I SWEAR they get enjoyment out of this! Posted Image

I have gut feeling we're all still in Texas personally. This week is going to be a very OCD week!Posted Image

I'm just super worried about getting an RFE! I'm just hoping that my case has passed that point!

Nope, no touches today, but checking every five minutes now! I'm wondering whether we've all had our papers shipped to local offices, or whether we're still being dealt with at TSC, albeit in a different department..... who knows, but one thing this DOES prove. USCIS want to urgently clear the backlog. Working on a Sunday is big overtime.

Has to be good news! Posted Image

Did you get an email alert, or just a touch on the website?

It was just a touch on the website. And I, too, am curious about the whole "your case is being processed at a USCIS office" thing. So ambiguous, those people! :P

WOW...this HAS to be good!!!!!! everyone being touched are closing in on their 5 months...am I right on this....I've only checked the forum a few times because I figured there would be no action especially on a Sunday!!!!! For me this is good news.......

Did you get touched today, too? Your NOA1 is a day before mine- hope all of us July filers get our approvals in December...

Well, I got an email today as well stating that my application was being transferred to a USCIS center for processing. It is my first 'touch' since being transferred to TSC. I'm a July filer - receiving my written NOA1 on 9 July. I hope this is good news.

Does anyone know the next steps once I received the NOA2??!!

I just received that same email just now!

Once you receive your NOA2, your case will be submitted to the NVC. You will have to submit the Affidavit of Support, then the DS-230 and necessary paperwork.

Just to cheer you up, it seems not all touches are logged. When we finally got through to someone regarding our case, they informed us the internal computer showed that our case had been "touched" on 19th November. That never appeared on our online status, and still hasn't. Just because there are no touches evident to US, doesn't mean the case isn't being looked at.

Yes, you'll be wrong!

I have a gut feeling.....

Virtual hugs for everyone!!!

I suggest to everyone who is waiting to gather your information together for the next step (NVC), like the affidavit of support & DS 230 forms we will need to fill out. It's been keeping me busy and (partially) sane!

How is it possible that July filers dont get any updates? :(

I would like to believe (in my little fantastical mind) that the touches that Aug filers are getting are for steps that us July filers' cases already went through but that were never updated on the site because CSC didn't have the time nor the care to do. I'm going to stand by this belief!

Just to clarify and so everyone is on the same page, you will not receive a notice when your file is "touched". You will only receive a notice when something substantial happens, i.e. a NOA or transfer. On the USCIS website you have to "Sign-up for Case Updates". Once you register on that you can check that and see the last time it was "touched" under the "Last Updated" section. You will not receive any sort of notification if it's "touched". No email, no text, no letter in the mail, zilch, nada. I'm sure that most people on this thread are as obsessive as me on checking the case update pretty regularly. Me to the point that my wife says I'm just torturing myself, ha ha. But hey, what are you gonna do? I wanna know we're at least making progress! Hope this clarifies any confusion.

The only dates that have ever appeared for me under the "last updated" tab was when it was received and when it was transferred. Nothing after that...BUT my 5 months is up in less than a month so I will try to keep my head on straight! :P

i doubt too much work will be getting done during the holiday thanksgiving/christmas/new year period.

something i just noticed this morning as i was scanning the new receipts in (i keep backup of EVERYTHING)... did anyone else notice a change of date on theirs? my "receipt date" on the transfer notice does not match my "received date" (i.e. priority date) of original NOA1 :( perhaps gives them some extra processing time this way by making the original look rec'd later...?

Yes, I noticed that, too. My priority date on my NOA1 is 7/16 and on the transfer notice the receipt date is 7/24...
J e n n yFemaleParaguay2010-11-11 07:11:00

Got my transfer notice today. called customer service. No help really. Just that texas got petitions because california was too overwhelmed. I think I understood that there is a certain amount of employees for particular petitions and csc i-130 employees couldn't handle the inflow of applications. He said that the processing time starts from the original receipt date (doesn't start over with transfer) and that it is 5 months at csc at tsc but he assumes that the transfer to tsc should shorten the 5 month time (his guess not fact) and that the local offices probably (and should) have more information in more detail about transfers.

