just received my visa yesterday, Feb 14... yay! thanks Visa Journey for answering all my question... POE next!!!

Interview at the embassy Feb 18. Was told at the releasing window I was approved, except they were waiting for the medical result from St. Luke's, which the clinic promised to me they would transmit to the embassy on the 18th around 9 AM.

The American consular officer took my passports (my current one and the old one with a previous US visa). That should be a good sign, right?

Except when I check the CEAC website, it's still in AP and my case was updated or touched on Feb 19, 20, 21, but nothing since then.

Others who got interviewed on or after my interview date have been posting that their status indicates visa ISSUED. This is like waiting for NOA2 all over again, in the sense that others who applied or got interviewed after me get approved before me! Arrggghhh!

My case status on the CEAC website still says Administrative Processing 2 days after being told at the interview that I was approved. I did notice that my case was last updated on 19 February 2014. I hope the 'update' is related to my medical data being received late by the US Embassy. When I was interviewed by the American consul (an Asian-American), he mentioned that they're still waiting for my medical, so I told him I finished my immunizations at St. Luke's clinic around 6 PM of the 17th but the clinic staff promised me that they'd transmit my medical result to the embassy on the 2nd batch on Feb 18, around 9 AM. I was interviewed on the 18th of Feb.

I was approved for the K-1 fiancé visa at US Embassy Manila a couple of days ago! Woo-hoo!

We booked our flights to the USA on Delta Airlines on the same day the visa was approved. MNL-NRT-SFO

So now, we're just waiting for the visa to be issued so we can pick it up at 2Go. We are so relieved to finally have this approval and the chance to re-start our life together. My future in-laws were crying over Skype as we talked about the approval and made plans for the wedding.

Lots of luck and good wishes and vibes to everyone still going through their fiancé visa process!

It took almost 2 weeks from approval at the USEM interview to getting the visa in hand? Wow, that sounds too long.

@sjk&cjj,

go to page 6 of this topic, there is an instruction on how to check when your package arrived at the consular office.

Hi! Is that the one where you convert a date to some alternative calendar then use those numbers to get an estimate of the courier delivery of the files to the US Embassy? That's still mostly guesswork, correct?

So the same thing happened to mine.... haha.... they can´t even type a DOB correctly.... I spoke with them they asked me to do the same thing.... I asked her if this would be a problem to ship the case... she said no worries, if it does not get fixed before it leaves NVC, the embassy will correct it.... so as long as USCIS has it correctly on the NOA1 it will be fine.... they go by what you put on the DS160 and what USCIS sends them.... so no worries... go ahead and schedule your interview... we did it with no problems.... let me know... good luck!!!

How did the interview go?

Perfect timing since I will be in Manila from jan 17 for 4 weeks. I will come with her during the interview.  I am hoping to bring her home :) Good luck to all of us.

I was checking your timeline and I noticed that you indicated that the US Embassy in Manila received your case file on 21 December 2013. May I know how you know the exact date? Did you receive an email? Thanks for your reply.

Hi everyone, my case is now in transit to the US embassy in Santo Domingo,I sent my petition on Sept and Nov,12 they approved my case, but they sent it to the NVC almost five weeks later, I called USCIS and don't know how many times until i get a CR that told me that i will receive a message from them before Dec. 14, So Dec 13 they sent me a message saying that our case was shipped to the NVC, I was waiting for this 9 years, and we have to THANKS EDIE WINDSOR for what she did for us..Happy New Year everyone..

Yes, as 2014 approaches, let's take a moment to thank Ms. Edie Windsor, without whom, we wouldn't have immigration equality. I also want to thank Ms. Mary Bonauto of GLAD who won the first ever DOMA lawsuit in federal court, setting the stage for the defeat of DOMA by Ms. Windsor at the US Supreme Court.

Thank you to these two ladies, all the DOMA plaintiffs and their lawyers and all those binational same-sex couples whol told their stories to the media and Soloway's The DOMA Project. All of these kept chipping away at the unconstitutional DOMA law that broke up loving couples, caused these same couples to go into exile or live apart continents away in some cases, and in extreme cases, caused the non-citizen partner of a US citizen to go out of status or go undocumented, subject to deportation and arrest at any time. Thankfully, this nightmare is over for same-sex binational couples.

I still have not decided if I am going... most likely not because the immigrant visas are processed at another consulate far away from the capital... ugh! but we still trying to decide on the wedding date .....

