IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - March 2012	My parents had that car. Daddy bought it brand new in 1967 with his sign on bonus from the Air Force. They drove that car FOREVER. Well, until 1988 when my mom got a brand new Pontiac LeMans LE lol. The old 'maro sat around for years with a busted transmission. When my sister married her husband, who's a big gear head, he restored the car for our dad as a 60th birthday present. I'm not allowed to even BREATH on that car LOL If I can't get that Camaro. I'll settle for my very first car, but totally restored.. a 1964 Chevy Covair Monza Spider. I kinda broke the rear axle on it drag racing it in high school. My dad was livid, he sold the car, and I was with out wheels until I bought my own. Damn I wish I had that car now. OOOOOOOH you had a Monza!!!!!!!!!! Awww, thanks! A 1967 Camaro SS canary yellow with black racing stripes and lots of chrome OOOOOOO chrome....shiny....in high school I had a crush on a guy who wanted that exact camaro Well .. a PharmD is 7 years... He coulda invested in my business.. then my uncle and I wouldn't be scraping peanuts to get by. But oh well, such is life. They're awesome, and can fit a lotta stuff! The kidlets and I have a full weekend planned with scouts stuff and a picnic at the lake (hopefully the weather co-operates!) OOOH nice! Picnic sounds fun...fingers crossed on the weather for you. Scouts stuff? Yep, one of those ginormous Samsonites is exactly what I'm lookin for. I'm not shelling out a cent unless it's exactly that! That sounds goooood!!! I have to admit I shouldnt be grumbling at all-my hubby is sitting in the next room watching figure scating!while most of us are miles and miles away from each other It is just I want the process to be OVER !And ,of course,I need the interview definately in May,so my husband`s visa is still valid and we can leave together . Oh it will be good if I can avoid kicking the pedicurist in the head when she (inevitably) tickles me LOL You can grumble all you want, just because he's there now doesn't mean you don't WANT to be elsewhere with him - you just want to get "home." Keep an eye on your email and the payment portal. I've got a good feeling you're gonna get invoiced today Is the $88 ready to go? Oh yes! We've got every dollar ready in savings that we'll need for the process (with a good cushion just in case), and I made Trav transfer the 88 to checking last Friday so the second I get the invoice - it's paid (He also gave me the account info...he's happy that I can keep things organized, and after reviewing some of the stuff he sent to USCIS - it's better that way ) And of course I took advice - I asked for your input, so I'd be kinda dumb to ignore it once you gave it Thanks for steering a freaking out person in the right direction! We both had recieved the opt-in acceptance, so we both filled it out. Apparently when I talked to Nigel the other day and he said there's issues with EP, he knew what he was talking about, and fixed mine. That's probably why I got my AOS invoice yesterday. Shell just had to talk to the right person Yep, and this mystery woman was awesome. I feel so bad I didn't remember her name! she had a somewhat Jersey/Boston accent, and you could tell right away by the sound of her voice that she's a caring person, so if you talk to her you MAY be in luck! Explain it's been X amount of days since your case number was assigned. Tell them you know it shouldn't be taking this long as others around you that got their case number on the same day have gotten their AOS invoiced. If necessary, tell them you wish to speak to a supervisor. Be adamant. If the person can't speak English, hang up and try again What a WONDERFUL woman!! Sadly I can't even remember her name, but she picked up without even a WAIT. I took your advice and said "I was wondering if you could invoice my AOS bill", and she could pretty much see my entire case. She mentioned "you want to get down here to Virginia where it's warm don't you?" to which I said "I just want a hug!!" and she said "very good!" and laughed She said "sometimes, when a person tries to opt in for EP, what happens is the system gets confused...it hangs up and says 'what do I do now?!'...and that's what seems to have happened here." That made me laugh pretty good, lol. Then she said, "I will write this up and we'll get this sorted out right away. We'll get this fixed out for you and get an email to your husband ASAP so you can pay your bill." I mentioned I'd been able to fill out the DS-261 and she said "that's too funny because we haven't generated it yet...you're on the ball!" I said "Yes I am, maybe too much so?" and she laughed and said "Well, we're clearly not so it's good one of us is." Frown has officially been turned upside down...that was funny - and fun! I believe the way to do it is exactly the same as opting in, except in the subject line, you'd put "opt out" instead of "opt in", then probably include a small paragraph in the body explaining that you want to opt out of EP. But I dunno if I'd recommend this. I'm sure you'll get invoiced very soon (read: today); you just have to hold in there. Have you called operators today asking about the status of your invoice? I won't yet, but I'm all about options. I like to know mine. Lol. I called yesterday at about 9 pm, and the operator (who could barely understand me, or communicate with me) put me on hold for like a minute or so (I'm assuming because he had no idea what I was asking). When he came back, it was like he wasn't even listening anymore, like they'd infused his body with the same model they all try to follow. Like he was the Stepford Wife of NVC... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - March 2012	Yeah, I mean, obviously things can change on your 8am-10pm calls because those are across the work day, and who knows how long it takes the call center's system to update when something is done on the case (hence possible changes from 5pm-10pm). I think the issue is whether anything significant changes between your 10pm and 8am call the next day...if, like Rujby, you call at 10pm and they say the checklist hasn't been reviewed, would you really expect to hear that it has been reviewed at 8am the next day? But that doesn't mean that the people processing cases are there until midnight. "We just started scanning your case in" could mean that it was started during the workday and on hold until the next day. Saylin? Opinion? Read above - added more information. But it's the government...I highly doubt they have employees processing cases overnight between 5pm and 8am so if you call at 10pm today and 8am tomorrow, you aren't going to see any change in your case. Unless I'm misunderstanding you? They are staffed to midnight, actually. And it was a call at 10 pm where they first told me "we just started scanning your case in"...so I think you are misunderstanding me (Since I called usually 4 times a day for a case number - 8 AM, 12 noon, 5 PM and 10 PM, that's what I'm going off of...) They didn't do any work between 10pm last night and 8am this morning! Better off calling once a day at 5-6pm, which is when all the work for the day is finished. Actually, if Saylin's right - they staff people to work right up to end of day, right from beginning of day. At least that's what I read a few pages of posts back LOL...
