Hi guys, we're leaving in 3 weeks from now and I wonder if anyone of you who have experienced Detroit as POE? Please share your experience, long queue? strict immigration officer? How long did it take for them to check on your paperworks? Im a bit worried as we only have 1 hour and 40 mins ground time for plane change and we might miss our flight. Thanks!!

PhilippinesInterview Sept. 10
QUOTE (jasman0717 @ Sep 18 2007, 12:07 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
There can be several things causing the dely including the workload of the interviewing officer. You could call the embassy to see what is happening. The lady at ext. 5184 was just wonderful to deal with for us. Where is your fiancee located? Claudeth is from Cagayan on Mindanao so it took an extra day to get the visa down there. Good luck good.gif

I got our visa today, interview was last Sept. 11, where does ur fiancee lives? Have you checked delbros tracking site? Sometimes it is not working but keep on trying, last fri/sat i saw ours (k1/k2) already in distribution center and as expected, i got it today. Site will also tell you if embassy have released the visa to the courier. or Call USEM if you cant get info from the site

You should be ok as far as the embassy goes. I would be more concerned with delivering the visa and don't remember if Claudeth gave DELBROS a delivery address. Do you think the address you gave is deliverable?

hi jasman0717..

...first of all, thank you for the fast reply - i really appreciate it! good.gif .. that's the problem it's not deliverable the one i put in G-325A form.. with this situation ..can my fiance just write a letter of visa pick-up and give it to the CO especially im staying with him in the condo while we're waiting for the visa -- no one will receive my visa at home..

thanks!

visa delivery depends on what address you provide to delbros, can be on different add as what you have in your G-325A or I129F, doesnt matter, just give them the add where u want it to be delivered at. Oh, dont worry much about incomplete add info, my fiance wrote my add incomplete on both 129f and G325A.. Goodluck to you!!

for her to wait for the USE to contact her, and it did not ask for any other evidance or info just to wait. ? ? ? ? ? ?

Does anyone have any idea what this means ? Or how long this will take ? Is this AR ?

If she made to pay Delbros, that means she will get a visa soon. The visa will be delivered 4 working days to 2 weeks from the interview date.

skyblue06 is right, even people who put into AR jail still pay delbros but in the letter that was returned to you by USEM after interview, if it states there to wait till you hear from them... could be you are in AR

hello guys.........im just new here in VJ we are planning to get married here in Phil hopefuly we can make it next month. have some question to ask pls help........thanks in advance

1. wedding cost(minimum- max) if we choose church wedding?
2.is one month planning is enough or not?
3. if we have 1 month to prepare should we go to Civil wedding?
4.Btw my bf is from USA what are the documents should he bring?

cost varies, depends on how many guest you will have, where you're gonna have it? a nice church wedding usually takes longer than 1 mo of planning, depends on what you want and how you want it to be, my brother planned his wedding for like 6 mos or so.. unless you wanna cram on things, coz you have lots of stuff to consider, will you buy a ready made wedding dress? how about your entourage's dresses? and the reception too.. you have to go into details if you want it to go nice and smooth or hire a wedding coordinator..

That's want public forums should be all about. Getting perspectives from all views: positive, negative, and indifferent.

Just pointing out that there is no logic in participating in a thread about a subject you could "care less about" wink.gif

Indifferent - 1: marked by impartiality : unbiased
2 a: that does not matter one way or the other b: of no importance or value one way or the other

I believe Caro is correct and the poster reinforces it by claiming indifference as his rationale. Looking at the definitions of indifferent, I see no need for one who is "indifferent" to comment.

as far as i know, the BF/father is a US CITIZEN when the child was born for them to register their son for US citizenship.. but if not, they cant.. still need to file a petition for the son too. you can check on http://philippines.u...v/wwwha003.html it says:

In order for a child to be documented as a U.S. citizen, the U.S. citizen parent(s) must:

1. meet the residence requirements in the U.S. to transmit citizenship (the requirements depend on the date of the child's birth and the legal relationship between the parents at the time of birth),
2. establish a legitimate, legal and biological relationship with their child and
3. have been a US citizen at the time of the child's birth.

