IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCan anyone post a sample of DS 230 that is filed by spouse

If I had my husband sign the DS 230 form today and mail it to me it would arrive here in about 30 days. So let's say that my I-130 is approved around the end of December and his mailed form arrives here at the same time. Would it look weird if the date he signed it was Nov 22, 2010, but the form is submitted to NVC in January 2011?

Rather, what is latest date that the form can be signed and still be valid?

Thanks

Nevermind!! I was way off with the shipping time estimate!
Lol

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence of Bono Marriage

I ended up sending 4 photos (wedding, birth of our baby, thanksgiving and one from 2009).
I included some of the many receipts for my ferry rides over to him. I didn't want to send ALL of them but we indicated on the cover letter that we have ALL of them if they require them.

I have every email he's ever sent and a chat history of Skype too. I hope it doesn't come to that though. I would feel a little violated.

We do have a joint bank account that we created after we got married.

We don't "share" anything else though since we (of course) do not live together. It would seem silly for him to add me to his Comcast bill or At&t in my opinion. He is however, working on adding me to his health insurance.

Thanks for all the replies to this matter :)

I sent in only a few things- photos of the ceremony, the marriage certificate and the form that the witnesses signed. I guess that's the bare minimum needed.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNervous?!?!
All I sent in were a few photos from my marriage ceremony and a copy of the marriage certificate and the form that the witnesses signed. For the interview you should gather any other evidence you think will help.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI got a NOA 1 although I only sent copy of marriage certificate.

Ok so originals for the NVC. Man, you guys know so much more than me...

You should take the time to gather your other originals, though- marriage certificate, police certificate, birth certificate- NVC wants originals of all of those documents (you get them back after the interview).

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow NVC will annouce us they received our DS-3032?
Would the safest thing be to both email and send by mail the Choice of Agent form? I am about to begin the NVC journey (hopefully) and if the best bet is to mail it in then I have to have my husband go ahead and fill it out and sign it since I am going to visit him in a few weeks (it would save a few $ on postage!).

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures1-130 please help

It's taking about 142 days to get the approval for I130. Then you have the NVC stage which takes couple of months. Since you don't have timeline filled in, I'm going to pretend your NOA1 came on August 1st. You should have had your approval already. What you need to do is contact your senator and ask them to call USCIS and push for the case to be complete quickly.

I think your from GA. You can go here http://www.chambliss...FederalAgencies and contact you senator to help you with this matter. If you fill this out today, I'm sure you'll get your approval by this Friday. For futher help, post back. Thanks. Good luck.

The NVC process doesn't have to take a couple months if you get your documents ready now. Search on this forum for NVC shortcuts and you could get out in 4 to 6 weeks (I think the record is 11 days or so).

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat to write when contacting congressmen

I am about to write my 2 state senators and 19 representatives. Anyone have any advice on what kind of things to say or what information to give apart from the obvious? Case number, dates, 5+ months, etc.?

Any help is greatly appreciated, good luck to all.

Search for the consent form that your representative uses first because usually they need that from you before they can look into your case. It's probably on their website.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures2010 Tax Return - Extension or Ammendment

Jenny, what I thought and read somewhere on the VJ forum as well is that USCIS can consider tax return filed as Single against bonafied marriage..... not sure about it but simply I do not want to take any risk and also who does not want bigger refund ?

I hardly believe that the USCIS would deny someone a visa because of that. If the consular officer asks my husband why I didn't file as married he will tell him/her it was because he doesn't have a SSN (and he will have in his hands other evidence of a bona fide marriage, such as photos, money order receipts, marriage certificate, affidavits, etc. etc.).
Bam. Problem solved.

I agree. I think it is important to file married as proof of bonifide marriage.

How is that proof? Does not make ANY sense. There are married couples that file as single all the time- you file as what you think suits you the best.

This forum is getting dumber and dumber.

