Sus; TL where you at. Show me how to do this.

OMG.......You are the Acid Queen from Tommy. Love it, Tre.

I want to post it so that ya'll can see it better...but mi no know how fi do dat.

NIICCCEEEE Tre..girl it must have been down your back when u pressed it. how ya keep it so healthy.. my likkle girl has curly hair that "afros up"well (no such word I know) so I won't put a perm on hers like my oldest , but it always looks dry.. I try the shea butter, moisturizer, Sheen spray but it still looks so DRY. I always end up just plaiting it up or the faithful afro puff for days on end.

Dancehallquana, I use olive oil on my hair, it keeps from being dry. I can't use regular hair oil on my hair either.

Roxcie

I use it too

DHQ you should put some olive oil on her hair while its wet,

that will help you comb it out as well as lock in moisture.

Which in turn will also keep it from looking so dry.

Is this regular ole olive oil? My hair is always so dry at the ends and I want something to help hold in the moisture.

Claire, it the regular olive oil at the local grocery store.

Hi all its me Journee. I owned hair salons for years <thats my side hustle now>:) and one thing we used that really works well on "Multi Ethnic" hair is a product call "Curly Pudding". My sister and brother are "Bi Racial" and my sister uses it on her hair. She has a " Awfull dry sand red cotton ball" on her head if she doesnt!!!

You will have to order it off the internet from New York. But it is the best. It will allow her hair to have the "Natural Curl/kink" without the dry frizzies. IT MAKES THE HAIR LOOK SOOO PRETTY! I warn you it is a bit expensive . But it is worth every dime and the product lasts a long time.
You can even use this stuff on straight hair and it will make it curl with out applying a chemical. <Hell I sound like a commercial!> I perm my hair faithfully. But when I am not rockin a weave or extremly straight. I put this product in my hair and it curls right up. <I love their Baby Buttercreme for my daughters hair.

They need to send me my dayum commission check!!

This year was brutal.

What do you tell him about the summer? I used to tell Andre it was hotter and colder in St. Louis then anything he has ever experienced. He didn't believe me. He reminds me from time to time that I was right.

I told Noel, Summer in St. Louis is Hott ### hell. Far hotter than Ja. And Winter is not a bad time to consider saving money so we can visit Ja. ALOTT!!!

Try tofu, he wont even really know the difference. You can do soem interesting things with it. Steam some spinach, garlic a little butter and some seasoning. It will look extra green in the skillet and smell good. Add that with a Tilapia and maybe a mashed potatoe. My SO makes mashed potatoes like this and they are delicious. Peel and boil the potatoes. Take a tablespoon of mayonaise <helmans> and 1 can of whole kernal sweet corn and mix it all up. If not creamy enough add more mayo. Rastas love this #### if you do it right.

Hey Everyone!

I miss you guys. Adjustment is work like all the Vets said. I'm consumed with trying to get the wedding all set for 8/30. We will be having a small ceremony at the house.

We are having so much fun. We are watching movies and taking long walks with the dog and just talking and laughing. The other stuff is also the bomb too. devil.gif

So yesterday we were talking about the air conditioner again! He said the comforter (not thick at all mind you) is too heavy and he likes to just sleep with a sheet like back home. Well, I like to sleep cold as a polar bear under the comforter. So we compromised and turned the air down to 78-79. I get up this morning sweating like I'd been running on the tread mill in my dreams. It turns out while I'm asleep Dwayne turned the air down to 85! WTH. That is heat inna di heat!

VETS, I need some advise on the cooking and introduction to American food. What did your husband's like when they first came over? I've tried meatloaf and spagetti, my fish was too garlicy, and an omelet for breakfast. He has cooked every other meal for us traditional Jamaican. I'm not complaining but there is only so much boiled dumplings and rice and peas meals I can take. I want to add variety to the menu.

Girl, I have to tell you that I am dreading when Mike comes up. He is vegetarian and only eats fish for a protein source. I love me some meat and I know it is going to be a challenge for me to fix his meals. He keeps telling me that he will cook for himself and I say yeah, for how long. You know how they get. I too have been thinking about when Steve gets his approval and gets here. He said, no eggs, beef, pork, etc. Something about being Rasta. He will only eat fish and chicken. I don't eat fish at all, hate it! And my kids will hate me if I only cook chicken. Only so much chicken one person can take, ya know?

