PhilippinesChildrens' birth certs falsely stating a date/place of marriage
QUOTE (AmyStan @ Apr 25 2009, 05:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't have any doubts that she was never married. Telling me she lived with someone out of wedlock isn't better than saying she was married. But my point is that the BC is just that, a certificate of birth and not a certificate of marriage. The CENOMAR is the legal document stating whether a marriage took place. One could have a child and name Brad Pitt as the father (along with a date/place of marriage), but would have a hard time using that as proof of marriage to old Brad.

I do see how it can cause confusion during the process and that's the reason for my question.

We are trying to be delicate, but you have to consider the possibilities, because the USEM certainly will. Your fiancee does fit a certain profile, and may face a fraud inquiry, even if everything she told you is true. It will take a court to change the birth certificates, and the USEM will presume a common law marriage for your fiancee.

Stop the bickering. Let's make peace. Semana Santa na ngayon. Everytime I send him an email, I got three replies. He brought Skippy peanut butter and Kisses chocolates (which are my favorites) when he came to see me in Manila and he printed all my emails, piled them in order and sealed them in a big file folder. I felt like crying when I saw the thick folder with all my emails inside. And then I realized Mr. Bill is the one for me. Girls, when did you realize that He was the one for you?

We were on the beach watching the breath-taking sunset and I was busy playing with the star fish and he came to me and said he found something. He slowly opened his right hand and I saw a fist of sand on his palm and I was thinking it was a small crab hiding in the sand. So I slowly sneaked and looked for the small creature but I felt a round thing and picked it out from his palm. It was a very beautiful diamond ring and my tears just kept falling from my eyes. Then he proposed to me and surely I never had a doubt that he was the one whom God gave me. I will never forget that moment. Only God was the witness at that time since we were the only one on the beach and cover with a very stunning sunset background. And now we are happily married and I am so lucky to be part of his sweet and loving family. I could never been happier in my life. God already gave me my dream. To be with the man who will love me as a whole.

Oh dear, this is a tear jerker. I wish I could write all your responses in my blog. I am still contemplating on a title though, but I will. It's nice to hear from all you girls out there who posted their replies. Love is magic. There's no perfect words to describe what we feel for the love of our life. when did you realize that He was the one for you?

Before there was us, my life seemed dull. I looked for love in the wrong places and have gotten hurt. I almost gave up on love. I thought that I will never find the one person who will make me happy and who will love me in spite of my faults. Then i met Shane, a very wonderful guy. I was hesitant at first considering our differences. But he never gave up on me. Not once. He was always there for me, though sometimes i ignored him. He waited until I was ready to open my heart. He never once rushed me into making decisions. From then on, I knew that this is the man that I will spend the rest of my life with. He has touched my life in a way that nobody else has. He changed the way i see myself and the way I see life.

We are still going and growing strong for over 3 years.

It was last year of April 5th when he proposed to me at a jewelry shop in the mall. He really kneeled down in front of me. blush.gif wub.gif

How sweet! How romantic. Kinikilig ako. Same thing happened to my friend. Her husband popped the big question to her while they were in a jewelry store somewhere in Manila.

My wife didn't come from a "poor" place.

Her family is very well educated, Her house in PI is bigger than most houses in USA, it is 3 stories with like 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

Her immediate family is Lawyers, Doctors, CPA's, they own numerous real estate in Davao area and get a healthy rental income from these.

I don't consider her place poor, Heck I would trade my house for her family house in PI in heartbeat.

They have 3 helpers that live there and take care of all the househould chores..............

Apparently she is not that educated....she married you didnt she?

She is very well educated -

I can almost gaurantee she makes at least double the money per year that your Husband makes in USA...........

If it is really true love, why do you care so much about her family assets and how much she's gonna make? Who's using who?

As far as work goes:

I sure as hell not gonna marry a girl who can only get a job at a Wal Mart or some grocery store with little to no education.

My wife can go to any city in USA and find a excellent paying job with great benefits within days with her education.......

She suspects he is cheating with every woman he meets, and has become addicted to pain killers. Not a healthy situation, especially with two kids.

Hi. It's me again... Never ending drama with USEM. Ok USEM had asked us to submit documentatioins. My fiance hand delivered those documents twice (one week apart). The first time my fiance hand delivered it, they said they never got documents. So I had asked my fiance to go back and hand delivered it again a week after. When I called them today to follow up on the status they said they never got the document again! Tomorrow my fiance will go back again to freaking hand deliver it again!!! Are they doing this on purpose to delay it? What the heck... Who else can I call besides the senator to get this settle once and for all.... It's been over 14 months since our K1 interview and until now we are still waiting for the visa... Because of their mistakes we are emotionally and financially hurting... this is really stressing us out... how much longer do they want us to wait?? do they want us to give up and just refile??? crying.gif mad.gif

Has anyone turned in additonal documents but the USEM claims that they never received it?

