sure all is well

There's no reason why we waited so long. Just ... a bad move on our part. Initially we sent pictures and bank statements and income tax returns and copies of things such as theme park passes we hold with both names on it.

It's asking for rental information, letters from people who communally know us, statements from me (the resident removing conditions) about my marriage, financial records....

I think the main thing we need to provide is residence information. We rent a house with my sister in law from my husbands mother....

It's all so confusing and I will never leave it to the last minute again.
