Hmmm same here.Missing by sugerpie Hubby!!I wish i could Slap the NVC and USCIS guys so hard.

I wish they'd maybe make it a prerequisite of their job that all NVC and USCIS employees must be forcibly separated from their loved ones for a year, see how they like it. Of course, that'll never happen - they don't want to disrupt their families

By the way folks my wife went to the other hospital and we got the teste result. Our daughter is fine, thank you God

Good! That's awesome news - glad to hear it! :D

Call again later tonight. Don't give up!

I've made my 2nd of 3 calls today with no results. J.R. actually asked my name and date of birth, and then corrected himself when I started giving the info. He didn't give me a timeframe but explained "My system's automated to prompt me to ask those things, but obviously I don't have any further information." Hopes up, and then dashed...

Oddly, I'm feeling pretty disheartened with the process, but sure won't give up. I just miss Trav, that's all!

I just called to check on our case and I was also asked what type of petition was filed, first time for me as well. This person sounded like he was reading from a script. He went on to tell me the 10-20 business day line and even told me when 10-20 business days would be. He did leave me with a ray of hope at the end of the call when he said I should call back on 3/19. I plan on calling tonight, just in case.

I was hoping the NVC phase would go a little faster, but with the luck we've had up to this point i'm not surprised that we aren't moving faster. Fortunately I have everything ready to go for the AOS and IV, just need the NVC to do their part.

That sounds like Frank! Doesn't matter when he said to call, I'm still calling every day lol. And you're exactly right, I was hoping too but it looks like those hopes are going to take a beating. I sure hope I'll be home by August, at this rate... :(

I am so happy!! The operator had to remind me to take a deep breath hahaha. I'd like to thank Saylin for always being so readily available, professional and most of all patient in answering all my questions. I wouldn't have been able to get through NVC without her and all the other people that helped me along the way.

I am glad to say my journey with NVC is over. Now I will patiently wait for an interview.

Best of Luck to all going through NVC. !! :star:

Trav&ShellFemaleCanada2012-03-16 10:13:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - March 2012

It does count. We went out to eat the other day and they had run out of the only veggie option on the menu so not wanting a green salad I had French Onion soup and afterwards I realised that it probably was made with meat stock. (Oh well if I don't know in advance.) Life will be easier in Southern California.

If you want to experience poutine before you go to Montreal, if you eat cheese that is - you could make some fries, get some cheese curds, and make some gravy with veggie stock. Pour over fries and cheese and voila! Almost like the real thing only way healthier :) I'm sure there will be many vegetarian options in Montreal, too...

http://www.happycow....uebec/montreal/ - one of these restaurants MAY have veggie poutine as well - enjoy! :)

I'll have to see if hubby is interested. Is Poutine meat? I don't eat meat, hoping it's easier to find non-meat options in Montreal than it is in Alberta.

Nope. Poutine is essentially fries smothered in cheese and this most yummy gravy. Well, in the gravy there may be meat stock...not sure if that counts as meat? Some people have also seen it covered in pulled pork/butter chicken, etc.

I guess the guy was just too lazy to look up your receipt number on his system, so he asked you that question to be able to give you general answers that apply for your case. If it was an I-129F, he would probably say something like "we'll forward the case to the embassy a couple days after we receive it, so just wait for the embassy to contact you (and don't call back)" :P

Oh THAT'S a good thought - and completely understandable! He probably zoned out the second I said "I have a CIS number" lol. Didn't think he'd be that lazy on a Friday....Oh wait, I'm being lazy too so why wouldn't I think that!? :D

Yeah, all my operators except one were pleasant, albeit not very smart at times. The only time I got a really rude one was when I was waiting for an interview date and instead of calling NVC just once that day, I decided to call a second time, closer to midnight. The dude freaked out on me, almost yelling, saying I had already called earlier that day and that an interview date was still not scheduled. And that I should just wait another week or two before calling again. I was like, woah...

Wow. Sure hope he got talked to! Or maybe he had, just before you called - and that made him extra crispy? At any rate, wow...How quick after that did you get your interview?

I've only had one really cranky op at NVC, but they weren't cranky with me per se - they were just grumpy in general I think. Pouring on the nice with them makes those types sometimes give you info to shut you up so here's hoping I get cranky again later!

That is definitely an interesting question to ask. Never at NVC or DOS was that asked of me. And I've never seen anyone here being asked that. You definitely got a strange little dude this morning.. Posted Image

LOL...oh you have no idea! Frank was pleasant, if somewhat robotic...clearly reading something from somewhere, but asked me odd questions. Poor lil Frank, wonder if he knows he made the message boards :D

I also just reviewed my timeline and realized that nothing's really been NORMAL with my simple little I-130 so why should I start having normal now? Thank you, USCIS, for starting the chain of strange! :)

What did he ask for?

I know he asked me two or three things, but the one I remember was that he asked me "what type of petition was filed? Was it an I-129F, I-130 or something different?". It's probably insignificant but that stuck out as...hmm, no one in 2 weeks has asked that! What's the deal?

Aw :P Flying to Hawaii takes about 13 hours when all's said and done. I travel in comfy clothes, no make-up, glasses. First lay over, I put in contacts and put my face together and then when I get to HI I race to the washroom and change my clothes, haha. I'm gonna look sexy as I'm dragging like 5 bags of luggage behind me

Oh yes, the hot dogs at Belle Province are the best EVER. I would recommend that restaurant 10000000%. I can't comment on their poutine as I've never had their before, but if it's anything like their hot dogs, it'll be delicious.

And have fun finding that stuff in Virginia :P

Hopefully there will be a website somewhere that does mail-order...managed to find a way to get Tim Horton's so maybe? :)

If their hot dogs are anything like the ones I remember from Niagara Falls, NY...the Belle Province hot dogs will be incredible. Yum!

Yup, north of Laval, right on the St. Lawrence river :) And I believe Belle Province sells poutine, so I'm probably gonna buy it there as there's one right on the outskirts of Rosemere. Plus, I LOVE their hot dogs (I refuse to eat hot dogs anywhere else except there). I have SO much to eat in the few days I'm in Canada Posted Image

Yep, Belle Province does! I have a friend who's informed me their hot dogs and poutine are a necessity of life, so...Belle Province it is! LOL...I need to find a way to get saskatoon jam to Virginia...and frozen saskatoons for pies...why do I have to like baking with obscure berries?! :bonk:

Lol...well...I found this link. Is it near Laval? If so...go here! http://www.dicanns.c...s/Dic_Anns.html (they're supposed to be yummy...:) )

Fondue you can have any time at home. Poutine on the other hand always tastes better when someone else makes it.

look - when yer in Montreal, this is gonna be one of the last times, this year, for you to get yer poutine fix.

You should plan ahead for this, make a 'poutine tour' for several days, taking in all the various places within a 4 km radius of the US Consulate that are on the train line.

It's fun, and keeps you relaxed.

http://maps.google.c...39703&z=11&om=1

Check this link out. It's a map of Montreal Poutines! :)

So much cheese in my system, show up to interview a gassy, butt-burping mess. They approve me just to get me out. This will be my plan.

My husband called today a NVC supervisor about why they are delaying to give case no,she said that USCIS first send them digitally that our case has been approved in their system but they didnt get the I130 pacage from them electically. When USCIS will give them the pacage electically the system will provide the case# automatically. It is TRue?

I don't think USCIS does electronic shipping of cases. it's all hard copies going to NVC, and then they have to scan them in. Electronic shipping would be WAY more cost/time efficient, so it's probably out of the question for them.