I cannot believe this! Did your fiancee really hand delivered the additional documents herself? Once maybe, but not twice. Something is amiss here and it's not the embassy. Just my two cents star_smile.gif

Well, just wanna share our experience with USCIS to everyone. I thought it was funny though but not a good one! Lol. Anyway, my husband would always call them twice sometimes thrice a week before our petition got approved. April 24th, my husband called USCIS and was told that our I-130 has been approved, and our I-129f will be followed a week after or two. Two weeks later, we have not heard anything from them. We even waited for the hard copy in the mail but nothing got in the mail. Again, my husband phoned them up and they said our I-129f been approved in May 8th and our I-130 was approved on the 11th. What??? All I thought they approved it on the 24th? So, I was like...what the heck is going on? My husband even called his congressman. And spoke with certain Cris a few times. We dont know if he helped us or was just a coincidence. Coz after my husband called him everything seemed to moved fast. So, Ok...week ago, (17th or 18th can't remember exactly) my husband called USCIS back again, and this time he was told that our both I-129f & I-130 were been approved on the 10th. And that the hard copies are on it's way. Again what??? Phew! Nakakaloka hindi ba? Lol. But in fairness to them, this time they were positive. Therefore, inspite of all troubles they caused us (LOL), we are so happy coz finally (May 18th) my husband received the NOA2 hard copy for both I-129f & I-130, together with NVC letter in the mail. Got the MNL case number and now we are hoping for the June interview.

I am so excited to gather all necessary documents for my medical and interview. But I'm more happy and excited thinking that my beloved husband and I will be together very soon, and never be apart from each other again...

I can't really wait...

Thank you LORD, for always being with us!

Nakakaloka ba talaga? I guess someone's cracking the whip on the USCIS folks nowadays. Good for you.

Hi everyone! I just want have an idea about the petition of my brother. My mom petitioned us as single F1 (me, my sister and my brother). We received our letter from NVC (January 2008) to let us know that our petitioned is already on process. During that time, me and my sister discovered that out brother (43 yrs. old) gor married 1992. He kept it in secret because my mom might feel bad about him... HE GOT MARRIED BEFORE HE WAS PETITIONED by my mom. When we told this problem with our mom, she really feels disgusted and almost faint. Our brother was the most special among us (spoiled brat!). When we got another letter from NVC telling us to pay for our Visa Processing, my mom didn't pay for my brother because it's useless paying it. He's married and his petition is Single/Unmarried Sons F1... We are here in US already and we seek for a lawyer's help (Atty. Laguatan). According to him, he can still come here but should change his status from single to married. But sometimes this attorney is just bragging bec. my mom paid him $2,000, that payment will be until my brother will come here. But unfortunately, there's no news from him but to tell us not to worry, I think he's not doing any actions about my bros case...I was bale to call the NVC and told me that my bros case went back to USCIS because they found out that he got married and his case has to be PETITIONED AGAIN! Oh my God! I felt sad for my mom. My mom doesn't know this! ..ANYONE WHO READS THIS, CAN YOU GIVE A LITTLE ADVICE WHAT'S THE BEST THING TO DO. IS IT TRUE THAT THIS CASE COULD BE BACK TO ZERO?

yes, bcoz even if he attend the interview,he will still have the denial bcoz he got married. It happened to the brother of my mom's friend. When their father petitoned him single F1...he got married and thought the USEM will not knew about his status,so he went to his interview and he was shocked that the USEM found out that he's not single anymore and thats the reason of his denial.

I'm just curious how did USEM find out that he was married. Do they call NSO to make their own investigation?

They (US Embassy) pays someone to do the investigation. And they are very good at it. It happened to my cousin. She was also petitioned by her mom as single, but she got married against her mom's wishes. They did continue with the petition. When it was time for her visa interview, her application for visa was denied by the US Embassy by reason of her being married. How did the US Embassy found out? Only God knows.

I cannot say that life here in America is easy it is luxurious. Here in America you need a car bec. dont have many public transportation especially here in North Carolina, but the maintenance of the car like the car insurance, gasoline, yearly tax or car loan payment monthly etc... unlike in the Phils. you can live without a your own car. you can depend the public transportation. In the Phils you dont need a heater, many people there dont use an air condition or electric pan..but here in America you can't live without a heater during winter it cost a lot of money during winter. In the Phils you can live without a refrigerator, oven, microwave or toaster etc..but here in America we need to have that appliances bec. we dont go to the grocery or stores everyday and also the washing machine and dryer.

