This is a technical issue, the way i head this busy tone. Probably their call center is down

Please tell NVC to fix their system so i can get through

Sheeshkabelle is on hold with them now. Try again. They are REALLY busy, that's all. Their phone system can probably only handle a certain number of people in the queue.

Sure, I'm afraid of my husband bolting anyway, that way he'll have to get past you :P

when he proposed to me, he didn't give me a ring. (he was broke at the time) when I did get my ring he put it on my finger and said "I'm not asking you again, you said yes the first time, I'm not giving you a chance to change your mind" Like I was going to!

LOL...ok Trav and I can be your Sheeshka-blocker :P (Nice..."you said yes the first time"...that's funny :D )

So they are in different sections. :)

At Vancouver they separated everyone up while still outside, before going through security. People I saw for other visas, I never saw again after that lol. So my theory is they go to a completely different place. (or something in the basement ate them)

I vote for that option - and that's funny! Giggling at my desk now :)

Oh ok i see as the lady at the office informed me last thursday that she will get an answer last friday or today, yuou think i could call or email her?

Yep, just politely email her and tell her what NVC told her. All I'd say is "Dear XXXXX,

I just wanted to follow up with you regarding our expedite request. I have some further information that may help you. When I spoke with NVC today regarding the request, they informed me that there has been no decision made yet. I wondered if you'd heard anything different?

Thank you for your help,

XXXXX"

That's all it takes!

Yeah, I have absolutely no idea what's going on. I guess we'll just have to see...

I've not heard anyone else talking about the IR-1/CR-1 being able to schedule their own interviews in Canada, so I'm weary about this. Not sure if I should believe it or not as you're the only one that's heard it so far. Or others have heard it but not said anything Posted Image

If they come back and tell me to schedule myself, I will because my case is different - but it really sounds weird to me too! not sure what to make of it! LOL....

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - April 2012

Yeah, that number doesn't work. I think just an automated system comes on telling you to email them, if anything. Not too sure as I never called the number, knowing from the Canada forum that if you call Montreal, you won't get an operator. See if your congressman can find out anything about what's going on with your case. And them mentioning packets all the time now may seem to indicate something. It's definitely an improvement over them saying nothing is going on (or even your case isn't there Posted Image).

Yeah, I won't bother calling the consulate. I'll email them and keep calling DoS. Wonder if they really ARE implementing a self-scheduled IR-1/CR-1 interview system? It is an improvement...she didn't say "they've just started working on your case" and she CERTAINLY didn't say "we don't have your file yet", so that must mean they've written something in there! She also said "there's no interview scheduled for you yet", and all I said was "I was wondering if there have been any updates on my file, or if there is anything needed by the consulate that would help them" so...the wheels are turning in my mind now...

I called NVC and was informed that the embassy has not given any outcome yet, will DOS know if i call them now?

DoS probably wouldn't know. I never contacted them until after the expedite was approved. You can always touch base with the senator...

Doesn't the PCC have to be valid as of the date of the interview at the Embassy?

I think you're right...which means (to me) that when they're reviewing it, they'd need to see that it will be valid as of the date of the interview. Is this what you think?

Request for the expeditious processing:

The NVC operators tell you to put in subject line: ATTN: PI SUPERVISOR SUE (case number) This is wrong and will not be received or major delay!

On Saturday after chatting here on vj and getting advice I sent it again as: ATTN: SUPERVISOR SUE (case number) The case was received 7am today and is now under review!

Don't put PI as the operators suggest!

Awesome news! Now you begin the wait...again :D

Yea, I get where ur coming from. It is frustrating. But it's not just $100, it's more like $174, which I too would've gladly paid in order to be done by now. Husbands PCC is expired now which is depressing me. Contemplating whether I should get a new one or just ask that they accept it and we'll provide a new one at the interview. Angel told me to get a new one, but I didn't like her tone, so still thinking about it... Really thought it'd be done with the 2 packets by now... Didn't think I'd be in this position...

Unfortunately, if the PCC is expired I'm not sure they'll even take it :( That sucks! How difficult are they to get from where your husband is?

Weird Posted Image I'd definitely email Montreal pronto and explain your situation and ask them what you need to do next. Expect to wait a few days though as Montreal is typically slow at responding.

yep, I emailed them and got the auto-response already. The website listed a phone number but I seem to remember hearing they don't answer the phones - is this correct? Wonder...maybe the congressman will get solid answers before they even get back to me LOL. On the other hand, she asked if I got a packet yet. Wonder if that means that "something" is in the works to be sent to me?

I was making lists of what had to done before we put our house up for sale and I commented to my husband that there was no way to tell the difference between crossing something off the list because it had been done and crossing something off because it didn't need to be on there. He said highlight the things you have completed. I love that. Gives me a sense of accomplishment when I see all the highlighted items.

