K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCASE APPROVED AND NVC CONFIRMS RECEIPT
Calling the NVC for information on a K-1 case is pointless. Once it leaves the NVC they have nothing further to do with it. You need to use the case number they assigned, and contact the Consulate in Italy, and ask them what is going on.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIMBRA again

are these laws particularly pointing fingers at male USC's with beneficiary females?

YES!!!! so much for sexual discrimination! Guess no woman has EVER beaten or killed a man before?!!
*Robert*MaleThailand2006-05-11 22:47:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHead start on IMBRA
Besides... it's aimed at MALE US Customers... not female. Blatent sexual discrimination. Would we expect less?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI HATE WAITING
I sure hope you hear something soon. Maybe it's because of this IMB law which is causing further delays. Not that it helps, but it may be a reason it's taking longer, and nothing to do with your actual case. Hang in there! :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-94 card

Hello all,

There is a chance my fiancee may be returning home. I understand that the I-94 card is needed; is that all?
Just fill out ?

Thanks
BigK

Isn't the I-94 just something they stapled to his Visa?

An I-94 is for any Non-US citizen entering the U.S. from abroad. It is the Arrival/Departure card.

*Robert*MaleThailand2006-05-12 17:10:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview CANCELLED!!!!!!???????????????

My thoughts exactly Robert.
As i said in the other thread I think the Embassies really arent sure whats going on and are referring back to USCIS - hopefully there should be some directive going out about this - it seems the new law is being misapplied (from what I understand from reading here).
BUT - if the checks are righteous I doubt tehy will take very long otherwise everything will just grind to a halt across the board as service centers are choked up with recalls.
And once the recalls are returned to the Embassy Im sure they will be fast-tracked for interviews.

Honestly, I would think only the VSC is facing major backups ... how many of the other service centers have a lot of NOA2 out there with NOA1 dates of 3/6/06 or later?

Funny... I was thinking the same thing earlier! For those of us from CSC/TSC, just now getting our interviews... you KNOW we had our NOA1s a LONG time ago! :) Maybe that's why the VSC as suddenly put the brakes on as well?
*Robert*MaleThailand2006-05-11 21:59:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview CANCELLED!!!!!!???????????????
There has to be some kind of window. It can't be ALL NOA1's after Mar 6th. At some point, the USCIS had to start doing the proper screening. In that case, it will be all NOA1's between Mar 6th and ???? I think people here want to know the ???? as well!
*Robert*MaleThailand2006-05-11 18:56:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe IMBRA law
You know, it seems that all the people who had their speed process through the VSC are going to pay the price more than anyone else.

It would also seem that the window is going from Mar 6 through at least Apr on the NOA1s. Since most of those petitions are still at NCS and CSC, they can just hold on to them and do their added checks. The petitions from the VSC are already out at the consulated, and have to be returned. :(

Not good at all.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes this seem legit?

Send a PM to the Captain informing him of this very irregular use of VJ. I'll send one too.

Agreed... you guys need to PM Captain Ewok and have him deal with it. Do not violate the rules of the board. Two wrongs don't make a right.
*Robert*MaleThailand2006-05-12 13:46:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes this seem legit?
There's a reason no one ever displays a NOA1 or 2 with all the pertinent information. IT's PRIVATE!!!

I wouldn't do it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresapply from Texas but sent to Cali?
The TSC does not, and has not for some time, processed I-129Fs, not to be confused with I-129s.

You must still send your petition to the TSC if you are in their jurisdiction, and they will then forward it on to the CSC.

Them's the breaks pardner!!
*Robert*MaleThailand2006-05-12 19:14:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAre some people NEVER touched until NOA2?
Some people get approved without ever getting "touched", but it seems lately there are a lot more "touches" going on before either approval or RFE.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresClarification on IMBRA Recall

roi

Gender has nothing to do with the IMBRA

More detailed info on IMBRA

Well that's good to hear... i think!

And they get paid to write ####### like that?!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresClarification on IMBRA Recall

who knows what's going on.. we can only speculate... but.. if this law is in effect and interviews are being cancelled for no reason, well then you can write your congressmen(or women) letters.. via FedEx... but.. if this law is implemented properly, I have no problem with waiting a little extra time if it means that there are more stringent background checks on USC's for abuse/violent crimes.. I'd rather wait than have another woman beaten...

easy for you to say icey... 1) because you're a woman 2) because you don't have your NOA2. For those of us who are men, and have an interveiw date... I don't think we feel the same way, especially since I have no crminal record, have served in the military, and currently work on a military installation. My TS clearance is enough proof of that. This is just more #######. PERIOD.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresClarification on IMBRA Recall
Thanks for the small heart attack, when my fiancee's interview is next week!

Thank goodness, either way, we would have made it. Even my NOA2 is before Mar 6th (by 4 DAYS!!!)

:hehe:
*Robert*MaleThailand2006-05-11 18:18:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThis is crazy
It appears this new law will be affecting A LOT of people, not just you and the VSC. This certainly explains why no NOA2s have been coming out of VSC lately. :( Hang in there!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHawaii honeymoon?
I live here, so since I'm bringing my fiancee here, it should be okay for you to also! I know Hawaii might not seem like it's part of the U.S., we have not become a Japanese province yet. :P

Just be glad you aren't here now. Worst flooding in 60 years, and contaminated beaches and water off of Waikiki. One Waikiki local man already lost one limb and is in serious condition that fell into the polluted water when the city had to dump raw sewage into the Wai Alai canal! So much for paradise! We are finally starting to dry out, but he mosquitoes are killer!

Check to make sure that where you are going is not damaged from the flooding!

Aloha from the Garden Isle

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDivorce certificates only, right?
What is up with the London Consulate wanting "Marriage Certificates"? That just doesn't make sense, since the most important issue is to be legally capable of getting married. That's what the divorce decree is for.

Oh well. Glad I didn't have to go through London!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRetired co-sponser

My co-sponsor is retired and would like to know which supporting financial documents will be required with the I-134 for a retired person? He is not totally comfortable with surrendering all that is listed on the form. I know the more we can submit the better but I also understand his concern. Would he need to submit his 1040’s from the past 2 years? Also I am correct that I read somewhere you need to show only 100% over poverty for the I-134 and 125% for the I-864?

Yes, you are correct.

There are no specific guidelines for the I-134. That is why it is suggested to follow the limits defined for the I-864. Regardless, in order to get a GC, the I-864 will have to be filed, and you will have to meet the 125%. Better to meet it now as to avoid problems later.

Once again... the 100% ONLY applies to Active Duty military, and NOT to the I-134.

100% is only for Active Duty military. He needs to submit either the 1040 or a tax transcript. The number of years depends on the Consulate. My consulate only required last years.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan't Find NOA2 Copy??

YIKES........It is going to cost me $200.00 to get a copy??????????????Are you kidding????

It's funny you have to pay $200.00 for a duplicate NOA2, then turn around and give it right back to to them.

Ain't Bureaucracy Grand!!!

You better find that NOA2!!! I can't believe how many people loose their NOA2s!!! Maybe the USCIS has figured this out as well, and is capitalizing on it! As wonderful as it is to receive, people should take better care of it, especially when it is also needed for AOS!
