As for the waiting time, it was 2 to 3 month before mid december, and now that they are late in processing at VSC, the waiting time is more 4 to 5 months. Good day all: I understand that my fiance will not receive a Packet 3 because apparently that is not done in Guatemala, but he will receive a Packet 4. I've been clicking around on the Visa FAQs, the Guides, Wiki, etc and I cannot find information on what those packets are. A lawyer is handling my case but it seems that the good and knowledgeable people here answer much faster than he does! The driving place told me that we have to take a test to get a licence in SC, but said they weren't sure and to call the "international office in Rock Hill, SC, whose phone service just tells you to leave a message and they will call you back. Well, 7 days have passed and I'm still waiting for the call back! Can't stand it! I went to get my SSN number last week. Went into the place, was told it would be a 2 hour wait, at least, no seat free! Couldn't face it, so I left! I live 30 miles from this SSN office, will have to steel myself to try again next week. And Mr Dog has to take the day off work to drive me, cos I can't drive myself as no licence, and it's $120 for a taxi there and back, no buses. Aargh! Unfortunately, the UK citizen have to take a test, cos you drive on the wrong way lol. Fot the SSN, it really sucks ... If you want, try to go to the SSN of Laurens, they kinda know about the K1 visa, cos I've been there lol. ...and me. ( Still in AP and i'll have to watch the 'scheduled' date of the wedding pass from 3.5k miles away. I hope you get something soon Hello everyone, I finally did it. I am not and am terrified of taking to the roads, and also of getting lost as I live way out in the country, but the sooner I get driving the better as I will be a prisoner in my own home and small town! TOLD TO PICK UP THIS FRIDAY..AMOR HERE I COME yay gratz about time @ Jess : Lovely lovely cute superb little flowery dress . I love it As for the shipping, depends if you are shipping furniture or not, I only took like 1 extra luggage and 2 boxes with me on the plane. American Airlines allows you to have 9 extra luggage of 22kg each with you. You pay 50$ for the first one, and 100$ for each extra one. My mistake was the boxes, 12 kg each, would have been better if I bought extra cheap luggage to fill them up . had to leave over 1000€ of stuff back in france, but oh well, what's done is done. The funniest thing is when people here don't know you are a foreigner and ask you the simplest questions, and you have no idea I walked into a bridal shop and couldn't tell them my dress and shoe size Am slowly learning to convert kg-s into lbs, cm-s into inches... but I still don't know my shop sizes... they seem to change every time I try something on. welcome back KisK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! missed you girly . My dad, who just turned 80, collapsed at his birthday party. He's OK, thank god (and thank god I volunteer with St. Johns - not that I was able to do much, but it kept me calm in a sea of total panic!!) - but as this is the 8th time it's happened now, it looks like he won't be able to travel to the wedding to give me away So now we're on Plan B, which is - get Jason on a plane in August, non-legal (VERY non-legal!!) ceremony in my dad's back garden so he can still walk me down the aisle J's plane ticket at that time of year is going to cost a bloody fortune but I want my dad to be involved so the cost doesn't matter....I haven't told him (my dad) my thoughts yet and I know he's going to be really upset cos he hates the idea of getting old and not being able to do as much, so I'm quite strssed out. But on the upside, I get to see J sooner than October - and it's an excuse to buy another pretty dress I'm sorry to hear about your dad Jess , but glad he is doing better. Your Plan B seems good to me , this way, those who can't attend the "real wedding", will attend the unofficial one . K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2009 filers	Well......a bit of bad news....sigh Joseph had his interview, all went well except my divorce decree was apparently not a "certified copy", although that is what I requested. So we are approved, pending receipt of the certified copy which I have on its way to me now. I will overnight it to the embassy when it arrives. So overall, its good but more delays......hate delays!! Gratz on the "pending" approval Where did you get this information ? I still didn' t apply for my SSN, we decided we' ll wait until we' re married so we don' t have to go through it twice. How do I make sure I need or don' t need a SSN for getting a marriage license ? Better go to the city hall and ask? we had it all done the same day (SSN and marriage license). if you don't want to apply for the SSN, just ask for a paper stating that you don't have one yet, I think they can give you that if you explain the situation. Each county is different, but many counties require a SSN for the license. York County in SC, which is where I'll be living requires SSN, so we have to get the license from another county. Check the requirements of your local county, if they require SSN, check neighbouring counties as they all have different requirements. But when you've got the license, you can get married anywhere you like, in any county. We got our license from Laurens county, but got married in Simpsonville. But on the marriage license, we put Laurens county as place of wedding, to avoid questions or problems (cause Drue said that one time when he performed his friend's wedding, they put different county, and they were b*tches at the city hall. So better put the same county as the issued license. Miss Jess, good luck for your interview tomorrow , hope all goes good. I guess the copy of the divorce certificate should be enough, cos they already have the I-129F file. In some counties in SC you need your SS to get the marriage license. Or, are you in a county with no SS requirement for license? What county are you in? Also, are you gonna do the civil surgeon transcription for immunizations, or not (see our Nov filers AOS thread for details)? When we went to get the marriage license, they asked for the SSN or for a paper from the SS saying that I didn't have one, and when we went to the SS office to ask for that paper, the woman there just did the paperwork for it, and I received today my SSN public/style_emoticons/default/kicking.gif, took only 6 days. I wanted to start to fill the AoS documents but reading the thread about it gave me a headache, so instead, I just had an Oreo sandwich ice-cream and watched tv I guess I'll need help on that part, sooo confusing	Drue & Naddy	Female	France	2010-06-07 20:49:00
