PhilippinesAny 1 get interview date from Manila in last 3 wks?
^^We are still waiting for our interview date, our papers arrived in Manila like 2 weeks ago... I noticed something strange, IV schedule site is down, so maybe they are trying to update the system and hopefully when it gets back up we'll get our dates, but u said in your other thread that they (Manila Embassy) has backlog...... so maybe thats what its causing the delay.. sit back, relax and hopefully we don't have to wait longer...... the wait is really stressful

Philippinesearly medical exam

Hi! You don't have to call SLEC for an early medical, you can go directly to SLEC and just bring your Appointment letter (and a photocopy), $95 (in peso equivalent depending on the current exchange rate) and ID pictures.

For the Appointment schedule: http://203.177.135.1...tment/login.asp

If you still don't have the appointment packet, you can call SLEC for a packet pick-up or just bring the NOA2 or a print copy of the appointment sched from the USEM site. Good Luck!

where will i get the appointment letter? we just got approved last july 9. what number for the SLEC? thank you!

hi, do you mean approved from USCIS? then you will have to wait for them to send the application to NVC and NVC will provide you with case number, it can be for 3 weeks more or less and then NVC will forward the case to US Embassy Manila and they will provide you with interview/medical appointment date and will send you your appointment letter too.

yap i just got approved from USCIS. hehe cant wait to have my med/Interview. thanks for the info. ill tyr to call NVC. should i call NVC or DOS? for the update of my papers?

you can call NVC, they will provide you with your case number once they have rec. it and worked on it (providing case number)... once you rec. case number you can check out http://203.177.135.1...tment/login.asp for interview dates or you can call DOS but give them a week or two coz they will still need to forward the case to US embassy manila that will provide you with your appointment dates

PhilippinesINTERVIEW UPDATE!

I just hung up the phone with the U.S. Embassy in Manila. Aubrey is scheduled for her interview on Sept. 11th at 7:30am!! A very nice girl named Lorraine answered the phone. She said several interviews were issued Friday. They are processing the paperwork to send out this week. Well, I'm going to start looking for tickets!! Good luck to everyone.

Thanks,

Jim & Aubrey

We were able to get our interview sched same as Aubrey, Sep. 11 at 730am...

PhilippinesWife is in the interview right now

She submitted the wrong NBI clearance (hers was local), but they said they'll deliver her visa nd passport in the next couple days. But she also has to go back and submit another NBI clearance. I don't quite get that part, but that's what they said.

local NBI? i was thinking you mean Police Clearance which is local coz the NBI is nationwide... no need to submit Police clearance unless if you went abroad for more than 6 months. then you'll get a police clearance from that country... anyways i think she'll be fine nontheless... congrats!

there's two types of NBI... for Employment and for Travel Abroad, so i guess he is saying his wife submitted Employment purpose type of NBI... its easy to get anyway, just bring it and renew and tell them you need the Travel Abroad, there's NBI kiosk at mall so its not really hard and wont take long.. Goodluck keep us posted

PhilippinesSending Money Home
like everyone said, $700 is a lot of money for 3 people, not unless you are paying everything from apartment rent to utilities and food and every thing else they need.. Imagine someone bringing home a minimum wage of like PHP300+/daily for a family of 5 or more, they can do with it... There are lots of job available in the market right now, esp in the call center industry and it has a decent pay. I think you have to set limitations and talk to your fiance about it if u think its too much, like not sending them what they ask for but send them what u think is ok to help out the expenses... tendency is they will rely on you and become dependent on the money you send them and might even expect for more... well, if you have all the means and it doesnt hurt your pocket then go ahead but its a life time commitment...

edit.. 300 PHP

We've got the same interview date, but Lynlee's Medical is Aug 30.

Does anyone else have Kids coming too? If I'm reading The sheriff's Walkthrough correctly He would get his medical on the same date right?

Good luck to everyone!!

Thanks jj1028!

Hope you'll be able to hear some good news soon too!
Here's the number for Department of State:(202) 663-1225, press 1, press 0, press 0
I got this from Sheriff Uling's signature.
Just a reminder, the office is open monday through friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. So, you need to call them between those hours in order to talk to someone live -- I don't think they have any automated features to check case status. Anyways, thanks so much and good luck to us all! Take care.