OMG I wish you luck with the Rasta life style. I'm sure he will cook for you guys but like you said the kids have to be pleased also. It looks like there may be two meals prepared at your home. I guess if you think about it it's no different than when one person is on a diet or has medical needs requiring them to eat or not eat certain foods. We do what we have to do huh

Sry to butt in but!!! My ex hubby is a rasta and devout vegan <so are our children smile.gif But I love MEAT!>and there are alot of thing to prepare besides Fish and Chicken. Home made pizzas, w/ artichokes <most time if prepared correctly they will have the consistency of meat with no bitter taste> Try different types of rices basmati, jasmine <add strawberrys and a little garlic serve w/ garlic crusted broiledfish on top> try adding broccoli and cheese to the rice some times when you serve fish! There is an ocean of fish. Try a good variety. Limit your self to only preparing fish 2x a week.

Also consider Pasta Dinners <homemade of course, make a meat of your choice for you and the kids, add tuna to the pasta for him). If you want more indepth recipes pm me and I will send you a few. Its going to take a while for him to change his eating <and food preparation habits> but at least if you make different varieties he will be "winged" off or at least opened to something new.

Try Gyros, Fish Burritos, make a community side dishes for your kids and your self and make fish and chicken for him. Eventually he will try what you all are eating.

Got another question.........As far as my SO and getting his birth record (certificate), how many will we actually need? Can we photocopy it or does it need to be origional/certified copy?

And in regards to the person who posted yesterday or the day before about the ID taking so long to correct....my SO went yesterday and they said he would get it in January! What a joke! Good thing we are not applying for the K-1 until late January/early February!

I did ask him if he knew what the RGD was and he did not. So, my next question is, is anyone familiar with Lucea? We went there and got his birth record from a place called Bowers Agency. They seem to do a lot of things there birth record, passport, marriage, etc. Would that be the RGD?

Boy I am full of wuestions this morning. My mind goes a mile a minute and sometimes when I open my mouth/keyboard, it all comes at once!

Thanks

Im familiar with Lucea. Whats your question?

Hey guys...don't mean to rain on everybody's parade, but I was reading back a few pages and a topic that is very real to me came up, and honestly, a lot of your answers have surprised me. The topic was what would you do if you were faced with a 3 year ban. I saw several folks say that they probably wouldn't do a LDR for 3 years...well...quite honestly, that puzzles me a bit. For this reason only: everyone up here is either wanting to marry or already married. We've all found people that we say we will pledge our love to forever. That we will stand by our SO's side in good times and bad, yadayadayada. I've definitely learned that life will definitely throw you curve balls, and no matter how well you plan your life and what kind of decisions you make, things may not always go as we would like. Does that mean that we abandon our dreams, our desires, what we believe to be ordained and blessed by God? In my opinion (and I stress, this is just my opinion), I would say I hope not. What happens when you'fre living together as man and wife and you go through a dfficult spell...as many marriages do...that can't be fixed in a month, or 2, or hell even 8? Do you leave, or do you fight for what you believe to be right and good? I feel so passionately about this because the 3 year ban was imposed upon us because my fiance (now my husband) admitted that he had smoked months earlier (his blood tests and drug tests came back clean). At that moment is seemed that our lives were over, and for a while, I'm not even going to lie, I felt like I wouldn't be able to do it. I went back and forth with what being in this relationship would mean from that moment foward, because the whole scope of it had changed. I made a deliberate, and prayerful decision to continue in this relationship because I truly believed that he was the man that God had created for me. And while I resented him for a long time, we eventually worked through it, and I promise you that I could not be happier. This time apart has truly given us time to grow as people and as a couple. We have truly had time to think about what it is we truly want from this each other, this relationship, for our lives. I think when we were doing the K1, we got swept up in everything that was going on==it occurred so quickly (6 months from start to finish). We married nearly a year later. Now, our time for re-filing will be coming up soon. And we are much more focused, and more prepared. I believe that God definitely had a plan for us, and trust me when I say that as a result of what happened to us, I definitely had to learn that I would learn to follow HIS plan--not my own. We have put everything in God's hands, and I believe that we will be blessed this time around. I originally considered moving down to JA after the denial first occurred, but after talking over everything and trying to plan for our future we decided that it would be better if I stayed here. So, we do our best, like everyone else, to make the most of our visits and phone calls. We're hopeful about our future, and we appreciate and feel so much better about one another as spouses. I pray that no one ever has to experience what we had to---but if it came to the worse, I hope that you all would not abandon the ones that you love so dearly because things did not occur as we hoped they would. I know this was a long post guys, but I had to speak what was on my heart. Everyone up here has given me so much strength and encouragement, whether you know it or not...that's why I have continued to come back. Now, I want 2 enjoy all of these videos, so talk to you soon!

