USCIS has a worksheet that you can answer to check your eligibility. It's at point #3 http://www.uscis.gov...ply-citizenship

When did you get your 2 year GC? You can apply if you have also been a LPR for 3 years, not just having been married 3 years. You can't bypass ROC, but if your ROC is still pending and you are already eligible for n400, then you can apply. Hope that makes sense

I thought if not married to a US citizen, an LPR needs to wait for 5 years?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHow many of you had to interview again?
I had my interview on July 30,and the interview felt like it was just a formality. The questions they asked just when we met, how me met, and she asked about our pictures. That's basically it. We received our approval letter today, two days after the interview.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionReceived RFE (Help)

opps I forgot to add those holiday and invitation cards, yes we even sent the originals at first, I'm glad there's some more left. Yes we did wrote something on back of every photos we sent. I made copies of bank statements for every 3 months. we opened joint bank account after 9 months of our marriage since my wife didn't have a job the first year she lived here, hope there was nothing wrong with that.

My spouse added me in her account 12 months after we got married - because I started going to school, started to do house errands, got my DL etc etc. We didn't have any problem, even during our interview for ROC. All the IO asked regarding our bank statement is to give her the latest statement during our interview. Were were approved.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHas anyone ever received 2 letters for biometrics for I-751?

the only other explanation I can think of is if the prints did not read correctly and they want to try again. Sorry this happened to you :(

I was thinking this, too. Like the above poster said, try to call Tier 2 officer.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 August 2014 Filers

So, I like to talk to other people before I file and make sure I have everything needed. Because I triple check things and because hubby isn't here to check them again. I have my cover letter, 751 form, check, copy of green card and evidence as follows:

I have cards for us from my side of the family and his and holiday cards from friends, 4 total.
Mail coming to our home for him and I, these are bills, but because we can't have two people on them I have seperate ones showing my name and his name with same address. Also something from his current job too for benefits.
Copy of his driving paperwork with address on it.
Copy of health insurance card showing him and I on it together.
Letter/w2 copy for past years taxes.

Do you think this is enough ? We are also currently pregnant with out first child but I never thought to get something proving this if they need it. Thank you for reading and if you would like me to move this to a different thread I can !

I'd include copies of DL showing shared address, too, if you have them. During my interview, the IO had asked for it so she could make copies of them. I already included our DL copies in our paperwork, but she asked for it again for some reason.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionSample Cover Letter, Submission Documents, Organization
I'm indifferent about how people want to organize their applications as long as they have complete paperwork, that's what matters. On a different note, I don't think how fast people get approved has anything to do with people's way of organizing their paperwork.

Hello Everyone, I just want to check in and update you all.
I received a RFE on August 11th and responded to it on September 5th

Today I received an email and text message that my card is in production. Words cannot explain how i am feeling right now. I was told that i would be denied because i got divorced. I gave my marriage my all and refused to stay when my husband cheated and had a baby by another woman.

A big thank you to everyone who offered their support and kind words of encouragement. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting.

I'm happy for you!

Congratulations!!! :)

I've read somewhere on VJ that when you change your address, you get a RFE. Is this true?

I changed my address earlier this month with USCIS and received a RFE in the mail a few days ago. My online status in still I'm "initial review" so luckily I checked my mailbox.

The RFE asks for joint documents to show that the marriage was entered in good faith. They asked for 4 things in particular and I already sent in 2 of what they asked for. They asked for a lease and birth certificate of children. We didn't have a lease and we don't have kids
In my response, I will explain the reason for not having a lease but I will include several other joint documents that I didn't send with my original package.

Wish me luck guys! I will mail everything back to them one day next week.
Congrats to everyone who has been approved!!!
What the hell is going in with VSC?!!

Good luck! I saw a lot of VSC Feb filers are getting approved. They're moving and that's good. :)

I know, to be honest I would not trust when they talk about timing, they cannot really tell for sure, but what you know now is that you have been approved, so congrats!

She didn't make any decisions, but there's a talk about 'if you are approved'. Looking at how unreliable and not up-to-date online case status is, I'm going to stop torturing myself, lol. Not going to check it on every hour of the day.

And thanks! :)

ConvertsFemale02014-08-01 09:04:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 May 2014 Filers

It usually takes 2 weeks after the interviews for them to give any update

IO said she's going to make a decision at the end of that day, that's why I assumed that I might be able to check my status online, just like when we were in AOS stage. So, I think it's either they haven't updated it, or the case status online is unreliable.

I thought they told you there and then, that sucks having to wait AGAIN

I thought so, too! It is suck to have to wait again.

Day 1 and my online case status is still at Initial Review. Maybe I'm too impatient. There's a possibility that the IO didn't update my case online.

When we finished the interview, she did talk about if we got approved, I will have to wait up to 3 months for my GC because she needs to send my ROC package back to CSC in Laguna Niguel, and if it's beyond processing period, I should make an infopass. So, is that a good sign? This is getting too intense, lol.

ConvertsFemale02014-07-31 17:40:00

Thanks, everyone.

We spent around 10 - 15 mins for the interview. The IO didn't make any decisions after the interview was finished, but she told us that she will have the decision at the end of today. Which we are hoping it's true. I've been checking online for every hour now, but they still hasn't updated my case status.

