Woo hoo spoke to my first agent (freezing has finally worn off so why not, right? :) ). Very helpful and nice woman, but got the "give us 15 business days blah blah" line from her. RIIIIIIIGHT :) NVC, prepare to be annoyed :P

Problem is, it's all great information - so I don't even WANT to put it on "daily digest" - knowledge is good! :D

Definitely don't be relying on the AVR. I think I saw it being 6 days from your NOA2. It's safe to call a person now. I usually suggest waiting a week before calling an operator, so you're right there.

Remember, the AVR is always a few days behind. Order of finding things out: operator > AVR/correspondence

Right on - Thanks! That will be the first thing I do when I get home tonight! (Would call now but just got back from dentist...I want them to understand me :) )

Press 1, then 5 to get to an operator. You should be doing this anyway because the AVR is usually a couple of days behind.

...since I got my NOA2 late Friday night, when I called Mon-Wed, it didn't seem right to be talking to someone and checking already. I didn't think there was any way they'd have it yet! My plan was to start harassing the operators tonight, lol. Thanks for the info!

Hey! Silly but quick question - I tried to call last night from home to see if my case has been received yet, but the NVC system doesn't like my Blackberry when trying to enter my USCIS number. None of the numbers pick up correctly by their system. I'm so impatient I just hung up after 3 tries. Question is - is there a way to just speak to an operator? :bonk: :help:

Yes, after your return is processed and if you get a refund you can get your transcript. As it is I'll probably get my transcript and my husband's new passport at the same time.

I reminded him his passport expired in July in January. He still hasn't done it. He said yesterday "But you said I had plenty of time" "Yes, dear I did. IN JANUARY!" :bonk: Men! lol So if he sends it out today he should get it back in 10 days. Maybe..

He hasn't sent it yet?!?! WOW!!! :)

You're welcome. And don't be sorry, you weren't a pain. Just making sure you have the right documents!

Make sure, when ordering, use IE. Government sites much prefer IE and don't work as well with other browsers Posted Image

That headbonk guy is PERFECT for government agencies. I wanted to take my computer and do that to them using IT last night...lol. Any particular version of IE work better? Just want to optimize everything for them.... **sigh** :ranting:

No, NVC should accept the 1040s, W2s, and other schedules (if applicable) without any delay. But just in case, order the tax transcripts NOW. There has been a checklist or two recently received asking for the tax transcripts, even though the 1040s and W2s were seemingly provided.

If you know your husband's information, you can even order the tax transcripts for him online at IRS's site Posted Image

Thanks VERY much...husbandly meltdown averted! Sorry for being a pain about it - we'll order the transcripts but submit the 1040s. I tried to order them last night actually - for some reason I couldn't make the site accept his address. Maybe it just locked me out for the evening, and maybe trying again tonight would work.

No, you only get transcripts if you request them. The tax transcripts look something like this: http://www.losthoriz...Transcript1.jpg (that was the best I could find on Google images Posted Image). I'm not sure what your husband received. Most people, when they don't have the tax transcripts, send in copies of the 1040 and copies of their W2s (along with copies of other schedules, if applicable). If e-filing, then people just print a copy of that and then include a copy of their W2s.

OK. I like the looks of the transcript better - looks more official, it's 1 page as opposed to 2...thanks for sending that. Just trying to figure out if I want to deal with more of my husband beating himself up for "not being smart enough to get me the right stuff on the first try", as he'd put it. When I get talking finance/tax/anything like that, his eyes glaze over and he feels positively dumb (even though he's SO not). It makes me feel helpless when he does that where I can't hug him, and that's how this is going to go over...lol.

Thanks for your help though! That's awesome! It wouldn't cause a significant delay to just use the 1040's/W2/etc, would it? Weighing options...

I'd suggest you get your husband to order tax transcripts for the three years in time for the interview. It really is preferred to tax returns.