If I bring her to the USA, where I live and work, she won't qualify for status in Canada or the USA (I don't think, as I am not a citizen of the USA)....
Should we get married in the Philippines? and apply to have her come ...where? Canada? where i am not.. or the USA? where I work and live but am not a citizen...??

Any advice?

if you are an LPR, you can bring your fiancee to the US by marrying her in the Philippines and file a petition for spousal visa (1-130 Petition for Alien Relative) but as far as i know, it takes like 5 years or so for LPR spousal visa unlike if you are a US citizen, it only takes like more or less a year..

you do not need affidavit of discrepancy if you are going to travel with your son. here is the link for the guidelines of minors travelling abroad:

The OP is not going to travel w/ her son....they are pursuing a "follow to join" scenario. I don't know where you would get such an affidavit...but perhaps the US embassy in the Phillipines may be able to help you.

yes she MUST bring the baby to the interview, she'll be on priority as she has a baby and she can bring a companion/yaya with her to take care of the baby inside the embassy. The CO will look on the baby and make sure she/he is the one in the picture.. dont worry, its not too bad/hard as there is a play area inside the USEM that her baby can play if bored. Just a piece of advised, the companion should bring id and dont ever ever bring a cellphone. biggrin.gif

Ok, I had a long talk with jennifer and got the whole truth out of her on what St. lukes asked and what she said. When asking all the questions they asked if she had ever done any drugs and she said yes. They asked her when she did them and how many times. She told them that she had done shabu sometime in 2001 and only 1 time in 2001. She then told them she did it also 1 time in the spring of 2006 when she was going thu a rough time and a friend said try this it will help you. She then I guess had at sometime during medical had to talk to a shrink and he asked agout the drugs and she told him the same thing. Then at embassy teh examiner ask and she told her the same story. So where we stand here looks like we are screwed. I cant beleive because she used a drug 2 times in her life she was denied. All her bloodwork passed. I have spoke to a immagration lawyer and he said there isnt much he can do but will loook into it, of course that cost me 250 bucks. So eiher way I am going to wait and reapply and have some questions about that, I cant for 2 years and she cant have done any drugs in 3 years correct? hi.. even if your child's xray turn out normal, they will still require her to undergo medication (6-9 mos. isoniazid) as they are so aggressive in treating TB here in the US, taking medication doesnt mean she has a TB.. dont worry it doesnt give out side effects on her whether she has or doesnt have a tb.. its just a preventive measurement as they have a rare case of TB here in the US.

PhilippinesUS Embassy warns of possible kidnappings
My trip was in mid-May to the first week of June in 2006. Most of my time was spent in the Greater Manila area and some rural areas of the Zambales province. Didn't experience any problems in either place.

In the rural barrio, my stepmother has an enormous family (1 of 11 siblings) so there were always plenty of people around (my fiance is the niece of my stepmother). They just made sure that I never walked alone even during the daytime. Usually, if I needed something from house to house in the barrio, I would just hand one of my young step-cousins a few pesos to get things for me or if I needed an escort, there were always plenty of girls (my fiance's cousins) or young step-cousins that would go with me.

In the Greater Manila area, I was always with a few of my step-uncles everywhere we went as well as my step-aunt from the U.S.

All-in-all, just be smart and always try to have somebody, or preferably, a group with you. You can look up information regarding current safety issues even in the rural areas on the U.S. Embassy's website as well as the U.S. State Department at http://travel.state.gov

There's things such as militia that usually just want a fee, better to hand cash than yourself! Have fun, be smart, the Philippines is a great vacation!

There are a couple of filers from abroad on this thread (Ivy has been maintaining an overview) but most of us are in the US.

Oh I better pick it up and make a new list :D I will, later today!

Anyways, regarding my husband's nonchalant filing, I decided I would not do anything. I'll even stop being upset about it.

I told him it's a problem, I told him what potential ways of correcting it he has. Unless he asks for my help, I won't do anything more or mention it again. If it slows us down, okay. If they reject the petition for it, he will have to come life with me. Hmm... maybe that would be even better. :D
