Thank you, thank you :) Turns out being a team lead at a restaurant's call center CAN come in handy!

OMG NVC operators keep track of how many times you call! I just got a smart... that told me " I see you call quite a bit and if you notice nothing has happened, you still do not have an interview date and will not have it till the 2nd week of April"... on a normal phone call I would of asked for a Manager or something after having such a rude person but with Immigration they are always right as per them so no point in arguing that she was rude! to the extreme!

I better be getting my interview date soon... I ran out of all the patience I had to hold their stupid rudeness!

Ugh...you know, I worked in a call center and was never EVER allowed to be rude like that. Makes me want to say "That's nice, now please remember that it is not your job to lecture me on my calling practices. You are not the one who's been waiting almost a year to reunite your family. I will do what makes me feel more peaceful and in control. Thank you, and have a wonderful day!"

Laure&Colin got approved this morning @ embassy. I'm so happy for them.

That's so awesome! :D

Thanks ^_^ I really need the sleep. I've been lacking sleep these last few weeks >_<

And my expected flying dates are June 1 and June 7th. And I'd definitely high-five you! Then probably turn around to accompany you for a nice chat while waiting for our flights :D

Ohh! We could have a chat in Sbarro! :) I've never been, LOL :) Your dates are actually when I was hoping to fly so we may just cross paths :) I'll keep you posted!

Yeah, took me a second to figure out why you did POE in Toronto and not Winnipeg. I need my sleep Posted Image

And yeah, I'm flying back to Canada in June, and of course my layover will be in Minneapolis, and I'm making sure it's a long layover so I can enjoy it. And oh my gosh, I forgot about the tram until you just mentioned it! That was my first airport tram and when I first went on it, I'm like oooooo. And yes the walkaways are pure awesome.

LOL...sleep well Saylin! And ooooh - if I POE when you're going through, and I see someone on the walkways that looks like you once landed in Minneapolis...I'm sticking my hand out while standing on the opposing walkway for a high five :) Something about a stationary-yet-moving 5 really intrigues me!

Awful pizza sold in airports and travel centers...

oh it's beautiful here! But still the middle of no where!

I'm going to do my best to not eat much on the trip (as if I could LOL), because Trav's promised to take me for dinner to one of two places (Sonny's or Cracker Barrel...we haven't decided yet, unless we go for slightly fancier which I doubt lol). So...well, as yummy as pizza sounds - Sbarro will have to wait lol. And wow, is it ever beautiful there. One of my favorite places on earth! Middle of nowhere is pretty much perfect.

HAHAHAHA no! Shell and I live in podunk TN/VA.. we're actually an hour apart from each other. All we have here are small (very small) regional airports. The two closest international airports to us are Charlotte, NC or Nashville, TN: both four hours away.

Actually, the drive from Charlotte to Saltville is a really beautiful one. I can't wait to do it this next time! :D

Oh, never mind, I get my mistake. Since you're flying from Winnipeg to Toronto, it's just a domestic flight; you're not flying to the US yet. D'oh Posted Image I think it's time I get to bed, my brain has clearly stopped functioning...

And I LOVE Minneapolis airport. Whenever I flew here to South Dakota, that was the stop right before the tiny airport in my husband's town. I love love love their moving sidewalks, and the restaurant Sbarro's there. Om nom nom :D I haven't flown since August 2010, I kinda miss it :(

Don't hurt your noggin with that hammer! I had that thought before too, and was SO confused the first time I went through Toronto! But then again, that airport messes with my head...so badly...

I love Minneapolis too, and Trav loves it even more! He doesnt' even take the tram anymore and requests a longer layover so he can just walk between terminals. It's a really nicely laid out airport and the walkways are pretty nifty :) LOL...what's a Sbarro??

It doesn't matter where you fly to, if you go through the Winnipeg airport, that WILL be your POE as it's a preclearance location.

And there's no direct flights to your destination from Winnipeg?

Actually, I don't so much know about that - my preclearance area will be either winnipeg international or toronto international. When I've flown to Trav's before, if I go through Toronto I clear customs there and not here, and it's a much easier POE...but I highly prefer stopping in Minneapolis.

And don't I wish there were direct flights to Charlotte from Winnipeg?! LOL...

