PhilippinesWaiting for my visa. Anyone interviewed Sept. 11 and still waiting?
I paid DV last Aug 28 and my docs was sent to NSO (according to delbros) last Sept 1. The embassy said we have to give them time to verify and process the documents. Its not like we havent waited long enough. Its not like we didnt pay for the process. *rolls my eyes*

PhilippinesWaiting for my visa. Anyone interviewed Sept. 11 and still waiting?
Yeah, ive been told to wait 4-6 weeks. They said thats the processing time of NSO to verify our documents. Isnt it odd though? Now that everything is automated, its a ton slower. *sigh*

PhilippinesWaiting for my visa. Anyone interviewed Sept. 11 and still waiting?
Hi. My interview was last Sept 12. The CO said everything is okay with my packet, they just have to verify the documents that i submitted. I was given a pink and white slip, then i was called to some window to give the metrobank deposit slip for delbros and then had me pay the visa delivery fee. I was told to just wait for my visa.

I was under the impression too that it will just take 1 week to get the visa so i started getting worried... im uber paranoid. And i read in here too that there are lots of people who got their visa in just one week *sigh*. So i called NSO, they wont give any info from here on, apparently they were told by the USEM not to give out any information. Just my luck! So i tried Delbros, texting... inquiring... coz the reply the ive been getting on their automated text tracking is "<case number> has not been released to delbros yet. Its still in process at the embassy." So then i kept trying (coz theres nothing else i can do)... asking about if my documents were sent to NSO and if so when? I got a reply from Delbros saying that they "sent my documents to NSO Sept 1 and NSO will release it to USEM as soon as its ready." But still im not satisfied, so asked someone from here and she told me to call the Embassy. So i did (after listening to a VERY LONG automated message hehe) and talked to this girl (Lorraine, she is uber nice). She asked for my case number. After a minute or so, she told me that my documents are still with NSO and they are waiting for them to release the results. They send documents to NSO every monday thru Delbros and pick up results of document verification themselves (not thru Delbros). Then the results are given back to the CO (who interviewed you) who will then approve and finalize it. Then they will release your visa (if everything is good).

Suffice to say, we can just wait. Im sure all is okay smile.gif.

PhilippinesIf the HK police clearance doesn't arrive in time
OR....

They'll keep her passport and she'll be given a white slip where it states she needs that police clearance from Hong Kong (considering she passed the interview). She'll be under Administrative Review till then.

Philippinestracking delbros ( i'm curious)
M@C: Thats very odd. Coz i think the delbros text hotline and the tracking from the website are using the same database. So if you get a respond from the text then that means you are in the system.

PM mo daw case number mo (if you allow), ill try it here.

Philippinestracking delbros ( i'm curious)
M@C: That happened mine and matt's computer.... it was just a blank page before. We had to update our browser... so it would appear. Anyway when you text delbros, does it give you a reply? Like "case number is in process at the embassy?" Coz its the same database...

Philippinestracking delbros ( i'm curious)
M@C: There is nothing wrong with your case number. You said you already typed in your case number (e.g MNL2008******01) with '01' after it and when you clicked on Go. Its just a blank page, right? Dont worry, theres nothing wrong with your case number. Its probably a setting in your browser (internet explorer, firefox, opera...etc) or a program/addon/plugin in your computer (firewall perhaps) thats blocking or preventing the page from loading.

Initially i suggest use another browser. Check if its updated... if its the latest version. If it doesnt work... you could uninstall it and restore it to default settings without plugins or addons. I noticed that it doesnt seem to work all the time in firefox... version 3.+ seemed to have issues.

Philippinesletter of intent
You mean the letter of intent to marry your fiance?

Im not sure about the exact requirements now coz they changed it somehow. But i dont think it needs to be notarized. In fact, our letter of intent is just an email.

PhilippinesQuestion on copu things on packet
Question 1: In the Philippines, middle names are not the second name. Its our mom's maiden name. (e.g. If her name is Lorraine Rhea Trinidad Rizal. First name: Lorraine Rhea / Middle name: Trinidad / Last name: Rizal)

But just to be sure, use whatever name that is in her birth certificate or passport (well those 2 has to be exact match).