So basically I learned more from reading this thread. :crying: give me my husband!!!

I really hope the transfer shortens the wait! And I want my husband, too! If this whole process isn't a test of patience I don't know what is...

just clarifying that you know you wont get email on a "touch"... you will see that on the website; the date will change under "last updated".

Hmm, well I got the email on 11/3, then I went onto the site and it has 11/3/10 as the "Last Updated" date. And then when I go into the detail it has the message that it was transferred on 11/2. Is a change to the "last updated" date considered a touch?...

I posted this on the CSC to TSC thread but I thought it was important enough to post here, as well: my congressman wrote to me and said that 36,000 applications were transferred to TSC. So...something to think about. And California continues to pump out approvals for September filers! I wonder why!

Yes, ours is too - 24th July 2010.

We've also been approved for expedite for 30 days, and nothing has happened. Annoying therefore to find August filers being approved, although good luck to them. There's something not right with the system......Posted Image

I, quite frankly, don't really feel like congratulating August filers for their approvals anymore. I'm just like, "whatevs."
And Val, I would think since you have the expedite & and you did the K-3 visa then yours would be one of the cases in front of the line! But yes, the system is broken and it's a disgrace.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJuly 2010 CR-1 filers

They have by law 180 days to process your case,
Since they are behind it looks as they wont be
done at 5 months. So they have 180 days total
than you can file and inquiry to why your case
isnt approved by than.

Good Luck but it looks like were all in the same
situation, and just have to have more PATIENTS
and wait until January 2011 and than the approvals
will begin again.

Happy Holidays

I've never heard about that "180 days by law" thing- is that on the USCIS site somewhere? If it is then I could reference that if I get in touch with my senator. For me, 180 days since NOA1 would be 1/24/11...comin' up fast.
Thanks.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJuly 2010 CR-1 filers

Well, hopefully soon we will all have good news from USCIS. It seems unfair that CSC is moving forward and that August filers are being processed before those of us who filed in July. I'm trying every day to find new ways to stay positive. Like thinking about what we can control and what we can't. Since we have no control over USCIS before the 5-month mark, we have to stay strong and find the faith to believe that this will all work out sooner or later and we will eventually be with our loved ones. Just think - this will be our last Thanksgiving alone! Whoohoo! After this we will really have something to be thankful for! Wishing you a happy thanksgiving, VJers!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduressilly questions regarding the DS-230

I'm planning to have my wife's green card sent to my PO Box. I know having it sent to the PO Box is fine, however, I was wondering if it was necessary to include my name along with the PO Box address or put "in care of" in question #11 because I obviously do not live at the Post Office. I am putting "none" in question #11, my number will be in question #10.

Question #44 regarding "were you assisted in completing this form?"
Here is how it will work, my wife provides me with all relevant info and I type it in and print it. She signs the form (and writes in hand the areas of the form that are not fillable). In the literal sense, I assisted her in completing the form, however, I have searched old threads on VJ and have seen answers go both ways on how to fill in this question that there isn't a consensus if this question is to be interpreted literally or figuratively.

Thanks in advance for replies.

I put my name in as the person who helped my husband complete the form. Didn't have any problems.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP! DS-3032

Hi everyone,

We received instructions and request to send the DS-3032 form from NVC on Friday. My husband sent the email format on Sunday June 26 (from hotmail account) but he has not received anything from the NVC. (no automated confirmation of receipt). Since he also did not get any of the emails received from the NVC (AOS instructions, DS instructions, etc) I told him to create another account and re-send the DS-3032 form.

Did you guys received an automated confirmation right away after sending email? or how long did it take? I'm so afraid that they have not received our email! I have also read somewhere that sometimes NVC inbox has spam blockers for those free email domains.. could this be our case? and if so, what should we do?!

Any input will be greatly appreciated it!

Thanks again

I never got an automated confirmation after sending that email. It took a little more than 24 hours to receive word from NVC saying that they processed the DS-3032. Give it one more day. If you're really worried, mail in the paper copy.