And yeah, I'm thinking more of the east side (Ontario and Quebec) see the visa crossings. Granted, where you're crossing is near Winnipeg, so I'm sure they've seen some. Definitely bring documentation about the IR-1 visa though in case they're out of practice. And yes, train your hubby now! :P

Hey, any chance you're going south on I-29 into South Dakota?!

From what I've read, Pembina's POE is super easy for the most part. Should be no problem! Wish I was going that way! I'll probably either have to fly through Winnipeg to Minneapolis (with POE in Winnipeg Airport which is full of power tripping border guards  ), or through Winnipeg to Toronto (POE in Toronto, which shouldn't be bad but Air Canada.... :bonk: )

I e-filed back in February but didn't mail my payment until March 17th. I have never written that big a check in my life. I got the return receipt for it but I have no idea how long it takes for the transcript to be available.

so from what I gather, I should just update my I-864, and remove 2008 return from there. Add 2011 return in it. I will remove part 7 as it is optional. and for supporting documents, I will prepare the tax return for 2011 and the transcripts that I have for 2010 and 2009. I also have my employment letter. Regarding the paystubs, how far back should I go? How many should I send? They are already in PDF format so easy for me to attach. I was going to add bank statements before but will leave it out now. I also had stock portfolios which I won't bother attaching now.

What I have:
1. Cover letter
2. I-864
3. Tax return 2011
4. Tax Transcript 2010
5. Tax Transcript 2009
6. Employment letter
7. Pay stubbs

What else should I add?

Your package sounds exactly like my husband's. You should be good to go once you get the bar coded cover sheet from NVC!

This place is already so much more fun than the depressing state of affairs in the waiting for NOA2 threads. It was filled with those who were gloating about their NOA2s and although they did sympathize with you a little but with all those smileys you could easily tell what they were really feeling inside!

You're not kidding! This place is much more positive and happy-thought filled :) However, sometimes we still get impatient and cranky with NVC because they don't want to take our money fast enough... It's still not as depressing as the NOA2 threads!

No, no need to be alarmed. It does usually take a few days to get invoiced. You should be able to log in soon though.

Perhaps it's taking long because they're invoicing both bills ;)

LOL...I wondered that! Yep, I submitted it and about an hour later got my first SIF. That was the same day they had to update my husband's birthdate...I know that for sure I was able to sign in even that morning, too. Never, ever have I been so antsy to part with $500!

Aww how sweet! So when do the first of your "immigration babies" turn 1 year old? :)

Dear US Government,
I did my civic duty by simulating the economy with my federal tax return. Now I wish to reduce the national deficit by $500.00, by paying the fees to bring my husband to our country. Please remit an invoice by 5:00pm today.
I anxiously await your reply.
Sincerely,
Fed Up US Citizen

HEAR HEAR!!! I second that motion!! :)

You can get Cadbury Eggs in America! Hold out for something more Canadian! Like Coffee Crisp Eggs!

My husband has already been instructed to buy me some, and bring them to Montreal. If he forgets, we won't need the interview, he'll be divorced! :P

That'd be amazing if your dream cam true!

Would be amazing! It was one of those weird dreams, you know...right when you just go back to sleep after waking up an hour too early, right when you're half conscious? I sure hope it's right but I won't hold my breath LOL.

I unfortunately can't think of any horror movies as "cheesy" because they scare the $#!^ of me. And similar to what you think, I always wonder if this can happen to ME. *insert over-active imagination*

You know, most horror movies do that to me too - for some reason I just couldn't get scared at the Paranormal Activity series (maybe it was the acting? I dunno...lol). The WORST one for making me go "what if this really happened", oddly, was also a really REALLY badly acted one so I don't know why it was so different! It was really old - Rosemary's Baby. *chills*

Yeah, my husband asked me to watch Paranormal Activity 3 a few months ago and I said yes, because I wanted to be nice and such. Yeah, very bad idea. I was twitchy the entire movie (I hate ghost movies), and the last 20 minutes (when it gets really scary) I didn't watch at all; I was staring at the seat in front of me. It then took me about 3 hours to fall asleep, with my body clamped around my husband's arm Posted Image Let's just say I'm not going to see the sequels with him in the future.

UGH...I saw that one with a friend. I actually found most of the Paranormal activity series cheesy (have no idea HOW!!!). Now, movies like Shutter Island...those ones keep me awake because I get thinking "what if this really happened?!"