Love you,
Tamisha

I dont know exactly a LDRis. But if it means giving up. Aint no dayum way! Dont you all know they want us to give up. I have had some really good relationships. I get stopped each time I go back because I go just about every month <chartered flights from Stl are very affordable>. So when you put on the immigration form that you have traveled within 6 weeks/ months they mark it in red. And when you get to the customs exit and hand the the form to the final officer. They automatically send you over to customs to search your bag for iteMs you may want to leave in Ja. SO THEY CAN CHARGE YOU CAUSE THEY HATIN!!! in the event you have questions on how to avoind payin send me a pm. I am not conspiring to break no laws in public lol

Um, what??????? Don't they have to keep track of that stuff in case they have to issue you an interest statement or something? What bank doesn't keep track of every stupid little thing?

That's why we love you JG - you are so daym reasonable!! They do pay me a couple pennies every month so there must be an interest statement but I'm figuring there is no magic button they can just push to get that #. That's why I figured I would have to go in and talk to someone who MIGHT know what they are doing.

I would think then that they will issue you a 1099 or whatever it is called for yearly interest calculations and they MUST keep track of the entire year. Someone is too lazy to do it for you is all.

Rams games are on the list
Free stuff like the Zoo, the Science Center, the Arch

We love to go the the Mills and play games all afternoon

And, lately we've been gathering the neighbors for some beer, bbq, and a few games of washers.

such an exciting life (exciting is a nice word for CRAZY!) But I am blessed I have help!

Noel is from Orange Bay but lives and works in Negril <He Owns a jet skis on the beach> I would post a few pics but I am not sure how to.

Wow - a whole month!! You are lucky. Who takes care of your daughter while you are gone?

My daughter (she's 6) told me she had a nightmare that I went to Jamaica for 89 days. I thought that would be a dream for me, not a nightmare!!

Ha............

I had a girl tell me she had a dream when Andre naturalized, he dumped me for his wife back home.

I said that's okay, I had a dream my MIL was swept out to sea by a hurricane. innocent.gif

My exhusband and I didnt have a bad break and are on really good terms. We adopted 4 children (3 boys and a girl) My daughter lives with me. My bois are with their Dad. So whenever I go to Ja, daughter will stay with her Dad. Most times when I am in the US all 4 are with me their lives 5mins away.

My Mom and both my Brother and my Sister (lives with me now) pitches in. My entire family has been to Ja and met Noel so that helps with their "impression" of my traveling back and forth.

My brian is a little (well, a LOT messed up this week)...PM Sunny or IslandWoman this is all fresh in their heads...plus you have the K-1 vets JG, Gill, TNW (who else am I missing?) I think those are the K-1 folks. We support each other as you'll see, but we love to pick and fight with each other from time to time (ALL in FUN).

Proverty guideline - you have to make a certain amount of money when you're filing for your fiance (if you don't meet that guideline) then you can use a co-sponsor...mi no know weh di link deh.

Blue slip - if you're missing information they'll give you a blue slip after the interview and tell you to come back on another date.

Journee.....at the top of the threads....the very top....are tabs. Click on the guidelines. It's all written for you. The poverty guidelines should be there.

If you get confused, we will gladly help you through. Just ask.

JG, bare with me girl, you know this all new to me. Hey far as the saturdays go, one can only hope right...LOL

In Honey's defense, VSC works (or at least was) weekends as some approvals spit out on Sundays....but not the embassy. You're going to have to take vacation time for that Honey!

Do you think they really do or the system just uploads then?

JG;

FEDEX wants to tell me that the package was damaged when it was picked up...my mailroom said no way they would have sent a package out like that. I told them I want my FRIGGIN money back....

I found my check...I can't even tell what was written on it, because it is wet and stuck to the inside of the packet.

Go up Up UP the food chain till you speak to someone who can help you. If no one does, file a BBB report. That usually sparks some interest in fixing it. Tell them there is no way someone ran over it in the mailroom and to stop covering their a$$e$!

Kimmy;

If mi didn't love you...you would be getting this headbonk.gif ...... thanks for the support girl

Journee as far as money in your bank account - as long as you meet the poverty guidelines you're fine. For some reason, they didn't ask me for anything to back up my affidavit of support other than my 2007 taxes and W-2 (don't know why)...I was just glad to get the hell out of there. My friend is being interviewed today on her K-1 and I can't wait to hear from her. She's missing a few documents, so I told her to be prepared to get a blue slip.

Okay I may sound stupid ### hell but what is "The poverty guidlines"? and a blue slip?
