Also, mine was a K1/K2 case, so do I need to file or print a separate form for my son's ROC? Or mine will suffice since he will be listed under my application?

IndiaChanging Passport--Original Marriage Certificate Requested
I'm facing the same issue. I wanted to update my passport with my married name and was sent back a letter that they need our original marriage certificate. I was trying to get this done within a year of when I originally got my passport so it would be free. Unfortunately, my original marriage certificate is now with NVC. Sorry, I don't have an answer for questions 2 & 3, but I'm in the same boat so I'm curious of the responses.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUpdate your timelines....Please!!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement.  I do understand that it will go to my local field office for processing.  I was just feeling down today.  I also know that I am still pretty early in the processing. I'm almost to 3 months in.   My file is still showing the last touch was May 2nd at USCIS.  And of course, my local office doesn't show any kind of timelines for the I-130.  I was just getting discouraged because I have been following the March and April filers and no one seems to be getting much movement.  We have a work at home program at my job and I work from home 3 days a week, in the office 2.  I was joking (kinda) with my boss and asked him if I could work at home full time.....from Africa.  He said he'd check into that for me (jokingly of course).  It was sure a nice thought though.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUpdate your timelines....Please!!!

I know that in every forum I read, people are saying "update your timelines".  I just am feeling frustrated today so thought I would post a reminder.  When I started this process and joined VisaJourney (I'm filing the I-130 to bring my husband, April filer), my timeline showed and estimate from July 17 - August 5.  Today, when I looked....it's now all the way back to September 29 - November 2.  It is so discouraging!  crying.gif   I understand that the members here are just a small portion of all the petitions and that if the timelines don't get updated it screws with the estimates.

SOOOOO....Update your timelines.....I need some encouragement right now.  Missing my hubby.

congratulations....tell me did you get any checklist or no ?

Yes, I got a checklist on November 8th for leaving the permanent address field blank since it wasn't different from the mailing address. NVC received the new forms on November 14th. I'll say it again...don't leave anything blank.

Do you have any clue for which fields you have to enter "N/A" in AOS Package?

As i guess there is one field Alien Number but i don't know any other requires "N/A"?

For me, I got a checklist for leaving a field blank on the I-864EZ.  In part 3, line 8 it asks for your mailing address.  Then line 9 asks for your place of residence if different than your mailing address.  Since it was the same I left it blank.  So I had to redo the form and resubmit it.  This time I just put the same address in that field so that it wasn't blank.  So frustrated that it will set us back another month!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - November 2013

Beginning October I sent my AOS package, and last week they told me that I need to fill out a new I-184ez out, because I left part 3 blank where it asks for residence address IF DIFFERENT than mailing address. Well, since  the address is the same I didn't fill it out, so anyhow I filled out new I-184 form out and mailed it right away last week, so my question is am I going to wait now again up to 30 days because of this or is going to go little faster this time???? Anybody had this happen to them???

I got a checklist for the same thing on November 8th which was a Friday.  So I filled the form out again and overnighted it back on Saturday, but the following Monday was a holiday - so they didn't receive my new form until Tuesday November 12th.  I did the same thing and am kicking myself now knowing that is going to delay us some.  I thought it was a bit ridiculous since it says IF DIFFERENT.  I've read through this and seen that this has happened to several of us.  Anyone that asks me for help now, I am constantly saying...don't leave anything blank!  So back to the waiting game.  When did you resubmit?

@slvrfx, unfortunately USCIS is not funded by the government. It is funded by the fees they collect from us. Our Senators and Congressmen can only inquire on our behalf. I'm not saying it isn't a viable option, it just seems like they are getting the same response we are getting. No one seems to be able to really make any difference based on our complaints. Does anyone know who is running USCIS...maybe that's who we need to start flooding with complaints. Nit that it would do any good. Sorry, feeling kinda helpless today.

Sorry, I was going to add my case complete back to the list, it disappeared.  But I couldn't figure it out and didn't want to mess it up.  Can you please add me back on?  I got case complete on 12/9/13.  Still waiting for an interview date.

