US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAfter Embassy in Paris received notice of readiness

I don't know if you got more news since that post but if it can help you I sent my P3 package on july 15th and i received p4 stating my interview date is going to be august 18th.

Yes Bruno,
Thanks for your reply. I received my appointment letter and I am going to meet you at the Embassy since my appointment is on the 18th too! In fact my case has been expedited by USCIS and NVC (Filing on 03/03/10. NVC approval on the 06/11/10) and the Embassy did not take the expedite request into account so they have received the file from NVC on the 18 and took the usual two months processing time....
So Bruno: Ready for the wedding?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAfter Embassy in Paris received notice of readiness
Hi Again!
Thank you to all of you but the links are providing time for non immigrant visas and K1 visa is being processed differently, following what is said on the US department of state, "Nonimmigrant Visa wait time DOES NOT include K or V visa applications, which are processed similar to immigrant visas.".....

The K1 processing time is giving the time that is necessary for the whole process at the embassy to occur....

But NOT the time necessary once the Notice of readiness has been received by the Embassy to get the appointment date.

Hi everybody!

I am a little bit worried since the Embassy in Paris does not seem to pay attention to expedite processing that has already been granted.... Anybody could tell me what is the "average" time there is between the reception of Notice of readiness by the US embassy in Paris and the appointment?
Thank you in advance.

Yes. I am happy someone in same boat with me. I don't want to wait another 3 months for them to hand back visa. When we call Department of State, they say visa has been issued but still no one has called us to pick up visa.

My story is similar. You need to get a PCC from the countries where you stayed for more than 12 months in a row. Start by calling the main police office in the city where you stayed or write emails

National Visa Center (Dept of State)HOW TO TRACK YOUR CASE FROM NVC TO EMBASSY

I was told by NVC that my expedited case was sent June 13, 2014. I have checked EVERY SINGLE DAY of this month so far and nothing has been sent to Cairo, Egypt. Anyone have any suggestions?

Since its an expedite case, could it possibly been sent via electronic?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEgyptian Ministry of Interior asks neighbors about husband??

hello there...

Now the embassy sent someone to my husbands home 2 days after his first interview, an investigator that possed as a DHL rep on the phone when he called and my husbands sister answered the phone.

i called Dept of state and they said the embassy will do what they have to so to check on everything, basically making sure the man is not living with anyone...lol.

Well it's good to know that I'm not alone in this case then. My husband was not at the time of the investigations, he was at work. The only person he lives with is his parents. Interesting that they do such a thing, but I completely understand and appreciate them doing this because it helps unclog the system (those of fraud).

Just talked to the NVC and they still apparently have our case in their office. Maybe because my husband went to the US Embassy last week to try to talk to someone in person to get things moving (before our expedite was granted)? I'm just exploring all options at this time.

I truly hope it is what you're saying Ning

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEgyptian Ministry of Interior asks neighbors about husband??
Okay, I have a good one for y'all and looking for opinions please. 3 days ago (Monday), our request for an expedite through the NVC was approved after sending in 5 different medical records showing the emergent necessity. Well apparently some people from the Ministry of Interior came to my husband's apartment building today and asked many people about my husband's character. His neighbors replied that no he is a good man, he doesn't start trouble/fights, etc. So my question, is this a regular practice in Egypt or elsewhere? To have an agency scout out potential candidates for a US visa be thoroughly checked out. I just never heard of such a thing!

Currently we are now waiting on an interview date and time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello all, I have a quick question. My husband went for his interview last Tuesday (07/22) at the US Embassy in Cairo. All of this past week it has shown "Ready". When by chance tonight I checked the ceac.state.gov website, it shows "Administrative Processing". Our case is an EXPEDITE, so please keep this in mind when replying. Any and all opinions welcome. Thank you in advance

PLEASE tell him to be there EARLY!!! Tell him to leave the house now! He should be there at 6:30 am because the line is LONG. I didn't tell you but my husband cut the line, lol. Too many adults with small children, so he jumped it to get in.

He'll be fine...don't worry :)

Just a quick question. Our case was approved for an expedite through the NVC stage. Our paperwork was sent June 13th and received June 16th. When shall we expect to receive a notice from the US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt? Will it be electronic (email) or via snail mail? And expedited cases vary in appointment times correct? Could be as little as 3 weeks or a few months correct, even for an expedite?

Thank you in advance!

First, Congratulations!  Your waiting is finally over!!  But I have a couple of questions

Once you pay Domex after your interview, how long is the wait to actually receive your visa?  Also, how quickly can you buy an airline ticket after approval?  Once you've been approved at the intervieaw?  Once you've paid Domex?  Or, once you have your visa in your hand?