Here are basically what happened at the interview:

We were called to the office and took an oath. The IO asked me questions to confirm about my information on the I751 form, as well as my significant other. She then asked for our latest bank statement, we gave her our ammended tax return we just got that morning. She also asked for our motorcycle titles (we already provided this in our packet), and our current lease agreement for our house. She asked for our passports, healthcare insurance cards, and our DLs so she can make copies of them. After that, she proceeded to ask about how we met, when we met, my significant other's trip to my home country, questions about the pictures we provided, and about our occupations.

I think that's basically it, she didn't raise any issues or questions about our application that need to be addressed. She asked if I have new documents I want to submit and I gave her a new Affidavit of Bona-fide Marriage from my sister-in-law, pay stubs, verification of employment letters, and my spouse's work benefits that stated me as beneficiary. It did feel like the interview is just for formality, but we'll see.

Thanks again for the wish, guys.

Hi,

Question. Since those of us who are with CURRENT fingerprints alreay paid the 590 bucks for "biometrics fee" but won't need to do these again , are we entitled for a refund??

Biometric fee is $85,and no, I don't think they'll give a refund.

ALL I WANT TO SAY IS THAT YOU DONT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING AS LONG AS YOU ARE TELLING THE TRUTH THATS ALL THEY ARE AFTER , ALL THE DOCUMENTS YOU HAVE PROVE EXACTLY THAT YOU ARE GOING TO BE JUST FINE ! JUST GOT TO KEEP PLAYING THE WAITING GAME!

It's hard not to worry. But you're right, as long as we're telling the truth, everything is going to be fine. Thanks!

Looks really good Converts,i would recommend taking at least one bank statement from each quarter for the 2 year period

Okay, I will do that. Thanks, Twinspits!

Your list is awesome!
This might seem obvious but carry your green card with you at the interview and also keep a copy just in case. Since you have an interview, bring more than 2 months/year statements. Bring them all if you can. I don't think a letter from the property management is necessary when you have a lease showing you together but that's up to you. In case you don't get the letter, don't worry. Bring copies of the two affidavits that you already sent in your initial application, just in case. Also, tax transcripts are better than tax returns. Tax transcripts are available for free online on the iRS website.  Best of luck!

Thanks, Happy Chic!

Hi,
So, since our interview is going to be in less than 2 weeks, I need to compile evidences again, and some of them are new-ish. Could you check my list and see if I need anything else:

1. Tax return 2011, 2012, 2013.
2. W2 2011,2012,2013.
3. Letter from the bank saying that my spouse added me in her account in 2012.
4. Joint bank statements - 2 months statements for each year since 2012.
5. Copy of our debit cards (This will show co-mingling financial if they check the bank statements.)
5. House lease - Addendum saying that my spouse added me on the lease. Also, we're going to get a letter from our property management saying that my spouse and I have been living together since I arrived here.)
6. A letter from my spouse's workplace:
a. Health insurance showing me as beneficiary.
b. Dental insurance showing me as beneficiary.
c. Vision insurance showing me as beneficiary.
d. Employment Verification with hours and salary.
7. Copy of our health care insurance card with same account number.
8. Copy of our Chase cards for HSA.
9. Copy of our driver licenses.
10.Copy of our class enrollment in one of the colleges here. (We are going to attend 2 same classes in Fall)
11. Copy of two motorcycle titles with both our names on them.
12. Copy of auto insurance with my both our names on it.
13. Photos on different occasions.
14. 401k with me as beneficiary.
15. One Affidavit of Bona-fide Marriage from my sister-in-law. (We already sent two in our application)
16. Change of name court order. (my spouse's)

And then there are usual stuff i.e birth certificates, marriage certificate etc etc.

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

Hi everyone
I had my fingerprint taken today. she took the fingerprint of all ten fingers. Did this happen with anyone?
and she told me " wait for you interview letter". Does this mean that i'll have an interview for sure?

For biometric, yeah, they took fingerprint for all ten fingers.

If you see our timeline list, interview is very rare (I am, however, one of the lucky ones). So, it's not 100% sure that you will get an interview. :)

Usually you would do biometrics before they send out an interview notice. In your case, I think they just need a new picture for your GC. When i did my bio, they told me my finger prints are current, they just needed a new photo.

Oh, yeah. It's just weird that they send the biometric letter a week after I received my interview letter.

DHS sent me another letter of biometric today, which I don't know why. They had send me one before. Now I have two biometric letter, lol. And of course with the same application number as my NOA1, so I'm still not able to track my case online. I wonder if I should talk to Tier 2,or just wait until my interview and ask the IO.

ConvertsFemale02014-07-05 16:59:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 May 2014 Filers

So you received your interview notice before you do biomtrics? They probably just need a new photo and index finger print for the GC like me...

But that's the point of biometric, right? Or is there something that I don't understand? Did you receive an interview letter, too?

ConvertsFemale02014-07-05 15:11:00

And my application number on my biometric appointment is the same with my NOA1. So, when I check my status, it said 'your case can not be found'. #######?

Or do I have to go for my biometric appointment first then I'll be able to check it?