Thanks!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)HELP!! Need Advice about NVC!!

Just to confirm the Receipt number is actually on the NOA notice -- which we have already (NOA2 age is 17 days) its looking like 30-35 days now to process

So all we need to do is :

1) Obtain NVC case number  - verbally

2) Check on CEAC website for the status or that case has been entered in system

3) Print out the status

4) Now schedule ST Lukes

5) We can schedule Interview after st Luke is complete

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCEAC Confirmation Letter

So following this thread.  Can I assume that ONCE DS160 is completed online this will trigger the

ability to monitor the MNL number via CEAC?

I'm guessing when you complete DS160 you are issued the MNL number?

Or is that number the result of the NVC receipt?

In any case the MNL number is the ONLY number tracked by CEAC -- not the USCIS case number.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportshow to print chat conversation for my interview at USEM

Yes, I did the same filtered all the chats in Yahoo mail and snapped a log.

By the way I have seen posts by others complaining how difficult it is to print chats in skype.

However in Yahoo if you enter @Chat@ in the email search field you can get access to you old

Yahoo Messenger chats.

I think a listing of chats to show continuity is fine.  We included selected emails in the packet between

fiance and my family and of course myself.  Probably no more than 5-10 emails.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusRegistering a homestay tourist visa in Krasnoyyarsk
seanconneryii, first off, I also want to wish you a very safe and pleasant trip to Russia and lots of luck with everything! good.gif Second, actually I don't think you have to worry about your "tourist" visa and its registration at any hotel (where you're not gonna stay anyway, as far as I understood), my husband-to-be came to Russia on the same "tourist" visa (I was just really busy at the time to deal with all that invitation stuff) and he stayed with me of course, there was no problem whatsoever to register him at the local OVIR office (and the whole waiting thing wasn't that bad either), they didn't even seem to care that he had come on a "tourist" visa but was going to stay with me - not a word was said about it! I also know a couple of my friends who did the same, that is, coming to Russia on a tourist visa and not staying at the hotel - they were registered without any problem at the OVIR, of course they had to bring with them the person they were staying with. So I'm sure you're gonna be just fine.

Also, your fiancee doesn't have to apply to ZAGS prior your coming, as a matter of fact this is pretty much the only "benefit" of sorts you're gonna get from marrying a Russian - so called "waiting period" doesn't apply to foreigners marrying in Russia - you can go there together and apply together provided you have all the necessary papers with you because this is very important (my husband actually forgot to bring with him a certain document, and we had to ask his brother to send it to us ASAP). Usually (and we were told it was a common practice), you show them your tickets (even if you have plenty of time ahead), and they let you choose the date of your marriage (they will give you several options at least). I don't know about now, because that's how it was 4 years ago when we were getting married in Russia.

Last, you don't have to register with the US Embassy either, your marriage is gonna be valid in the US as well, all you have to do is get an apostille on your marriage certificate (ask about it at your fiancee's local ZAGS office).

P.S. I actually found some info in my old notebook - not much, but still something. Here's the phone number in Tomsk, maybe you can try calling it - 54-11-50 (that's the number I was given by those people to call and inquire about my "case" if I didn't hear from them within a week or so, usually they'd call you and tell you when to come and pick up your police certificate, but sometimes you just have to call them yourself), there's also some sort of "name" next to this number - "??????????? ?????". Hopefully it'll be of some use.

plz, ignore this one, I gave you the wrong number, sorry. unsure.gif

So, is there an Information Center for Internal Affairs or something like that in all major cities where the police certificate can be obtained? Tomsk is too far from Moscow, and I believe that someone said it's not necessary to go to Moscow. If there isn't a place in her city, can she request one from Moscow by post or by fax? Thanks in advance!

I'm from Tomsk rolleyes.gif , so I can tell you for sure that you can obtain the police certificate right there in Tomsk wink.gif , that is. Darn, I can't remember the address of that place right out of hand (it's been more than three years since I got mine), but it's in the vicinity of the railway station (looks like a police station of sort, but I can't recall its name now) - it took me about a week to get one.