OK...just got back from a much needed de-stress power walk...before I let my husband have it AGAIN and tell him he needs to do something different, I'm going to clarify that I have the wrong stuff. See, I'm your typical "works in finance, stresses details and gets worked up when I don't get what I need YESTERDAY" kinda girl...lol...my husband's starting to second guess himself FAR too much and I'm trying to lessen that! It's not working... :bonk:

What I have are what he was given immediately after filing. They appear to be official copies of something, he gets his refunds immediately and THEN is given these printouts. Each is literally 2 pages for the 1040 plus one page for W2. That's it. One year, there was one page of amendment. This is not a transcript though, right? It just doesn't seem like "tons of random pages and forms" to me, but I may be wrong... :(

That'll definitely do it Posted Image Are you sending in tax transcripts for all three years, or...?

The only reason we added so many pay stubs was that he just got this new job in June 2010, and he hadn't filed his 2010 taxes to prove it, so pay stubs + employment letter was our proof Posted Image

Heh...well, I bugged and bugged for him to get transcripts. He figured he had them. Turns out he had the copies of his 1040s, plus W2 and any schedules for all three years (which were like, none). He has INSANELY straightforward taxes, so each pile was only like 4 pages. One year he had to amend his return. So, I included the amended portion as well - with a note explaining that the amendment did not affect his income but we wanted to be sure to fully disclose everything.

My wife went to ultrasound, It is a GIRLLLL, YEEEEE

A pretty girl according to the doctor, i am wondering how can he see she is pretty

Don't worry about 24 pages. Our AOS package was 30 pages (we had 5 months worth of pay stubs Posted Image).

Thank you, Saylin! :) We included one month's worth of paystubs (he gets paid weekly, so 4 stubs) because he's got an employment letter as well, and been at the job for coming on 4 years (and can easily support me on AOS). We used his 2011 tax documents too, as well as 2010 and 2009. Think that'll do it?

It's the long form, just smaller, it's about the size of a half sheet of paper. It's not plastic like credit card plastic, almost like the old shiny newspaper paper but more durable. If you've seen the new $100 bills, you'd see what I'm talking about.

His short form is about credit card size and same kind of plastic.

He was born in my province wasn't he? Mine's exactly the same way...what a pain! LOL...

Good to know :) I'm banging out paperwork today (read: now, lol), so that we're ready to go. I'm sure I'll drop you a message somewhere at some point! :)

**Adding something - whoops, just remembered! With my police certificate, I saw the agent search my aliases, but my former surnames didn't show up on the form even though they were searched. I was fingerprinted though. Think I'll run into an issue with this at NVC?

Finally got my interview July 9th!

Congrats, and GREAT day - THAT is my birthday :D

Don't forget it depends on the alignment of the stars, and you must hop on your left foot, counter clockwise, while picking your nose with your right hand, a cup of water in the left and not spill any, and you must do this all on a Tuesday afternoon at 4pm. (I kid, of course)

LOL!!!!!!!!

We're getting ready to leave Montreal! I'm sleeping better at night, all the stress is gone!!Hubby said it perfect after it was all done "Now I feel like we really are married, we won't have to be apart ever again" When he said that, and thinking back on his answer at our interview the tears started again lol. (L)

Mr. Sheeshka's passport has not been shipped as of this morning, but that's ok, since we don't plan on leaving until July.

Awww...isn't it WONDERFUL, the feeling of greatly reduced stress? So amazing - and LOVE the husband's response :D :luv:

I'm not surprised. I'm getting pretty fed up with everyone asking if I'm excited.

YOU'RE emotional?! i teared up just reading that... thats so bittersweet and touching...

LOL...welcome to my world, please enjoy this box of tissues :) At the lunch, people got up and shared some of the memories they had with me (and Trav, because they all met him and love him to pieces too), the woman I sing with sang a song (it was beautiful!), the pastor shared some of HIS memories, then they called me up. When they told me how much was in the envelope, I was in ugly-face sobs. Been weepy ever since. Lol. It's VERY bittersweet...very overwhelming...lol...

side note: idk why i'm so emotional lately... i can cry about almost anything (real life and tv)... i sobbed so loud during the Grey's season finale... lol

HUG!!! Here, let's cry a little together lol. Wonder if it's hormones...or something in the water...LOL :)

I'm really hoping that our processing will be done soon, it would be nice for my hubby's interview to be scheduled before school starts in mid-August, but I'm thinking that may be too much to hope for. I really wanted to attend the interview with him, but no way to do it once school starts.
