Thanks to both of you for sharing your experience. Rujby I hope you are able to get your expedite approved. Trav&Shell I hope you find out your interview date ASAP. Sadly, you'll be talking to them until your case leaves for the embassy/consulate! you'll still need to ask them regularly "so has my case left for the embassy yet? do you need anything else to complete my file?" How long did it take for them to make a decision? Thanks in advance. I found out by calling a couple times a day and asking the status of my expedite request. After about 9-10 days, I confirmed with three operators that it was approved. One day later, they sent us an official letter that Trav just received yesterday. When I log into up the payment portal I am still unable to pay the IV fee , it still says total amount: $0. I called NVC and the operator said it takes 10-15 days to resolve? Is this true. It seems like 10-15 days is their answer to everything. I don't know what to do at this point, I'm already behind schedule as I was invoiced for the iv bill last month. I didn't have the funds then. Now I am able to pay I can't pay it. Should I send the payment in by snail mail or would this further delay my case? I think they sit in corners, rocking back and forth and chanting "10-15 days...10-15 days"...I think it helps numb their minds! In any case, do not snail mail the payment. You will cause problems. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2012	Woohooo, thx that was perfect, I feel complete right now!...I'm a coffee barrel as well, so I understand what going on with Trav (good girl for buying him grinds). I really hope that you guys get an interview, it really a matter of time and a waiting game, they are not rushing even with an expedite in a sense of understanding our situation. I found out that the fact of getting an interview didn't mitigate my anxiety because, in essence, we are still a waiting game. Won't be relieved until she's here. Other than that, she got her medical done on Monday, 1% done-99% to go. LOL you're very welcome...glad you feel complete! Yeah, I buy him grinds because I was the one responsible for getting him hooked on Tim Horton's when he was here. Sort of feels right that I should keep him hooked up with the coffee, lol. We'll get an interview soon, the embassy is apparently reviewing our case as of yesterday (and I'd guess Monday too), so we'll see. No, they don't rush - and why should they feel they have to? It doesn't affect their lives any...sad but true. This whole process is one giant waiting game - there's always something to wait for, we're never done...but good for her getting the medical done! One more step closer! Your interview's in less than a month...that's exciting I am just counting some western union receivpt. i found 17 from July 2011 to April 2012 Wow, really? I feel much better now, I can have a peaceful sleep. Finally, yes I celebrate my small victory Oh Liam! Also... I thought it was my NOA2, but it doesn't say Notice of Action at the top, it just says Notice of Approval of Relative Immigrant Visa Petition. I have just received an email from nvc saying that my request is under review. Before receiving that email, I called nvc and talked to a supervisor that informed me that my wife can send the evidence tomorrow and they will again forward them to the embassy. My wife told me she will try to get as much as evidence as she can tomorrow and will get a detailed letter from the doctor. Oh right! Sorry, my mistake...anyway, that's a good thing that NVC is reviewing your request. And it's also good that a supervisor is telling you to get the evidence in and they will re-review. Well, you copied NVC right? So NVC also has the update you sent and should be reviewing it soon. I remember you mentioned before that NVC told you to contact the embassy, right? Now you've done that...you sent an email to the embassy, as NVC requested. And now the embassy is saying NVC must forward them the request. That letter does only say that the embassy doesn't have your file, so the embassy can't provide you a decision. They didn't mention your previous request, just the file, and that's OK. Because they said no the first time, they won't have your file yet. So you're still ok. Tomorrow, when your wife gets more information from the doctor - only send it to the senator and to NVC. I was feeling so nauseous. I know, I loved my pink hair I'm thinking of getting pink highlights done while I'm visiting Canada in June (since the salon I used to go to had color that lasted months, compared to the dye I got here in town that only lasted 2-3 weeks ). I would go for all-pink again, but that'd be costly at a salon. It's been so long since I've had one Exactly! Although, I think I got less sleep for the interview than for Christmas when I was a kid Yup, that's actually more important than getting there early. Someone could get in later, but if you don't grab the right seat downstairs, then they can get the prime spot in the elevator, thus getting the C1 stub. Trav will definitely help you out with the vicarious doughnut eating I may be too nervous to eat, but he can always pack away some randomly disgusting amount of food! and your pink hair was awesome - if you were interviewing in Winnipeg, your hair would have been nothing unusual for downtown Now...ok now it's time to map how to get the best elevator spot. back left - so that's based on how it is when you get in, right? You walk straight to the back, left corner? The night before my interview I woke up with a start as I had dreamt that my visa had been denied because they didn't believe I had a bona fide marriage. My dad drove fast on the highway and beat all morning traffic I was alone I think for 30-45 minutes, but I did not mind whatsoever. I wanted to be first! And the lack of sleep was well worth it By the way, there's a Tim Hortons literally one block away from the consulate! That's where my daddy stayed while I was at the consulate He likes his coffee too And yeah, leave your cellphones and all other electronic devices at the hotel room. It won't be allowed inside. Just have your file folder and Trav It's not hard to be early for something with Trav...all we'd do is probably snuggle and laugh. He's fun Yeah for Tim Horton's a block away - this trip just gets better and better! File folder, Trav, and hotel key LOL...but nothing else I only got like 3 or 4 hours of sleep I was too anxious to fall asleep, or stay asleep. I think we got there at about 6:45 (don't know if sure because I didn't have my phone, hah!), and there was no one else there for at least 10 minutes. Oh good tip! And that is an AWESOME goal I had the very same one and mine came true So I'm going to show up at 6 AM on interview day, with Trav, with coffee (poor husband can't function without coffee lol), and with our file folder But with nothing else - we're going to try and get the hotel for two nights so we can just keep everything else in there with a do not disturb sign up And even C2 would be pretty, but C1 is frameable!
