K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresback of birth certificate- to include or not?
You're right Wenchie, I should have said "front of BC with note on the back about being blank".

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresback of birth certificate- to include or not?

The back of mine was completely blank, and the genius point was made that the back of the certificate WAS in fact blank on the photo copy (flip over the piece of paper, it's blank, therefore an exact copy of the birth certificate). But, just for saftey sake, I wrote on the back of mine "back blank on original".

Now that sounds like a good idea!

Either way, having copies of all the pages in your passport, along with the front of your BC, will be more than sufficient to prove you are a US Citizen, which is the whole purpose of those documents.

Good Luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCould I get some opinions on this?
sbgwolf and kitkat,

I can totally empathize with how you both are feeling. Even though I just squeaked through before IMBRA, even back then it was annoying seeing people going through the VSC getting approved in 2 weeks while CSC people were waiting 90 days.

Now that everything is thrown out of whack, I would seriously be pissed off seeing people getting approved in two weeks when I had been waiting 5 months!

All you can do is hang in there, and keep waiting. Just think, everyone that get approved, is one less in front of you.

Be patient and hopefully you will get your approvals soon!

Robert

1) Correct.

2) Yes, your case was transferred. You can leave your timeline NSC, since that's where you filed. When checking for status, you need to look at both.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSCARED

I was reading a GZ post on another board and it said that 2 persons were turned down because the Chinese fiance could not do the interview in English.

Hello "I Love You Lin" :)

I had a Chinese gf before I met my current fiancee, and also read a lot of things concerning language difficulties at GZ. On COL, I read that if your fiance tells the CO you speak Mandarin, they will want a tape of you speaking fluent Mandarin! I'm not sure how true any of these stories are, and hopefully some others here can tell you their experiences. I think what matters most, is that you and your fiance have the ability to communicate with each other. After all, if you two couldn't communicate, how could you have a good relationship? Many will tell you that their fiance(e)'s were able to request a translator to get through the interview, so it isn't always a question of how well the beneficiary can speak English. Once again, I don't know how this applies to GZ.

Good luck, welcome to VJ, and hope you find all your answers. Until then, try not to worry too much!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresthis makes no sence

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresthis makes no sence
When you sent the copies of your passport, did you include the pages with the Entry/Exit stamps?
Did you submit a copy of your passport as proof of citizenship, or did you also submit a copy of your Birth Certificate?
What evidence did you submit to prove you met? Did you submit copies of boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel receipts, and photos?

Before you (or anyone else) start blaming "them", make sure you provided the proper and correct amount of evidence!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 question

You say my fiancee won't need the NOA2 - this is Good News, as I am going to be visiting her in a few weeks and will be able to take with me everything she will need except for the NOA2. I guess faxing it to her will be just fine.

I didn't say she wouldn't need it, because a lot of people here feel their fiance(e) should have it for their interview, though no one who has gone through the consulate I will be using has ever been asked for it. Seems logical, since they wouldn't have the case at the consulate if it hadn't been approved? But we, after all, are dealing with a government agency! I will take my actuall NOA2 along with me to my fiancee's interview as a precaution, because I want to be as prepared as possible.

If you're not leaving for a couple of weeks, you might have your actual NOA2 before you leave! ;)

NOA2 two weeks after NOA1? WOW! Now THAT was fast.

See what you're missing out on Laura?! When is Luis going to send that petition in anyway?!!!
*Robert*MaleThailand2006-04-10 22:25:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 question

I think he's asking how long it takes from the adjudication (when they actually approve it) to the email update (that says you were aproved).
Maybe I'm wrong.... but that's what I got from his question.

Yes, it is a little unclear. I guess another way to put it is... forget about the date they give you in your timeline!!!

Once they (VSC) approve it, they update their online status and send out the e-mail that day (or evening). It will be a couple of days after that that you will receive your NOA2 in snail mail.

Look at the Immigration Timelines for other people using the VSC and sort by NOA1 date. That will give you a better idea of how long it will take to get your NOA2, but like I said before, you aren't in for much of a wait, compared to those of us who had to go through the CSC!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 question

According to my timeline, my I-129F may be adjudicated as early as April 30. Let's say it is adjudicated on this date - when can I expect to receive the NOA2?

Receive the physical NOA2 or the actual approval? You won't need your NOA2 until AOS, though some people send a copy to their fiance(e) for the interview. If you register with the USCIS using the receipt number from your NOA1, you will receive an e-mail from the VSC when your case is approved, plus you can check its status online at the USCIS website.

What counts is when the VSC sends your case to the NVC, and they in turn send it to Moscow, or which ever consulate will be handling your case.

Don't worry, you are going through VSC, which is by far the fastest service center there is. (You might want to put that Vermont is your service center in your profile too! ;) )

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresReceived Interview date. (Mumbai, INDIA)

CONGRATS and welcome to the may 9 club! So far consisting of jkb919, SENKA and you and me! ( http://www.visajourn...?showtopic=8690 )

Sandra

P.S.: I had to fill out a form in packet 3 if I want to bring someone to the interview ("someone" being the fiance or kids), I don't know if they do that in India too.

Yeah, but look when he sent his petition in compared to you!!! :o OMG less than 3 months! That's longer than it took for you and me to get our NOA2s!!!

To the OP... Congratulations and good luck with the interview! Hope you will be able to accompany your fiancee at the interview, because I will be with mine on... May 16th! (Only one week after the May 9th club!!! :D)
