I still haven't received the NOA2 hard copy (I want to send him a copy with my paperwork since it's been recommended).

Earlier this week, I received a letter in the mail from NVC stating they had mailed it out to Leb. :joy:

I called NVC today too and they said they mailed off our package yesterday. Received Monday, mailed off to Leb on Wednesday. Way to go NVC! SWEEEEET!

I still haven't received my NOA2 hard copy though. I'm hoping my nosy roommate didn't snatch it up from the mail first! That 'Department of Homeland Security' envelope is bound to raise some eyebrows!

Well, when I called on May 2nd USCIS officer told me I had been approved & my file sent to NVC back on April 24th (day of my touch) but I hadn't gotten any email or online update. Then on May 3rd I got the approval emails like a lot of us did....so I am waiting to get my NOA2 in the mail to find out if my NOA2 date is officially May 3rd or April 24 (it prob is May 3rd).

But yeah I got my approval emails on May 3rd & NVC just got my file as of last nite so I bet a lot of you with May 3rd approvals got sent to NVC too. Or maybe they sent mine off April 24th like the USCIS officer told me (but I took that with a grain of salt...).

Anybody else as confused as me? LOL! :blush:

Now I heard that my guy has to give a month and a half notice before he can leave his job & prob won't give notice til he's approved for the Visa. Arghhhhhh!

MY CASE IS AT NVC!! My heart's pounding! :jest:

I just called tonite (late Monday nite) and NVC said they JUST got my file!!! I asked if they knew when they would be mailing it off (yeah right) & the VERY foreign lady (I could barely understand her accent) said they'd send me a letter within 2-4 weeks letting me know (standard info I guess).

So I bet a lot of the other May 3rd Approvals got sent at the same time!! :joy:

Now hopefully they'll send it on in their customary few days like they used to! GOOD LUCK ALL!

You read my mind!! Count me in! Hopefully that big stack of approved NOA2's from May 3rd was/will be all shipped out at once ASAP!! I bet they don't want a HUGE stack sitting around the USCIS for weeks!!?? :yes:

P.S. - I am scared of the NVC Forum...I don't know what they're talking about over there! LOL! Fees & stuff? I guess it has to do with other types of petitions....?

NOA2 on May 3rd, but no

I also received the approval emails on May 3rd and I still haven't received the NOA2 in the mail either.

I did receive the hard copy letter in the mail from the NVC yesterday (Sat.) stating they had sent my packet onto the Foreign Consulate!

I do hope the NOA2 gets here soon so I can send it onto my fiance for his interview!

I called USCIS again just now and found out I was APPROVED back on April 24th!! I posted a new topic on it.

Ridiculous how the online status didn't change, nor was I sent any emails. FIGURES!!!

THe officer I spoke with didn't mention anything about pending approval though like another VJer mentioned...

TimsDaisy, I work with a girl that is moving to the UK to marry a British guy and her approval was finished in a week or 2. :blink:

I told my guy to just go to Mexico and make a run for the border. LOL. He'd probably end up on CNN if he got busted though. JUST KIDDING!

Anyway, yeah she told me exactly what it says online, blah blah blah. I told her that I had gotten 'touched' last week - she was like "you got WHAT?" - LOL. She asked if it had been within 6 months of me filing yet....grrrrrrrrrrrr. I told her that I just wanted to make sure the online notification was working right....

What the heck # did you guys push to actually talk to a human being??? I wonder if I call and press the 'change of address' number I'll get better info like a previous poster got. Jeez, somebody just wake me when all of this is over.

Hi, we are also waiting for interview in Brasil, only consulate for interviews will be in Rio for the I129/130 visas. They can do either Portuguese or English, no problem, most of the consulate workers speak better portuguese than english anyway. From other posts it seems both can be present during the interview, and it's pretty much the same questions. Boa sorte!

While reading topics and timelines here today, I received the text from USCIS we've been waiting 5 months for, approval of our I-129F!!
What a cruel process this is!! :wacko:

It is still unacceptable to wait this long, or 8 months, a year or more....I can't begin to describe the relief, except there is still the interview, and actually getting the visa in hand. Tchau

NVC received!

Called NVC (603)334-0700 today after several attempts and waiting about 10 min for a person to answer.
Gave them the NOA #, Beneficiary and Petitioner Names and birthdates, then she gave me our case number, and said it will be enroute to the Rio de Janeiro consulate soon. :dance:

So are you planning for the child to accompany you when you depart for the United States or will the child follow later? The child will be on a K2 visa. You will be needing your devorce papers to make sure the father is out of the picture.

Does the child have a passort? Is the child carrying the fathers last name or yours?