The interview dates are back to April 15, 2014 :(

**did you booked the first avaialble dates & just change it when you know that there has been an opennings for earlier dates or you've waited till the earlier dates was released?

When we were trying to schedule, there were no available dates at all, so we waited. Finally, when dates became available, we immediately booked the interview date. The earliest available date in our case was 6 January 2014. There were other dates in January and February available.

for Mexico it is different.... we go online and make the fingerprints and interview appointment from the calendar they have...

This sounds similar to the procedure for the US Embassy in Manila. I had to print a form called the fee deposit slip (available online). This requires the case number and some other info. Then I had to take it to a specific bank to pay the visa fee then the bank returned the deposit slip with a receipt printed on it. The bank transmits the info to the USEM and in my case, I was able to schedule the interview (biometrics done right at the interview) online after 8 or 9 hours of payment.

I don't understand how it can be that far away? The stats page says Manila is on avg 50 days from consulate receiving info to interview...can the stats be that wrong? That is scary for us...we are counting on having our interview in London before April.

Interview dates opened up earlier than what was available previously. I think everyone who was affected by Typhoon Haiyan got their interview dates set so all other reserved slots were then released.

The 50 days average you mentioned would probably turn out correct.

London makes the appointment for you and mails it anytime up to 6
weeks after the medical, ds-160 and a readiness form are submitted.
But I found out I can call DOS in a couple of weeks to get the date over the phone.

Oh OK, you should call DOS and be proactive about it, is what I'd tell you. For the Manila embassy, the applicant goes to their secure website and chooses their own schedule. My holiday wish for you is that you get an interview date very soon!

OK, the dark skies cleared and the sun shone brightly all of a sudden!!!

Slots opened up for earlier interview dates at the US Embassy Manila! Whereas previously, the earliest interview date available was 29 April 2014, today, the earliest interview date available was 6 January 2014 and multiple other dates in January 2014 and February 2014 were now available for scheduling. 6 January was too early as we still need to get certain documents from the Philippines and USA so my fiancé (USC) and I (beneficiary) chose to interview in February 2014.

We're getting close to the end of our K-1 visa journey...lots of luck to everyone else waiting to be reunited!

Yes...just those two things are needed.  I would say go ahead and make the interview appt.  There is some reprieve for Filipinos who were affected by Yolanda as they are given exception to schedule an earlier date.  That requires a telephone call to the consulate for consideration.  The exceptions can be extended to those who are secondarily affected (family piles into the house and now there are too many living there)...April . hmm.  As far as it seems today, this whole thing was unimaginable 6 months ago....and the time has flown since then. It is painful separation i know, but there is joy inside just waiting.  Also, while you can make the appt online, you can also call for an appt. I'm not sure how you are "waiting" for the system.  If you have the health exam and the visa payment receipt number, then there should be no obstacles.  The consulate there really does have many ways to make it convenient.  good luck guys.  it's on the way.

MabuhayDaniel, waiting for the system means the online scheduling website shows no available appointments. Thanks for everything else you wrote.

We're going to stick to scheduling online instead of calling. The visa gurus (Hank, for one) in the Philippines sub forum say that we can't call on the phone to schedule the interview since the USEM doesn't have our petition yet, since NVC still had it as of Tuesday, 17 December.

Yes, it is what it is...the available interview date changes almost everytime we try to schedule. The system still won't allow us to schedule. Perhaps the bank is yet to transmit proof of visa payment to the embassy.

We can wait. We've waited much longer for the pieces to fall in together (DOMA making its way up the courts and ending with its defeat at the Supreme Court). Good luck on getting your case number soon!

congratulations.  the MNL number will stay with you through the process.  you will use it to complete the online forms.  things move easier once it leaves the NVC.....our experience was that NVC, while they did give me the MNL number, they were of little help after that.  Once your case is received and processed by MNL embassy your status will changed to READY.  At that point you can go online to schedule the interview appt. Your partner will need to pay the visa application before you can make your interview appt.  It's cake. It really is. Enjoy it. peace.

Hi! I've read in the Philippines sub forum that I only need the MNL case number and visa fee receipt number to schedule the USEM interview online. We got both now and just waiting for the USEM system to allow us to schedule the interview appointment online. Seems like the earliest interview date available is now April 28 in 2014!

Have you tried to do a research according to RFE and date of NOA2?

For instance, the last couple who received NOA2 in Italy had an RFE on 10/29, their answer was received by USCIS on 11/05, and they finally received their NOA2 on 11/15.

Hope this helps.
