Hi Rami,

I don't know what you're able to afford but you might try finding a birth center and have your baby delivered by a midwife if your pregnancy is going well and you're expecting a healthy baby. They won't take high-risk births. They are a low-cost alternative for many people, often reducing costs by 70%. Here's a link to start you out: http://www.birthcent...a-birth-center/

Good luck!

Middle East and North AfricaExperiences with Lebanon?
Hello!

Anybody have experience with the I-129F (Fiance) Visa thru Lebanon? I think I'm the only one in the last few months...and there is no info on it in the Embassies area.

I was just wondering what is needed for the Interview, how difficult or long they may be and how long a police certificate takes, etc.??

Thanks in advance! :help:

One way or round trip? Rio is about 800-900 round trip on average (to LAX), Sao Paulo about the same range. American Airlines had a special earlier this month with date restrictions, check that site if it's been extended.

as long as you have a valid visa to come over in US you are good to go but make sure that you will come back to the country where you are prior to the expiration of your visa anyways you will take your interview in Bahamas so you have to go back but sometimes it depends to immigration officer guts which means that if they feel like your will not coming back they will send you back but as Zen Den said just bring proof that you are attending the convention and proof that you will coming back ie bank accounts, business certificates, house etc. Hope you will find the officer with nice guts good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisa Approved after 221(g)
To follow up on my previous post regarding the issuance of a 221(g) after my Fiance's interview a few weeks ago, he was approved just 2 days after we responded to the Embassy!!! :D

We were both so discouraged and frustrated after the interview because we felt like we provided the Embassy with MORE than enough proof of our relationship. We followed the guides to a "T" and front-loaded our Petition, but were still issued a 221(g) and asked to provide more proof of our relationship. In response, we submitted signed Affidavits from our family and friends, a "Relationship Evolution Letter", about 55 additional pictures and another 50 pages of Skype conversations that were not included with the POUNDS of evidence we submitted with Packet 3. The Embassy received the additional evidence on Tuesday and my Fiance was called and asked to send his passport today (just 2 days later). I am so relieved. Now we just need to wait and see if they send his visa back in time for him to be here with me in sunny San Diego for Christmas... what an amazing gift that would be!

To all of those going through this ridiculous process, especially those in AP... DO NOT GIVE UP OR LOSE HOPE!

Thank you VJ! We couldn't have done this without you and look forward to relying on you again in the future.

Best of luck to everyone!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of support, am I screwed?

Oh, I was just about to post a question about this (still might!)... where do you and your fiance have a joint account? My fiance is a UK citizen as well and all the banks I've checked with won't allow him to get a US account without a social security #, and I can't get a UK account without being a resident....

Thanks :)

I just used my usual bank, San Diego County Credit Union, it might have something to do with the fact that it is a credit union. I had to get a copy of his passport and this form from the bank notarized.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of support, am I screwed?
Thanks everyone for responding. I'm glad I still have time, hopefully I can find a co-sponsor. It's difficult considering that I only have one parent and all my friends are in college doing part-time jobs like me. I have one option maybe...we are friends with a couple who might be able to co-sponsor, but I was wondering if military people can co-sponsor? All I need is someone who earns enough for him/herself,whom ever they live with and my fiancee according to the national poverty guideline right?

is it a sure thing that I can postpone the AOS for up to 8 months? that would give me enough time to have a full time job, and my mum would probably have a full-time job by then too.

oh and as for my assets I only have a car and I'm still paying it off. If I can use savings account balances then it might be good. My fiancee and I have a joint account in which we both put our money into. We would have hopefully saved up about 10 grand by that time. Would that make a significant difference?

Thank you, really! sorry I have so many questions...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of support, am I screwed?
I have a problem. I am a US Citizen and my fiancée is a British citizen. We have been together 3 years, with a well documented history of our relationship. We plan to immigrate him to the US via the CR-1 Visa. We are to be married in December, 2010. He is to come to the US on a tourist visa and he is to return to his country. We then plan on filing the CR-1 visa.
I am currently attending university and I have a part-time job. I am to graduate June 2011. Because I am in school I cannot have a full time job. I planned on continuing on to grad school but this is where the problem arises. My mother was going to co-sponsor my fiancée on the affidavit of support with me, but she got laid off. She is now on unemployment and is going to school, she will graduate June of 2011. Now there is no one to co-sponsor with me. I cannot get a full time job, my schedule doesn’t allow it and I most certainly will not drop out of University when I’m so close to graduating. It seems that there is no alternative to not going to grad school now.
If I apply for the CR-1 visa in February, how long would it be until I would have to turn in my affidavit of support? Is it possible to be approved if I started my full time job in June? The job I have now would allow me to go on full time then, but they need my last 3 year's taxes and I'm young I've only been working for about 2 years. I had been focusing on my studies. Will my age play a big role against me? What are my options? Please someone let me know what you think. Thank you.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIR-1/CR-1 questions
Hi all,

My unofficial fiance and I have been reading about the different types of Visas. We're confused as to which visa is best for us to get everything done the quickest way.