I'm trying to think how filing single would look bad to USCIS- I mean, the only reason for filing Married is to get a bigger return! "I didn't file Married so I wouldn't get more of my own money back from the government- sorry!"
:P

I did my taxes yesterday and I filed as single. There *are* married couples (with both people living in the U.S.) that file single for their own reasons.

I think we'll email them as soon as we get the number (we still did not get NOA2 though). If it does not work, then we'll mail them a hard copy (their form will come at least in a week after we get the number, so we will not waste the time anyway).

Are you planning to mail a hard copy of Choice of Address and Agent form (DS-3032) or shoot NVC an email containing the same info like some people suggest (and it actually worked for them)?

I'm still figuring out what I want to do about the Choice of Agent form, but I'm going to have my husband sign a couple just in case. I guess the most RELIABLE way would be to mail it express. I'm afraid that it would get spammed if I email it! What about you? Are you going to go the email route?...

You can get a titre test yes (some say the antibodies will have gone by now anyhow LOL), but I can only get that if I pay big bucks in the UK. I can get my shots for free, I only need MMR, flu and Tdpa.

Ohhh, I see! Hopefully that test is cheaper in Paraguay! I'm going to have to do some research into that when I go! :)

Sooo (steering to another topic) has everyone gathered their necessary documents for NVC? I'm going to see my husband for a few days week after next and I have to get his military record. Plus he has to search for his vaccination record- to scare him I told him that if he doesn't find it he's going to have to get ALL the shots ALL over again hehehe...

you have ordered Jenny to apologize in a situation she did not error
now you are subtlely insinuating we're attacking each other

please stop
you are not our father
miind your own business
now THAT was an attack see the difference?

people are attempting to help each other and sometimes the written word comes across wrong but that doesnt mean "attacks" are happening... this thread is NOT the "normal" online forum

Wow what a great idea we have now been waiting 63 days since our approval and still no NVC case number. Its so painful to finally get approval and still be in limbo as to when we will receive a case number Dantes and I were approved the same day and have both called TSC and NVC many times and as with the I 130 get many different answers. I check this thread several times a day just to see if anyone has received their number yet. I have noticed that other service centers usually send their cases to NVC within a week or two, I just can't undferstand why it is taking the TSC so so long. Does anyone have any Ide as to why TSC hasn't forwarded our cases to NVC?

And also, you got your approval in less than 100 days while others have been waiting twice that long, so you really shouldn't be bitching about it. Just my two cents.

how long did it take after that? did they say they were 'pulling the petition' to send it there or that it was already there? i recall at least a couple being told (in addition to me) that ours were being pulled and would be 30-45 days...
as for our congressman , i was truly disappointed because the gal dealing with this truly doesnt know the process or the centers, and obviously didnt even read the underlined portions of my letter (i didnt expect anyone to read the whole thing - 2pg - so underlined the main points which was approx 6 lines per page. THAT was truly upsetting because our congressman has a reputation for helping people and i tried to make it as easy as possible)

I got that last letter from my congressman on 1/7, I believe. I don't have the letter with me but I think it said something like it was going to be sent to that exams unit for review. I didn't make contact with his office or with USCIS after that.
Oh, and my husband and I are both 25, married for a little over 7 months, no children.

posted this on wrong thread :P

rather than try to find a link on why we were sent to TSC, let's find a link between the approvals...

not all got an email from that same officer garza and not all who rec'd an email from her/him got an aproval

is there any other pattern??

are all i-130s or were there i-129Fs as well? are all beneficiarys/petitioners young/old, been married long/short time, have/dont have children, got senator/congressman involved.

the latter one sticks out at me more than anything, because of what they say when you follow up with their office: "they said they will pull the petition and give a decsion in 30-45 days"... how many people have been told that? were the ones who were approved told that as well? is TSC not even working on them till they are prodded like this?

The only pattern I saw (if you can call it a pattern) is that both Rickey and I got the same response from our congressman that our petitions were sent to the exams unit of TSC for processing and to wait 45 - 90 days for notice of action.