In America many bills to pay monthly like internet ,cable , satellite, telephone, cell phone (monthly bills), home phone, water , electricity , Medical insurance, house insurance (fire and flood ), garbage-(quarterly ), if there is house mortgage payment or rental (monthly), Life insurance ( optional ) , property tax at the end of the year. In every week you have schedule for payment. You earned dollars and you spend also in terms of dollars.

In the Phils. I live a simple life there. I dont have mortgage or loan to pay every month. I'm satisfied with my monthly salary there. We agree when he retire we will go back to the Phils. bec. I have fear of what happened to me before when i got sick we pay a lot of money for my medical bills after the deduction of his medical insurance. We are saving money for my gall bladder operation next year in the Phils. bec. we can't afford here even we have medical insurance. it takes for us many years to pay installment the medical bill if i will have my operation here bec. medical services its very expensive in America. Even our dog or cat got sick we pay a lot of money for the veterinarian.

Rentals and houses to buy are cheap compared to the usa, but food prices, and other things are not really that cheap. It can be hard to even get a job. College degrees and etc, age discrimination is legal and allowed.
Its not like in the states where you can get some kind of job. Here you have to go through a lot just to land a very low paying job. Call center jobs are thought of as somewhat well paying and they start at about 12,000-15,000 pesos or
about 300 usd a month. That can work if you dont pay rent, but if you are paying rent, and so forth 500 a month is pretty basic living.

Dont get sick and not have the money to pay for your meds or hospitalization, you are in a world of hurt. They will turn
you away and you deal with it and in serious cases, you just die.

For most people in the Phils it is VERY HARD. People are highly motivated to come to the usa.

A lot of people live in extreme poverty in comparison to the usa.

If you are involved in the fiance/marriage process.. the smartest thing you can ever do is take time to UNDERSTAND

the culture and conditions from which you are bringing your fiance.

Proceed with the caution

A lot of people live in extreme poverty indeed, but a lot of people are leading the life of Riley in the Philippines. Not all Filipina fiancees came from poor families. You can find a lot of them here in Visa Journey.

If you are a minimum wage earner in the Philippines with no health insurance and then you get sick, chances are you will die if you cannot get timely medical treatment. But if it's the other way around, then you probably survive.

Not sure how many dependants are in your figures, but here is the link to the 2009 poverty guidelines:

http://www.uscis.gov...form/I-864P.pdf

The I-864 was provided to NVC , but the USEM may want to see it again, so it is best to have a xerox (copies) of everything sent to USCIS and NVC at the interview.

household size is 3 and the poverty guidlines should be 26325...my husband filed our affidavit feb 22,2009... and the 2008 income of my husband is 25,000plus which will meet the 2008 poverty guidelines but not 2009

What chart are you looking at? The 125% poverty level for a family of 3 is $22,887, unless you live in Hawaii.

Me and my fiance are so depress because we didn't hear any updates regarding my case. I had an interview last April 2 but I got a white slip. I already submitted the additional documents that they wanted from me, its almost 6 weeks now but we didn't hear anything from the embassy. My fiance called to the USEM every week to follow-up my case but there were no changes, its still under administrative review.

Its really frustrating, I thought that everything went well but it was really suck. Sigh......

just curios.. why did u got white slip? and what additional docs. are requested?

Honestly, we don't know. We were as prepared as anyone could be, but the CO accused her of being married before, and told her that she needed to get an annulment first before filing for a K1, she then tried to get Rhea to admit to being married on the promise of getting her visa on the spot but Rhea refused to admit to that lie, so then the consulate accused her of faking her identity because of a late BC registration and a smudge on the NBI. Then they gave her the white slip requesting another NBI, another Bc, another police clearance, old ID's, elementary school records, photos of the baptismal book including all relevant pages and the cover as well as the baptismal certificate. She also gave them notarized letters from school teachers, the midwife and the assistant of the mayor claiming that they knew her taught her or attended the birth and that she is who she said she is.
In my opinion, there was not enough fraud going through the embassy that day so we got singled out.

Oh yeah. I remember her now. The US embassy is taking it's sweet time reviewing her papers I guess. They are still checking her out.

What is the deal with this CFO Seminar for Filipino immigrants? If they have a visa in hand, can't they leave their country? It seems the CFO Seminar is another way for the Philippine government to fleece money from their citizens.

What are the repercussions if my wife attempts to leave for the US without having completed the CFO Seminar?

