PhilippinesDELAYED VISA AFTER APPROVAL???
QUOTE (Simon & Mitch @ Oct 1 2008, 12:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I have a question. My Fiance Michelle has been to the Manila Embassy on 4 occasions for her interview.

9/05 - First Interview, and she was told they needed time to review
9/12 - Second interview, asked to return on the 15th with more pictures
9/15 - She arrived for a 3rd interview but they only took the pics from her and asked her to return 9/30
9/30 - After enduring a 3rd interview they only told her to wait for a notice in the mail. She did not receive any form of documentation.

Does the Embassy always give a pink slip once you have completed the interview and your visa is approved? Since she did not receive a pink I am worried that maybe she has been denied. Are there ever any cases where the pink slip is sent in the mail?

Thanks

Hmmm indeed thats very odd. That only meant 2 things, either she went to the interview without all the requirements or the CO is taking time reviewing her case. But why (there has to a GOOD reason why)? They will tell you right on during the interview if there is something wrong with your case where they would ask further evidence and such.

PhilippinesDELAYED VISA AFTER APPROVAL???
Yeah true, NSO takes more than 4 weeks to process our DV. We are told to call USEM every Monday or Tuesday for updates.

PhilippinesDELAYED VISA AFTER APPROVAL???
I dont know about other people's cases. But whats delaying mine is Document Verification, its been in NSO for 4 weeks now (this week would be the 5th).

As per USEM, you should pay your DV at least one month before your interview. The moment you pay your DV and informed delbros or USEM about the payment, they will send your DV to NSO thru delbros (courier service) every monday and they pickup results themselves every friday.

Follow up is the key. Apparently you have to constantly call them, USEM or Delbros to inquire if they had sent your docs to NSO and if so, is the DV done before your interview.

PhilippinesVISA delayed is VISA denied?
I am amazed you that much ####### during your interview. good.gif I bet thoughts of you tormented that CO for weeks. *giggles*

If you did that much and waited this long..... the next couple of days should be easier. smile.gif You'll be laughing at this once you get your visa.

You arent alone smile.gif.

I dont know about that. I've gotten nbi clearance since 2003 almost every year for work and for other stuff but all the time it always get "no record on file".

So all atheists in the world are cheaters?? blink.gif

All A are B.
C is A.
Therefore C is B.

wacko.gif

A, B & C are all the same.

We are all capable of cheating. We all have it in us, regardless of religion, race, beliefs... blah blah blah. We differ however on the degree of resistance.

PhilippinesCheating
I disagree, i DONT think cheating is a "Filipina thing" like it is imposed on this thread. Thats just plain racist. That would be like saying old Americans are Dirty Old Men who pry on young filipinas. Not trying to offend, just making a point.

And saying we like/prefer filipino men only that they arent financially sound so we go for americans is just uncalled for.

Philippineshelp me
Okay.... rough estimate.

Medical fees: P10,000 - 11,000 (since PhP value is plunging)
Visa Fee: P7,000 - 8,000
Plane ticket (Dvo to MNL): P8,000 - 9,500 (roundtrip, outright), PhP 6,000 - 7,000 (roundtrip, if booked early)

If you have family or friends in manila, i suggest stay there... hotels are expensive (PhP800 - 2,000/day).

Food would prolly be 200/meal.

Going to St. Lukes, I suggest take LRT instead of taking cabbies. No traffic, and its just PhP 15.00. You just get off United Nations station and walk 3 blocks (hindi mainit kasi theres a line of trees on the way there). Its air conditioned too.

Philippineshelp regarding NBI
On my nbi clearance it says "No record on file".... its renewal... there was no problem. But i got police clearance as well just in case. Its only PhP200.

I hear you dude.

In the whole process though, everythings been going smoothly and speedy enough. EXCEPT for the NSO DV. Its been stuck in there for almost 5 weeks now. Everyone we called told us to wait *sigh*. All i wanna know is if theres any progress with my DV or if there are any problems.

wink.gif Not dismayed... still waiting. Just letting off some steam. Its distressful when they give you a specific deadline and they dont follow thru. I was told by NSO and USEM DV takes 1-4 weeks. Its been 4 weeks in NSO and no progress. And theres no way to follow up your DV in NSO now. If it takes more than a month, they should have said so.

Not nearly as fast hehe. I think what helped was that now we can schedule our own interview.

Hmmm... I wonder how long it takes to culture a sputum sample? I hope your sample turns up negative and get your interview schedule. As i recall, people from SLMEC lacks customer service (my experience).... they just dont tell you anything... they just tell you go here and there. Im utterly clueless... wandering in the clinic... scared they might find something thats worth poking on.

Having to wait for anything which you clearly deserve (at least i think so) is inhumane. The whole process is stressful. Oh well, we cant complain. We did subject ourselves to such torture hahaha. I just know he is worth it and im smiling again like a chesire cat.

