PhilippinesIs Form W-2 required for form I-134 as supporting doc?
To be on the safe side. I would just get them all.... better to have all if not more than the listed requirements than bring only what you assumed they'll require.

Oh well, thats what i did.

Really? Yeah it prolly depends on the consul. Ang weird nila no....? Inconsistent, depende lang sa CO.

PhilippinesIs Form W-2 required for form I-134 as supporting doc?
On your interview day, The pre-screener will ask you the Affidavit of Support and its supporting documents... which are latest Income Tax Return, W2 or letter from his current employer stating his position and monthly salary or a payslip and bank statements/records (cash/stocks/bonds). They'll be looking in at your fiance's capability to FINANCIALLY SUPPORT YOU in the US. If unemployed, his bank records/statements should compensate for it.

PhilippinesWhat is next after receiving hard copy of NOA2?
After receiving NOA2. NVC will send a letter to the USC informing him that the case is fowarded to US embassy in Manila. Then the US embassy in manila will send a letter to the fiance/e in PH informing him/her that he/she is eligible to be interviewed. On that letter from the US embassy in manila, it states what number to call to schedule an interview. I suggest before that letter comes, the fiance/e should start gathering the requirements needed for the interview.

Just one of each from NSO. They will not return the originals though. Make sure the CENOMAR is the most recent.

I get confused when i read that it needs 4 original copies of BC & CENOMAR, the post is dated 2007 though.
So I will just follow your instruction. Thanks for your reply.

smile.gif
For your interview, you are required to submit one BC and one CENOMAR. Both should be original copies from NSO. I think when people said you can ask 2-3-4 copies of BC from NSO is that you can keep the rest of the copies in case you need it in the future.

PhilippinesBeneficiary's Letter of Intent to Mary?
Nah, i dont think NVC will ask for the letter. Just make sure you bring with you your letter of intent to marry the petitioner for the interview. Of course, along with the other requirements. smile.gif

The letter of intent we submitted to USCIS isnt even a formal letter. Its an email. He just sent me an email indicating his intent to marry me and i replied with my intent to marry him.
PingLocalHostessFemalePhilippines2009-01-12 10:41:00
PhilippinesBeneficiary's Letter of Intent to Mary?
When you filed for I-129F, you both submitted letters of intent to marry. Give your fiance a copy of everything you submitted to USCIS, that includes those letters of intent. smile.gif
PingLocalHostessFemalePhilippines2009-01-12 04:22:00
Philippineswhile waiting for noa2
1-4, 6-7. If your fiance is 125% above the poverty line, theres no need of a co-sponsor. You would need supporting documents like Form 1040 / ITR, W2, employment certificates , pay stubs and current bank statements (just in case!). Heres the link if your fiance meets the requirements: http://www.uscis.gov.../dat/I_864P.pdf .

If theres a need to have a co-sponsor, the same documents will asked from the co-sponsor.

5. When the USC filed the petition, he/she submitted letters of intent to marry from both of you, THAT will suffice. The USC should give the fiance a copy of every document he submitted to USCIS (i suggest!).

For the BENEFICIARY to read:

http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3219.html
http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3238.html
http://manila.usemba...ov/wwwfk1en.pdf (Requirements as of November 2008 - constantly check this link as they might add a few things this year)

1. You are only required to submit one BC from NSO. But you can request for more copies as you might need it in the future -- it doesnt expire.

2. You are required to submit the most recent CENOMAR. (A month back is fine)

3. You can get a local Police Clearance (for travel abroad), just to be sure. (its only P200+) This expires after 6 months.

4. NBI clearance should be for "travel abroad". This expires after a year.

5. Whatever he submitted for the petition is fine.

Good luck! smile.gif

Hmmm...as I have said the majority of women in the Philippines are working and they are still Filipinos, not Americans. I think the only difference is while Filipinas work, family remains their priority. And while financially independent, they still recognize and respect the ascendancy of their husband over them. Not that I am saying that American women do not have the same set of priorities. I think it is simply because how Filipinas are raised, i.e., when they marry, they are giving away a part of their identity as a SHE and let the US takes precedence over the ME.

Hi nickoftime smile.gif. Its been awhile... smile.gif.

Somehow i do understand your dilemma. Ive been called "the island girl" a lot of times its not even funny. And they think going to Walmart is the best thing that ever happened to me (Lol Oh my god! *snickers*). Probably coz they dont realized i came from a civilized country or maybe they just dont know me at all. My husband is overly protective and gets agitated sometimes but i told him to give it up coz it doesnt matter and they dont know any better..... it does give me a good laugh hahaha.

I do agree except for "they still recognize and respect the ascendancy of their husband over them". I say, husband and wife should have the same amount of influence and dependence on each other. They should complement each other. Not one over the other. smile.gif

(Just my opinion.)

i see...how much is that unlimited plan of vonage...is it the 24.99 per month? so i just have to get one vonage here, do all the software stuff here in the united states and send it to the philippines?

my husband and i chat but its so hard to stay on the computer all the time using headphones and talking so loud in order for us to hear each other...

and with vonage i can call him too anytime right?

You visit the website for the exact rate. http://www.vonage.com/ The unlimited plan is $24.99.

