I wear one for the day time at least once every two weeks or so, then my other shirt I use for PJs and I wear that all the time!

And yup, I picked up some bubble tea on my way back home. Almost forgot too! Posted Image

LOL awesome - on both counts :) The bubble tea in Montreal is different from in Winnipeg - here it's slushy and cold and fruity. Still good, but different!

I met up with them as they were heading back to the hotel. Went to Tim Hortons near their hotel and chatted for about 3 hours. It was nice :) And we wore our matching Canadian VJ wives t-shirt Posted Image

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCall NVC to track or just wait ?

Haha. I have an image in my head of getting all tied up in the wires.

I am not sure if I will have the same issues with officials asking for USC applicant. That's why I was curious about others' experience. I am at work so I will try calling tonight and see how it goes.

Thanks !

Haha...yeah, be careful with those wires! And PRAY you get a patient operator :P

Really hope your call goes well - keep us posted, and have a great evening! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCall NVC to track or just wait ?

Thanks Inky ! As I am the beneficiary I have found it problematic to call as, up until this stage, it has been about the "applicant".

If I can provide all the info (receipt#,names, birthdates) am I able to call NVC to follow-up ? or must the applicant continue to be the enquirer ?

The one time I had to call USCIS, it was application specific (meaning, they didn't want to talk to me, they only wanted to talk to the petitioner). However, they were able to work with me - I had Travis on Skype and he gave his authorization that way (don't ask me how, I used a computer headset and a cellphone and had to line up all the parts, LOL). But, we got it done. Would NVC be able to work similarly with you?

im 28 she is 45 old years !!!!! i love this woman i swear i nvr ever dream that i can have woman in my life love me like she do

See...you know what to say. Don't stress out over this - nothing's happened yet. Please relax and tell them the truth - that you love her very much.

As for the age difference - I can't see why it would matter, but I'm not one of the interviewers. Just relax and prepare.

i swear i love my wife like cryez i ask her to come live with me but she say no .....
i have other ask i hear they refus to give visa to men who marry wife older them him

That's strange...it shouldn't matter how old you are as long as you're both old enough to marry, and both free to marry according to US law. Is she a lot older than you?

If you really love her, just be honest and tell them you love her. Always be honest, and use short and simple answers. Praying it will be ok for you!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEasy way of speaking with a rep at UCIS

Hi everyone just wanted to share an easy headache free way of getting to a rep without wasting too much time and bypassing the automated system that mysteriously disconnects.

When you call the 1-800-375-5283 do not press any numbers for english or anything. The automated system will ask you to stay on the line if you dont have a touch tone phone and within 1 minute you will be connected to a representative through the spanish line she will go through her speech in spanish and then you can just tell them you keypad doesnt work or you pressed the wrong button eithier way all of the reps speak english so you wont have any problems and they wont transfer you back into the automated system. Also if you find that the rep is not helpful and 99 percent of the time they arent just ask for a supervisor even if the rep tells you the supervisor will say the exact same thing, its B.S I got my service request by asking for a supervisor after the rep insisted the supervisor cant help me.

I am really frustrated with the UCIS and hopefully if enough people can get through just maybe they can actually put in work. Oh and another tip if they ask you if you have called in before say yes and the other rep told me to call back today(the day your calling). they dont keep notes of conversations. And last but not least the whole "going through the Spanish line to get in contact with a rep" works with every organization and company.

Good Luck ......

Good tip - thanks! My husband is really shy (last time we spoke to USCIS, I did the talking which was...shall we say...fun :) ). This will help him a LOT!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresiwhat this reply of the USCIS means ?!!

Hi guys,
here is my problem:
my wife sent the form I-130 in December 15, 2011. She received an email after 3 days in December 18 from the USCIS said that the case was sent to the California office for processing. but till January 11, 2012 she didn't receive the Mail ( I-797 ). then she scheduled with her local office in her town in Texas an appointment for she can figure out why she didn't receive the mail, then she called and they gave her the date of the appointment : January 20, 2012.
but just in January 18, 2012 she checked her status in : USCIS.GOV for she see her status she found this message from the USCIS :

" On January 18, 2012, your document I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was processed and mailed to the address on record. If you have not received it within 30 days of January 18, 2012, contact customer service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move while your case is pending, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. "

so what this means ? it means that they finished all the process and they made a decision or what ?

then in January 20, 2012 she went to the appointment in person and the guys changed the address infront of her eyes, so she saw how he changed the wrong address by the right one.

thank u guys.