When I talking on phone with her, when we hang up I still miss her. Even I was using skype when we log out I was still gonna miss her or even I see her. My only way to stop thinking about the process is to be with her and be able to play with that big belly. The baby does not need nobody to touch the belly, she will kick u... Lol I really want to feel the baby kicking my hand.

Those 2 days are like an eternity for me

OH! I thought you meant it was a long weekend like a holiday! I see now...sigh, must be time to sleep soon.

Of course you miss her, you love her! :( The first time I talked to Trav, before we started leaving skype on all the time, hanging up felt BAD. It felt wrong to not see my husband at all. So now we leave it on and it feels ok. Not great, but OK. Like we could do this. And yes, that baby kicking sounds like something you need to experience! :(

Hehe ^_^ I just used this free sticky note pad I had lying around. First column of sticky notes was about the AOS package and what was needed, second column was about the IV package, third column was the medical, and the fourth was the interview. I also then had digital notes of what I needed to do before I moved (sell stuff, pack, rent a car, etc). Lists are awesome :D And keeps yourself SO organized! Plus, it feels good to cross things off and remove your lists (if physical).

I know how you feel actually. I have a physical agenda for school to cross off assignments I've done. With all the apps and such out there, I'm sure it would have been easy for me to find an online, digital agenda, but I too like the feeling of crossing things off.

You can keep your physical ones, as long as you throw them away once everything is crossed off :P

I did the same thing for my immigration process. Here's a snapshot of my sticky notes on my wall with each step of the process. Took them off my wall once each step was complete.

On weekends I always think about the process. This will end when I am with my wife in the states. On weekend, as usual, I talk, chat with wifey I rest and go to rehearsal in the afternoon at church. I play piano for my church, I'm christian.

Doesn't it make you feel MORE stressed to never take a day off from thinking about the process? I try not to log in here much even, because I need a break. After my weekend, on Mondays I usually feel refreshed and ready to go - but by Friday I'm ready to take my phone and ram it down the next DoS operator's throat that tells me wrong info - that's how I know it is time for a break! :P

Yeah, I kinda skated as a kid, but I was horrible at it. And last time I ice skated was in Florida between 2005-2007 when I was living there, and I had to hold onto the edge of the ice arena the whole time otherwise I'd fall on my butt >_< My experience on roller blades were worse as I couldn't hold onto anything. So, my husband would skate while I was behind him, holding onto dear life onto his jeans Posted Image And then he moved, and lost my skates, so I can't try again even if I wanted (unless I wanted to dish out money again on them).

Sounds like a good plan for the pan! And oh gosh, you're planning on moving by flying? I would never have been able to get all my stuff in suitcases. Everything of mine was in boxes and packed solid in a car. I had/have so much stuff Posted Image

LOL...well, your rollerblading experience is a good way to build memories! :D that's a funny story lol. I'm going to guess you won't be dishing any money out anytime soon for more blades lol...

Yeah, I sure am moving by flying! I don't drive, and if I POE before July (which I really REALLY hope to), then Trav has no vacation time. So...Delta it is! I've been weeding out my stuff for the past year - first in March when I moved back to Manitoba and took only what I could carry. Then, again in september when a friend took me to Saskatchewan with a truck (no trailer though), and I had to pick what would fit inside the truck. Then, December - another move, because my landlord was selling the mouse-infested house I was living in, so more weeding out. And now, I have a month or two to finish up. I should be good to move by air - but I hope to get it down to 3 bags (bow case included :D )

I called nvc, the embassy has not given their final decision yet.... I'm happy because today my wife received a letter at her house from nvc date April 18th stating our request was denied. This letter was written for the previous request that we made and was written the same day we made our second request. The second request was sent at 10hpm april 18th and got a message from nvc saying the reviewing started april 19th. It was just to avoid confusion I called and to tell wifey there is still hope.

You can try selling the blades. Worth a shot! Make sure to include a photograph of it on the ad :P And yeah, I can't rollerblade either. When I visited my husband back in 2010, he wanted me to try. So we got some cheap blades at like Walmart or something. I put them on, and then I just stood there. I found out I don't have balance so no skating for me. Should have seen it coming as I could never ice skate either Posted Image I'd love to know how though since my husband is AWESOME at it.

Good luck with packing the pan :P Posted Image

See, I used to figure skate - that's the crappy part! I WANT to blade, but wow...and did you do the funny "walking" in your blades? That's just goofy looking -and it's how I go :) Has he tried to teach you?

LOL oh I have the pan planned out! I have two nearly identical suitcases. I will line each with a towel, then place one half of the roaster inside, then fill with other towels and bedding. Voila! :D Oh yeah, I have to sell my backpacking bookbag too...somehow I don't think I'll be allowed to ship 5 suitcases on the plane with me...