You can subscribe to vonage. Request an area code the same as yours so it'll be a US number. They'll configure it for you. Test it when you get it... then send it to PH. Yes, you can call the vonage line anytime and the vonage line can call you anytime too as long as the dont shut off the modem where the voice gateway is connected to. On the vonage line, it'll be unlimited (if you get the unlimited plan) calls to US numbers. It can make international calls but with minimal charges.

(I feel like im endorsing this one Lol!)

how does it work? is it like magic jack where you buy two phones and we have to use internet connection in order to get unlimited calls...i also want to buy one for the philippines...

No its not like majic jack. You have to install a software in your computer so majic jack will work. You dont have to install a software in your computer for vonage.

You plug in majic jack to the computer thru usb port. The vonage voice gateway will be plugged directly to the modem (like a router) and the computer is plugged into the vonage voice gateway using ethernet ports.

The trick with vonage is make sure the voice gateway that you requested from them has the same area code as your US number. So it will be like landline to landline. The distance doesnt matter coz its thru your internet connection. You dont have to get two vonage voice gateways coz any US number, mobile or land line, can call the vonage line and the vonage line can call any US number, landline or mobile. If you subscribe to the unlimited plan then the vonage line can call any number in the US unlimited...24/7.

If you arent in the US then you can get 2 vonage voice gateways with US numbers and they both can call each other. All you need is dsl/cable internet connections.

Tnx for the info coz im planning to subscribe to Vonage b4 we're going to PI..btw,once you subscribe/order (vonage) how many days it will arrive?and then how much?tnx in advance!

You can subscribe to the $24.99 plan, one month free. Its has unlimited calls to any US number. You will get the voice gateway within 3-5 business days. You can visit this website: http://www.vonage.com/

I dont know how much they are charging for installation and for the voice gateway right now. You can call their toll free number. smile.gif

PhilippinesPLDT DSL and Vonage
I used Vonage when i was in the Philippines. It had a US TX number. It works. Its plug and play. You dont have to install anything on your computer (unlike MaJic Jack). You can call any US number for free and unlimited 24/7.

Once you subscribe to Vonage, they will send you a voice gateway (its like a router except it transmit digitized voice as a form of data). That voice gateway's mac address should be registered to Vonage with a preset-up US area code. So DONT buy your own voice gateway, let vonage send you one so you dont have to worry about compatibility or firmware issues. When you receive it, test it first. So you know it works before you send it off. I dont know if they still send Motorolla VT2142.

Shut down everything. So you just need to plug in the modem's ethernet port (usually yellow) to the voice gateway's internet port (usually blue). Then you plug in the computer to the ethernet port of the voice gateway (usually yellow). If you have a router, plug in the router's ethernet port (usually yellow) to the internet port (usually blue) of the voice gateway. Then plug in a regular (RJ11) phone to phone port 1. Restart with the modem first, then the voice gateway and the computer last. If you look at the lights, the power light should stop blinking, both ethernet and internet light should be lit then phone 1 should be lit. Check the phone if it has a dial tone. If it does then it works.

Tips: Its good that you chose PLDT dsl. Dont pick the measly packages. I suggest subscribe to anything not lower than 1 mbps. Why? Coz if someone uses the computer like play an online game or downloads movies or music... the line will be choppy if the speed is low. But mind you, it still works even without a computer plugged into it.

When you send it, use a private courier like fed-ex. Its fragile. And declare it as a gift or else she'll be paying major taxes (like i did).

I hope that helped you a bit. smile.gif

PhilippinesLetter from USEM..
Hi. Welcome to VJ!

You are K1, right?

That letter from the US Embassy simply states that they received your case from NVC and that you are legible to be interviewed.

You can call the US Embassy to schedule an interview. You or your fiance can call. Make sure theres a 1 or 2 weeks interval between your medical exam at St. Lukes Medical Extension Clinic and your interview date. Click on this link to view the steps --> http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3238.html

At the same time you need to gather these documents. Click on this link to view the requirements --> http://manila.usemba...ov/wwwfk1en.pdf . Be sure you secure all of these before you finalize your interview date. On page 5 of that document, you will see intructions pertaining to the medical exam.

QUOTE (Mykuls Merry Ann @ Jan 30 2009, 09:44 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
They are losing money, and that is all they are worried about. They are not really trying to protect anyone here. I was talking with my Ann and she called CFO and told there is a fee for the sticker (P400), and a fee for the certificate (P400), and a fee for the seminar (P250). I could not understand why they have to have a certificate and a sticker here...but its not much so....

But it seems the Philippines government needs to make as much money as they can on those fiancee that are leaving the country. The fraudulent stickers and certificates must be really hurting them now. They can easily detect this if they needed to.

You only have to pay P250 at the seminar where they will give you the certificate after and P400 for the CFO sticker.

The CFO seminar and guidance counseling is our government's attempt to help Filipino citizens (not just fiance/es) who leave the country and keep tabs of them. I went thru it and i find it very informative. They tell you what to do in the airport... what fees you'll be paying.... what to do and where to go to if you run into trouble in a foreign country. It is not extortion. Some may find it ridiculous but your fiance/es CANT leave the country without it.

Heck! If you can afford to pay all the visa fees........... its only P650.

People counterfeiting documents is all over the world.... not just in third world countries.
