Im sorry for what happened.

They can actually hold your certificate if they think you are not of sound mind to travel. k1 Visa or not, you cant fly to US without the certificate.

PhilippinesPassed medical but might have ruined my interview results :(
You didnt adopt the baby? You just registered her as yours? I know your intentions are noble BUT in a legal sense, she is NOT yours. And you know the birth mother too... that would even complicate things. If you are to bring an underage child out of the country, it would require parental consent... consent from her REAL mother or father. Or consent from a "guardian," but you arent her legal guardian coz the court didnt appoint you as such. You have legal issues, you have to deal with that first. Consult a lawyer on how you can expedite the process.

Im not 100% sure on this but i strongly suggest on your interview, bring a letter from your fiance that states HE KNOWS everything. Only to prove that he is WELL AWARE of the situation.

AND lying (not saying you did) or withholding information to USEM is NOT a good idea. Im pretty sure in the future, you dont wanna be wondering what might have been.

No, PAL will not reconsider. You will be paying the heavy baggage fee coz you go beyond the 20-kilo-limit for domestic flights.

Philippinesyey!!!!my fiance got the notice from the nvc today...then what's next????
Hi shaqkeys. smile.gif

First things first, could you be more specific first please. Did you mean .... your fiance got a notice which says that his/her petition was approved?

If so, then all you need to do is wait for the letter from US Embassy in Manila which will tell you what you need to do and where you can call to schedule an appointment. For the time being, you can visit these links:

PhilippinesEmails as Proofs of -on Going Rel...
Yup, thats true... print screens of video chats with your fiance or husband/wife is a good proof.

You have to put into consideration as well the dates and time of the emails, letters, chatlogs and pictures that you bring with you. So make sure when you print the emails, print it from the webpage coz that proves that you didnt edit the page as the link appears on the upper right hand corner. Dont copy paste it to MSWord... coz then they might think you edited it (as the embassy is always paranoid). Most people do that to save spaces and bond paper. Its entirely up to YOU. But if it were up to me, id eliminate the initial doubts. smile.gif

You dont have to ask your fiance for the emails you sent him if your log on sent items is enabled in your email account (which it is by default in most common emails like yahoo, msn, hotmail....). Look for Sent Items (or anything similar to that) on the menu.

And of course they would know who is the sender, the receiver and when it was sent. Its on the details. smile.gif

In most emails, when you click on reply button.... the previous message will automatically be in the text boxt like a recap, right? Im sure you noticed.... if you dont delete that when you reply then the emails you send to each other will kinda like look like a thread... one message after the other.

One tip: Emails are traceable so it IS good proof.

(Just my opinion.) smile.gif

FedEx works best for me. And you can track it. The package never leaves FedEx' hands - from sender to destination.

PhilippinesMANILA CASE NUM RECIEVED!!!!!
USEM will not be sending you Packet 3 if you are K1. But they will send you a letter which states you are eligible to be interviewed and on there are instructions on where to call. If January is full then ask for the next available interview schedule.

This is Packet 3. Printable from their website. --> http://manila.usemba...ov/wwwfk1en.pdf

Philippinesbest way to organize your document......
I have some problem on how to organize my documents for my incoming interview.. Is there anyone here who can give me tips on how?

On your interview, you will be interviewed by 2 persons. The pre-screener and the Consulate Officer. They will be asking for the requirements. Between you and the interviewer is a glass window. You need to slide in your documents thru a drop-down portion below the glass like in some banks. So your bound documents has to be soft enough to be bent. So no hardbound... if thats what you are thinking of doing with the emails. For the pictures, you can glue it in bond paper and put captions with dates on it. Dont use hardbound albums... unless you wanna rip the clear sheets off when they ask for the pictures coz you cant slide the whole thing through. Arrange your documents in order as listed in http://manila.usemba...ov/wwwfk1en.pdf so you can easily find them. Put them in a big envelope and put post-its to mark them.

what is the process soon when they have their interview?

I dont understand what you are trying to ask.

I have also some concern on bank statement of my fiance where it shown there his account number, is it ok if I'm going to hide it?

You can erase the account number with a marker. Its his name and address on the bank statements that matter. Dont forget the affidavit of support and the supporting documents like ITR and W2.

when is the best time I am going to pay the visa fee?

Any day before your interview day.

what's the best vitamins and lotion for my skin?

Depend on whats "hiyang" to you. Im sorry i cant be more helpful with this.

Philippinesfinally my petition got approve!!!!!
Since your petition had been approved, your fiance will get a letter from NVC stating the approval and that they are forwarding it to the US embassy in Manila. On there is the case number. Then the embassy will send you a letter stating that you can call in to schedule an interview.

Most people dont wait for the letter from the US embassy. They just call in a week or 2 after the letter of approval from NVC is received as the case number is there.

For the time being... you can visit the links below. You can find there relevant information about the whole process.

PhilippinesBar girl and K1
I just want to point out a couple of things.

1.) It is NOT true that most K1 applicants from the Philippines are "bar girls" (whatever that means... someone that works in a bar???).

2.) Cebu is NOT a hotspot with lots of "bar girls". Thats just stereotyping.

JoseRizal: You are right, i failed to notice that. smile.gif She is however worried about "being denied" IF she has HIV.

soontobewife: Denial of visa and the possibility of having HIV should both be considered. But the latter is more grave than the former.

Thats right. If infected, counseling is a must. The proper medical authorities can direct you to the center where you can seek help.

I still have doubts about the home test. If you do a home test and it says positive... im sure you want a proper test in a trusted hospital for confirmation. Might as well do the latter, saves time, money and unfounded worry.

First, I want to say thank you to all those who responded. Well, i don't know yet if i am positive or negative. But I am sure I am negative. I just want to be sure also before doing the medical test. I know this is a sensitive issue. But as we all know HIV is widely spread in the Philippines now so when I saw it on the tv last week I got curious and wanted to be tested now so my anxiety will be alleviated rather than being so nervous at the SLEC while they are extracting my blood. Coz as we all know it's part of the test. Maybe you haven't seen any threads like mine here but I just want to know also if someone had a pre-screen test which is what I am planning to do now.

Dont be paranoid smile.gif. Its normal to be nervous. You can go get tested in a hospital actually to ease your mind.

According to the link:

Who qualifies to apply for a waiver to the HIV ground of inadmissibility?

To qualify to apply for an HIV waiver, an applicant must be:

* The spouse of a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; or
* The unmarried son or daughter of a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; or
* The minor, unmarried lawfully adopted child of a U.S. citizen; or
* The parent of a son or daughter who is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; or
* Eligible to self-petition under the Violence against Women Act (i.e. the abused spouse of a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident); or
* A Refugee or Asylee who falls under a “humanitarian” exception to the HIV bar

I plan to come to the U.S. as the fiancé or fiancee of a U.S. citizen. How can I get an HIV waiver if I won’t have a qualifying relative until I get to the U.S. and marry?

The consulate has the authority to grant conditional approval of an HIV waiver if all of the requirements other than the qualifying relative are met and you can establish that you would be eligible once you marry the U.S. citizen petitioner.

Only those with qualifying relative. Its still up to the consulate for K1 aaplicants.

If indeed there was a such case, the fact remains the same - you still have HIV and it is incurable and you have to deal with it - K1 or no K1.

True but can they still pursue K1 or not?