Question 2: Send your fiance a copy of everything that you sent to USCIS. Copies are fine but i suggest make them colored copies.

Philippinesconfusing about approval!!!!!!!!!
Check out this link if you want to know more about k1 visa --> http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3204.html

"Generally, it takes 8 to 12 months from the date the petition is approved for the K-1 visa to be issued. If a field investigation is required and if the applicant does not satisfy all the application requirements, visa issuance may take longer. The presence of the U.S. citizen is not required during the fiancé(e)’s visa interview."

You can go here too to check out processing times. --> https://egov.uscis.g.../jsps/index.jsp

-----------

Our petition was approved 3 months after it was filed via Vermont Service Center. Just an insight. It is different per case.

Hell yeah! I would like to them to speak both Filipino and Bisaya. I dont care if they'll have accents, growing up with english and all.

PingLocalHostessFemalePhilippines2008-11-14 07:15:00
Philippinestiket
Nah, you dont need anything from your fiance. Most e-tickets, you can print the reservation/itinerary and receipt details online. And they'll send you or your fiance a copy of your itinerary or a link where you can print it. You can print those and that is what you'll show at the counter then they'll give you all the boarding passes. You are flying with which airline?

Your wife is not the only one waiting. Perhaps it might give you some insights. I had to wait 5 weeks after my interview before my visa was released. There are people that waited longer than i did.... some are still waiting.

PhilippinesSustained Income

At the interview they give white paper that ask for evidence of sustained income. Has anyone else here got that? What do you give them when they ask for that?

Usually, long term employment/business, proper filing of taxes is a good indicator and won't raise any questions. If that is lacking, what they want is proof that your job/income is steady and will continue to be in the future. Getting a regular job may be easier.

I'm a young 21 year old and just married.

Getting continous paychecks from VA Disability ($14000 a year TAX FREE)
Had ups and downs for good jobs and living around finding a job that works.
Consider that I have no college and little employment experience other than COP in the Air Force.

I'm not recently attending college full-time for Nursing. And get extra income for living expenses from the VA.
also the VA pays college 100%.

So i get around $18500 a year under this program.

Or with the GI Bill it would go to $22000

Does GI Bill and Living Expense Pension (under education program) count>?

Philippinesabout paying delbros.. how does it work? what documents do they verify?
This is just a suggestion. If you want your visa released the soonest possible time.

Do NOT wait for the letter from the embassy wherein it says you have to call to schedule an interview with a link which you oughta visit for the requirements. Once your petition is approved, your fiance will get 2 letters, a notice of approval and a letter from NVC which has the case number. You NEED that case number to schedule an interview and pay delbros verification fee. There will be 2-3 weeks before you will get a letter from the embassy. MAKE SURE to use that time to pay delbros verification fee. Then you can wait for the letter from the embassy to schedule an interview.

Heres the link with instructions on how and where to pay delbros for document verification: http://manila.usemba...ov/wwwfdelb.pdf

Philippineswhat's next after MNL case number
There, you just click on those links.

I suggest, since you have the case number. Pay your DV. Then go to the website, start piling the requirements. Cenomar now takes 2 weeks to get (at least in Davao City). After you did all of those, you can just wait for the letter from the embassy. Then you can schedule an interview. That will leave you with the medical and the interview to worry about wink.gif .

Nah... worrying about the whole thing doesnt help much. wink.gif

I suggest, get a good night's sleep first. Coz when you get there, you wont get to rest since you'd want to finish everything that same day. Relax.... and chill. You'll need all your patience coz you'll be falling in line a lot.

Ermmm during HIV testing, you get to watch while other applicants' blood were being taken hahaha. If you are scared of needles, good luck... hehehe smile.gif

PhilippinesVisa Interview Appointment
Hmmm... i believe its only 4 months. You can find the validity period on the notice of approval (which your fiance got). Its on the upper right side where it says "Notice Type: Approval Notice" and underneath that says "Valid from XX to XX".

