Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioni-751 March 2014 Filers UNITE !

May as well take me off the stupid list.  USCIS sent the package back for missing pages but we didn't miss any (I just checked).  Sigh.

....actually, either put me on the "stupid" list or put the handler of my application on it.  somehow it ended up missing page 3 of the application.  I know I included it so now I'm confused.  Either way, we're out for March :(

Still nothing in the mail or any activity in my bank account

Guys, word of advice, never live in Hawaii if you're ever waiting on important mail.

Southwest Virginia is about the same!  Apparently the "mountain people" scare the mail carriers away... :)

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioni-751 March 2014 Filers UNITE !

I received today my NOA1 in the mail, with the receipt date of march 26th, yay! One thing has me kinda worried tho, it says that they are extending my resident status for 1 more year, but it does not apply if my conditional resident status has been terminated....what does this mean?? so If my conditional GC expires next week, I won't be able to travel/work till after I complete the biometrics/GC production process?

No, it is extending the expiration of your conditional GC for one year.  You can still work, and you can still travel.  That letter serves as the proof of extension for your expiration date.  Keep both of them on your person.

Thank you for this amazing work, but most especially this last line. My husband was getting really discouraged until I read it to him and he realized we could potentially hear something this week (or early next, statistically speaking). :content:

I know exactly what you mean, when I spoke to the officer 3 days ago and he said no later than first week of Febuary I tried not to get excited. The next morning first thing I did was open my agenda to count how far away the 1st week of July was and realized thats next week! Ahhhh I screamed of joy and called hubby and he screamed as much as me!

That's REALLY cute! :) Wait a sec, was it you who was talking about not opening that agenda the other day? :P

Yah.. might be different for me.. right now.. my husband is trying to get me an appointment online.. they said it's way better and easy to schedule it online.. thank you so much again.

You're welcome! Yeah, from what I understood, when they told me to schedule my own interview date - that's what they wanted me to do and they WOULDN'T schedule me one. It was up to me after that point. you know? Good luck!!! :)

Quick note cause Mr. Sheeshka is getting antsy and wants to go out...

We were APPROVED!! Reveiw here --> Montreal Review

I'll be back later if the internet holds out!

Oh ok .. that's great to hear then.. it means my husband can login to that page and book the interview for me.. .. you had to pay everything online right?
Thank you.. your info is such a big help :)

You're welcome :) I only paid the AOS online - that's when NVC got confused with my file. I paid the visa fee about 5 minutes before my interview, AT the consulate. It may be different for you.

I am sorry guys.. if i made you confused on our case.. anyway.. i think my hubby expedited our paper.. and it says that i must log onto this site www.ustraveldocs.com

Yep, that page looks different than the one I had to use - BUT it's the same information. Log in and book that interview! :D

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - May 2012

That's why i asked her earlier if their case was expedited. I wasn't sure about who schedules in cases like that, and I was only guessing that that could have been the reason why she received that letter. Her first answer was that they didn't expedite, and that's what confuses me.

Yeah, I'm a little confused too - it seems that maybe her husband did? I hope that's what happened!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - May 2012

Your received it through postal mail? That's how it works for K1 or DCF filers, but for IR-1/CR-1, the NVC is the one who schedules the interviews for us. Or the embassy, I think, if expedited.

Hmm, I don't really know what's happening here.

Actually - I was expedited and I got the letter to schedule my own interview. You just log onto the website the letter says to go to, and you pick a date. Super simple.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - May 2012

Oh, I understand now. And wow, really? In between flights? That's dumb... At Montreal, they open the TSA area like around 6am or so, and they stay open until the last flight of the night.

See, that's how it used to be. It may be still. I usually get Trav out on the first flight of the day so i can still work after he leaves (keeps my mind off the fact that he's gone), so I have NO clue! LOL...they may still do that.

And yes, I'm thinking bubble tea either before or after my get together with Sheeshka. And I'm gonna have some poutine at some point while I'm there as I haven't had any in YEARS. I've got a list in my head of which restaurants I need to eat at Posted Image

LOL that's awesome...it's so weird, we were looking at pics of Montreal last night and both were like, "I really miss that place." He fell in love with Chinatown, LOL...

And I dunno about the pink hair. It's very expensive to get highlights done at the salon I go to (think $200-$300 and I don't really want to spend that much at the moment Posted Image), plus, I just got a haircut today (just a trim). I think two salon visits within a week (albeit for different purposes) would be a lot. I might look into just buying bottles of pink and bleach and doing it myself. But the thought of somehow bleaching my own hair and putting color in terrifies me as I have no idea how to do that Posted Image We'll see...

Aww, well, you may be right about the visits and you're DEFINITELY right about the price (although it would be pretty sweet!). Yeah, be careful with that bleach! My sister did it once and yeah, I know she did something wrong but her hair STILL fell out...it was funny but sad all at once... :hehe:

What do you mean the airport locks the TSA area between flights? *confused*

And yes, omg, I'm SUPER excited!!! As you can probably tell by my hourly countdown Posted Image

There is a big glass door from the check in counters and the security gate. When i dropped Trav off once, we were told we had to wait for them to open the gate before the flight. That may have been the first flight of the day so I could be thinking way wrong. It's all good either way - 7 AM should work :)

LOL...yeah, you are going to have such a good time! Bubble tea and poutine? :) Are you getting your hair done pink? :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - May 2012

You can still call. But 7am is perfect! That should be plenty of time to get through customs. Mine, albeit not at an airport, took about an hour.

Weirdness is that I think Winnipeg Airport locks the TSA area between flights. Going to have to do a covert ops merge-in with another flight. Lol. Yay!

So are you excited, with your 47 hours left? :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - May 2012

Oh jeez Posted Image Posted Image I'm sure the TSA is easier to deal with than immigration :P

Personally, I'd say two hours at the MINIMUM. Three hours might be better though.

LOL I know right? I think I'm just in hassle-overload :P My plane leaves at 10:50 AM on the 9th so I'm going to try to slip on in at about 7 AM or so. Think I should call to see what they say, or just show up? :)

Ugh. How pathetic is this? After all the ####### we've dealt with and all the wrestling with red tape to get done - I am scared to call the TSA at Winnipeg's airport (to find out when they recommend showing up for POE). Sigh!

LOL...yeah, that was pretty much what I said when I saw the thing :) I took pictures of the package (front and back), just trying to figure out how to get them on here, but wow...it's REALLY clear that they want it sealed :P

...did I mention the letters on the white piece of paper were all capital letters and done in bold black font? :)

Visa in hand...they REALLY don't want you to open the yellow envelope LOL. There's a stamp on one side that says "do not open", they've taped the seam and ink stamped it twice (and signed the stamps), and then on the other side they've got a big white piece of paper that says "do not open." Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and leave it alone