Your wife will not be allowed to leave the Philippines if she won't have a CFO sticker on her passport. Better be done with the CFO or else suffer the consequences of flight delay

Yes for me it is irritating and imbarassing.. specially when they asked that quistion direct to my husband, kc ayaw ko naman isipin ng husband ko na ng ha-haunting tayo ng americano rofl.gif rofl.gif rofl.gif . I was like.. HELLLLOOOOO ! OK ka lang ?!?!??? What do u think about us BUGAW ? That is too little despirate of u. kadiri diba ? hahahaha. Have a little shame in ur self girl. headbonk.gif

I don't find it pimping, gross and a desperate act for Pilipinas who wanted to hook up with American guys. I find it romantic. My husband is open-minded about it. As long as they are both consenting adults, why not? If the American guy has ulterior motive or has an ax to grind, that is a horse of a different color girl! Where is your hopeless romantic side? kicking.gif

huh.gif My hopeless romantic side ?hhmmm.... I think i still have it. But finding a "GUY" here in U.S to hook up with other filipina or friends back in philippines is not part of my hopeless romantic side lol. Was just being sarcastic about the word being "bugaw" coz like i said, for me its annoying and i felt imbarassment when they asked "find me a guy" in states with their tone of begging of some of them infront of my asawa. And it's not about my husband not being open-minded coz he dont really care about it, but that just me being filipina.

Too bad you don't have a hopeless romantic side in you because I do. I don't find it irritating and embarrassing either. Oh well, different strokes for different folks. There is no accounting for taste I guess. Just my humble opinion.

Ok..... huh.gif

In a bar with john:

Me: Hon, can u wait for me a second here ?
John: Why what u ganna do honey ?
Me: Oh, there is another guy sitting in a bar i'm going there and talk to him for a'while.
John: Why ? huh.gif
Me: Dont worry honey i just gonna ask him if his single and available and ask his e-mail ID so i can hook him up with my friend in phils.
John: DUMBASS !

Out with john's friends:

Me: Hi les.. Do u wanna meet some filipina like me?
Les: Juvy are u allright ?
Me: Yeah ! Just asking... just in case ur tired of ur marriage with ur american wife now and divorce her if u going to like my friend.

............. Just trying to imagine some scenario here how to be a hopelessly romantic. rofl.gif

Oh dear! I think you went a little overboard this time. That is not what I have in mind about being hopeless romantic. What I was trying to imply is that this American guy, who happened to be a department manager that time (and now's the assistant manager), likes Filipinas because they are sweet, smart and good looking blush.gif He was the one who asked me to hook him him up with my friends. I wasn't going around pimping my girls. If someone asks, I'll set them up. If they don't ask, I will not say anything, unless I really know the guy and I think he would be a good match to one of my homies. headbonk.gif

Overboard.... LOL maybe. But ok..ok.... I was only talking about my expereince many times back in philippines when all my kapit-bahay knows i got married with american tapos they start punta sa bahay namin and asking to find them a guy dito sa america to hook up with them kasi iniisip nila yayaman sila or magkaka-pera sila pag nag asawa ng americano. Which means.... bakit ganun din ba iniisip nila sa akin? I mean it doesnt really matter ano man isipin nila about sa akin, ang nakakairita eh yung ano palagay nila sa mga puti ATM machine na pagkaka-perahan lang ? Even those kapit-bahay na may asawa na asking me to find amerikano so they can support her family and asawa. So that was the thing that irritate me and found it despiration and kinda....... kadiri to my part being filipina. Kasi ako I love my husband whole-heartedly and purely and it hurt me or offend me sometimes the way they think of american coz i married one. Hindi ko rin nilalahat kasi alam ko na still a lot of filipina na true and sincere din sa mga asawa nila. And yes wala akong problema na introduce one of my friend sa kung sino mang makikilala kong kaibigan ng asawa ko as long alam kong no hidden agenda to my friend part kasi i dont want to take the blame and take another bad comment from my friend or other filipina's wrong doing and fault as we both all know from the post we read here and there many times about filipina. no0pb.gif Thats all.

it is more sympathy than irritating...simply the fact that hardship of living is inevitable in the Philippines..
What do you expect?

You will never know what your neighbors were thinking about you when you married your American husband. My friends, who happened to be my colleagues at work in Makati before, were the only one who asked me to hook them up with single American guys if I happen to know one. Like what I said, different strokes for different folks. You got sinister and nefarious neighbors. They could very well pass up as con artists. I feel sorry for them.

that these two lost souls could be perfectly wrong for each other and their union could cause havoc. laughing.gif

Nada es impossible con Dios. If they are not right for each other, they can always say no and move on. What is the difference between that and meeting someone in the bar? Do you think your chances are better of finding true love in a bar?