Actually since now the embassy had given us an option to schedule our own interview, it is in our discretion to do so. But i suggest you do that within the validity period. So it wont be a waste. smile.gif
PingLocalHostessFemalePhilippines2008-09-23 23:48:00
PhilippinesVisa Interview Appointment
Once you have a case number, you have to call in to schedule an interview (theres a fee). It will be on the letter that you will get from the embassy and on the letter of approval that your fiance will receive.

Philippineshow to dial
It depends what phone line your fiance is using.... mostly you have to dial 011 before the phone number

+63-2-3012000

63 is country code
2 is area code

An automated message will tell you that you've reach the USEM. Press '0' & you'll be transferred to the operator. Ask for Lorraine or Grace - IV Dep't. The operator will transfer you. Most of the time its busy (it will say the person you're calling is using the line -- something within that context), just kept pressing '0' until someone answers.

Philippinesluggage question
NWA for coach, 2 checked luggage - 50lbs (free) but it shouldnt exceed 70 lbs or they wont allow it). You can have 2 carry ons too.

Im more worried about domestic here in Ph coz they charge a lot. I dont know how much at the moment coz they changed the fees last Sept 2.
PingLocalHostessFemalePhilippines2008-09-30 00:15:00
PhilippinesHow many luggage for petite filipina leaving PI???
For NWA international flights, they allow 2 checked luggage and 2 carry ons. Each luggage weighing more than 50 lbs will be charged $50 each but it shouldnt exceed 70 lbs).

For domestic flights in Ph, limit is 15 kilos :/.
PingLocalHostessFemalePhilippines2008-09-30 00:11:00
Philippinesexcess baggage..
For most airlines, you are allowed 2 checked luggage and 2 carry ons. You would be safe if each of your luggage is within the 50 (23 kilos) lbs to 70 lbs (31 kilos). Its free if you dont exceed 50 lbs. If its weighs 51 lbs to 70 lbs, they'll be charging you (depends which airlines).
PingLocalHostessFemalePhilippines2008-09-30 00:36:00
PhilippinesE-ticket and Travel Tax
In most airlines, it includes the travel tax. But i heard some had to pay the travel tax when they checked in. I suggest, ask your husband to call the travel agency or the airline just to be sure. Coz you dont wanna be paying the travel tax twice... if you get a noob on the counter wink.gif.
PingLocalHostessFemalePhilippines2008-09-30 02:56:00
PhilippinesPurchasing Tickets for My WIFE
I see no problem if you would pay with your debit card, its like paying cash (coz they cant charge it unless your DC has funds). Lots of people purchase tickets online now. In most cases, they will send you an itinerary in your email which you have to sign and print... an e-ticket. Thats what she needs to present to the check-in counter so they'll give her the actual ticket (boarding pass and all). Plus her passport with the visa (CFO stamped).

But still you have to check with your travel agency coz that depends on which airline.

PhilippinesDELAYED VISA AFTER APPROVAL???
QUOTE (Simon & Mitch @ Oct 1 2008, 12:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I have a question. My Fiance Michelle has been to the Manila Embassy on 4 occasions for her interview.

9/05 - First Interview, and she was told they needed time to review
9/12 - Second interview, asked to return on the 15th with more pictures
9/15 - She arrived for a 3rd interview but they only took the pics from her and asked her to return 9/30
9/30 - After enduring a 3rd interview they only told her to wait for a notice in the mail. She did not receive any form of documentation.

Does the Embassy always give a pink slip once you have completed the interview and your visa is approved? Since she did not receive a pink I am worried that maybe she has been denied. Are there ever any cases where the pink slip is sent in the mail?

Thanks

Hmmm indeed thats very odd. That only meant 2 things, either she went to the interview without all the requirements or the CO is taking time reviewing her case. But why (there has to a GOOD reason why)? They will tell you right on during the interview if there is something wrong with your case where they would ask further evidence and such.
