K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Police Certs	I have a police cert question also--my Romanian fiance was "unofficially" living in Spain for the past 2 years, with family and doing volunteer work there. He never was registered anywhere there as he did not have a car or official job or anything. However, on the forms we did list Spain as his residence at the time (which may have been a mistake) because he was there at the time of filing. He went to the Spanish embassy there to get police certificates, and they would not give him one b/c they said they have no official record of him being there. Is this going to pose a problem later? He IS able to get Romanian police certificates that cover this time period, but will it look suspicious if he has no Spain certificates, and papers that show he lived in Spain for 2 years? BTW, he went to the Spanish embassy in Romania also, without success. Any ideas or advice is appreciated.	pedsgirl77	Female	Romania	2007-08-29 11:01:00

I really struggled with the best way to list my finace's address on our paperwork, and now in retrospect I think I did it incorrectly. I listed his neighborhood when I now believe I should have listed his district as that is what is connected to the postal code. I just received my NOA1- I am afraid that if I call to change this they may return my petition to me. Does anyone have any experience or insight with this? It's for an address in Peru if that helps. Hope this helps---we had a similar situation due to my fiance moving to a different country mid-application. I called USCIS and my lawyer, and both said the same thing--no biggie b/c right now they are interested only in your contact information b/c you are the petitioner doing the requesting at this stage of the game. Only when you get approved with your NOA 2 will your foreign fiance's address become important, b/c that's when your case goes to NVC and then they WILL need the correct mailing address in order to send out the packets. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	typical US Laywer fees for filing K-1 Visa?	Our lawyer fee: $1800. How much help they have been: about $10 worth so far I didn't know about VJ then; or would not have hired one. It has been like pulling teeth to get any information from them or to get simple corrections made. They came highly recommended; and I guess in case of denial we have someone to help us appeal; but for a straightforward case, we could have done it on our own. She also stated that it is against US law to give him the visa b/c he has intent to stay. He then tried to explain that "he just misses me" and she proceeded to tell him that she has a finance in Bolgaria and that he should just accept it and wait until his K1 visa is approved. I personally think her statement was unescessary. We knew it was a slim chance for approval, but is it really against the law to approve this B2 visa? We were honest and did everything by the book and just feel like she "knocked the wind out of our sail" Also we were told that his passport should've been stamped denied is this true? Semih wants to apply again, b/c we heard that sometimes it depends on the person interviewing. What do you think? So sorry.......we went thru the same thing x 3 last year. The thing is, they will suspect him of coming here and staying since he has a longterm interest in being here (i.e. YOU). So, they are going to make him apply under an immigrant visa to keep him from overstaying on his tourist visa. That's what happened with us anyway. So, we went the K-1 visa route after we were engaged and stopped trying for the tourist visa. Also, for what it's worth, our lawyer has advised us NOT to try any more for a tourist visa....he said that a record of visa denials is a kind of red flag in his history; and that it may actually hurt our chances for the K-1 visa if we apply too many times. It's HARD to go for more than 6 months without seeing him, but we've accepted that the tourist visa ain't happening. When my fiance' went for his, she denied him at the window without taking even a look at his papers or my documentation I had submitted. Yes, they are heartless in those places! Cheer up though, can't you go ahead and apply for K-1, even if you haven't made your engagement official between you two yet? Heaven knows you'll be waiting long enough anyway (we filed in early May and still haven't heard anything): you may well have an opportunity to solidify things officially during this long wait, for K-1 processing. We started our journey in early April and almost 8 months later, have just today received our interview date for next week. There are a lot of days when it's impossible to be patient, and when distraction is the only solution. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2009 filers	we are approved! finally! my fiance (USC) checked the USCIS site afternoon there and it was updated. he called me to let me know (it was 3am here then lol). then after a few hours, he got a text and an email!!! he called me again (8am here). i checked my email and i got a notice too! yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i guess VSC is back on track! hooray for that!!! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! haha i'm just very happy to finally get the noa2 congrats to all those who got theirs as well! this is a day to celebrate Gratzzzz !!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2009 filers	I'm soooo getting worried, as i look everyday on the board and i see that people send soooo many proofs to the USCIS for the petition... We only sent 2 pictures that we printed from the computer, one itinary printed from my emails of one of my trips to Dallas (round-trip), and a photocopy of our receipts when we bougt sunglasses together (2 receipts, using our own credit card, so it's showing both names, from the same store at the same time). And, when we sent our package, we didn't know about VisaJourney forum, so our question 18b is not on a seperate page, it's in the little box they gave us to write the answer in on the form. Are we most likely to get an RFE or a denial??? And, we forgot to make copies of the package, do i need copies of it for the interview or something? OMG everyday i'm getting even more worried... (I'm writing it here because i'm a november filer that follows this thread everyday) I'm in the same case as you. only 2 photos for proof, passport stamps copy, and no copy of the K1 application, didn't know bout VJ till after we send it. Madame Irma was right to spencer12, ur pm was enough, u didn't have to copy/past it here. My post wasn't meant to be hateful against the military expedite application. All I wrote is a sarcastic statement on the status of the applications that gets a quick NOA2. Too bad for u, and for 1 other member, u took it wrong. But, from where I come from, there's something called "Freedom of speech". Ever heard of it? But oh well, now I'm happy to see that Oct-Nov filers are being fairly approved. We, as a November groups, suffer with our members, and the months before members. We feel their pain, and will never mock them, cos we know how it is hard to be away from our beloved. The good thing is, that our members dont have to create a new thread to look for some compassion, for someone to cheer them up or for someone to understand them. They just stay in the family cos they know that we are here for them. I won't tell u like others did before "Oh just be patient, 5 month waiting is nothing". 5 month waiting is a pain, knowing that the applications were approved in 2 month max, and then everything got frozen in mid-December with no reason. But of course, no "nearly 2.5 month waiting" member would understand that, specially if VSC unfairly skipped all the months before, and start working on their month. But that's another long story. So ..... I will share with u what my future mother in law told me : "God is aware of everything. He will reward the truthful, and He will punish the fraudster". I think He was busy for the last 2 months, but He is back on business As Madame Irma (the medium) said in an early post, this week, she sees light at the end of the tunnel ... she feels happiness among us .... she sense jealousy coming from the outside ... I hope she is right, otherwise, she won't be getting any of my 2 cents for a while Edit : I was reading again Madame Irma's prediction, i think she meant VSC, not NVC ... The actual paper says approval was on 2-11-10. I am happy things are moving even if they are slow. Now I guess its another wait for NVC to pass it along to the embassy. I remember a guy tracking the package being sent to the embassy through DHL. USCIS is already making out lives hellish enough; probably shouldn't give them anymore reason... The chances that something bad would actually happen are probably quite slim, but it's rather an unnecessary risk. I think referring to the spreadsheet was a really, really, really bad idea ... This spreadsheet was made for us to track what VSC is doing. I wrote it b4 to not use this spreadsheet as a proof of anything to VSC. Cos we don't really know if we are allowed or not to do this work. Sorry, but I don't want any trouble, nor for me, nor for anyone else. The spreadsheet has been deleted ... I was angry for a while about the processing order, etc. but I just don't have the energy to keep that up, and I don't want to spend every conversation I have with my beloved complaining about how "another December/January filer was approved before us!!" I'm saving all my fight for the five months, and if I don't have an NOA2 by then, Congressmen, letters, and incessant phone calls will be unleashed. Until then, I'll just be checking out lots of library books... Best to everyone! Our turn is near. We are a great community, and we stand up for each other. Some of us feel down, and come and write down how they feel, and the other members are here to cheer them up. But of course, we will feel more frustrated, if some other members (who brag about getting their NOA2 fast cos of military deployment, I wont quote, but it's in January 2010 K-1 VSC thread), come and spread BS. I would like to see, if in 3-4 month, the other January filers will still be happy for the ones who cut in the lines. Oh well ... I just hope that u all get some good news today or by next week. I lost hope. I wont post anything bout the unfairness, cos i don't want other members (who doesnt understand what nearly 4 month waiting means) to come and spread their BS in our thread.
