Was told "we are going to go ahead and authorise that, you will get it in a few days"! I am so excited.... I want to thank everyone on VJ for all your help, whether it was directly to me or through me reading other people's topics. Philippines	Expiration of Visa	Yup...no worries...the Embassy routinely extends active petitions. Thanks Tahoma. That's good to know that they don't base it from the time I paid the visa. The medical exam in Manila is such a pain and I do get their point why they're so strict. I've asked my parents to do a medical exam before the actual petition began so I'd know if they have any medical issues, but I guess it's different from St. Luke's result. I wasn't sure if they extend active petition. Thank you for replying. Philippines	Expiration of Visa	She doesn't even have her visa yet so its not going to be expired. A visa has to be issued to have an expiration date. I think you are talking about the petition expiration! Generally the USEM extends the petition automatically. I got confused with the expiration date. I guess it's the petition expiration. Philippines	Expiration of Visa	HI, I'd like to ask a question about expiration of visa. I applied for I-130 for both my parents. I remember when I paid the visa last July that it's stated there that it's only valid for a year (when i paid online through travelvisas.gov.). When they had medical last November, they find a scar on my mom's chest x-ray and was advised to have a sputum culture test and it will take 2 months for the result and if it's POSITIVE, it will take her 6 months treatment for tuberculosis. My dad, on the other hand, is advised to do a skin test and SLEC said that they will call the US Embassy to reschedule the interview. From the timeline that I have, if she's positive, will it expire her visa and do I need to go back to square one for this OR the Embassy or National Visa Center extends the visa that I paid? I'm positive that she will have a negative result, but I'm still wondering what if she got a positive result. I hope I could get response from this. I checked and it was there. Then for the next 3 1/2 months, whenever I checked, nothing changed until one day I got the approval email and then the hard copy followed a few days later. Hi everybody....i know this is a little late, but I just got back from the philippines, where I attended the K-1 interview with Rhiz. Every thing went very smooth, we got the PINK!!!!! Also the visa was delivered just 3 days later, wow, seems still not to be real, but in a short time, Rhiz and I will be together here in San Diego, and then ready for the next step, ha ha ha. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	how to wait patiently & positively	Hi everyone!! Wow, very cool thread! It seems we can all agree that constant communication with our significant other is the biggest help of all. And since we are both waiting together and getting through this process together the end result will be more meaningful and joyous. We talk at least twice a day, emails and texts. And I get to see my fiance every Sunday (she doesn't have a computer so she goes to a internet cafe). I encourage her to enjoy her friends and family because things will change soon. Of course it's hard to wait. There are those days........ But we both see it as an exciting time. There is so much to look forward to with our futures. It's a personal journey for sure, but reading these posts makes me feel like we are all in this together. I work a lot so that helps. I love to oil paint, read and hit the gym. A good movie helps of course. But even during the aforementioned things that keep me busy, it comforts me that she is there with me spirit. And this is what keeps me going the most. And the fact that we will be together for Christmas and New Years. Happy waiting....... there will be an end..... hopefully sooner than we think!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	so desperate to hear a word from USCIS	Hi everyone,I know I am one of hundreds and hundreds and I guess I am just venting but I am so desperate to hear something soon.We filled in August last year (feels good to say this) It will be our fifth month of waiting next week,then we should probably start to be pests and start calling them.I just hate our lives on hold especially having all the exciting and fun plans that we have.We want to have our wedding on May 1st and I guess soon I will start to worry that we wont make it in time.Well hopefully we will :)Thanks to all of you being helpful and cheerful!I know this journey is worth it and I know I am lucky to have my fiancee visiting once in a couple months.I just want to start living like two normal people without being constantly worried about the whole thing not working out and even having to prove our love to someone who wouldnt care less if we will be together or not....you know what I mean Wish good luck to all of you and have a good new year!!! Of course when I called the first time this morning to check status, the Cust. Svc Rep just saw the same screen that I had seen...made me feel like an idiot or something...nice to know there's a "NEXT LEVEL" where you can get some real info. So I took a fellow VJ'ers lead (I'm sorry I can't remember who right now) and called USCIS back for a 2nd time today. This time I followed the prompt to 'change of address'. When I got the Cust. Serv. Rep they said that they couldn't find my Receipt # (hmmmmm), to they transfered me to an OFFICER, who told me that I was APPROVED back on April 24th (day of my first touch) and that they had mailed me out an approval notice which I should get within the week. I told him my status hadn't changed online and he said he didn't know anything about that...he was very nice though. I also asked if my packet had been sent to NVC & he said it had on April 24th....(I will take this part with a grain of salt since that sounds pretty fast considering what's been happening lately). TimsDaisy, etc. Call USCIS and use the change of address prompt. This apparently is best way to find out if it's been approved but status hasn't changed online yet!! YAY! I have a very straight forward, easy divorce as well but back in 2000. I wonder if they just started the Security/BAckground Check with my touch and now we wait til the all-clear. Not sure why someone in the UK would have to wait a long time for a background check though. I'm just rambling...trying to make sense of all of this.
