jamesnrei: They said 2 days turnover after the day they receive it. I mailed mine just as regular post.... not as priority... so it'll take 2-3 days before they'll receive it. So i mailed it Jan. 16 and i got it Jan 23. They sent me a receipt, my copy of I-693 and an envelop that says "Dont open, for immigration purposes."

As for my checklist hehe... its this link: http://www.uscis.gov.../i-485instr.pdf and http://www.visajourn...mp;page=k1k3aos . I had these printed out.

I was confused with affidavit of support at first but i figured it out already..... was pretty silly of me. Matt has no work right now coz his company closed so he just have his small business. He is above poverty line but I dont know if we need a co-sponsor. They said in here that its better to have a co-sponsor to be on the safe side.

A copy of the marraige certificate is fine. smile.gif (In the instructions: page 4, 15.b )

stephnria: You need to go to a CS to get an I-693. Hmmmm i think segregate which is for you and your son. Just indicate it in the cover letter and send it in one packet? Id like to hear it from someone thats done with with AOS.

bevs: Hiya. Its not that i didnt want the vaccine. Im done with all my needed vaccines during my medical in St. Lukes. I talked with the Dr. Arnold's assistant. She said i dont need the T-dap second dose yet... its too soon. That was the vaccine that St. Lukes told me to have done in the US. But I had the first dose of T-dap in St. Lukes. And they said i already received all the vaccines needed thats suitable for my age. So hopefully i wont get an RFE. I almost got everything i need. Im just waiting for my hubby's final Form 1040 and W2. Ill be filing my AOS and EAD pretty soon. smile.gif Yeah... i hope this will all be over soon hahaha.

I was having issues with my SSN but finally we got it processed and its on its way... give or take 1-2 weeks. So now i can work on that vaccination supplement thing. I called the clinic yesterday and they called back in the afternoon *whew*. I informed her i already had my medical examination done in PH but i dont have a copy of it and i was just given a vaccination worksheet. So the girl gave me instructions on what to send them. She didnt mention anything about skin test or blood tests or new vaccines so *shrugs* i didnt ask. Have you applied for SSN? As for Lorraine, have you talked to her last new year? She has kwento (tsismis na naman hehe). We can post /share our ideas in here regarding AOS and it'll be a marathon again on who gets it first hahaha.

And yeyyyy finally i was able to apply for SSN *whew!* and they processed it. It says im a legal alien allowed to work (hehe) but i wont be working till i get my EAD wink.gif (of course!). Im still learning how to drive... i still get confused with the roads. You cant just turn left or right if you want to... you have to look for the exits and turnarounds *sigh*.

jamesnrei: I know... the weather fluctuates like crazy :/. I now have a habit of checking the temperature before i go out. Yup, i think thats the civil surgeon lorraine was talking about. After i talked with the immigration officer in Detroit, he stapled my I-94 in my passport and marked my visa. So its weird why they didnt give you your I-94. You need it coz its one of the requirements when you file AOS (i think). But im not sure if we need vaccination supplement. Lorraine said we dont need the 2nd dose yet... not this soon the doctor in here said.

Hi all! Im back. smile.gif

I was my birthday last Jan 4 smile.gif. T'was my first time spending it away from my family. Homesick like hell but adjusting well.

bevs, I saw the pictures in friendster. Nice dress wink.gif. Anyway, skin test? Hmmm im not aware of that. I went to the local center here to get my vaccine like they told me to in St. Lukes that i need to get mine done when i come over. But when i got there, they said i dont need to coz they already gave me that according to my sheet and truth be told... there is a date there that it was administered to me. Its only $60 but they said they dont have to give it to me this soon if i needed a 2nd dose of Tdap. Its nice that they dont wanna rip me off hehe. Anyway, i was gonna go to a local civil surgeon to see if i can get a vaccination supplement or I-693A. I dont need to have another medical as i already had it done in the philippines. But i talked with lorraine and she found a civil surgeon in Austin that wont rip people off and wont ask you to redo the medical exam. I havent heard from her since but i communicate with her thru friendster every now and then. So im kinda waiting for updates on that. For now im gathering my stuff for the AOS.

Been out of town and busy like hell. But i havent dealt with the legalities just yet.. been lazy. We got married last Dec 18. I will probably start the paperwork next month again. Oh its colder than that. In the morning, its around 15c which is bearable. But at nights, its 2-7C.... plus windchill..... brrrrrrrrrrr. Im getting used to it now. smile.gif

Hi there James! I flew with NWA last October. Matt purchased it online in their US website. The tax that was mentioned on the ticket receipt is the sales tax... not the travel tax in the airport. Dont worry, whatever the case may be, they'll be pulling up her record when she checks in the NWA counter. They'll inform her if she needs to pay travel tax and she dont have to fall in line again to get the boarding passes. Its P1620 for non-immigrants or P1750 (i think) for immigrants.

Hmmm we used to follow up by calling IV dept... they just pull up our case using our case numbers... was told they need to look at our record in their database (thru their computer).
