OK thanks! Can't wait to be done with USCIS forever.

Me too!!!  But don't cry, he doesn't have to POE again, just get the fingerprints. :)

Hey!  Long time no see :)  Yes, you have to send in a check for 590 total.  The form tells you to do that.  Biometrics is where they take your fingerprints again.  Like when he got fingerprinted at POE, all over again.

Don't do either.  Use a personal check.  You can order checks personal checks online from many different vendors, cheaper and faster than from your bank.  You could have them in your hands in a few days.

PS: The reason I say this, is because there are countless stories of USCIS losing certified checks/money orders.  And it takes months to get your money back, and tons of hassle....

Good tip.  I've actually never heard of this service before!  It would really stink to have USCIS lose our money.  I'll look into ordering these checks right now!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionPayment Methods

Hi all - sorry if this has been answered already (I've been a forgetful mess this past week).  While reading the USCIS website, they indicated that a money order would be acceptable as payment for the ROC fees.  However, they mentioned that it must be drawn on exclusively US financial institutions.  Does this also include a money order from USPS?  Or, should I instead play it safe and go purchase one from the bank?  (This wouldn't normally be an issue but the account we've set aside for this purpose does not have checks yet, and won't for a while.)

Thanks for your help!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionSilly Question re: Biometrics

Wasn't really able to find anything on specifically Charlotte walk-in biometrics that was exactly helpful for my situation.  Anyone got any information?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionSilly Question re: Biometrics

Hi all - I know this is a silly question but I couldn't find my answer anywhere.  I'm sorry if it's been answered before.  When I get my biometrics letter, it will likely tell me that my appointment is in Norfolk which is at least a 7 hour drive (likely more).  It will also require a hotel stay (which we can't afford, and my husband hasn't got any more vacation time to accommodate a two day trip so may cause job problems for him).  However, the Charlotte center is about 3.5 hours away and would require only one day off work for him, which he could easily do (I don't drive yet so he kind of has to come with me).  Can I do a walk-in at the Charlotte center even though it's in North Carolina and I'm in Virginia?