I think Darnell is right. We had that same message on Sept 6/11. Our priority date was Aug 24/11. The problem with getting this message is - they also put you into "post decision activity" on the USCIS website, which means you will not get any more notifications if your file is touched. (We didn't, anyway...).

When we phoned USCIS (CSC) in October, we thought we'd been approved and were ecstatic. They told us "no, sorry, the website was updated incorrectly. We just needed your address, because your mail didn't get delivered properly." Problem with THAT was, we'd already received the NOA1 hardcopy - so they didn't REALLY need our address...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 Question

Do just what everyone has previously told you.

I just want to add I'm from Tennessee also! Canadian's can't resist us southerners :)

I met my husband playing Final Fantasy XI, like you most of our conversations starting out were on the game. I did send in some screen shots that I used FRAPS to capture the text between us. I also included one from our wedding in game :)

My husband has sent me a total of 1 email since we've been together six years. I went ahead and included it.

You can also use cell phone records if you send texts. I know my bill shows all incoming and out going texts to what number. I high lighted the ones from the two of us. I sent in about three pages worth. (BTW Telus and Verizon are free to text between the US and Canada. We both have unlimited text plans. Sprint and AT&T charge for texts to Canada)

We use Skype and keep it on in the background when we play. Skype keeps a call log, even though there's no text I printed out the logs showing dates, times and how long we were on Skype.

Get an RBC USA access and RBC Royal Bank joint accounts. He does not need to be a Canadian citizen, all they use is his passport or birth certificate to put him on the Canadian account. And since he's the US citizen, they just use your ID to put you on the US account. Go to your local RBC branch and tell them you want to open a joint USA Access and RBC chequing account. They'll be happy to help you out, and your hubby can fax all the info to them. Voila you have a joint bank account and RBC makes it stupid easy to send money to each other if you need to.

LOL...just saw this message and had to respond...my husband is from Virginia - you're not kidding, something about those Southerners :) We also met in a game too - 9 Dragons online...and I wondered how to get the skype logs. Good information!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting During A Visa Petition??

Thanks for the quick response Trav&Shell. And has he just said he's visiting his wife?

No problem! Pretty much that's all he says, yeah - when they ask him (they're pretty lax sometimes coming into Canada). Tell her to take a bunch of proof that she's going to return to the US (letter from employer, rental lease or mortgage docs, return ticket, utility bills that don't say "cancelled service" or anything...you know...things like that). Should be easy if she's direct, respectful and not nervous. Sure hope you get a visit soon...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting During A Visa Petition??

Hi all. I live in the UK and my wife lives in the US. We're about half way through our petition to bring me to the US. We haven't seen each other since last July and my wife is going through a hard time at the moment and wants to come visit me in the UK.
I understand that i might have problems entering the US while our petition is being processed but would she have any problems visiting me in the UK during a our petition? After all, the petition is to get me to the US not to get her here.

Thoughts please. Thanks

She shouldn't have any problems beyond what she'd normally go through to visit you - my husband has visited me a couple times since we put in our application. Hope this helps!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInstructions for filing taxes with spouse outside of the country
Hi there, don't really know if I have the right idea but any help would be great! My husband and I know we need to obtain an ITIN number for me in order to do our taxes. However, there are no US Embassies in or near Winnipeg that offer notarial services. We have a consulate here, but it's "emergency situations only". I can't afford to fly 3-4 hours away just for a half hour notary appointment...there are enough plane tickets and other fees in the future ( ). Anyway - my thought was this. It's a scary idea, but could I courier my passport to my husband, so he can take it to the tax preparer and get it done? He'd then courier it back, but that thought scares me a bit...it's my passport. Advice?