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusGoing back to Russia to renew a passport
I have spoke to the people here in San Francisco regarding this issue the solution is as follows:
1. Have your original marriage certificate appostiled at the secretary of state.
2. Translate appostile and marriage certificate into Russian.
3. Pay consulate to have them certify it and put into one document good in Russia.
4. Remove consulate registration.
5. Now go to Russia to the place where they make internal passports.
6. Get registered / propiska in the local Russian area.
7. Change the internal passport name using the Russian consulate approved marriage certificate.
8. With the new Russian internal passport go and make the external passport in new married name.

The spouse or any immediate relative of a US citizen receives a pardon from the USCIS regardless of how they entered.
not completely true, if you entered without inspection (EWI) you are not "pardoned" upon marriage or being an immediate relative to a USC
And even that is not completely true. If you had a pending immigrant petition prior to April 30, 2001 but were in the country illegally, i.e. entered without inspection you still can get that pardon through 245i.
http://***removed***/gc/life245.html
Also if you have been here illegally since 1972 you can get adjustment of status through registration.
http://law.justia.co...1.0.1.2.42.html
Filing a asylum within a year of illegal entry works too. But it must be granted. Nothing to do with marriage.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusOverstay of student Visa
If the over staying alien is still in the US and married the USC citizen and applied for his green card, the over stay will be forgiven along with any unauthorized employment. If the over staying alien left the country we need to know how long he over stayed. Plus with student visas they have a Duration of Status rather than an I-94 so it will be harder to track. Let us know.

Guys! I was not talking about calling Russian landlines via skype, I was talking about using skype to call from computer to computer! Its free and you can look at each other, that's how I talk to my parents yes.gif
And Russ, Neonred, and I have been trying to explain to you that interest is too expensive or high speed is not available in many parts of Russia to make PC to PC work. Thus in my example doing PC to PC would cost almost a $1.00 a minute if you calculate the interest cost on the Russian side.

Why don’t you guys use Skype? All you have to do is to download this program to your computer and get a web camera, its free and you'll be able to see person you're talking with good.gif
I would love to Skype or even use Voipcheap in reverse, meaning they call a US number from Russia. But my relatives do not have high speed interest, as a matter of fact there are no copper, fiber optic, or cable wires at their home, yet they live just a few kilometers from the city center. Because of that internet is not possible. They have interest access only through a cell phone tethered to the computer as a modem, and that runs $0.22 a MG, which is both very slow and costly if used with Skype or any other PC to PC program.

Both Voipcheap and InternetFree have changed their rates from Free to 0.020 for landlines to Russia. Still Free for Moscow and St. Petersburg. This royally sucks. Anyone know any other VOIP service that is free to landlines to Russia.

Russia, Ukraine and Belarusinterview in moscow
To answer your denial question.

You get denied for the following reasons:

1. Failure to provide required documents pre interview.

2. Failure to prove relationship via requested documents post interview or provide any additional documents post interview.

3. Failure to pass background check.

4. Failure to pass medical exam.

5. Failure to provide sufficient proof of ability to support your fiancée or spouse.

If you are denied for these reasons you should really reconsider your relationship with this person as you will have troubles in the future for a bunch of different reasons ranging from financial to medical.

I am not sure how they do things in the Ukraine, but in Moscow, if you try to call in months before your scheduled interview date, they will tell you to schedule when the date is much closer, say a couple of weeks away.

You don't really need one if you can memorize the location of the letters. As long as you activate a Russian Keyboard in language settings you can switch from English to Russian without changing your keyboard.

Reminds me of when I was on the bus one time. The conductor was going around collecting the 14 ruble fee, and I had exactly 14 rubles in change, so for once I wasn't going to have to make them break a 50, which normally gets you a severe glaring at. So she comes over to me, and I pull the pre-counted change and...immediately drop most of them onto the floor of the very crowded bus. Without missing a beat I handed her a 50.
I actually managed a few free rides by pulling at 1000 ruble bill on the public transit because the ticket issuer did not have the change tongue.gif But boy have prices gone up, it was 3 RU in 2003 and 4 RU in 2004 for the same bus. Still better than 1.50 which would be something like 45 RU on MUNI in San Francisco.

QUOTE (kc456 @ Apr 10 2008, 08:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I believe the Russian consulate requires proof of legal status in the US. if PR card the way to prove someone is here legally, she'll need to have a copy of it. I don't think the consulate will go ahead and renew without the card, unless she has some other documentation to support her status.
Well I ask again, do you really think the consulate will not renew a passport for its own citizens, which is the only way he or she can return to Russia? What if she has yet to receive her green card? No renewal? I disagree. She can show her K1 from back in the day and claim she has no green card. I know they wont register without a green card. Thus someone stuck in say an AOS background check would be stuck indefinitely in the US? Makes no sense to me.