Here is a link to my first post here explaining our situation.
http://www.visajourn...h...=227585&hl=

We've basically ruled out any Fiance visa because that would mean she would be stuck in Tijuana or in San Diego for a long time while her new Visa get's processed. What we're looking at is either a K3 or the IR-1/CR-1.

One of my questions is, since she already has a B2, will any of those visas mean that she will lose her B2 and not be able to cross back and forth from Mexico to the US as she does right now? She crosses almost everyday from Tijuana to San Diego, she works in Tijuana, she wants to be able to stilll do this while her status is being regularized.

Because of her tourist visa it would be better to get married in Mexico, but what do you think is the best way to do it?

What would you guys reccomend?

Thanks,

Rafster

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhat is getting touched?
You can create an online account to check on your case status. Whenever the date changes in the "Last Updated" column, we talk about a "touch". It means they worked on your application or simply moved your file from one desk to another.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsplease explain?!?!.....
Your fiance should have a complete copy of everything you sent with your I-129F.
Anything you copied and sent as evidence for the I-129F, should be sent to your fiance, in case they want to see the original documents at the interview. For example--your birth certificate(you can get a certified copy from the county if you don't want to send him your only copy), the originals of cards/letter/e-mails that were included with your petition, if you sent photos, make sure he has duplicates of those photos, the originals of the boarding passes, itineraries, receipts, etc. Send the originals of everything that you sent as evidence and documentation for your petition. The only thing you WON'T send is your passport.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOE2

Can anyone tell me if they got a e-mail notice on thier NOE2 before getting it in snail mail?
also those of you that got NOE2 already that was pretty fast, did u notice if you had a lot or a little amount of handling of your file. I think they call them touches? I have had NOE1 on the 9th and they touched it on the 15th and nothing since.
I ask do to having a NOE1 to NOE2 in 22 days 3 yrs. ago and it seems like they are slower now.

I think you mean NOA, not NOE.
You can find all the information you want by clicking on the "Immigration Timelines" tab above.

In answer to your question--yes, many people get an e-mail notification before the document arrives in the mail.
pnd629FemaleUnited Kingdom2007-06-02 10:53:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI think I should call someone
If the check has been cashed then you know they received your application. This is a long process and there is a lot of waiting involved.
Since your application has to be transferred from Texas to California it takes a couple weeks for them to issue NOA1 and then a few days for the mail to deliver it.

PhilippinesNeed Assistance

Hello,

I am new to this site but a friend referred me here. My girlfriend is from the Philippines and still going through her annulment. she has her court date in Feb. to see if the judge will grant it to her. We are trying to figure out which way is faster for us to take for us to get married and get her a visa for America, either file for a K1 visa or get married in the Philippines and file for the spousal visa. We have been together for 2 and a half years and we worked together in Qatar where we met and stayed together for 19 months. She is now back in the Philippines where i have been visiting her were just not for certain which way to go. We want to get married as soon as possible so we can be together. We know it will take some time either way it goes, we just want to take the fastest way so we can finally be together. Please someone give us some guidance on which way we should go and what to look for. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you so very much

Wait until her anulment is done and the file for K-1. K-1 is about 3 months faster. The first part fo the process (your petition) takes about 6 months, the second part depends on your embassy, normally 2-3 months. If you file for K-1 you cannot get married until see arrives the US. If you get married before she arrives the US, you have to file for CR-1. The CR-1 process can take easily a year. I will warn you that if you file for a K-1, it is going to cost you more, because you have to file for the K-1 to enter the US and then after you get married, you also have to file for adustment of status. If you file CR-1 you only have to file once.

If money is not a problem, I recommend you do the same we did...we filed for K-1 because is was faster. Then, my fiancee came to the US, we got married and then filed fo adjustment of status.

I also recommend you go to the PI portal on this website and talk to other PI filers, they can tell you what their experience was at the US embassy in PI. Not every embassy runs the same way nor they have the same timeframes.
Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI'm a February filer!

I sent my I-129F Tuesday, and it was received yesterday in Lewisville! I'm so glad I've finally started the process and thank you all for all your help. I know it will be a long wait, but I'm prepared (hopefully..) and it will be worth it!

I, like you, sent my petition to TX. However, they forwarded it to the VSC. I received my NOA1 on 9 Nov 2011. We are just over 3 months of waiting and we are starting get tired of it. Perhaps because we should be receiving our NOA2 within the next 2 months. I am active duty military and just recently found out that I may be elligible for a expedite request. So I submitted one throught the USCIS on 4 Feb 2011, which I still have not hear anything about. I know, I know patience. Feel free to look at my profile to get the lastest processing times.

I wish you good luck.

I disagree 100%. About 3 and a half months into the process, I began complaining like a son-of-a you know what and within a week, my petition was approved. A handful of good friends of mine who filed their petition within days of mine ended up waiting over 6 months for their approval. If you complain hard "enough", you can get some action done. Trust me. It worked for me and it can work for others

Who did you call and what number did you use? I have been calling the USCIS number, but all they say they can tell me is that they hav ethe application and that it will be looked at in turn. Please let me know the number you called. THANKS A LOT FOR THE INFO! :)