PhilippinesOCTOBER INTERVIEW WHO GOT THEIR VISA???
Nah, the call center is only good for scheduling interviews. Let your petitioner call USEM to get updates. They can see your number when you call coz they got confused with mine. They thought im in the US (yeah right)... coz i use a voip phone and it has a US number. But when they found out its local, she quickly told me to call the call center. I begged... begged... begged till she gave me info tongue.gif. Kissing a$$es are NOT pretty but it cant be helped.... and they seem to like it (Grrrrr).

well i was interviewed last october 3rd and when i called USEM and talked to lorriane, she told me my visa is all set and probably expect it in a week or 2 since i'm from cebu..though it hasn't been delivered yet, i'm confident since she confirmed it has been printed and ready for release..

baka na-release na rin sa'yo or something, don't worry, you'll get it soon in god's grace..

HELLO MJ3LAS VEGAS...
HOW DID YOU REACH LORRAINE COZ I AM HAVING A HARD TIME CALLING THE EMBASSY AND REACH SOMEONE WHO CAN TELL ME WHATS GOING ON..
PLEASE TELL ME... THANKS...

You just dial 301-2000, presss 0 for operator. Ask for Lorraine or Grace. Its always busy so just keep on pressing 0 till they answer.

The last time i called, i talked with Grace. I was told that number are for petitioners, not for beneficiaries. Beneficiaries are advised to call the call center. (eh!) blink.gif

I am embarrased for this. I'll go to my medical soon. How much exam will they do for the woman? I think I'll have my cycle at that time. If ever they will require that exam, maybe I should delay? helpsmilie.gif

They'll do a physical (wherein you are asked to strip), if you have you're period... you'll be asked to come back in 3-5-7 days.

Dont worry... its just basic tests (except you'll disrobe completely during the physical).

- Xray
- Blood test
- Urinalysis
- Weight and height
- Eye exam
- BP
- Physical exam
- Vaccines

That is if they dont see anything else that needs further probing. smile.gif

We paid 700.. I read where everyone says it is 650, but when Kris paid, they said the fee is 700..hummm

If you pay in metro bank outside of metro manila, theres a processing fee - PhP 50. So thats 650 + 50 = 700. Dont worry, you werent cheated.

Its breakdown is on the duplicate copy of the deposit slip.

According to their hotline, after you paid DV. USEM will send your docs to NSO thru Delbros every monday. And every friday, USEM will pick up the results themselves from NSO. They will forward the DV results to the CO who will review it and approve the visa (if all is okay). Then they'll release the passport with the visa and the packet to Delbros so they can deliver it to right recipient.

PhilippinesAugust 28,2008 interviewees, waiting for the visa!!!!
On this link http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3238.html , where the Immigrant and K Visa Applicant Appointment Package/Instructions, specifically Fiance(e) (K1/K2) Visa Applicants’ Interview Preparation Instructions (English) is posted... as of October 2008... they wiped out the portion about document verification.

BUT on this link http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3219.html , it states "Applicants whose visa eligibility is dependent upon their marital status (i.e. K-1, K-3, CR-1, IR-1, F-1 and F2-B categories) will normally need to have their documents verified through the National Statistics Office (NSO) before the U.S. Embassy in Manila can issue the visa. Those with a delayed birth or death certificate or only local civil registrar copies of such documents may need to have their documents verified."

Both links came from USEM official website so whether or not DV is removed, we dont know. As for applicants who were interviewed before October 2008, most of us submitted CENOMAR and BC issued by NSO and printed on NSO security paper. I was asked to provide those on the initial interview (by the pre-screener). And still they have us go thru DV. Their reason is there are a lot counterfeit BC and CENOMAR going around.

Hi PingLocalHostess. I was reading your timeline and got curious about how you knew that NSO sent your DV to USEM on Oct 3? Wow, you are almost there smile.gif

We (Matt and I) call USEM every monday or tuesday for updates since my interview. Last call was with Grace (who told me i should call the call center coz 301-2000 are for petitioners). I bit my tongue and begged (im not the begging type but ermm) for her to give me info. She took pity, asked for my case number, placed me on hold and she came back after a few minutes, verified that i am who i claim to be... then she told me that they just recently gotten my DV from NSO. But (theres always a but grrrr) they havent reviewed it yet and my case hasnt been updated. I was told to wait a couple of weeks (what?!).

HoneySkin, almost is not good enough wink.gif .... not nearly there... till i get that text from Delbros that its gonna be delivered. I cant smell my visa yet. I think false hope will kill me tongue.gif.

Its not when you paid DV apparently, its when they sent your DV to NSO *sigh sigh*. If you paid DV a month before your interview but they sent it to NSO a week before your interview, it will still be delayed. But how come there are people who paid their DV late and still they got their visa sooner?
