K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWHY WAIT FOR "Packet 3"???
Yes, absolutely! No point waisting more time, and it's easier to fill online documents out, if they are "fillable" PDF files.

Read the guide for whatever visa you are applying for, it will let you know how many to send with the petition.

hmm... why didn't I just tell him that?

If you follow the guide, it states to attach one photo, in a bag or envelope, to a sheet of paper and place behind the respective G-325A, and do the same for your fiance(e). Print the names on the back of the photos and on the envelope.

So NO, you only need one photo for you and one photo for the beneficiary.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresusing the system

Those of us who do love our significant other and wish nothing but to be with them, as you put it, are applying for K-1 visas LEGALLY!!! We intend to marry our significant others within 90 days after arrival. We are not committing visa fraud. We are following the laws of the United States!

Not to bust your bubble or anything, but the easiest and less suspicious way an immigrant can commit visa or marriage fraud is by following the law!

Many immigrants come in with work, student or tourist visas and hidden agendas in mind!

OH damn!!! You just busted my bubble... And you are? And you are on this board for what?

:time:

I wasn't talking about work, student, or tourist visas now was I?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresusing the system
Sorry all, but I've just got to be very blunt here.

Eric, if you truly love her, then what’s wrong with marrying her? You don’t just marry someone for the sake of the paperwork, or get them over here so you can kick the tires and take her for a test drive in the U.S.! That has visa fraud written all over it! What do you mean to see how well her English improves? If she can’t speak English very well, how do you expect her to get a job? Without a work visa, she wouldn’t be able to legally work anyway!

The K-1 seems faster than what? Getting a B1/B2 visa? You don’t “claim” you are engaged, though there is no rule that says you have to be engaged to get a K-1 visa, only that you get married within 90 days of their arrival in the U.S. “Fake marriage”? Are you mad? Why do you keep asking if anyone here has done that? Are you hoping someone on here will give you advice to break the law and commit visa fraud? Well you’ve come to the wrong place. The only stories we hear are about people like you who come here and try to stir up problems. You give no information about your fiancée, where she is from, yet you say you love her and can’t be apart from her, but you’re “not ready” to get married! Your story is full of contradictions.

For those of us who do love our significant other and wish nothing but to be with them, as you put it, are applying for K-1 visas LEGALLY!!! We intend on marrying our significant others within 90 days of their arrival. We are not committing visa fraud. We are following the laws of the United States. So lets see… you take marriage very seriously, but not the laws of our country? You would enter into a fake marriage, with a woman you love so much and can’t be without, but you aren’t 100% sure. It sounds to me like, until you’re 100% sure, you better suck it up and get used to being apart from your girlfriend. Must have been nice to go see her once every 3 months. Sounds like you should have stuck with what you were doing. There are people on here that haven’t seen their fiancé(e) for over a year, yet they remain committed and true to following a very long and tedious legal procedure, which you have come here to make a mockery of!

The title of your thread “using the system” says it all. I suggest you go elsewhere to find your answers and not cause any problems on this board for the rest of us, because we don't use the system. We obey it and follow the letter of the law.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureslast ? for the experts for a few weeks Please help

USCIS TSC
PO BOX 850965
Mesquit, TX
75185-0965 (Correct?)

First of all, it's Mesquite, not Mesquit! ;)
Second, make sure you put your names on the back of your passport photos
Third, make sure you put names, date, and locations on the back of your photos for proof of relationship.
Fourth, do you have copies of some boarding passes to include?
Fifth, make sure you lett on how you met is clearly marked "I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18, explanation of meeting in person"
Sixth, on the check, in the "For" box, write I-129F Original Submission, and write I-129F Original Submission on the outside of your envelope.

Other than that, looks good!

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAirplane tickets

...(There is an exrta charge of $50 :crying: ) ...There is a small $100 fee to pay if the date of departure is before the 3 or 6 months. A small price to pay, since must on demand tickets are $3000 and up.

:o OMG!!! Do they give you extra wide seats, prime rib, lobster, brush your teeth and wipe your a$$ for that amount!!!

That's just insane!!!

I would recommend you have her find a travel agent locally to see what kind of fares you can get.

And name one other International Airline or Domestic that has a K-1 deal??????? With that open ticket offer, my travel agent company charges me there $25 exrta fee since it is a "Just plane ticket" and no "Tour Booking". How much commission is made off a $4000....$$$$$ "Tour" by your travel agent??? A lot more then $50....... That commission is in the price and your paying it. Correct?? So they get you Coming or Going ;)

That's just highway robbery! I purchased round-trip tickets from Lihue, through Honolulu, to Bangkok and back for myself and one way tickets back for my fiancee for less then HALF that amount!

Hope you guys have deep pockets!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 part1 & required documents

Should I submit the DS-230 part 1 and required documents togther or just submit the DS-230 first?

Submit the DS-230 Part I first. Collect all your documents as required by the check-list. Once the check-list is complete, send it in. After that, you will get your Packet 4. When you go to your interview, you will take all the documents you have gathered and/or obtained to the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs it ok to get married while filing the I-129F???
Well said Meauxna!

Evolution, have you not understood what a couple of people have said about having a Buddhist ceremony in Cambodia? It is possible for you to have a ceremony that will satisfy her family and religious beliefs, WITHOUT legally getting married! Many of us who have Thai fiancée’s have done exactly that. I had a big ceremony with my fiancée, her family, and nine Buddhist monks. It was a great ceremony, with all the pomp and circumstance, but we did not register with the Amphur, so we are NOT legally married. We will do that when she gets here next month. That is your only option, other than wait, or get married and go the K-3 route.

Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA 1
As recommended in the guides, you should have sent your petition return receipt so you know if it got there. In addition, you should have used a personal check, so you can tell if the check has been cashed. If you didn't do either of those two things, it makes it very difficult to verify if they ever received it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswhat do we use for i.d. after we're married?
You need to get all her ID's in the U.S. under her married name, like SSN, State ID or Drivers license, and other such documents. As for airline tickets, they will HAVE to be the same name that is in her Passport. You should always have a copy of your marriage certificate, and as long as you have your AP paperwork, if you travel before she gets her GC, then you will be fine.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust sent off my Packet 3 docs

Talk about impatient, I CANNOT wait for snail mail anymore. I just sent in my Packet 3 docs to the Embassy via UPS today after downloading all the forms. Thank GOD for the internet!!!!! :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

Exactly what documents did you send, and do you know if your case was actually received at the consulate handling your case?

You stand a risk of having them discard what you sent them if they do not have your case in their system.

Most people do not celebrate sending "Packet 3" docs. They do however celebrate NOA2, Interview Date, and actually receiving their Visa.

Patience is a virtue.
