K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresKinda Quiet

What's been quiet? There's been enough drama on this site this week to choke a horse.

Jen

Jen, I think the OP was referring to acutal immigration matters... not the hoopla on the OT forum! ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPOE question
YOU GO WITH THEM!!!

As a US Citizen, you can go through either line... but in this case, if you go through immigration, you will not be allowed back in and have to wait for them to clear immigration.

Stay with them, and go to the "Immigrant Visa" line, or ask and officer when you first enter the immigration area where do people with immigrant visas (or K-1 visas) go. (Technically the K-1 is NOT and immigrant visa, but you will be processed with the other immigrant visas).

We had to wait 45 minutes to get through immigration.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Alien Registration Number

no if you are a USC you dont have a A#, if you were naturalized into a USC then you have 1 .. somewhere.. but if you were born and raised you don't have an A#.. If your fiance never came to the states on a visa of any sort then she will not have an A# either.

She was here on a J-1 visa last year, working as an Au Pair. So, I guess that means she has one. Where can I find this number?

Thanks for your fast response!

The A# is issued by the USCIS, NOT the State Department. If she had a J1 visa, she does NOT have an A#. Just put "None" for both you and her. When you redo the G-325A for AOS, you will then have an A# for her to use.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFilling out I-129F and G-325a - is it OK to use a pen?
I too used Adobe Reader, and it has the ability to "remember" information you put in each block, so that if you do have to redo the form, it is as easy as hitting the tab key to keep the information the same.

The blocks are very small, and it would be very difficult to fill out by hand, especially the G-325A, which you would have to do 8 sheets by hand!!! :o

The people reading your forms truly appreciate them being filled in on a PC, as it makes them easier to read, and therefore avoids any confusion.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about filling in I-129F
You asked and answered your own question. It the question doesn't apply, its N/A. If you don't have one, its None.

If you fail to fill in all the blanks, and the USCIS officer reveiwing your application is unsure if you forgot to answer the question, you will get a RFE and delay your case.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSSN help needed

i arrived in the States on a K1Visa on June 5-06 I was married on the 28June. On the 7th July i went in to my local SSOffice in Philly to apply for my SSN

I'm assuming you are the husband, and the immigrant. If that is correct, you should have been able to obtain a SSN as you are within your 76 days of your I-94.

This thread will probably be moved, as it does not belong on this forum. Do as another poster suggested, and contact mdyoung, or he may just reply on his own.

Good luck and welcome to VJ.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAttempted to make copies of I-797 and I-797c

Now I'm worried also because I also submitted a color copy of my passport and birth certificate.

You can make all the copies of your documents you want. Copies are both acceptable AND required.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-94
The I-94 is a long white card that is the Arrival Record and Departure Record which is handed out on the airplane before it arrives in the US. This needs to be filled out completely and correctly. The Arrival Record will be kept by the BCO and the Departure Record will be stappled inside the passport, with a stamp and an expiration date. It is very important to have this form, as it is required for AOS, SSN, and as proof of legal entry.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquestion....

What country is he interviewing in? Most countries don't require them, some are picky and might require everything.

The consulate in Bangkok handed the NOA-2 back to me at the window. They definitely didn't want it!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiancee visa help....!!!

I was getting the same impression reading through this thread- she is in it for the Immigration Benefits and nothing else! I mean seriously, she will be questioned on the age difference by the CO in the worst way. BTW in the eyes of the CO they will have a hard time believing that a 25 year old who overstayed on a visa could possibly be head over heels in love with a 64 year old?
However, for pure entertainment- it was fun reading this thread!!

Ding Ding Ding!!!

I was trying not to be cruel either, but the OP has refused to give any justification for her "rush" to get a visa, or simply fill in a timeline. You don't have to give personal information on a timeline... just dates and locations. My honest opinion, and first impression, is that this girl is just looking for a free ticket back to the US, and doesn't give a rats azz about her 64yo fiance, other than hope he kicks the bucket soon after she gets her GC! She is only concerned about getting "back" to the US... not that she misses her sugar daddy, just "when am I going to get approved", "when am I going to get my visa"...

If this isn't a case of visa fraud... I don't know what is. If we see it, you can damn well bet a CO is going to see it as well. Trying to help this girl is a waste of time. Reading and responding to her is purly for entertainment purposes only.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiancee visa help....!!!

I have to agree with you on this...

Since I really don't have anything positive to say, I choose to say nothing at all, except to paste the following quote:

"Hamlet." Act I, Scene 4: Marcellus (an officer) says "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark".

LisaD... this case seems to apply to your thread the other week in OT!

Just to add some information, both my NOAs were I-797s. My NOA-1 said "Received Date" and my NOA-2 said "Receipt Date". My "Priority Date" was blank on both forms.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCanceling our k1 visa
Awww Michelle… I’m so sorry to hear this. I was wondering why I haven’t seen you around much lately, and was shocked to see your name next to the subject of the thread.

I’m really sorry things didn’t work out for you and Jay, but it sounds like its better you found out about it now, then actually moving to the US, getting married, and finding out about it later.

Wish you the best of luck in your future, and hope that someday you can find the right man, and a man that will love you and support you the way you deserve.

Take care and keep your chin up.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOur Journey Begins!
Hello and welcome to VJ, and good luck with your journey! You will not receive your case number from the USCIS. You will get a "Receipt Number" however, and that number you can use to register for online updates from the USCIS.

When your case does get approved, and goes to the NVC, they will assign a case number and send it on to Guangzhou. Again, you can use your USCIS Receipt Number to contact the NVC and get your DOS case number, if it has been assigned at that time.

Regardless, you've got a wait in front of you before that will happen. Untill then, just relax and be patient.

Hello to the Board
My fiancée lives in Guangzhou, China
I mailed our petition July 4th and they received it on the 8th at the NSC. I've yet to receive a case number how long does that take. When I receive a case number is that considered the NOA1?
I wish I would have found this site prior to filling. In any event after reading the assembly instructions posted here the only items missing from my petition are; No header page, and I didn't write any dates on the pictures. I did include a copy of the stamps in my passport and a bunch of copied receipts for hotels and tourists attractions we visited plus a copy of all of my flight stubs.
I'm unsure of how the IMBRA process works. Neither of us has a record. I had a certified copy of her Birth, Being Single and no record of crime from her birth to when I was in China; however I included no transcripts of my clean slate. Was I supposed to acquire some kind of proof of no record? Also we didn't go through a marriage broker but met by pure chance on match.com. Was I supposed to have some kind of proof of our meeting. I did include our statements of intent. So my question boils down to will I be mailed an RFE for my crime record even if there is no record or proof of our meeting?

Thanks for any guidance you may provide.
Clare

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures??Change In % of Required Income??
When it comes to the I-134, there are no clearly defined limits, unlike the I-864 which requires 125% above the poverty limit, or 100% if you are on active duty in the military. It is suggested that you be able to meet the 125% for your K-1 visa, since that is what will be required for AOS.

As for changes in limits, I have not heard anything about that. There are some changes concerning the the new I-864 form and evidence required, but that's all I know about.