Marina and I would like her daughter Yulia to come with us to the USA. She has her fathers last name. She does not have a passport. What do I need to do for K2 visa? I was under the impression it was connected to her mothers K1, because I listed her in the K1 application as a dependant. I also provided birth certificate and a passport sized photo. I also put pictures of me and her daughter together. As far as I know, Russian children do not get passports until they are 14 years old.

It allows me to see how close October is to begin pouring in. Just a guestimate, several of us will begin seeing NOA2 by around Valentine's day.

I am not sure i understand why you believe we will see NOA2's by Valentines day. When I look at Igors list it looks like they are slowely progressing through August, maybe only 50% complete. This seems to be up 30% from 2 weeks ago. This leads me to believe it will be longer than 1 month before they get to October filers, they still need to complete September.

Am I looking at this all wrong? My NOA1 is dated October 1, wondering when I can expect NOA2.

Yeah I know how you feel. I haven't seen Tom in 6 months, and the last month or so has been the worst, mainly due to Christmas and New Year. Luckily I'm seeing him in February but it can't come quick enough! We are all in the same boat together, but like it says in my siggy, a few months apart is worth it when you'll have forever together.

I talk to her every day on the phone and we do a videoconference every night, so we can see each other and chat. Sometimes I'll setup the laptop so we can chat while I am eating dinner, and vice versa for her. It makes it kind of like we are having a meal together. The time difference gets difficult, I find myself up at 4am sometimes so we can chat on her lunch break at work. Right now I'm going through the process on buying a house for us so it will be difficult to pay to travel there to see her soon. I just wish these people at USCIS would hurry up my application. I understand they get mountains of applications, and that the list for October filers I see on this website probably is only a small percentage of the total number they get. I just wish there was something I could do to speed up the process. My fiance and I are very much in love. Our waiting to be together is a small price to pay for the lifetime of happiness I am certain we will have together.

Hey guys.

I am also an October Filer. I sent mine in on the 26th of September 2008, my check was cashed on October 1, NOA1 came on October 3 in the mail. My Case status notes October 1 as the last day anything was "touched." It is now mid January and I am a bit concerned something is wrong. My I-129F/K1 hasn't been touched since that initial NOA. I sent this to the Vermont Service Center.

I miss my sweetie pie soooo mucchh. We talk nightly of course, but we really want to be together soon. Because of my work situation I can't make another trip over to Russia to see her soon, bossman won't give me time off. How much longer can I expect to wait for my sweetie to come here?

NOA2 to Interview

I'm needing a bit of advice. My fiance is from the UK and we are planning for an April 7, 2011 wedding (his brother's in medical school...TIGHT schedule) and we just received our NOA2 Nov 17th. Does anyone know from this point on how long to expect the interview, etc? I've read through the Guides, and tried to estimate, but I'm wondering if anyone has any other info....We have all of our documents ready to go to send to them once we hear from the Embassy, and at this point...I'm stressing on whether I should change the wedding date to later?!?! Anyone have any words of wisdom out there??? I'm quite the stressed out bride! :unsure:

I have been doing a lot of research about scars in lungs and the 3 day sputum test and 2 month delay... Are there any cases where they did see a scar/scars and the Dr. decided it was due to primary complex and that the scar has been there ever since childhood that they would approve the medical examination without the sputum test? My fiance are in this situation right now... I told her that I have just received the NVC case number and asked her questions pertaining to her medical history and she told me about her lung scar due to primary complex as a child but told me she is negative for TB. I did some research on this here (VJ) and was disappointed as to how many couples have been through this same ordeal. I told her to get another x-ray done with a medical certificate so SLEC can compare iy with their findings and she did so yesterday. Would it also be beneficial to have a TB test also done with a medical certificate to prove that she does not have active TB? Would SLEC even consider this? We want to totally avoid the sputum test and the 2 month delay if possible. Fellow VJer's who have had experience in this area please chime in. Thanks.

Initially you have two issues that I can see just from reading your post.

1. It seems that you still have questions of whether you want to marry your boyfriend. To qualify for a K-1 (fiance visa) you have to be engaged. In other words, you already agreed that the both of you want to marry.

2. You are only separated. To qualify for the K-1 visa, you have to be free to marry (divorced in your case).

However, I will say that once you get engaged and divorced, you met those two requirements. But keep in mind that there are other requirements (i.e. have met in person within the last 2 years, etc...) I just realized I didn't answered one of your question. You can not marry someone while you are still married to someone else. That is illegal. A separation is not a divorce. You must first get divorced, then you are free to marry someone else. But if you marry him overseas, you no longer qualify for a fiance visa (K-1), your only option then is CR-1 (for already married couples).