Thanks everyone for all your well wishes! Best wishes to everyone applying for their SO!

congrats!! we are also waiting for our dates, what is the best time to call DOS, are they open 24/7? just cant wait to have our dates. are they open on weekends too? thanks!!

I thought the Manila embassy gave out the appointments and packets. Why call an USA office? I dont get it?

4.4 The Department of State (DOS) number is within my signature. After the petition is approved (NOA2), the USC and/or beneficiary have the option of calling the DOS instead of the Manila Embassy to inquire when the electronic and/or hard copy case files have been sent out and received by the USE that we sent by the NVC. In addition the USC and/or beneficiary may call the DOS instead of the Manila Embassy to inquire when and if the medical exam and visa appointment dates are scheduled, which is very helpful when the Visa Interview Appointments website (Section 4.5) is down. NOTE: DOS has no direct participation in the K1 process (only access to the computer system to view the status of cases).

as per Sheriff Uling's Manila Embasy K1 Visa Guide

yesterday i went to NBI kiosk in Makati Park Square and see if i'll be able to renew my nbi clearance w/ address change and i was able to, whew at least i wont be going to the Main clearance center in Carriedo, kiosk can make changes on the address and if name is mispelled, or birthdate is incorrect and birthplace you really have to go to the Main clearance center. :D

check out Sheriff Uling's guide..

4.6 St. Luke's Extension Clinic (SLEC) information is within my signature. The beneficiary and derivative(s) are required to have medical exam(s) and vaccination shots before a visa can be issued (per the US Immigration Laws) and should be taken before the visa interview.

The medical exam, adminstered by SLEC, is a two days process:

Day 1 is the medical exam whereas the beneficiary's passport will be taken and sent to the USE along with the medical exam results and;
Day 2 is the vaccination whereas the beneficiary will be given the x-ray film and the DS-3025 Vaccination Worksheet/Record at the conclusion.

Please review this instructional and layout information [CLICK HERE] (Thx Sillygirl), SLEC's Flowcharts for Day 1 and Day 2 of the Medical Exam [CLICK HERE] (Thx Rea), as well as the Manila Embassy Thread's recommendations on what to bring and sample questions asked [CLICK HERE]. Be advised, the beneficiary's medical exam will be scheduled one week before the visa interview by the USE. Per the Manila Embassy Thread, we recommend that the beneficiary take the medical exam anywhere from 2 weeks to a month before the interview to ensure the results are available for the Consular Officer and to prepare in the unfortunate event of unfavorable medical results. If the medical exam is taken anytime over a month before the visa interview, there is a risk that the results could be invalid, which means the beneficiary will have to take another medical exam before the visa can be approved. The beneficiary may re-schedule the medical exam appointment with SLEC after the medical exam and visa interview dates are assigned by calling SLEC. On the medical exam appointment date, please don't forget to bring the medical exam fee (payment accepted in pesos only), passport (SLEC will keep the passport and delivery it to the USE along with the medical exam results), appointment letter (if NOT received by the beneficary, then see SLEC NOTE below), three 2x2 passport photos (the required dimensions of all passport photos are stated on page 8 of Packet 4, which is referenced in Section 4.3). The beneficiary also needs to have the sponsors contact information (address, phone number, and ssn #) for the SLEC forms.

SLEC NOTE: If the Manila Embassy does NOT mail the beneficiary a copy of Packet 4 and the Appointment Letter, then call SLEC and request to pick them up at SLEC (it should be available after 2 - 3 business days from the date of the request for the Manila Embassy to delivery the package to SLEC). Before proceeding with the request to pick up Packet 4 and the Appointment Letter from SLEC, please validate whether the appointments have been set by either calling the USE (Section 4.3), calling DOS (Section 4.4), or checking the Visa Interview Appointments website (Section 4.5). Please take a copy of the NOA2, a copy of the NVC letter (which should have the beneficiary's Manila case number on it), and a print-out of the scheduled appointment dates from the Visa Interview Appointments website during the SLEC visit to pick up Packet 4 and the Appointment Letter.