I do not know who those brazil people are but here are the stats from VJ. The longest I seen is 6 months and many others are less than 2 months. Maybe you should fill out your timeline to give us more accurate data?

Thank you

http://www.visajourn...08,210,211&cfl=

Actually, know what? I'm from Canada, my timeline is updated, we've been in touch with CSC and congressmen, we found out the same information you did - CSC is backed up - and our petition is at almost 6 months. Looking like at least two more weeks, too. Waiting is not the end of the world if you're really in love. Seriously - if you know it's real love, you'll do whatever it takes to get there, right? Well, sometimes that means waiting. It kind of sucks but what can you do - besides more paperwork?

Ok, good to know its not just me. Stupid delays at every corner, ugh.

I think it's all part of the process of weeding out those couples that aren't truly wanting to start a family life together. Could be wrong, but you never know. We're choosing to use this as a test, ourselves :) If we can make it through this, we can make it through most things!

ya, so , you talked with a hu-man, but

did you give email addresses on the USCitizen Petitioner and the Foreign Beneficiary, via that telephone call?

If not, then NVC really doesn't know what's what.

Call back, give the email addresses, then ask for the AOS Fee Bill to be EMAILED TO THE USCitizen Petitioner.

Not sure if this is important, but for the last couple days they NEARLY ask for this information, then they correct themselves and say "you know, we've actually only received it, call back in a couple days blah blah." It's best not to give the information until they ask for it - right?
Trav&ShellFemaleCanada2012-03-13 19:32:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresi dont know whats going on

What are you looking for? An NVC expedite means that your file got expedited processing there (at NVC), not all the way through the chain.

Your file got a push at NVC, now it's on to the embassy where it will be reviewed. Your file didn't get put on some fast track to bypass all others. That's not how the expedite works.

Actually, what he did was request an expedite right on through the NVC process. This is what I just successfully did for various reasons. What happened was, NVC first sent the request to the embassy. The embassy had the final say whether or not they would grant the expedite request. The incomplete file was then sent two days later to the embassy once the request was approved. The embassy was responsible for gathering any remaining documents and payment. However, I had to deal with only NVC until they said that my file was sent to the embassy. From there, I could only deal with DoS until the embassy contacted me.

yes but what i understand that the embassy took the desicion if the expedite approve or denial not the NVC
thats what the NVC told us

Yes, the embassy makes the decision but the embassy will not communicate with you until they have your file (unfortunately). You won't be in their system yet. They only have your request. Until they have your actual file, you need to deal with NVC.

The embassy won't know anything yet - they will only get your entire file if your expedite is approved (or once your case is complete). You need to keep calling NVC until they tell you what is happening with your expedite. Call every day.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIV Fee ? $230 only ? Really ?

Hi,

Wife called me, told me she logged into state dept site to see if the IV fee is being shown there. It was , but we are both shocked to know that its only $230 , we were under the impression it was reduced to $300 from earlier $404.

Is this right ? or did NVC screw up ?

Nope, no screw up. $230 is right - I asked the consulate just after my interview was scheduled and they confirmed it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSo our petition got denied, what's next?...SAD

The way your relationship works isn't necessarily the way everyone else's does.

I did every single piece of paperwork for the entire process by myself. I just showed my husband (then fiance, obviously) where to sign. That's the way it worked for us. I'm very detail oriented and I had the time to do it. I don't necessarily believe that if the couple works on it together, it proves somehow that they both want it to work out. Some people just do things differently.

You sound like me :) My husband is always asking me "did I do this right?" "What did I miss?" so we decided I would fill out the papers and he would review/sign where needed. Someone once told me that comes with the territory of working in finance and I suspect they're right :)

Thank you :D Optin emails sent and logged in to see that we're not invoiced. Funny story - somehow we got through USCIS with an error on our I-130...no RFE...when I tried to give Trav's birthdate, they told me it wasn't right so I said "well, the year may say 1982 which is wrong." she said "why would it say that?" to which I said "because either I or USCIS made an input error and it was entered incorrectly."
